“I was fascinated by the representation of the female energy in our mythology as complete opposites… the Avenger and the Nurturer.” – From the introduction by Shekhar Kapur
Tara Mehta was once human but when the spirit of a divine warrior fused with her, she became Devi, a living goddess sworn to protect mankind from threats both criminal and supernatural. Now the girl-turned-goddess must protect one of her own as young woman claiming to be her long-lost sister appears, seeking refuge from a demonic cult. To make matters worse, a mysterious vigilante is on a murder spree and all the evidence points to Devi.
Hunted by the law she swore to uphold and haunted by her own treacherous heart, will Tara be able to clear her name and find the truth about the woman who might be her sole surviving family member?
Shekhar Kapur, Director of the eight-time Academy Award nominated film Elizabeth, and of the critically acclaimed Indian hit movies Bandit Queen, Mr. India and Masoom, tells the story of a Goddess as a woman forced to live two opposite lives, weaving a tale of compassion, deception and intrigue.
More of a good thing as a familiar foe returns for a second time, Tara and Devi both have to combine their collective forces to overcome it. Other people from the past also make an appearance. Devi meets someone even she finds difficult to overcome. Also Tara meets her long lost sister but she can not believe the news and stays suspicious of her sister. Another nice volume I am not sure if other volumes are in the pipeline or not. well hoping for the best.
I have always loved comics, and I hope that I will always love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics or Diamond Comics or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on the international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can. I Love comics to bit, may comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.
