The V V Inn #.5-3
The V V Inn Series Box Set, Books 1-3
The series readers are describing as "sexier than True Blood."
A remote getaway. Beautiful guests. Deadly, sensual fun. Four action-packed books with a full cast of characters you’ll love getting to know.
No cliffhangers! Each book contains a complete story.
Warning: These books contain adult content (bloody violence, graphic language, and explicit sex) and are not intended for readers under 18.
DEATH'S SERVANT (Stand-alone Prequel Novella)
Jonathan Winchester has clashed with his alpha one too many times. He returns to his home state of Virginia to start a new life free of pack politics. Jon finds work and meets a young waitress, who appears to be a lone werewolf like him.
Soon, Jon's embroiled in more intrigue than he bargained for and a danger bigger than he can handle. He's running scared until his own alpha tendencies surface, making him unable to leave the pretty werewolf's problems behind.
Please Note: This book is told from Jon's point of view.
VAMPIRE VACATION (Book 1)
In the Alaskan darkness, it’s not just the cold that bites.
Meet Vivian. She's a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot—a dark, isolated hideaway where supernatural visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.
The powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Juggling the demands of their guests while tracking a killer isn't easy—will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets Vivian would kill to protect?
Please Note: This book is told from Vivian's point of view.
THE HUNT (Book 2)
Seven vampires and seven werewolves pay to hunt a supernatural criminal across the cold, vast grounds of an Alaskan resort. The one to catch her, and live through the encounter, will increase their power by feasting on hers.
The tiny vampire they track is more than she appears. To escape a fate of twelve years in silver chains, she'll do anything to survive the weeklong excursion.
Please Note: This book is told from six points of view (all the new members of the seethe).
BIG GAME (Book 3)
Vivian and Rafe venture into the Seat of Darkness, the Tribunal's base, to uncover who's plotting against them and why. From a cold, windy island off the southern Argentine coast, to the decadence of Buenos Aires, the group has plenty to keep their attention—seductive twins, deadly games, and a bunch of bloodsucking fiends who hate our innkeeper enough to see her dead.
Asa and Jon remain in Alaska to manage the inn. Visiting werewolves go on their first exploration of the property, looking for big game. Pheromones run high and shots ring out across the tundra. Soon, the hunters become the hunted and the peaceful getaway resembles a battleground.
Please Note: This book contains two stories happening simultaneously, and is told from six points of view.

VAMPIRE VACATION~~
Holy Vampire Alaska vacation spots Batman!!!! This was my first read of author C.J. Ellisson and I must say this was a very good read for me. As you all know I'm a vampire fanatic, so when I spotted this vamp author on FB I jumped to check her out.
Loved the character, especially the lead female Dria (aka Vivian). Lest we forget her ever so hot sexy hubby Rafe! I was also happy to see a Werewolf in this one as well. This author also writes some of the most awesome love scenes (fanning myself just remembering them)!! The story line was very interesting....killer on the loose in the wilds of the backwoods of the Alaska, at a Vampire vacation resort hot spot. The owners enlist the help of the willing patrons of said resort....thinking it'll be great fun! Don't worry "Vivian", it'll all work out in the end!!
I recommend this one to all my fellow vampire lovers. No icky bloody stuff in this one, just fun sexy, exciting good fun~~
I look forward to the other books in this series.
THE HUNT~~
Just finished the second book in the V V Inn vamp series. I really love this series. It has everything I look for in a good paranormal series...vampires & werewolves mostly. Well, this one had plenty of excitement in the hunting of a criminal, supplied by the Tribunal. Dria & Rafe soon are wondering if this whole "hunt" was such a wise decision. There were many times I was agreeing with them.
The story takes place at the Alaskan resort owned by married couple Dria (vamp) & Rafe (human). This time around the resort is playing host to both vampires and werewolves. Mixing the two isn't always a good idea, however they all behaved other than a few nasty comments like...."bloodsuckers" or "smelling like a wet dog"! Don't worry though there was also a very large portion of steamy hot love scenes.
I was really touched with the dedication at the end of the book. The author cleverly used the names of a few friends and relatives for her characters. Even with a family tragedy, she was able to finish this wonderful book for us all to enjoy.
I recommend this series to those who like nice light hearted vampire stories with just a bit in the scary department. Lots of strong relationships are being built among these people along the way.
I look forward to the next book in this series Big Game.
BIG GAME~~
For starters...WOW!!! I think this was my fav of this series. I was on the edge of my seat for parts of it. Had my hand over my mouth saying, "oh no, how are they all going to get out of this one"?
The story actually takes place in two different settings...Alaska, at the resort and in Argentina, on Dria & Rafe's island. Jon is left in charge of the resort with a bunch of weres coming for a big hunt. Dria, Rafe, Drew, Bob, Tommy & Chelly all head to the island. That's when the s*** hits the fan in both locations. Dria & Rafe go to the big Tribunal party and they get into a very bad situation. Jon is faced with someone gunning (literally) for the wolves. This was by far the most exciting book in the series And I just wasn't able to put it down. In the end true love wins out, but does still leaves some things hanging to be dealt with in the next book.
Don't worry though there is plenty of hot steamy love scenes with several loving couples, but also tons of suspense, plus some fun as well!!
Don't forget to read the short story called Death Times Two (about Asa)!!
I so love this wonderful new vampire series!!

Death's Servant, Prequel 1
Have you read the V V Inn series by C. J. Ellisson? If so, have you wondered how Jon, an alpha werewolf, came to be part of Dria's entourage? If you haven't yet, what are you waiting for? :)
Jonathan Winchester (Jon) has had enough. His strong alpha wolf can't handle anymore conflict with the other alpha and his mate in the pack he's part of in Manitoba, Canada. Two alphas in that close proximity are bound to cause problems anyway. When Jon later finds his girlfriend in bed with another pack member and things hit the fan, Jon leaves. He ends up back in The States, specifically Virginia, close to his hometown.
A chance meeting finds him face-to-face with another werewolf; Raine, a beautiful waitress who claims there isn't a pack in the area. When his inner wolf wants to claim her as his mate, he tries to keep things slow with her. In doing so, she begins to pull away, rejecting his requests for dates and just flat out avoiding him - until he follows her...right into a vampire brothel.
His only way of rescuing those inside is by finding a bigger, badder vampire than the one running this one. And in searching out another vampire, he finds Dria and her human husband, Rafe. Will they be willing to help and at what cost to Jon?
I love C.J. Ellisson's V V Inn series. The characters are well developed and have fantastic personalities. Death's Servant is no different. We finally get a glimpse into how Jon became part of Dria's team. We watch both Dria and Jon struggle while coming to terms with how their relationship comes to fruition. The fact that Dria has a very tight hold on her humanity keeps the union between them from becoming violent or messy. Her want and need to help the slaves in the brothel shows just how much compassion this vampire has.
I'm glad I finally was able to read the book after having purchased it so long ago. If you haven't had a chance to read The V V Inn series, I highly recommend that you do.
Vampire Vacation, Book 1:
This is a great paranormal mystery. Alexandria (Dria to her husband Rafe) and Rafe own The V V Inn in Alaska where it's dark 24/7. Because of the name of the inn most customers and people on staff call Alexandria "Vivian" or "Viv." I found this too be an interesting play on words.
It's never a good thing when you're an innkeeper expecting your next wave of guests and, while inspecting the rooms, you find a dead body; especially the dead body of someone not registered as a guest. Throughout the book there is an ongoing search into how the body of John Pierre all while Dria and Rafe tend to all of the guests throughout the inn and beyond to the cabins outside.
The book is told from Alexandria's point of view and is in 1st person present tense. I have a hard time adjusting to 1st person. This book, however, wasn't that bad. The problem I usually have stems from the last of 1st person characters to have any character or personality. Dria and the rest of the cast have personality to boot. There is humor and snark that made me laugh out loud and anger and sadness that I also felt pull on me.
The Hunt, Book 2
After getting her employees and all the current guests involved in the undead-hunt for the bad guy in Book 1, Vampire Vacation, Dria, aka Vivian, and a few of those close to her decide to add this type of activity to the ever growing list of fun you can have at The V V Inn. With Vivian being as powerful as she is, what could possible go wrong? Right?
A great sequel to Vampire Vacation. This one is a bit different, however. It is still told in 1st person present tense but each chapter is told from the perspective of a different character within her seethe.
Ch. 1 = Vivian
Ch. 2 = Rafe
Ch. 3 = Asa
Ch. 4 = Joanna
Ch. 5 = Drew
And so forth and so on.
I really enjoy the different viewpoints drawn out in this manner. It makes shifts in the dialog easier to follow since we know who exactly is talking/thinking/acting at that present moment. Merrie Destefano's "Afterlife: The Resurrection Chronicles" and "Feast" are written in this format and I've reviewed them both on my blog if you'd like to reference them. I'm also in love with The House of Night Books and they are also written this way.
As with the first book, this book, while not as erotic as Vampire Vacation (Book 1), contains strong sexual content throughout the entire novel.
Big Game, Book 3
Book 3 finds our super-vamp, Dria, and her sexy as sin hubby, Rafe on their way to Argentina. With them are some members of the seethe; Paul, Drew, Chelle. Dria and Rafe are bound and determined to figure out who wants them dead. Coming to the Tribunal's base before their intended arrival date doesn't seem to interrupt the plans of those that want Dria and Rafe to disappear...permanently.
Back in Alaska, Asa, Jon, and the rest of the crew there are preparing for the big game hunt when werewolves from various packs come to enjoy the fruits of Dria and Rafe's land. When the wolves become the animals hunted, it's time to figure out who is betraying the compound.
This is another absolutely fantastic book in the world of C.J. Ellisson's vamps and weres.
This installment of The VV Inn series is told in 1st person present tense and like Book 2, The Hunt, each chapter is told from the perspective of a different character within her seethe:
I love the writing style of C.J. Ellisson. Her characters are quirky, humorous, and quite likable--even the bad guys/gals are written in a way that you love to hate them. The suspense of both story lines - who wants Dria dead and who is hunting the wolves - is fantastically written. There are several HOT HOT HOT scenes that certainly leave this book steamy. I really liked the first 2 books in the series but I LOVE book 3. The dual story line keeps you fully engaged in the book. The plot is well developed and while the 2 storylines are in different parts of the hemisphere, Ms. Ellisson keeps them tightly connected. Bravo!

V V INN-DEED! 5 GOLD FANGS
VA-VA-VOOM! A must-read series for anyone who loves paranormal romance with a VAMPDERFUL storyline!! I had the pleasure of discovering the series pretty early on and the wait has all but killed me between books, I LOVE IT THAT MUCH! C.J. has created this PAWTASTIC and FANGELICIOUS series that is so unique and creative that I dare you to put it down once you start! I love the way that C.J. has made this all her own with her Vampires and Wolves having unique abilities, traits, characteristics, histories, world and even where & the way they live all combine together to work some series mojo! I was enthralled from the very start and have been drooling for more about Vivian, Rage, Jon and the rest of the “gang” and I don’t see that EVER changing! If you haven’t already tried this series, you really should! C.J. is a phenomenally talented author who has a genuine gift for writing deep, rich stories that you can lose yourself in, while her VAMPERRIFIC writing style grabs you immediately and before you know it you are living the story right along with the characters! Here is what I have to say about each of the books in this box set:
Death’s Servant
Terrific read!!! 5 Stars
This story is the prequel to the V V Inn series. It is told from Alpha Wolf Jonathan Winchester’s point of view and how he came to be working with vampire Dria & her husband Rafe. I had not read any of these books yet, so this is the one I started with and I loved it! Having a vampire series starting off told from a Wolf’s perspective & story was very original. I found it very entertaining and was surprised at how quickly I fell for these characters! I was like an addict needing their next fix as it is very well written and held my interest all the way through. I am sorry that it took me so long to discover C.J. and her books, but I am glad that I did get here eventually! All in all – this is a must-read book and one that I will be reading over & over again.
Vampire Vacation
A great first full-length novel to an even greater series! 5 stars
This story is told from the view of Vivian, a manipulator vampire who runs an exclusive vacation resort for vampires (and the occasional wolf as well). With Vivian’s powers, exotic rooms, over-the-top services and exclusivity, the V V Inn is a top notch getaway that has a great “slogan” – What happens in Alaska, Stays in Alaska. LOL Quite frankly, this story has such a unique take on Vampires and the lore, that this alone makes it a great read. But add in that it is also very hot, sexy, hilarious and with the hidden intrigue & mysteries, well, you would be a fool to give this one a pass!! I am very glad that I finally did discover this series and cannot wait for more to come! This is one series that will always be kept on my TBR list so that I can read it over & over again through the years!
The Hunt
This book is a winner, fangs down! 5 Bites, I mean Stars! 5 Stars
This is the second full-length novel in the V V Inn series and it follows numerous vampires and wolves who have paid a hefty fee to participate in The Hunt. This is a hunt on a criminal vampire across the Alaskan resort grounds over the course of a week. Since the criminal wants to survive the week as she will be set free if she does, it becomes a no-holds-barred game in which death is very real! As we all are aware, a lot of sequels tank. Well NOT this one! I found this story to actually be even better than Vampire Vacation! (which is not usually the way for me!) I found it more entertaining but only because they are more people added in to the mix, which made it harder to figure out who the “bad guys” were! C.J. also added another unique twist with this story in that it is told from multiple characters POVs, not just Vivian’s or Jon’s. At first I was a little leery of it, but once you get into it and come to love the new characters, it is great to understand them better and their take on the situations. And as I have said before, I don’t know how I missed these books or C.J. but I am happy that I did finally get here & this is one series that will always be kept on my TBR list so that I can read it over & over again through the years!
Big Game
Another worthy story!!! 5 Stars
You do not want to miss out on this book or the rest of the series! Big Game is the third full-length story in the V V Inn series and it is just as awesome as the ones before it. Like The Hunt, it is told through multiple characters POVs, which just makes it a more enriching tale. Following up on the events and findings from the Hunt, Vivian, Rafe and a few of their seethe-mates travel to Argentina to visit the Tribunal’s Base to find out who is plotting against Vivian. As with the last book, this is also told from different POVs and lets some of the Seethe take lead or charge of situations, so you really get a good look into their head and their character. I think that this book is very well written, and just like the rest of the series it is very unique and a terrific fresh take on the vampire lore. And as keep saying, this is one series that will always be kept on my TBR list so that I can read it over & over again through the years! Hopefully C.J. will be able to write more in this series as I think that Vivian, Rafe, Jon & Drew have a lot more adventure in them! Not to mention their other Seethe-mates as well! I am very glad that I finally did discover this series and cannot wait for more to come!

I found it more entertaining but only because they are more people added in to the mix, which made it harder to figure out who the “bad guys” were! C.J. also added another unique twist with this story in that it is told from multiple characters POVs, not just Vivian’s or Jon’s.

Decent stories but...
I didn't need the explicit sex scenes. To be honest, they were written well but it got tedious reading the same stuff over and over. I get it. Dria and Rafe have hot vampire sex. Woo-hoo!! Jonathan needs to get laid. Every werewolf is a horndog. If you can get past all that, the stories in this collection are pretty decent.

I am not usually an Urban Fantasy reader, but after reading the V V Inn Series... I'm hooked! So much so that even though this review is for the new boxed set (Books 1-3 and the Prequel) I have already purchased and read the next two books in the series (Books 4 & 5) and am patiently awaiting Book 6!
Each story combines mystery and intrigue with steamy romance and paranormal drama. I combination I found intriguing. Each book is written in the first person of a character from that story. It took me a little adjusting, but I found I liked the style Ms. Ellison has chosen.
Death's Servant (Prequel) is Jon's story of how he came to be Dria's (aka Alexandria, aka Vivian) Blood Servant.
- After one to many arguments with the Alpha, Jon decides to leave his pack in Manitoba and head towards his old home in Virginia. Along the way he encounters Raine, another wolf who appears to be alone in the worl, and possibly the woman of his dreams.
When Jon discovers Raine's secret he is forced into a moral dilemma... ignore what is happening or sell himself to the devil. The price he will pay for either choice is high... his good conscience or his freedom.
Vampire Vacation (Book 1) is our introduction into Dria' s (Vivian's) vampiric world.
- Dria and Rafe (her human husband) own and run the V V Inn... the high-end resort in remote Alaska. The perfect place for vampires to vacation and indulge in their own fantasies. That is until a body is discovered minutes before the next set of guest are to check in...
The Hunt (Book 2)
- Vivian opens the inn for a "special" hunt... The Tribunal has provided a vampire prisoner to be the hunted... If the vampires and werewolves, who have paid a high price to join this hunt, catch and kill her the reward is well worth the risk. The vampire who is hunted has no intention of being caught... if she can elude and evade capture for 5 days she will be set free.
Big Game (Book 3) There are times when even the hunters become the hunted.
- Vivian and Rafe head to Argentina to try to uncover who is behind all of their resent troubles. Since Alaska is in it;s "sunny" season Vivian decides to leave the inn open to allow the werewolves to do some big game hunting. She is also hoping that Jon will use this time apart to find a mate.

The V V Inn Series Box Set, Books 1-3 & Death's Servant: Adult Urban Fantasy (Kindle Edition)
Welcome to a vacation spot with a little bit of everything for any desire you could ever imagine. You have the natural beauty of the Alaskan wilderness, the luxury of a five star resort, and a vivacious redheaded inn keeper and her loving husband that will make sure your every whim will be met. What more could you ask for? All you need is time, time to get lost in a wonderful world of characters that grow and develop right in front of your eyes in C. J. Ellisson’s collection of Vampire Vacation books.
The first book, Vampire Vacation introduces you to Alexandria (Vivian) and Rafe. One of the things that makes this series so unique is the loving relationship between this couple. Built on that foundation, the twists and turns begin. Your hostess at the VV Inn, is a sexy vampire and her husband a handsome human. She has a loyal werewolf servant, a young ex-military vampire that takes security very seriously, and a cast of characters that will worm their way into your heart.
Vivian has her hands full meeting the needs of her patrons and her staff when a psychopathic vampire, Ivan decides to stir up a whole lot of vengeful trouble for the resort owners. The twists and turns keep you wondering who, or what is going to happen next.
The Hunt picks up where Vampire Vacation leaves off with an inspired idea of the hunt for a rogue vampire. The Ancients graciously send a rogue vampire to be hunted for a nominal fee to Vivian’s resort. There are several takers that buy into the idea and the games begin.
Vivian and Rafe soon find that this idea might be more than they bargained for. Twists and turns abound in more of a suspenseful mystery as C J lets the members of the cast tell the story through their own points of view. The second of the series is just as intriguing as the first as the depth of the characters bloom before your eyes.
The third book in the series The Big Game continues the story. This story unfolds on two fronts. Vivian and Rafe head off to Argentina following up on the twists from The Hunt. While the master’s away, the werewolves want to come and play at the VV Inn. They arrive ready and ready to go on a true hunting vacation. After all Alaska’s known for having big game and it seems like the perfect thing to do during the off season with all of the sunlight. Needless to say, there’s trouble on the home front and Jon and Asa have to step up to the challenges that present themselves along the way. Meanwhile in Argentina, the former tribunal hunter Alexandria (Vivian) becomes the hunted.
The depth of character development that follows along all of the twists in this story keep the reader hooked. It’s a book that begs to be read and it is so hard to put down.
Death's Servant-
A long time ago, in a land far away from the frozen north, a young werewolf found himself on a journey fleeing the pack that took him in and sheltered him as he learned about his transform from ordinary mortal to alpha werewolf. This is the story about one of the favorite characters of the Vampire Vacation series. Vivian’s servant, Jon and how he came to be a part of Dria and Rafe’s life.
After leaving Romeo’s pack Jon met a beauty and fell head over heels in love. But treachery lurked, and Raine’s own trials and tribulations with her own pack pulled Jon into a situation where his youth and his budding alpha didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t go back to his old pack. He’d burned those bridges. He had to find someone that could help Raine and her pack.
C. J. Ellisson has woven a story that answers the questions that I’ve wondered about. How did a young southern werewolf end up being a servant to a vivacious, death dealing vampire that owns a resort in Alaska? What could a very happily married vampire do to earn an alpha werewolf’s supreme loyalty?
I honestly couldn’t put the book down. This collection presents a perfect stop on a fangtastic journey! The VV Inn Series is a wonderful addition to your library.

I am loving this series, having previously read books 1 and 2, I highly recommend it especially now that you can also get all 4 books in one awesome set.
We start with a prequel of DEATH'S SERVANT which is told from Jon's point a view. We are told the story of what he did from the time he left his pack to the time in which he came to Vivian's. We get to see the alpha side of him come out. Who doesn't love an alpha werewolf :)
VAMPIRE VACATION: The best place to go if you are a vampire looking to have a little fun and not have to worry about anyone finding about your true identity. Vivian and Rafe (Vivian's husband/mate) run an Inn where other vamps come to relax and indulge in a few wild fantasies. Vivian has the unique ability to project their wildest fantasies so they truly enjoy themselves, but things aren't all sunshine and rainbows when a killer is now at the inn. Vivian needs to use all of her power to keep the inn running smoothly, and keep all of her employees/seethe safe while tracking down the killer. But what they didn't know was that although it is a tragedy to have this killer at the inn it can turn in to a great idea for something fun for her guests in the future.
THE HUNT: What a fun way to spend a vacation....if you were a vampire, or werewolf.
When Vampire Vacation ended with demise of Ivan, and the addition of new members to the "family", a fun idea was brought to the table to have a "hunt" of a rouge vampire. What Vampire wouldn't want to have the opportunity to come out of hiding for a little bit of fun. Vampires and werewolves team up to hunt one of their own. Little did they know that they maybe hunted at the same time as well. Vivian has to keep tabs on all within her family and try to figure out what the true story behind the rouge vampire is before its to late.
C.J Ellisson has done it again, she has a magical ability to suck you in to a story, and transport you to the Alaskan wilderness where you come part of the hunt as well. You will be racking you brain trying to figure out the truth around every twist and turn.
I am loving this series and love the bringing together of vampires, were wolves, shape-shifters, in a mysterious action packed contemporary romance. As in all the books of this series they all start where the previous one ended. Just like in BIG GAME: Hot off the hunt of the rouge vampire, Vivian and Rafe along with a couple of her seethe head to the Tribunal's base to find out who is plotting against them and why. They travel to Argentina earlier then Vivian normally does to try to catch who is out to get them off guard. While they are in Argentina, Jon and Asa stay behind at the inn although this is a little unsettling for Jon who has never been this far from Vivian's side before. But he is excited for the guests that are about to arrive. For the first time the inn is open to Were's so they can hunt for big game during the summer months where there is more daylight, awayfrom a that may try to harm them or so you think. Both groups seem to be finding some trouble and you will definitively be on the edge of your seat and thinking to you self "whats going to happen next" and "how do they plan to get out of this one?"

I do not typically read fantasy, but I am so glad I read these books. They were amazing. There was romance and sex, but more suspense and danger. I thought the number of characters was going to be confusing, but they were added at such a steady pace with very distinctive characteristics to each one that they were easy to keep separated.
The first book brings back someone from Vivian's past, allowing us to learn part of her history without being inundated with all the information. Being many centuries old, it would be really difficult to know all her history! The connection between Rafe and Vivian is deep and intense, with such devotion it is something above and beyond most novel romances. Throw in the slight complication of werewolf Jon and you see the reality of a relationship that is tested, but solid. I loved the growth that Vivian went through from having no one other than Rafe and Jon, to adding Asa, Drew, Paul and Joanna. With the end of one enemy in Vivian's life brings to light many more.
In the second book, two more enemies come to try and best Vivian and her seethe on her land with the ploy of a hunt. This story also bring a wonderful discovery for Asa, the reunion of Jon with his old pack, growth to his current pack, and the beginning of something Jon is in desperate need of. Nothing is what is seems with her enemies, add the extra responsibility of her knew seethe and Vivian is on edge and rightfully stressed. She take a leap of faith and trusts her new members with her gift, and with that they devise a plan or attack. Unfortunately, nothing ever goes as planned!
In the third book the main enemy from book two comes back and the trouble with them comes to a head. Vivian and Rafe try to surprise their enemies on their turf to hunt them down, only to have the surprise turned on them. Jon is left at the resort to handle the game hunt with the wolves. Like always, nothing goes as planned. The danger and death that follow both hunts is heightened then in previous books with leads to amazing conclusions. The romance is still steady throughout, and the new development with Jon is something I waited for since the first mention of him in book one! With Vivian having no end to her enemies, there is always something unanswered with her, always some sort of cliffhanger, but more questions are answered then left open.
I can't wait to read then next book to see what more comes of these characters. Although the subject is a little dark, the innate goodness of each of the main members of the seethe and the pack make you look forward to each new read. The danger and suspense makes it exciting and makes your heart race, but you know in the end Vivian and Rafe will be stronger than before and all members of the seethe will do everything in their powers to protect Vivian and try to make a good life for themselves and find someone to spend it with.

Death's Servant is the prequel to The VV Inn series, but with this particular prequel you don't necessarily have to have read the other books to be able to follow along.
When Jon has a falling out with the leader of his pack and decides to leave, he has no idea what his future has in store for him, but boy is it a bumpy & crazy ride. C.J. takes us on a wild, fun-filled, emotional ride. You get to see how Jon develops on his own away from his pack, how he meets Viv & Rafe, and what everyone goes through emotionally as a result of their meeting. I literally ran the gambit of emotions with this novella...laughing, crying, love, etc. From the very first page I didn't want to put the book down. As usual with C.J.'s books, I lost tons of sleep in order to read the book, but it was worth every minute of it!!
Vampire Vacation, Book #1: Oh my goodness, where to begin??? When I first purchased this series, I did so at the encouragement of a friend. I had no idea what amazing books I was getting. Vampire Vacation (VV Inn) is so full of love, sex, mystery, excitement, etc. that I couldn't put it down. C.J. Ellisson has a flair to her writing that just makes you fall in love with the characters she's writing about. What's not to love about couples that are so in love and in tune with each other that they just know what the other thinks or how they feel? This a truly captivating book and I look forward to reading more :)
The Hunt is a great continuation of Vampire Vacation. There are so many twists and turns that make it impossible to put the book down. Again, C.J. has a way of making you fall in love with the characters, sit on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next and praying that your favorite characters will come out unscathed. Job very well done and now onto Big Game!!
The third book in an awesome series! This book sucks you in and runs rampant on your emotions. There is such passion, love, mystery and action in this book that you won't know what's coming next. The love between Rafe and Viv is like no other and every turn leaves you wanting more. C.J. has done an amazing job yet again. Her way of creating characters that are so real is awe-inspiring. I got so drawn in to the book that I simply could not put it down. I really hope there will be more books in this series. Long live The V V Inn :)

Death's Servant
I could tell this was a good book because I didn't want it to end. The story answered many of the questions I've had about the history of how Jon met Vivian and Rafe and why he's with them. It also answered the question I had regarding the underlying tension between the men that I've seen in the chronologically later books (Vampire Vacation, The Hunt, and Big Game). Also, if you want to learn more about "were blood addiction" you need to read this book. It is all spelled out.
Vampire Vacation
Very good and exciting new series. I can't wait to read the rest. I enjoy the subtle complexity of the main character. I also liked how her life and history were slowly, appropriately, and methodically laid out. All of the main characters in this book were well defined and developed. A gold star for the author.
The Hunt
My favorite of the bunch. The book is not from one perspective, but changes off among several characters from Vivian's seethe. On a general principle I don't like it when books are written this way as often it can be confusing for unsophisticated readers, but I do have to admit the author did a great job handling it. I also have to admit that it added alot to the overall story as the reader was able to have insight to thoughts and motivations of the main characters that comprise the seethe without having actions shaded by Vivian's interpretation of what she sees and hears. For example, I so want to see Jon find someone, want to learn more about Drew's changing and history, and Asa also has peaked my interest. So to sum up, another great book.
Big Game
Ok, I know the author considers this to be her best book in the series and I have to agree. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the previous books as well, but reading this one had me more on the edge of my seat. I sincerely hated to have it end. The revelation of who is behind the tribunal attacks was interesting and I can't wait for the next book. I like the main characters more and more and enjoyed seeing a new side to Rafe that I expected based in his acceptance of Vivian and hints at his own past. Drew really appears to be torn between his past Victorian human self and that of being a vampire however he does appear to be steadfast in his support of the seethe. I do wonder what's up with Cy though. Like I said, can't wait until the next one.

This has got to be one of my top fave's as far as paranormal romance series. It truly has everything and this box set is so well done that even though I had all of the seperate books I had to have this set as well. It includes Death's Servant (which is a prequel novella which shows us some of Jonathan's backstory and how he met Vivian and Rafe), Vampire Vacation (book 1) The Hunt (Book 2 - which takes place just a couple months after the events of Vampire Vacation) and Big Game (Book 3).
This series has a bit more of a mystery content in it so you get way more than your typical paranormal vampire romance! But don't get me wrong there is quite a bit of romance if you get my drift ;) Vivian and Rafe are such an intense couple and their interactions are the standouts in my opinion. Vivian is one of my all time favorite heroines because she is so strong and in control she's totally got things handled haha. Now things get complicated at times and she needs Rafe to be her voice of reason sometimes (someone's got to help her keep that killer instinct in check!) but they have a strong relationship and that keeps them evenly matched.
One of the things I love about C.J.'s writing is her world building and massive cast of characters! She gives us such an descriptive view of how the Inn looks and how the air feels or how much sunlight or lack thereof affects the storyline and it gives the reader such a complete picture that we feel like we are right there! And all of the different characters gives us many points of view to see what's going on and how different people view those events differently for example a older vampire might see things one way than a vampire who is not as old might see the exact same event and than a human would (don't even get me started on the wolf element!) so really there is something for everyone! If you like vampires? Cool, got you covered! Werewolves? Yep, got one of those too!
Last thoughts? If you haven't gotten to experience this series yet, you are going to want to grab this box set, devour it and then grab the rest of the books in this series now! Come join the Seethe of readers worldwide who love these books! We won't bite much promise ;)

I am very honored to read and review C. J. Ellison's V.V. Inn Box set. I had read the first book awhile back and let the others sit on TBR list long enough. This box sex includes the prequel and the first three books, which I will break down for you here.
1. DEATH'S SERVANT (Prequel Novella). This is the back story on Jonathan. It gives the reader great insight on just how Jon became the human servant to Dria. Must read!
2. VAMPIRE VACATION (Book 1). I love this book. It's told in first person via Dria (aka Vivian). She is one hot ticket, a half-century-year-old vampire with unique talents, especially with her human partner, Rafe, alongside her. They run a supernatural inn in Alaska together, which is definitely an interesting setting. They run into some trouble when a dead body shows up...but it all works out in the end. Lots of adventure, steamy sex, and good times!
3. THE HUNT (Book 2). This one was a bit slower than #1. Unlike the previous stories this one is told from 5 characters' perspectives, which can get a bit tricky, but C.J. pulls it off well. It's titled "the Hunt" as the plot revolves around the hunt of a rogue vampire whom is brought forth by the treacherous Tribunal, and one of Dria's arch-enemies. More action, adventure, and sexiness with great character development and insight.
4. BIG GAME (Book 3). This book is by far my favorite in the series (of those that I have read). Dria, Rafe, and a small part of their seethe go off to their summer home in Argentina, leaving behind Jon and his pack, and Asa. The book cycles through perspectives again and there are 2 plot lines going on but it all flows smoothly into one fantastic read.
Next to read in the series is:
Death Times Two (Book 4) which I will have to download tonight.

Death’s Servant
Jon finds that his girlfriend has betrayed him. He’s decided on a change of scenery and meets Raine. He has some feelings for her but he gets more then he bargained for. Jon lives on his adrenaline. It’s what helps him get out of situations. This is a book where the werewolf has center stage and the vampires are the secondary characters.
In this book, the mystery revolves around what the vampires are doing to the werewolves. Jon is a man who’s had a change in his life and now has to act the alpha and step up to the plate to take care of those that may harm his kind. It was a great way to start this series and it also shows why this series should be read in order. This is a book that you will have no trouble finishing in one sitting.
Vampire Vacation
Vivian has come upon a scene that none of us would ever want to. She’s a woman who keeps some of who she is close to her chest. Rafe is her loving and understanding husband. They have a staff that goes above and beyond for their guests. Mystery and suspense then make up the rest of this story. Will it get solved by the end? Will it continue in the next book? Only you can decide.
If you love a good paranormal then you’ll love this book. Getting it as part of a set is just one better. Vivian is a vampire who can mind-speak with her husband. Can you imagine how cool it would be to do that with your significant other? They’re also one sexy couple. To kick it up a notch, the author adds in the werewolf. Adding in some tension just adds to your reading experience. One of the jobs of an author is to make the story interesting so that you will want to read until you get to the end and this author has certainly accomplished that here.

Vampire Vacation – I am really enjoying this series and love Rafe and Vivian. Love the setting with the inn and the intensity of everything that this inn has to offer. The mysteries that unfold are exciting and unsettling all at the same time. This series put a different twist on Vampires and Werewolves.
The Hunt – I am really enjoying this series and love Rafe and Vivian. Love the setting with the inn and the intensity of everything that this inn has to offer. The mysteries that unfold are exciting and unsettling all at the same time. This series put a different twist on Vampires and Werewolves. This is an edge of the seat kind of story.
Big Game – This book was intense and kept me at the edge of my seat. I think I even held my breath at couple of points. Dria and Rafe are my absolute favorite characters in this series. Jon made me laugh at his reactions toward another shifter of his former pack. I have to say this whole series so far has kept my attention from the very first book to the present book.
Death's Servant - I have to say my favorite part about reading a novel is when the author writes a side story to a particular character. This one is about Jon and how he came to know Dria. Watching his story unfold was an experience. Jon a lone wolf finally finds love and a sense of family. His determination to save a wolf pack is strong and he will stop at nothing to help for a chance at love. This story was short but not too short and keeps you wanting more of the story.

Having previously read all four of the books in this collection I can highly recommend, especially now they're conveniently available together as a box set.
Vampire Vacation - Really enjoyed this book. Great storyline and some exciting chapter endings making me want to read just that bit more to find out what was going to happen next. Can't wait to read more.
The Hunt - Loved this second part of the V V Inn series, so many twists and turns, just when you thought you knew where the story was going something unexpected would happen. Really liked the way the story was told from the viewpoint of several main characters giving the reader that extra insight into all the members of the seethe. Can't wait for the third book but also like the tidbits from Dria's long past - maybe a prequel?
Big Game - Having already read the first two books I thoroughly enjoyed this eagerly awaited third part of the V V Inn series. Sexy vampires & weres fight their battles separately in Argentina & Alaska, a real two for the price of one book, with the two separate stories blending well together. Plenty of action throughout, a highly recommended read!
Death’s Servant - Having read & thoroughly enjoyed all the books in the VV Inn series I couldn't wait to read this prequel. It's always great to read about how characters originally met and this novella did not disappoint. Plenty of action as well as an insight into several of the characters from the series, not just Jon, Dria & Rafe.

this has been a brilliant series to read, Vivian and Rafe are the main couple who co own the specialised resort where the paranormal go for their vacations where they can be themselves and enjoy their fantasies. the characters fill your imagination with mystery, sensuality, attitude and total adventure in a very hot adult way that totally draws you in and you have to keep going to see how it all goes. I won't do spoilers because I think anyone who loves vampires and shifters will absolutely love this in an amazing way. Well worth reading and deserves more than the 5 star rating.

I had a chance to reread these, in order, with this box set-I think CJ Ellisson did a nice job of ordering these-while it worked fine to read them in the order I did originally (VV TH BG DS), it feels better to read about Jon first, and get a feel for him; and starting with Jon's thoughts/feelings, when he's a new Were, And Vampire Vacation knowing Vivian/Dria's thoughts, and seeing from her perspective, sets up the rest of the books in the series nicely, with multiple points of view. (Originally reading VV I was not able to guess what was going to happen to who; other than Dria survives, otherwise there would not be more books! I love that in a story, not formulaic.) In The Hunt, I was amazed at just how tough, and smart, Emiko is; and in Big Game, it was interesting to me to see how the Tribunal runs vampire affairs, and just how like a bureaucratic organization it is. (not really the main point of the book, but it amused me-OK I am strange). All of these are well written, and even having read them before, I still had some anxiety about what was going to happen. If you are reading these for the the first time, very suspenseful, somewhat sexy dramatic tales!

this box set is awesome. the series is one of the best i have ever read. and if you are like me you will want the next book in the series handy for when you are done with one. after reading Death's Servant i was hooked. this tells of how Jon finds Vivian and Rafe and become part of the Inn. wether you read this first or third is all good. its just a prequil.
Vampire Vacation is an interesting concept. Vampire, human, werewolf trio running an exclusive inn in Alaska. murder, sex, mystery, told by Vivian herself.
The Hunt takes us from where the vaction ends. Deciding to hunt rogue vampire. who doesnt love a hunt. more sex, murder, mystery twists and turn. told by diferent people in the book. easy to read, you can hear each of their voices speaking to you as the story gets more and more involved, never really taking you where you think it is, love it.
Big Game takes us to Argentina for the daylight season of alaska, meet the council, kidnap, torture, more murder and sex. just cant get enuf. this book takes you back and forth between alaska and argentina. meet new members of the inn. these books will leave you wanting more. more more

I started reading this as one of my first Prime lending library picks and was instantly hooked. My husband read over my should one night and asked me to send it to his Kindle. We devoured this book, the second book, and then JLD. We can't wait for the Big Game to come out and I have actually been checking every other day just to see if it has been released early. I actually went back and purchased the book after so I could have it on my Kindle for re-reading anytime.
I don't understand the recent negative reviews, but everyone is allowed their opinion. We think C.J.'s writing style and stories are excellent. Her writing and descriptions of the characters as well as their surroundings paints a vivid picture for both my husband and I. As we read each book we discuss the chapters and sometimes have a race to see who can finish the book first because we don't want to put them down. The adult nature of her books has also spiced up our marriage too, which is a nice bonus. We are looking forward to the future books in the V V Inn series.

I've read all these book's and have to say if I could take a vacation at V.V. Inn I would be there in a flash! I absolutely Love Vivian and Rafe,,,they make such a wonderful couple. The characters in these stories are very interesting and likable people...there's Vivian the vampire that's so old and so smart, there's her human husband Rafe who is her other half, then you have a werewolf or two maybe more, plus lot's more vampires and a few "other" characters. The setting is in beautiful Alaska and you couldn't ask for a better setting. The thing's that go on in the V V Inn will keep you on your toes! C.J.Ellisson has these characters and location down pat! And the excitement she brings in these stories are awesome. I definitely recommend reading not just these book's but anything else this author put's out! If you love paranormal and you love love these are the stories for you!

Amazing Paranormal Adventures - I was addicted to this series from the very first book. Well written, great story line, each book is independent of the others, so while they do all connect to form a larger story, you can read each one individually. However, I would recommend beginning with the first and going from there. If you like paranormal mystery, intrigue, and sexy encounters, these are the books for you. Follow Vivian as she expands her seethe, has some wicked fun with her Inn guests, gets into some harrowing situations and works on untangling the bigger web of trouble that's been woven into her life. You will find laughs, suspense, adventure and sexy encounters. Again, I love, love, LOVE this series and cannot wait for the next in the series to be released. I hope you get hooked just like I did. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Alaska vacation spot for vampires. Vivian and her husband Rafe are the sexy owners of the VV INN. Vivian is a vampire and Rafe is a human. They are in love and so hot and sexy. vampire Vacation is the first story of CJ I read and I fell in love with the characters. In the Vampire Vacation there is a killer on the grounds and Vivian will do what ever it takes to keep Rafe and everyone safe. In the Hunt a vampire that is sentenced to years in silver come and try to win freedom. In the Big Game Vivian and Rafe go to Argentina and go to see the ancient ones. You should read the series. You will like the vampire and other paranormal.

The V V Inn Series Box Set, Books 1 - 3 is what you need. C.J. Ellisson has the ability to grab her readers from the prologue and keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page and even then you will want more.

I was hooked from the first chapter of this series. The in depth history of the characters was just so insightful and made you fall in love with them and know how they became what they are. The way the story unfolds sets the scene for a well told book. The action packed, edge of your seat action combined with the spine tingling suspense is just outstanding! This is the series to add to your collection and to be read and re-read again and again! The play on the words in the title and the name of the heroine is just masterful and pure genius!

Great deal on an amazing series
If you're looking for a quirky, well written paranormal romance, then look no farther. I've read quite a lot of vampire romances over the years and these rank near the top of my list.

I purchased each of these book separately when they first came out. Glad they are in a boxed set now so others can just keep reading without stopping. Vivian, Rafe and Jon are such engaging characters and the stories just draw you into their world and you don't want to leave. You seriously need to read every single book in this series.
