[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Cowboy Romance, M/M]

Lachlan Blaecleah never expected to find the love of his life in the middle of a street fight with two other men, but he knew the moment he saw Asa Miller that he wanted to get to know the man better. He jumps into the fight and becomes Asa's knight in slightly tarnished armor.

Asa Miller is amazed by Lachlan every time he looks at him. He's a walking, talking cowboy fantasy come to life, complete with hat and boots. After being rescued by him and taken home for a night of debauchery at the hands of the sexy cowboy, Asa isn't sure what to do next. Should he stick around and get to know Lachlan and his large family better or run from the feelings the man invokes in him?

Before Asa can make his choice, someone else steps in to separate the two men, on a more permanent basis. Asa has to decide if what they have together is worth the heartache he feels when he almost loses the man he loves. Or should he guard his heart and lose his cowboy forever?

I'm torn with how to rate this one. It was probably a 4 star up until the last two chapters where it fell to a WTF when I read Asa's reaction to what happened to Lachlan.

If you quickly skip past that part this is a pretty decent cowboy/badboy MM. I liked the MCs and they were smoking hot under the covers, on top of the covers, in the barn, under the stars, against a wall, in the truck...

The villain is pretty cardboard but I was willing to look beyond that and go with the fun of the read when it all came to a screeching halt with Asa's reveal to Lachlan's father. I have to admit I never saw that coming. Shakes head. Still it was a good solid sexy read, just be willing to suspend belief and go with the flow. It's more like a cowboy fairytale.

Super sweet, tons of sex, and a nice little story. Save it for when you need a pick-me-up. For a bonus, do the audio version. It's John Solo from six years ago and he sounds so earnest. It's thoroughly charming.

an audiobook copy of Cowboy Easy was provided to me for the purpose of my honest review

I really liked this one and thought it was a good start to a new series.

Asa and Lachlan (love that name!) meet when Lachlan saves Asa from being beaten up by a couple of bigoted brothers. It's instant attraction that goes from a one night stand to something more serious as they both develop feelings for each other. Between the town bully, a barn fire and a stupid promise, it's just about insta-love for the two.

I liked Asa. The background details made him more interesting to me. I loved Lachlan. Even though Lachlan is depicted as the bigger man, more dominating, I felt that he was more a submissive then Asa was. Still, I really liked him.

The storyline was interesting. It kept my attention most of the book. I loved the Blaecleah brothers. I wished there was more scenes about, and with, them but the ones that were there were pretty funny to me. I loved how Lachlan's parents were simply known as Ma and Da. Lol*shrugs*

I was left with some questions, though. There was just a tad too much sex for my taste but others won't think so. I also thought the ending was both dragged and was rushed, if that makes sense. .

Overall, if you like Stormy Glenn's books, you'll probably like this one. It was a good book and I'm definitely eager to read the next one in the series about Rourke and Billy.

Here' a story of a cute cowboy and a down-on-his-luck drifter who turn a one-night-stand into an epic romance. Super sweet, lovely secondary characters and it sets the stage for a new series. I'm not sure if I will keep going with the series, but I really enjoying this introduction, a compelling love story. It ticked all my M/M romance boxes.

Recommended if you like M/M sex as steamy as possible without turning into porn, big, beautiful men swapping roles in bed, a touch of bigoted angst from small minded townsfolk, and big helping of family love.

This book was ok. In fact, I probably liked it better than any other book I’ve read by this author. I was wanting to read something with cowboys and this sounded good. I didn’t bother to check the other books I’ve read by her until I was half way through and wasn’t loving what I was reading.

I kind of liked the story and both Asa and Lachlan. It was insta love and that didn’t bother me. What did bother me was the stilted dialogue and I hate to say this, but there was too much sex. Although it wasn’t exactly a cliffhanger, everything wasn’t solved in the end. I’m sure that is for the next book, but I don’t care. I’m not reading it.

An easy, light read, just not much to remember after the last page is turned.
I liked Asa and Lachlan together, although, to be honest, it was all too much insta for me. Insta-lust, insta-sex and then the marriage proposal after only knowing each other a few weeks...
Nonetheless it could have been at least a three star book for me until the last two chapters, where I found Asa's reaction to what happened to Lachlan totally out of character.

I really liked this story, especially because the two men in it were physically pretty evenly matched. This was a nice surprise, coming from Stormy, and really worked well for me. Both are true switches and take turns not just in the bedroom but in their decisions as well. I loved that balance.

Asa is a run-away, rejected by his family and looking for a place to call home. He has some leftover internal uncertainty about being a gay man to deal with, and that almost costs him his newfound lover.

Lachlan may look and act like the big, strong rancher, but he is actually a really loving and open guy. He quickly realizes he loves Asa, and even though he is pretty sure his family accepts his being gay, he is still happily surprised when he finds out how far their acceptance goes.

While not exactly insta-love, the speed of development of their relationship comes very close. This didn't reduce my enjoyment in the least; I thought Asa's and Lachlan's enthusiasm combined with a slight hesitancy about how quickly they were falling for each other was adorable. The secondary characters were fun to read about as well, and definitely make me look forward to more stories in this series.

This was a short quick read that I thought was ok. These two had a lot of hot chemistry but I wanted more of a story other than sex. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

**** I love a Stormy Glenn story !!! **** This is a quick M/M romance that pushes all the right buttons. It's a look at the first of the brothers to find his true love, and it sets the tone for more to come. Lovable characters, deep loving, hot sexiness, and a few twists and turns make it worthwhile.

Big, tall, strong rancher, green-eyed blonde, Lachlan,
steps up to help a stranger out when he's being beaten by the town's two bullies.

Sturdy, muscled, brown haired, Asa, was just traveling through when the creeps ran his motorcycle off the road and started pounding on him.

He was grateful to have a hero rescue him. Asa and Lachlan are in instant lust of each other, and it turns into much more. The Blaecleah family is terrific !

These tales are fun, loving, romantic, and lessons are always learned. I've read nearly all of them.
Every story I read doesn't have to be a novel, or too intense. These tales are perfect for a quick easy romantic read, and the super hot sex is great !

So, ENJOY this swoon worthy tale !!!

Didn't (can't) finish this. I'm 86% into the audiobook and I just can't. I took a long break after I heard the part where Asa made a promise to god not to be gay... And it made me so mad I almost threw my phone against the wall. Like. What a completely asinine ~plot twist~. So too was Lachlan's reaction to having like, two days, without sex. TWO DAYS.

The plot, overall, was ridiculously predictable. Even without finishing, I know what is going to happen (which is part of why I can't finish).

From the insta-love to asinine and absurd behaviour from grown men...

Though, the quitting point for me was the whole marriage thing. Like... Wat. It comes out of nowhere and the whole "will you take the family name..." was just too heteronormative after the whole promise to god thing. I refuse.

Le sigh.

I understand that stupidity is a necessary device in the delicate angst-to-sweet ratio of plot development, but Asa's level of stupidity was just a smidge out of proportion.

Said stupidity was not entirely relieved by the cute familial Blaecleah (and I mean, I really had a hard time with the spelling here, but tried to get over myself) bond and the hot and pretty sex.

So, a three.

But I'm off to read the next in the series, for what it's worth. I'm hopeful but my eye is jaundiced.

Primera lectura: 4/5

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It seems that Ms Glenn got over the need for a weak, boyish man in the relationship. Both Asa and Lachlan are strong willed and physically well built. Lachlan comes from a loving and accepting close knit family while Asa was an only child disowned when he came out. I liked both Ma and Da Blaecleah and their way of looking at life and love. All of the characters seemed very real and likeable. The sex scenes were well done with both men giving and taking equally. This was all in all a good uncomplicated feel good read. I'm looking forward to book two.

I struggled with the perception that these were men in their mid-twenties. There was something about the writing that kept pulling these two back about five years. I had to stop a couple of times and remind myself that they were older than how they were acting or speaking. There were some conflicting character descriptions. In the beginning, they were about six foot and then later six and a half feet tall.

The most unbelievable aspect about the story for me was "the promise". It just didn't work for me. I felt it robbed Asa of something important. It made him into someone different from whom I thought he was.

This was a 2.5 for me.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and do the review now, even though there is an hour left in the audiobook.

OMFG what a piece of shit.
I think mostly it's the narration.
If you have characters that are supposed to have accents (Irish, and Southern respectively) ACTUALLY HAVE THE NARRATOR DO THE FUCKING ACCENTS. It sounded so freaking awkward and made the entire story just jerk and stutter. Two of the characters are supposed to be off the boat from Ireland as it were, and uses words that should have accent. This narrator was shit.

Also, the author knows nothing about Ireland. Or how arrest warrants work.

Where the fuck do you get the nickname 'Lonnie' from 'Lochlan'??! I know several people named Lochlan, and that never is a short name that would ever happen.

Everything about this novel felt awkwardly written.
Insta everything.
Just bad writing.

I don't even know if I'll bother with the last hour of listening. This is just bad. I can't believe I stuck with it that long as it is.

This is a review of the audiobook:
Overall: 5
Performance: 5
Story: 4

Short, Sweet and HOT!!

John Solo is one of my absolute favorite audiobook performers. Cowboy Easy is one of his earlier works and it was a great listen. It's a shortish story so it's definitely an insta-love one but I don't have a problem with those like some people do.

There's more than a bit of bullying in this story so if that bothers you, you might want to pass on this one. I loved how supportive Lachlan Blaecleah's family is of his relationship with Asa Miller.

I love these shorter audiobooks; they are perfect for when I'm performing mundane household tasks. This one certainly helped to pass the time in a very enjoyable way.

I was given a complimentary copy of this audiobook but that did not influence my review and no review was required in exchange for the gift.

A m/m pick-it-for-me challenge book. Cowboy Easy was a nice (hot) little read, though I felt that the relationship seemed to progress a bit too rapidly for my preferences and the conflict really wasn't much of a conflict. More like a minor rock in path of the snowball love story. I was sorta waiting for something more impactful (or at least slightly more testing to the relationship) to happen, but really nothing more than a (sorta strange) misunderstanding occurs leading to a very short lover's spiff.

I also never really got to fully figure out the characters and personalities of the two main characters. Maybe it's because I sort of got a little bored around the middle part of the novel and started to speed through it, but I just couldn't get a feel for the two. It was like I was receiving mixed messages about their personalities from their differing actions throughout the book so my brain couldn't form solid characters. For me, Ma's little tale of how she met Da was more colorful and solid than the main couple's story, probably because it was nice and short. It made me see that Cowboy Easy could've really been squashed into a couple of pages than a full-length novel. Probably would've made the story more poignant and sweet, like a reflection of the past.

I'm thinking that this novel served more as introducing the characters and issues to be covered in the next novels rather than successfully executing a full standalone. I've read the blurb for the next book in the series and it sounds quite interesting so I'll be off to start that soon.

Overall I'll give 3 stars since I did enjoy some parts of the novel and it set up some possibly interesting drama for the future books.

Edit: After reading Cowboy Keeper I've popped it down to just 3 stars since it really didn't get a ton better. Plus I seem to tend to give higher initial ratings to books people recommend to me for book challenges before really I think it over (probably because I don't seem to like to put down people's favorite books).

I would have to say that this will be a mixed review. I really enjoyed reading the stories in the series but there were a few things that detracted from the rating.

I read quickly & glaring errors that any worthwhile editor SHOULD pick up just make me scream. In Cowboy Easy there were multiple mistakes where the wrong word (spelt correctly) had slipped through the editing process. One glaring example - "He was starting to feel like a PIRANHA in his own home..." WTF? Did the author mean pariah? This sort of mistake really detracts from the reading experience for me.

The second gripe I had with this book & the series in general is that for the price they/it are too short. I read all 4 books in a couple of hours. I would consider $2 a much better price for the word count.

My third gripe is that the sex appeared to be too heterosexual. I know I'm a woman & therefore have no concept of M/M sexual practices but I just felt that the pairings in the series were too traditional with the 'strong' man & 'weaker' female character in a man's body. I know that Lachlan & Asa don't fit this stereotype, but this review is influenced by my experience with the entire series.

My fourth problem is that I am getting really sick of the gay rancher/cowboy having his fecking barn burnt down by the homophobic neighbour. Is there nothing else to do in the wild west???

Having said all of the above, I did enjoy reading the books. I would have loved them if the editing were improved, the credibility of the story-lines were sharpened & if the characters appeared well, 'more' gay.

After multiple readings...I would have to say that I've gotten my money's worth out of this series BUT if you don't re-read like I do, then my comment about cost still stands.

I love contemporary m/m romances, especially those featuring some hot, hot cowboys. COWBOY EASY, the first of Stormy Glenn's BLAECLEAH BROTHERS series, seemed like it would fit the bill nicely. I don't regret purchasing it, and I'll probably even get around to reading the other books in the series eventually, but I did have some issues with the story.

First off, the story is well-written. I had no problems with the writing at all. My main complaint was that, in this day and age, you don't get many people rescuing a stranger from the road, taking him home, and immediately sexing him up with no regards to reality. You know, reality like "Is the guy an axe murderer?" Or "How many other guys did he sleep with today?" It's just not safe, and it's actually pretty ridiculous if you think about it. My other major complaint actually came after I finished the story and realized that the author planned to make EACH AND EVERY Blaecleah brother (and there are five of them!) gay. Really? How unrealistic is that? Not one straight guy among the bunch, even the one who can't go a full sentence without mentioning the girl he banged recently?

These were the issues I had with the story, which other readers might not share. Like I said, Stormy Glenn can write. I didn't hate COWBOY EASY, and I even came to care about most of the main characters by the story's end. But my problems were big enough that I didn't love the story as much as, say, THE TIN STAR and THE BROKEN H by J.L. Langley, who writes some hot yet believable and emotional cowboys.

I’ll love you within an inch of your life and never let you go.

Make you feel breathless? It would me. Imagine it coming from a sexy cowboy. Are you melting? Then you need to read Cowboy Easy.

I’ve read lots of great reviews on the work of Stormy Glenn. I had to find out for myself what the buzz was all about. I’m glad I did. I’m a sucker for white hot man on man action and Asa and Lachlan are super hot. I felt like I was right there with them and had to know what would happen next.

Both are strong men and I couldn’t help but smile when they met. Okay, so it wasn’t the most marshmallowy sweet meeting. That’s fine. I loved reading about them learning each other and having red-hot sex.

There were a couple of issues. I found myself more than once being pulled from the story because there was a good deal of telling rather than showing. As much as I felt like I was there, I didn’t feel like I was in the characters’ shoes. I also wanted to get into the characters’ heads more than I did. But, it didn’t keep me from enjoying the book. Far from it.

The action-packed plot has twists and turns I didn’t see coming and I’m glad. It kept me wanting to know more.

If you want a story that’s got lots of hot sex, hunky guys, and a helping of heart, then you need to read Cowboy Easy. I give it 4 cherries.

Stormy Glenn's stories are either hit or miss with me. They are either well-thought out or hashed together with little or no imagination. This one was in between. I liked the premise of the story but it was overly filled with cliches: Man kicked out of family due to being gay. He travels the country on bike ends up in little country town where two redneck brothers beat him up after he left a diner he was eating in because he's gay (how they knew this was never said.) Newcomer was rescued by local gay cowboy who takes him home and newcomer moves in with him. They fall in love after a few weeks, get attacked again by one of the redneck brothers for being the evil gay men in town. Cowboy's barn gets set on fire allegedly by redneck brother which sends cowboy to the hospital with a head injury by a kicking horse. Newcomer promises god to stop being gay if he brings him back (HUGE EYE ROLLING MOMENT HERE) which caused a little drama between them because newcomer wouldn't kiss or have sex with cowboy after he recovered. To make it up to him, he proposes. They become engaged to be married.

That pretty much sums up the story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Awesome book!!! I totally love it, and honestly is really hard for me to find a book that actually make feel what the MC are feeling.

Lachlan is a cowboy all the way thru. His parents own a ranch, where he and his other brothers work at. Lachlan is completly open about his sexual preferences when it comes to his family, but still he is a little bit shock with his parents acceptance of his relationship with Asa.

Asa had been on the road for a while since he came out of the closet to his parents, which totally disowned him and pretend that he didn't exist; and that is why Asa decided to leave.

Both of them aren´t looking for a relationship when they first met, but as soon as they found out that the could match more than just in the bedroom, they decide to give it a shot. It's not like Asa has anywhere else to go. Some incidents happen in the ranch and some others outside the ranch, but the guys get thru them and in the end get their HEA.

I really enjoy this book, there were times I suffered with the guys, and times where I was smiling with the happy parts. I totally recommended it.

Cowboy Easy is a wonderful story that in my mind is very realistic. There is nothing more irritating to me as a reader than the stereotype that all gay men are really looking for is sex and with as many different partners as they can find. While this story has the classic pick up for a one-night stand, I really loved how Ms. Glenn showed that such a thing can quickly become more and in a very short time. I also thought the small-minded mentality of some living in a small town was realistically portrayed and definitely added to the suspense. I absolutely loved Lachlan’s family. His family is the kind that many wish they had, and I really thought it was very cool how his family took Asa in. That in my mind is one of the key best things about this story. And who does not love a cowboy? If you love cowboys, then you definitely do not want to miss this story from the incomparable Stormy Glenn!

"He was starting to feel like a piranha in his own home."
Umm, do you mean pariah? Cause if it's the vicious little fish with sharp teeth, then I'm not getting the context.

Humorous errors aside this book didn't really do it for me. I tend to suspend my belief of human behaviour and interaction when I read these types of books. And I was doing ok until the part when Asa makes a deal with god to quit being gay if Lachlan lives. For God's sake it was a bump to the head! Where did all the drama come from for something so inconsequential? That scene alone dropped it from a 2 star read to a 1 star. But, the piranha mistake gave me a chuckle so I'll put it back to 2 stars.

This is the first in this set of books about 5 brothers. As an introduction to the family it was first class and the chemistry between Lany and Asa was red hot. The trouble that had Asa fighting right at the start of this tale carries on through out the book and adds a nice bit of suspense to the otherwise pure, cowboy porn. Now don't get me wrong I am not complaining here I love the imagery and playfulness of the story but it does need the edge that the suspense element gives it or it would be just be 2 hot men going at it, again not complaining as I bought all 5 books and hope that they all are as good as this one!!
