I'm still not overly fond of Allison. She rolled over and let the man she's falling for, Hunter, date her sister. Wtf. What's funny is that they both gave her an out and she didn't take it. I could tell that Hunter knew she was hurt. I'm glad he didn't let this last for too long.

What was the deal with Allison talking to Chuck about how she feels about Hunter? There were many ways that Chuck proved he wasn't an ally, worst of which was trying to take Knox Bourbon away from Hunter. There were no set of circumstances to make what she did okay. Her loyalty frickin sux!

Aside from all that, I wanted to commend this author's writing. Although these books are short, they're packed with just enough to keep things interesting.

This installment had me terrified. Nervous. Tapping my fingers on the side table. Chewing on my nail. ok, you get it: I was uncomfortably reading and praying that Hunter wasn't really dating Ally's sister. Or is he?! Fuckity fuck fuck!

Despite Ally's inability to force the truth through her lips that YES she is fucking jealous and NO she doesn't want Hunter even looking at her sister, I still liked her. Because she's brilliant, and frankly - I get her. Her insecurities are fed by her mother (as only a mother could) and force her actions. She doesn't mean to neglect herself - she's been trained to always come in second. However, Hunter's not quite done with her, no matter what she says.

We're once again treated to a cold splash of straight Hunter. If that were a drink I'd drown myself in it. The heat is turned way up and I gratefully lapped up every scene. The chemistry is perfectly seasoned and sweetly sensual. *licks lips*

I also laughed my fucking ass off because Lila is one of the funniest goddamn geniuses I have ever had the pleasure to read. There are so many laugh-out-loud scenes that I almost felt bad at Ally's misfortune. Almost. It also helps that her characters are easily lovable and spill from the pages. So good!

This series has me licking the drops from the bottom of the glass. Funny AND sexy, Billionaire With a Twist 2 is rich with everything you want....except for the ending - ah! Save me, Book 3!

Sweet Jesus, Mary and Joseph! This journey that Lila is taking us on is incredible. When this book starts, I am dying along with Ally. Then things take a turn and I feel like I am flying with all the happiness. And then the end comes and the cliffhanger that Lila gives us leaves me gutted. So gutted that I think my heart actually stops and the tears start flowing.

This story picks up where Part One ends; Hunter walking into dinner with Paige on his arm. Ally knows that he can see anyone that he chooses, but seeing him with her sister is just too much. Ally is a strong, independent individual, but everyone has their breaking point and she is quickly coming to that point.

Hunter is deliciously seductive with a set of very kissable lips. Lips that you want all over you. He knows that he must do everything to keep the business in his hands, but he also wants Ally and will do anything to get her to admit she wants him just as badly. Even with his determination and a sneaky plan, Ally is a wild card that could bring his empire down with a few choice words to the wrong people.

Ally and Hunter, after working through their issues and the whole Paige matter, finally start a steamy affair that both have been dying to have since their first meeting.

But just as this affair starts, something happens that implodes this couple and ends everything they just started. Can our couple find a way to make things right and start anew, or have we seen the last of these two.

Seriously, Lila knows how to tell a story that will capture you, hold you hostage, and leave you dangling in the wind while you want for the next part of the series. Hunter is just like his liquor, smooth and tasty. Ally has spunk and fire that makes her desirable. Put these two together and it's like a wild fire roaring out of control.

This story will have you laughing, crying, dying, and burning hot. Lila has never let us down, so I look forward to see how this story will end. Will Hunter and Ally walk into the sunset, happily ever after or will they walk away from each other. I'm hoping it's the former.

Oh my ANGSTY GOD!!! There is nothing that I love more than a book filled with angst and jealousy. I'm a goner for these types. And Lila Monroe has fulfilled my wants in this book!!
Part 2 starts right where part 1 left us. With Hunter joining Allison's sister, Paige, at her family dinner. And let the angst begin!!! Allison thinks she's doing the right thing by staying away from Hunter. She pretends that's she's not bothered by him seeing her sister. And we all know how that goes. But will Hunter see that Allison is truly seething with jealousy? Add to this, the Douchebros, aka her coworkers. I honesty don't think I've hated a group of guys as much as I hate them. They are a perfect addition to this story. They are a shady bunch, after Allison's job. But is Allison strong enough to kick all their asses?? And then that ending. Good god that ending. I'm not going to say anything about it, because I hate spoilers. But I will say I have become a crazed woman constantly refreshing my kindle and praying that part 3 will magically appear on it. Because I NEED IT!!!
I also have to give another shoutout to Miss Monroe's expertise in Food Porn. I was craving blueberry pancakes with chocolate syrup at 3 am. And the sexy times. Holy hot!! Imagine if she somehow incorporated chocolate syrup in with the sexy times. I think I would spontaneously combust!!!

If you have not yet picked this series up, do it now!! I will be sitting here patiently refreshing my kindle in the mean time.

This book is more of a novella length. It was angsty, but more than that, it was mean. I'm especially disappointed in Ally's sister. I'm glad that Ally rose above it all and maintained her professionalism (mostly, anyway). The cliffhanger ending of this book seemed a little OTT and unrealistic to me. The douchebros and Chuck were still the one faceted, sexist and ignorant baddies. Even though this story a little boring, I'm hoping for a HEA for the MCs.

So, I thought I would give this a go since the first book literally left me hanging when he walked in with her sister, as her date at a family dinner. Yeah, he still dates her sister when he knows it upsets her....literally a day later...tried to read it, but it just pissed me off. Clearly a guy not worth her time, even if he was trying to make her jealous...who does that? Don't bother...not worth the wasted time.

So to have the guy you want more than anything, the one you can’t stop thinking about but can’t really have due to work conflicts, walk in on a date with your sister is possibly the worst thing that could probably happen. Add the fact that they seem really happy in each others company and you will want to cry and throw up as much as Ally does.

Rabbit caught in headlights comes to mind when Ally sees Hunter walk in with her sister on his arm. All she can think about is that they have been dating and he cheated on her sister with her – talk about nightmare. Hunter soon clears it up that they have just met so she feels a little better. That is until he asks whether it would be ok for him to date her. All she can think about is how happy her sister looked and that of course it wouldn’t be a problem for them to date. She is just going to have to live in her own personal hell throughout the rest of the evening – she’s going to need a drink!

After coming up with a killer idea for the whole campaign Hunter insists that Paige, Ally’s sister, help with the launch party for it and after telling him that she couldn’t be happier with them dating she can hardly say no. The more time she sees them spending together the more her heart breaks and she in turn makes some very unwise decisions – getting drunk at a fundraiser and venting to the man who is trying to take Hunters company away from him is so not a good idea. But it does mean that Hunter can get a good reaction from her when he drives them home after. Being on the tipsy side she is much more vocal with her feelings and when he growls at her to just admit she is jealous that’s exactly what she does. She just doesn’t realise that he only went along with ‘dating’ Paige to get her to admit that what they have is real and worth fighting for. She just has to tell Paige the truth about them hoping she will be ok but Paige might have a surprise of her own to tell in return.

Now the fun between Hunter and Ally can really begin. Getting thrown from a horse into a lake not fun, stripping down after and getting down and dirty with the guy you want more than your next breath very hot fun. Once they give into their feelings, more importantly lust, for one another they just can’t seem to stay apart. But with Ally’s overcautious boss checking in with her and Hunters Company hanging in the balance on this campaign can their relationship hold true or will it all start falling apart.

Just gets better and better and what a cliffhanger again so glad I had the next one to go straight into again because I’m not sure I would have wanted to wait. Ally and Hunter have such easy back and forth witty banter between them that it is a joy to read. All I can say is that Chuck is a snake and Ally should have stayed clear of him – can’t wait for him to get his comeuppance.

The ending of book 1 had me on tender hooks so when I opened my Kindle to find part 2 sitting there waiting to be read I screamed with excitement and trepidation. I was anxious to see how things would transpire but also worried about what I would read.

I could not believe that Hunter was dating Ally’s sister; I mean her sister FFS, what was wrong with this man, was he doing it to get back at Ally, what were his motivations or even what he was thinking……

Oh Ally, my heart dropped at the same time as hers when she saw her sister on Hunters arm and yes I cursed her to bits for not being forthright and telling him exactly how she felt about him, I mean come on woman, you love this man so tell him. No Ally had to be all professional and say nothing so it did not jeopardise their working relationship.

The thing you have to realise about Ally is that her mother has put her down for so long she starts to believe the words; she is very insecure in herself and feels that she is not worth his affections. She was always in her sister’s shadow as a child and now as an adult and her mother, OMG I could strangle her with some of the things she comes out with.

Hunter is his usual sexy self and if he were real I would be searching everywhere for him. The chemistry is electric between these two and you can’t help but want Ally and Hunter to get it on.
Hunter does have a past though and towards the end we were left with a secret to find out about and a heart rendering cliff-hanger

Lila Monroe knows how to write a great book. The story is so well written that you get so caught up in the antics of these two. There is so much chemistry in this book between Ally and Hunter that has you salivating but also Lila has given us a book that will have you laughing at these people until you have a stitch. I loved this book so much

I can’t wait to read book 3 to continue with these two.

So here I was, happy as a pig in sh*t thinking the world had righted itself and the story was already on its way to a fairy tale HEA ending. Boy, was I wrong!

Granted, some complications from the last installment (which I won't go into detail about here, because I refuse to ruin a story for anyone!) were fixed rather early on in this book. Therefore, giving me a false sense of contentment. Just when I was feeling hopeful and comfortable I just KNEW that Ally's actions were going to come back and haunt her. The jerks that work at her company and just can't stand that a woman might be smarter or better at their job than any of them have been just looking for a way to bring her down.

One of them took advantage of a vulnerable moment when Ally made the mistake of trusting him, thinking he might be a friend. She opened up about some stuff that this so-called friend twisted and used to his advantage at the big re-branding reveal Hunter and Ally have been working tirelessly on. The unveiling of their new ad had went over splendidly, but the poisonous words of her colleagues/competition ruined everything. By "everything", I mean you have to read the story to see just how much this man was able to crush with his vindictiveness.

I don't know what's in the future now for Ally and Hunter, Ally's job, or even Hunter's family legacy that is his bourbon business. It's all up in the air and the evil Lila Monroe is making us wait until the next installment to find out! Good thing we still love her because her writing is so kick-a** that it's worth the wait for the next book!!

My anxiety was on high alert throughout this entire book, but in the best way possible. The added anticipation that something had to happen, that there were shadows lurking in the corners, brought a whole new element to the experience. I noticed everything. Every detail was brought to life and waiting to be discovered.

Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off. Poor Allison is sacrificing her happiness to make sure that her sister isn't hurt, but how much can she take before the jealousy turns to hurt and she explodes?

Hunter is as delicious as ever with his seductively teasing dance. That man is walking sex-- one look, and POOF insta-pregnant. What adds to his sex-on-a-stick waltz, you ask? He appears to know something that we all don't. This alpha male is in control and does so with ease. And I have to say this: Adonis who knows how to handle a horse with ease -- panty-melter.

If I thought that I couldn't love these characters any more after book one, I was wrong. The character development is such that I feel like I know them like a friend. The inner and spoken dialog is magnificently written, depicting everyday conversations. Everything flows with the seductive ease of the caramel colored bourbon into a clear ice-filled bar glass.

To say I am eagerly anticipating book 3 is an understatement. Lila Monroe has done it again. She has won my heart with her steamy, witty and absolutely perfect tales, and left me begging for another taste.

Ally is determined to take her career to new heights. So, Hunter dating Paige should be fine. I mean she's the one who wanted to keep the relationship professional in the first place.

Hunter should be focused on one thing and one thing ONLY- the family business. But, that's hard to do when the woman responsible for rebranding the company also serves as a distraction.

They should both walk away before things get out of control.

Alright....I like to give every author a title. Some skill they're uniquely good at. Lila has officially been crowned the Queen of furtive angst. You know when a moment happens in a book that it's going to change the entire time later on. But you're so blissfully ignorant when things are going well. Then.......BAM!!!! Your heart drops to the bottom of your stomach and you want to kick yourself for forgetting such vital information. Or better yet you're ready to smack a character that was once your favorite for even putting you in this situation.

Keep those shots coming! This is a brilliant continuation of Hunter & Ally's story! You will feel the emotions Ally goes through. You will feel the angst and be on the edge of your seat, waiting for what comes next, and you will feel the fireworks when these two come together! Hunter Knox will melt your heart in this one! Allison is a smart gal but we all make mistakes, especially when your heart is broken and alcohol is involved! Will the mistake she makes be too far to come back from? I can't wait to find out! I am absolutely loving this series!! Lila Monroe has rocked it again!!!

An Amusing quick read

I wanted to rate this lower, but I find myself hooked enough that I can't rate it lower than a four star. I'm not a huge fan of super soft serial style books, but Lila Monroe at least is keeping me amused. Alison has some fun one liners, but I do want to shake her on occasion (how in the world a person could stay in a job that treats you so horribly). I also felt the constant plot of Alison gets really drunk and does something was getting a little old. Hunter has me on the fence - sometimes I really like him and other times I want to punch him. Will still be finishing the series because I'm just curious how the conclusion is reached.

I read all three parts as one, an additional book added into Mr. Right-Now. I honestly loved the technicalities of bourbon and beer and southern manners and expectations. I feel like the drama wasn't as terrible or easy to spot as it could have been and I really enjoyed all of the characters. It's a hot and sweet romance that felt more realistic than some others in this genre. I was a little annoyed by how overplayed the creepy, leery men thing was, but it fit.

Okay, so after the last cliffhanger we are all thinking... O.M.G! How awkward is this! What is going to happen now? Everyone seems to be asking Ally if she is okay with what is happening and she says yes!!! Of course really, she's dying inside. And who could blame her? I mean, I wanted to scream at the events unfolding. I couldn't believe it...

description

I did enjoy this part of the story. I certainly wanted to do that to Hunter ;)

*I deeply pondered how much it would hurt my career if I walked up to him and kicked him in the balls right at that moment.*

But in her moment of despair, Ally finds the most unlikely companions and gets her inspiration. I definitely loved this scene in the bar. However, things get awkward again and Ally is finding it hard to keep back her real emotions. They tend to spill out at certain moments which is hilarious for us. Not so much for her lol.

In this book, we do see more interactions with Ally and her family. Not to mention the men who are trying to steal her thunder. I really dislike these men. Especially Chuck. What a snake. And that snake takes advantage of Ally at a weak moment...

description

I hope that it doesn't come back to bite her on the ass... But never fear! There are some very hot moments too! Here is one of my favourite lines:

*"We're both covered in mud and grass and God knows what else. I'm not getting that all over the nice clean sheets."

He stalked closer, a panther on the prowl. "I don't mind getting a little dirty."*

I'm sure most of us wouldn't either ;) Be warned, you are in for another cliffhanger. This one is going to crush you. So many questions left unanswered. What will become of Ally and Hunter? What of her job? Will Chuck finally get what he deserves? We shall just have to wait until the next book to find out!

When everything falls apart at the seams, where do you start fixing the holes??
++caution! May contain spoilers++

Billionaire Hunter Knox hired me to save his family bourbon business: I’ve won the big pitch, but now trouble is only just beginning. I’m on a tightrope trying to keep my career from crashing out like a coed after a dozen jaeger shots, and I’ve made it clear to Hunter, our sexy one-night fling can't be repeated. (Amazon Blurb)

What?!? Why is it the men our girls truly need are constantly found with their sisters wound around their arms? Truly, it is simply the cruelest of punishments I've seen in quite a while. But hey, if you're Ally, find the most random bar with a neon sign in the middle of nowhere and meet biker men that could scare even the toughest of body builder man, who turn out to be protective as ever, and then drink Knox Bourbon - you'll be able to finally find THE perfect marketing , which could save your job and maybe take your mind off the craving for your boss and the deep set of jealousy the couple's relationship. Just as hot as part one, part 2 does not disappoint, but beware, frustration follows quickly on the heels of sexuality with this cliffhanger. I don't want to risk saying too much and reveal the best parts, the important ones, but I will mention this: if you loved the part one, then part two is even better and part three will undoubtedly be thrice as engaging, captivating and especially needed. I look forward to Lila Monroe's next instalment of the Billionaire With A Twist Series, see where it'll take us and find out what happens to Ally and Hunter.

5.0 out of 5 stars - Lila has done it again! Great story continues...

This review is from: Billionaire With A Twist 2 (Kindle Edition)
If you've already read part 1, keep reading. If you haven't, you must read Part 1 first!! :) You don't want to miss the good beginning of this ride Lila has written!

Again Lila's writing is so descriptive I felt light I was right there at the Knox Family home. The book starts off right where 1 left us hanging with our mouths open going WHAT?!?!?

I love being in Ally's head and her sarcastic, sassy thoughts are so refreshing for a main character.

--I will not cry in public, I repeated desperately to myself as I press my lips together and tried to laser burn through Hunter Knox with my eyes.
I have no reason to cry in public, and therefore I will not cry in public, I will not, I will not, I will not! The onions in my spring salad were a little
over-fresh, and that was the only reason my eyes were watering. I reached up to wipe them with my napkin, and Hunter, displaying the kind
of find timing that lost the Battle of Waterloo, chose that moment to meet my gaze. His eyes widened and his mouth dropped open slightly.
He looked as surprised to see my as I had been to see him.---

So many questions in book 2!!
Will Ally & Hunter end up together? Will they be able to save his family's company together? What is that sneaky Chuck & the "douchebros" up to? Read the book and find out. It definitely ends in another cliffhanger, but I figured that was coming this time. So I wasn't as shocked this time.
Excited to read part 3!!

This was a great follow-up to the first book. I was horrified that Hunter was possibly dating Ally’s sister because that would mean he really was a scum ball and I so liked him and if he was dating her then what would like mean for him and Ally?? Ack!! The story picks up right where part one leaves off and there is so much drama and action, it is definitely taking us the reader at full steam ahead.
Hunter is a man who is hanging on by a thread when it comes to his company and he is conflicted; he will do anything to keep his company business yet when it comes to Ally, he also wants her just as badly and will do anything to get Ally to admit there is something between them. He wants her just as badly as she wants him. After clearing up the whole Paige (ally’s sister) matter, and discussing their problems, finally Hunter and Ally make love and their affair stars in earnest. It is so raw and passionate. This is something that has been brewing from the very first meeting in the bar. Just as everything is looking up for this fantastic couple and they have gotten to their pinnacle, the thing the readers dreaded most happened – and Hunter ends things with Ally without giving her a chance to explain ,leaving Ally so heartbroken and sick. Will this couple get a chance to get it right again or is this the end ? I have to say this was such a wonderful story and the flow of the story was great. It ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared but I CANT wait for book 3.

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

If I thought the cliffhanger at the end of book 1 was huge, the cliffhanger in BILLIONAIRE WITH A TWIST # 2 blew it out of the water. Could I see it coming a mile away? Absolutely. Could I look away? Hell no. It got me so angry I couldn't go to sleep, I just kept thinking about it and how it was going to be resolved. Of course, some of my frustration came from thinking that I had to wait another two days (yes, two whole friggin' days) before the third and final part was released. So imagine my surprise when I awoke the next morning, did a quick search and discovered that the final part of this trilogy had actually been released the day before. I bought it immediately, started reading and peace was restored.

I really felt for Hunter trying to keep control of his family's company while getting the run-around from Ally. Ally on the other hand annoyed me with her silly, childish and petty behaviour towards Hunter. And just when you think things between them will be ok, a stupid mistake costs them everything. Will they get their HEA? I guess we'll find out in book 3.

Joyous and bittersweet, this part made me smile non-stop and it also squeezed a couple of emotional tears out of me. It was exhilarating to share that moment of artistic spark with Ally when she got her idea for the bourbon campaign. I loved that moment.

She and Hunter are going through a rough patch, she's reeling from jealousy and constantly battling unfair treatment at work so her emotions boil to a poisonous level. That made me cringe in fear of what would happen to her because of her outburst!

About Hunter, I think this man is seriously hot, not only for his looks, but also because of his family legacy and the hardworking love he holds for his land and company.

In this second part, there is loads of fun, heat, creativity and backstabbing too. I loved the steamy times, the very engaging work Ally does, the allure around the historical and human meaning around the Knox bourbon company, and all the misunderstandings and tribulations.

That's why that ending was so heart-breaking. I can't imagine how they will recover from that punch in the gut, but I certainly want to find out.
