*Resistance; writing is not what is hard, what's hard is actually sitting down to do it. What keeps us
from doing the things we want to do is resistance.
*The unlived life - The life we could live but resistance stands in between. Resistance is the most toxic force on the planet, it prevents us from achieving the life God intended for us.
*"The danger is greatest when the finish line is in sight"
*The working artist will not tolerate trouble in her life because she knows trouble prevents her from doing work.
*"Casting yourself as a victim is the anti-thesis of doing your work."
*"The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference."
*Resistance is what stops us from doing the things we are intended to do with our talents. Resistance is the bridge between the life we live and the life we want to live. The hardest part isn't doing, it's sitting down TO DO.
*Don't thunk like an amateur, think like a pro. The amateur plays for fun, the pro plays for keeps. The amateur is a weekend warrior, the pro is 7 days a week grinding.
*"By performing the act of sitting down and starting, he set in motion a mysterious sequence of events that would produce inspiration"
*Accept misery, enjoy misery. You volunteer for hell and dine with rejection, criticism, isolation, humiliation, self doubt, but if you enjoy misery you will persevere through.
*Becoming Pro: show up every day, show up no matter what, stay on the job, commit for the long haul.
*Accepting failure is better than being on the sidelines.
*A professional is patient."Any job whether it's a remodel or a novel it takes twice as long and costs twice as much as he thinks."
*"There is no such thing as a fearless warrior." Fear cannot be overcome you must do in the face of fear.
*Respect your craft you are not superior to it. Respect the contributions of those before you.
*The professional doesn't take failure or success personally. You stand apart from your performance.
*"We have a right only to our labor not the fruits of our labor."
*"There's no mystery turning pro. It's a decision brought about by an act of will.
*Nothing else matters rather than sitting down everyday and trying
*Boldness has genius, magic, and power in it. Begin it now the moment one commits himself then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would not otherwise move.
