The Dr Hedgehog picture book series is intended to be read aloud to young children. Both the readers and the listeners will enjoy the stories. There are common characters, but each story can be read independently of the others. In most of the stories, Martin Mouse finds himself in awkward situations but Dr Hedgehog, usually with the help of other animals, is always able to assist. Children will recognise their mothers in Mavis Mouse, who worries about her son and is always greatly relieved when he arrives home safely. In this story, Martin Mouse climbs a tree to pick some leaves for his teacher, and he cannot get down. How does Henry Horse help Dr Hedgehog to get him down?

This is a fun story with beautiful illustrations. Dr. Hedgehog does get a bit gruff with Martin Mouse when he still tries to refuse to jump onto the head of Henry the Horse. Poor little Martin Mouse is frightened, and the impatience and sternness of Dr. Hedgehog was a bit rough. At the end of the book is a pull out poster. Won this in a Goodreads giveaway. Read it in under 5 minutes. It read-out-loud to your children and look at the illustrations kinda book. Gorgeous illustrations and kids would love the story. Also came with a big poster attached to the back cover which was a nice touch :D

Once again we meet Dr Hedgehog, like the previous story in the series there are the same characters and some of the sayings are present, which is nice as it makes the books link. Saying this, this book could easily be read alone as the story makes sense without reading the others.

I mentioned the illustrations were not my favourite during my previous review, this again is the same, unfortunately they are not growing on me and I think Dr Hedgehog could come across a little nicer in stories, personally I don't like his character at all. My class who I read this too, were also not too keen on him as he seems to always be cross.

This book started off better than one of the previous I felt and had a bit more too it as in way of a story, however I felt it was let down towards the ending, where Dr Hedgehog got cross and told Martin Mouse just 'go home and find out'. He didn't come across very patient and considering he is a doctor should be!

The length of the book is good and perfect for a 15 minute read with a child, or during snack time if you are at school. This book is O.K, my class probably will pick it up again to read independently at some point.

Martin Mouse does it again and as always Dr. Hedgehog comes to the rescue in this edition of Jerry Mushin's children's story. I won't say too much about the story line so as not to spoil it. Apparently the book is part of a series of books, but as I can attest it can easily be read separately from the other books in the series.

The story is obviously meant to be read aloud to young children. The story line is simple and easy for young children to follow. For the adult reading the story--it's worth reading again and again. After all, who doesn't like a Dr. Physician Hedgehog who drives a car made out of old can of beans? The length is just right for a bedtime story. The book is beautifully illustrated with the pictures bringing the audience deeper into the story.

Children will truly love the large color pull out poster. The poster is high quality and worthy of displaying on a young child's wall.

I look forward to reading this one again and again to all the little one's in my family's life.

Imagine my surprise when I found Dr. Hedgehog and the Tree Rescue in my mailbox this morning. It is a delightful book that I got via Goodreads.
I enjoyed the story and know my grandchildren will, too. The pictures were delightful, especially the little spines. Dr. Hedgehog speaks in a "slow, very low" voice which will be such fun to do while reading aloud.
Apparently there are other Dr. Hedgehog books, but this one was complete and did not rely on previous tales. The plot: Dr. Hedgehog, on his way to see a patient, must rescue Martin Mouse who has climbed a tree to obtain pretty leaves for his teacher.
I know one of my grandchildren will be getting this wonderful book for Christmas.

Such a cute series for young children, especially boys. Martin Mouse is a little boy mouse who seems to find himself in trouble. Despite his mom always warning him of ways to avoid trouble, he still seems to find it. Luckily he has a community of animals looking out for him, led by Dr. Hedgehog, and they are always there to lend a hand to get little Martin out of trouble. This is a fun series and my son really enjoys all the characters. We also enjoy the pull-out posters included in each book. *I received a set of this series in exchange for my honest review*

I won this book as a GoodReads First Read. This book was really good, the illustrations and the story were easy to read and fun. I will be passing this book along to a friend with young children because I feel they will enjoy the story and also learn from it. I love that there is a poster in the back of the book also. I will be looking to get additional Dr. Hedgehog books.

I let my 8 year old son read this book to get age appropriate feed back. I sat back and listened to him giggle through most of it. He said it's a very good book, it made me laugh, and the pictures are so cute. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share this book with my son. We give it 5 stars.

I received this book through a giveaway on Goodreads. It started out as a cute little story for a very young child(I can just hear the "Ew, cabbage tea!"). However, I can also hear questions brought up because of the ending of the story, which I found to be a bit lacking in consistency. Not a bad book, but not a great one.

This is a very well written and illustrated children's book. The lesson it teaches is one of helping and working together as well as facing your fears. As required, I am stating that I did win this book from the publisher. I would definitely recommend it to others.
