Loved it! I read this book from covereth-to-covereth and had my new camera beside me to try examples and experiment.

First, the book has glossy pages with lots of color and graphic examples. There are labels on screenshots and explanations galore! There are also example pictures of what happens using a certain setting(s) or how to improve a shot.

The book is divided into 4 parts:

Part 1 - Fast Track to Super Snaps
*Chapter 1 - Getting Up and Running
*Chapter 2 - Choosing Basic Picture Settings
*Chapter 3 - Taking Great Pictures, Automatically

Part 2 - Taking Creative Control
*Chapter 4 - Taking Charge of Exposure
*Chapter 5 - Controlling Focus and Depth of Field
*Chapter 6 - Mastering Color Controls
*Chapter 7 - Putting it all Together
*Chapter 8 - Shooting and Viewing Movies

Part 3 - After the Shot
*Chapter 9 - Picture Playback
*Chapter 10 - Working with Picture adn Movie Files

Part 4 - The Part of Tens
*Chapter 11 - Ten more ways to customize your camera
(changing the function of the set button; customizing the AE lock and shutter button, preventing shutter release without a memory card; creating your own camera menu; custom folders)
*Chapter 12 - Ten Features to Explore on a Rainy Day
(enabling mirror lockup; adding cleaning instructions to images; tagging files with your copyright claim; adding special effects; presenting a slide show; trimming movies, wi-fi)

Nicely done!

This book was well put together and organized. Very informative for a beginning photographer (like me) who does not know what aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other camera/photographer lingo are. There are a lot of examples explaining what these aforementioned exposure settings are and how to use them; examples included the use of colored pictures and graphics.

I liked the introduction explaining the different parts of the camera and the detailed information about the camera settings. Very helpful and informative.

I would definitely recommend this book to someone who has never owned a camera like this one so that you can learn the ins and outs of your camera and how to apply exposure settings.

Much easier to read than the manual that comes with the camera!
