With SUN's machinations now fully fledged, the dome prepares for war. Finally reunited with his brothers, every facet of Jasper's past has been opened to him. Together him, Garnet, and Bella set into motion the final stages of their plan - a plan which will see the domes run red with the blood of innocent denizens and diggers alike.

The Sons of Ra are whole again, and they turn their attention to their long-awaited prize: the Shining City. Having escaped their camp, Pearce heads to Rooivalk to warn the general of the brothers's intentions, only to find himself gearing up for war.

Peppermint awakes to a world as alien as the stinking tunnels of the diggers. Everything she knew as truth had been spat on and torn down, replaced with monolithic facts standing stark and foreboding against a storm-tossed sky. Now, with everyone turning to her for leadership, the weight of responsibility threatens to grind her into the dust. But Peppermint can't buckle - the first rains of the inevitable storm have already fallen, and a deluge steadily approaches.

Hauled back from the brink of death, Jinx is in bad shape. The few threads she'd plucked free have unraveled the entire tapestry of her life, revealing a dark, endless cavern. From it, Leo emerges. He takes her to his brothers and toward a final revelation, but whether as her captor or her guide, Jinx can't yet determine.

Absorbed in their vendettas, Fate draws near her darlings without raising a cry. As she tightens her web, her victims become entangled beyond extrication. And, to some, only one path remains open: death.

Ronel is a brand-spanking new indie author. She loves creating fantastical worlds set in the future, the mythical, and the horrific. Translate: She writes science-fiction, fantasy and horror novels.

Her life story is not particularly fascinating, but her love of technology, PC games and writing is. Beside writing, she spends her time slaying rendered baddies in the form of robots, gangsters and aliens - with any weapon that happens to be at hand.

Ronel has published her first science-fiction trilogy, the Corrupted SUN Script and is hard at work on her next sci-fi novel, The Seventh Glitch.

When she's not writing, she's gaming, and when she's not gaming she's either sleeping or eating, as these are prerequisites for a continued life on planet Earth.

I’m not a big fan of modern science fiction. Half of the reason is that I tried a few and did not like them, the other half is that I’m still catching up on the classics. The Corrupted SUN Script, being one of the modern trilogies, was not something that I would have decided to read – it was written by an indie author, and I was more into those that had a greater legacy. But for whatever reason, I decided to take a look at the first book. I would be lying if I said that I was completely sucked into the world. But it would be fair to say that my interest was piqued. That brings us here, to the concluding chapter of the trilogy.

Numerous characters had been introduced in both the first and second books. The author’s characterisation is laudable. All the characters are diverse, with their very own personalities. The characters are very believable. None of them act out of character, and this positive trait is carried onto the third book. As I’ve said in both the reviews of the first and second book, the characters are so real that the reader would undoubtedly like some, hate a few and be annoyed by others.

The worldbuilding is very detailed. Ronel Van Tonder writes pictorial description, and the lore of her world – from the history to the mundane lives – have been pretty fleshed out. The prose is great – witty at times and funny otherwise, depending on the perspective of characters. Dialogues are well-written and remarkable. There are many dialogues that would leave the reader giggling.

I’ll be vague when talking about the story. The SUN Council has been planning for something called the Bennu Project for a very long time, and everything is coming together. But there are layers of secrets underneath the clandestine project itself. For one, the purpose of the project and the future of the denizens of the dome are very unclear. Furthermore, Phoenix – the AI of the Domes – has been dealing conspiratorially with certain denizens, and what it has in its metallic mind is uncertain. Everyone – besides the denizens themselves - is gearing up for war, but no one knows what cogs and gears are turning behind the shadows, that influence everything.

Like any good science fiction, the Corrupted SUN Script is filled with lore and mysteries. If the reader sticks till the end, everything will be cleared up. Well, almost everything.

In the preceding two novels of the ‘Corrupted SUN Script’ trilogy, author Ronel Van Tonder created a dystopian future world, split into factions that she provided the depth and substance necessary to support the complex tale of intrigue and deceit in which the distinct protagonists moved. And move they did, carrying the reader through myriad adventures both inside the domed structures managed by SUN and the wilder, visceral groups living in underground dwellings outside the ‘protection’ of SUN’s artificial intelligence system. The premise that treads through the third and final volume of the series is the conflict resulting from the clash of these different societies and their particular agendas as well as the collision course embarked upon by various dome dwellers.

Van Tonder has ramped up the tension and pace of this last volume to a degree that will have the reader flipping pages well into the night as the distinct storylines race toward the inevitable apocalyptic conclusion that offers both resolution and a small degree of hope and optimism. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way too to keep the reader on their toes and a major surprise as a further ‘antagonist’, replete with their own objectives, is revealed, adding a further element of suspense to this awesome read.

The author’s writing will draw you into the world she has fashioned and have you walking in the boots of the different protagonists and antagonists throughout the book’s pages; such is her power of the written word. You will feel the dry wind of the savannah, the cool air of the domes; you will smell the dirt of the underground dwellings, the blood spilt as the final battle arrives; you will taste the oil from the bakkies and bland food dispensed by the WeEats. Immersion in this futuristic world, via the magic of Van Tonder’s prose, is guaranteed. Remember the name; she’ll be mentioned with the greats of Sci-Fi in the coming years. Don’t miss this outstanding tour-de-force; a Sci-Fi epic to rival Dune or the Foundation series.

I couldn't put this series down. That's been the biggest and best part of reading these while away. I wanted to get to the end, (but then I didn't) sigh.

The writing in this had me on the edge of my seat. The world still so descriptively described to us, made me feel, see and hear things like I was there.

The relationships and their friendships take on much more meanings. When we think Jinx is dead, the emotion here is so hard to read. We don't want her to be... we hope she isn't. When she wakes almost having died she's a fight to heal and then learn to understand who she is and what she is. The whole amazing threads of these characters really does come together in an explosive final book.

I really don't want to write any spoilers, but I must say there were times here when Peppermint was still her annoying self, and then I just loved what she did. I think no matter what I'm never going to be sure if I like her or Jinx more. Sorry. I just can't pick one!

I'd highly recommend this series to anyone who loves, tech and fighting for what you believe in. The characters, all of them are deep, they have their reasons for acting the way they do and responding to their situation. I never once thought that they were just there, each one had a role. Considering the large cast I was surprised, and saddened to who we lost along the series, but those who were left to fight for a better world did just that.

Huge thanks to the writer for allowing me on this journey and I will be following to see what she writes next. :)

Fantastic final of one of my new favourite series! satisfying and super enthralling.
The way the action is described- its so easy to see and be like 'woah cool' (the suits are cool). All the characters feel like they get their moments to shine.

My all time favourite thing is that the Author creates this really vivid environment that we can all imagine (albeit different for each of us) and we can get into the characters- but its not predictable and if you predicted all the things that happened in this last one then...hats off to you.
I thought I knew where it was going and then 'Oh snap' no I don't and its so SO much BETTER than I hoped.

Highly recommend, of the three this might be my favourite one, its also super re-readable!

Oh and the way each book starts is different and super cool!!

To say that this series puts the reader onto a rollercoaster ride wouldn't be giving the author well deserved justice. This is the end of the trilogy, a closing of a series which I did not want to end. I am still in a state of shock regarding Nankai - the visual I have in my head. This is contrasted with breathtakingly beautiful and sometimes soul ripping tragedies both in the written word and in that which is quietly left unspoken. Many of the characters will remain with me for quite some time and this will be one of the series' which I will come back to and read over and over again. A true masterpiece. I would give this book six stars if amazon let me do so.
