Robert Pattinson The Biography

Rate this book
The Twilight Saga may have made 'R-Patz' a household name - and earned him a spot on the bedroom walls of teenage girls around the world - but long gone are the days when he was just seen as a (very) pretty face. Named amongst TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People, and drawing critical acclaim for recent screen performances, he is carving a formidable reputation as a serious actor, artist and ambassador as well as a sex symbol. Hailed as 'the next Jude Law' when the supporting role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire fell to him, it was only a matter of time before other major productions joined the hunt. But after accepting the offer to play Edward Cullen in the first Twilight movie, Robert couldn't have dreamt just how far into the spotlight he would be catapulted. The series went on to gross over GBP2billion worldwide, and for the heartthrob star of the story, opportunity knocked from every direction. From supporting charities against child trafficking through selling his own artwork, to campaigning to raise awareness of cancer, it's clear he has a heart of gold to match a jawline of iron. And with critically acclaimed performances in more mature movies like futuristic western The Rover, and an Oscar-bait role as T.E. Lawrence in Queen of the Desert on the horizon, there can be no doubt that Robert Pattinson is set to be the modern-day matinee idol of the decade.

I am a celebrity journalist and biographer. I have met Robert Pattinson and most of the Twilight cast - so if you have teenagers that love Twilight, I'm the author you need!

I'm proof that you don't have to be old and boring to be an author.

My first book was Be the Best - an inspirational book for young rugby players. I started coaching a boys' rugby team when I was sixteen, and we became one of the most successful in the country in our age group. Six years later, I decided to write the first book that looks at every stage - from being in a mini team, to trials, and to county level. My book teaches self-confidence and will inspire any child to become a better rugby player.

After dabbling in scriptwriting, I became an editorial assistant and then the editor of an online entertainment magazine. I started writing articles about Robert Pattinson and to date I have written over 700. In May 2010, Robert Pattinson A-Z came out, closely followed by Glee A-Z. In October, I had two books published: Taylor Lautner A-Z and The Wanted A-Z. My fifth celebrity biography, Miley Cyrus A-Z, came out in May 2011.

As Admins of several Robert Pattinson Fan Accounts we collect all Rob related books, we read them and inform the fan base about our reading experience.

This biography was sent to us as an ARC (advanced reader copy) by the publisher John Blake Books and hereby we want to thank them for approaching us and especially many thanks to Carmen for her kind e-mails and good service. Of course we didn’t let this influence our review of the book.

First we have to say that we love the cover, it’s a beautiful photo taken during the Breaking Dawn Part 2 promo in Sydney Australia 2012. The synopsis on the back cover, covers the contents nicely and mentions Rob’s charity work which shows the world that he is so much more than just a pretty face, but also has a heart of gold.

We were definitely hoping for more than just 12 small sized photos in the book, but at least they are of good quality and printed on glossy paper and are taken from 2005 – 2014, so also quite recent ones.

We as a Fan Page never report on the romantic life of Rob, as we want to be respectful towards that part of his privacy, but this topic is definitely touched in the book which is okay as long as the reader keeps in mind that here it concerns the interpretation of gossip and hearsay. Whatever is written about Rob’s private life and his feelings in certain situations is purely based on speculations as Rob is a very private person who doesn’t open up about these particular topics.

The facts about his professional life are mentioned in chronological order without any major mistakes, information is given up to 2014 and also some of his future projects are mentioned. The bulk part of the book is about his Twilight period. The story is told mainly by using a lot of quotes and movie reviews that are probably known to most fans. Luckily sources are mentioned and can be traced by googling them. They are all correct.

It’s an easy and quick read that can make ‘old’ fans remember some incidents they may have forgotten and although it doesn’t really offer them anything new, it will definitely be a nice addition to their collection as it is at this moment the most up to date book about Rob. For the new fans it’s a very decent and quick update. We compared this book to others in the same genre and rated it with three stars.

This is the best bio about Robert Pattinson I've read so far and not only because it is the only one, i think, that is up to date. There were several things i didnt know, or I had forgotten. The book focuses on his movies, with a lot of reviews, and it is not only about Twilight (and everything later), all his early films are included, and have its place. In addition to that quotes from interviews and some excursions to the gossip sites. an avid fan will always find some mistakes, but this didnt spoil my reading experience. At the end it seems to suffer a bit from deadline pressure, and Brimstone is written as if it was filmed with RP, but I understand that this latest news didnt make it in the book.

Velice zajímavý vhled do života Pattinsona, i když bych mohl vést dlouhou debatu o tom, nakolik se jedná o validní informace. Přesto ale kniha splňuje svůj účel a nastiňuje základní osu hvězdné kariéry, což určitě bude k užitku!

As a collector of books about Robert Pattinson I can say that I have read a lot of books that are a lot worse than this one and absolutely not worth their money, but I think the author still I think the author of this one could have done a lot better.

I wish she would have stuck to the facts and not have given so much attention to the Twilight Saga and speculations about his romantic life. Also the book contains some minor mistakes and one big one. Will Fetters is the scriptwriter of the movie Remember Me and not the director as mentioned in the book.

Over all the book looks good, nice cover, not many photos, but they are of a good quality, especially for new fans it gives a good idea about his career so far and for die-hard fans it is a nice addition to their collection although it does not really offer anything new.
