Layer of Lies is an easy quick-read thriller. If you’re in the mood for a light mystery about everyday people pulled into impossible situations, you’ll probably enjoy it.
Great for those times you want a mystery, but nothing that will give you nightmares or make you want to double-lock your doors.
I’m a big Dickson fan, and it was interesting to see her earlier work and see how she has evolved and developed her voice as a writer.
I enjoyed the drama and excitement of this book. It kept me entertained with no down time. I love the plot and the determination of the main characters. The author does a great job of details and keeping you in suspense throughout the story. I am glad that I read this book. I am going to be looking into more works from this author!
Sally has come home from work and Dan her live in boyfriend is not home. He was there went she went to sleep the previous night, but she could not find anything that showed he had been in the house from the time she awoke to now. Has he just left her or has something more sinister happened. No one seems to believe Sally when she says their relationship was fine. Get on board for more twists and turns than a roller coaster. The only problem I had was the reluctance to involve the police as the story unfolds. All in all a good book
I enjoyed Ms Dickson'!s writing style and the story line. It kept me interested throughout and I really liked her characters' personalities. I'll definitely will give her other books a try!
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crime fiction. It is not just for women, even though it was written with a woman as the main character. The surprise come midway through the story, so be patient. It's worth the wait.
Pretty predictable ending. I did enjoy reading a book with no real smut or filthy words for a change. Sort of all over the place at, times. Don't want to read another anytime soon.
Slow start and once I got into the book wanted to see justice done. Not fond of the ending but guess the title "layers of Lies" sets the ending and opens the door for a sequel.
