First, I want to thank Kassandra Klay for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Kassandra Klay sure knows how to tell an amazing story with a dramatic cliff hanger at the end in Ambitious Drive Book One of the Ambition Serial! Wow! Even though this was a very short read it was packed with a sexy boss, amazing descriptive sex scenes, two candidates up for a promotion, and freaky stalkers that creeped not only Alex out but me as well! I cant wait to see what happens in the next book! I am definitely a new fan of Kassandra Klay now!!
Great start to the series! You get a feel for the MCs right away and though it's a cliffhanger you definitely want to know how the story continues! Can't wait for #2.
So many similarities to a book/movie I have seen before
Alex seems to be in a bind when it comes to her career and her personal life. Her co-worker Nick is a sure psychopath and a certified sleaze ball who needs to be behind bars.
The sex scenes are spicy and realistic, but the wat it camr about and the exchange between Alen and Kreed ( which is an interesting choice in a name) are a little to forced for my taste.
The plot did keep me wondering what was going to happen next. I mean, after all Nick showing up at the private get together is going to causensome friction. Alex at some point will have to tell Kreed all about the strange run ins and Kreed seems like the protective sort and has the finacial means to make or break a person. I get the notion that the promotion has already been decided upon and they will have crazy man on their hands who was slighted and lost his career, blaming the two people who are in a taboo relationship. I may even pick up the next book just to satisfy my curiosity because book 1 was left on a cliff hanger.
Such a great beginning to the series. Alex and Nick are faced with an opportunity to work with Kreed, and it shows the kind of person Nick is. If I were Alex, I'd definitely keep my eye on him. Competition sucks. I'm liking Kreed and Alex's connection right away, though and hope that it progresses.
A lot in a little book for sure. I was nervous about dating or sleeping with your boss in the beginning and well you read why. I like the cliffhanger we are left with and I will admit I want to read more. *This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.*
Ambitious Drive is the first book in Kassandra Klay’s Ambition Series. This short story is a compelling, quick read.
Ms. Kay’s writing flows easily, and she has paced the story perfectly. I loved Alexandria, the driven finance manager. Nick is the perfect, creepy antagonist. Kreed is portrayed as the suave, handsome owner of the company. Readers will naturally find Nick’s relentless pursuit of Alexandria is annoying; I might be the only reader who also found Kreed’s pursuit to be similar, but he is the love interest, and it wouldn’t be much of a romance without him. The portrayal of Alexandria as an ambitious and dedicated career woman hooked me, and while I enjoy a good romance, I have to say I was disappointed at how easily she adjusted course when an acceptable suitor came into the picture.
There is a cliffhanger at the end of Ambitious Drive, and it hints at a juicy story of not just romance but intrigue. I can’t wait to read on!

What happens when you're a single, beautiful, brilliant workaholic? You find love at work. Well, that's what Nick wants to happen with Alex, but she doesn't believe in mixing business and pleasure. Well, not until she meets her boss in person.
Kreed is a gorgeous man that she is eying on a night out on the town with her bestie. The man calls to her literally from across the room. He is the only man she had seen lately than sparks something in her. It just so happens her Bestie's man knows him.
Meanwhile, the most annoying man on the planet, Nick shows up and tries to ruin her night with his dirty innuendo. Good thing Kreed comes over to speak, but now she has a dilemma. Nick just addressed the handsome hottie as Mr. Kerrington, the owner of her company. Nick and Alex are competing for an open position in Sr. Management. Nick feels the need to suck up, while Kreed in interested in having dinner with Alex.
Alex ends up sleeping with Kreed, despite him being her boss. She just can't fight her attraction. The drinks at dinner don't help. Lol They both are feeling each other and agree to go out again. Little did Alex know when she went out to lunch later that day, she had a tag along - Nick. Old boy is stalking her.
This is a serial, so of course it ends on a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to seeing what happens.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars--AMBITIOUS DRIVE is the first instalment in Kassandra Klay's contemporary adult AMBITION erotic romance serial focusing on Kerrington Holding Investments finance manager, Alexandria Weston, and owner Kreed Kerrington.
Told from first person point of view (Alexandria Weston) AMBITIOUS DRIVE follows the building but forbidden relationship between boss and employee. With the upcoming retirement of their boss Henry McMillian, Alexandria and her co-worker Nick Adler are in direct competition to fill the position of Director of Finance and Accounting. Enter Kreed Kerrington, owner of Kerrington Holding Investments, the man in charge, and the man about to change Alexandria's future. A chance meeting, at a new high end restaurant finds Kreed falling for our story line heroine. Fearing professional repercussions if their relationship is ever found out, Alexandria and Kreed agree to keep their affair on the down-low but keeping secrets is next to impossible as Nick Adler refuses to back down. We are introduced to Alexandria's best friend, corporate attorney Charity Sinclair, and her boyfriend, celebrity chef Ricardo, as well as accounting manager Nick Adler, a man determined to make Alexandria his own.
AMBITIOUS DRIVE introduces the players and outlines the potential for disaster as two people make a run for the top knowing only one will make it in the end. Threats are promised, war is waged, hearts are caught between right and wrong. The writing style is simplistic; the $ex scenes are erotic and intense -similar in concept and stylization as many other erotic romance novels including language and text; the characters are colorful and interesting; the world building hints at things to come.
In all fairness, it is difficult to review a serialized story line (a full-length story divided into smaller instalments ). The writing style rarely changes due in part to the fact that a serialized story is a full-length story divided into smaller instalments; the world building usually continues at the same pace until something important violates the calm, therefore the only real changes occur with the unfolding of the story line events and the possible growth of the main characters which are revealed as the story moves along. A review with the final instalment is what will be necessary to acknowledge a complete breakdown of the serial with reference to emotional depth, pacing, concept and engagement, as well as grammar, editing and errors.
I finished book one about 5 am Saturday morning. I have found this novella a fantastic must-read. It was the perfect book for me since not only did it keep me captivated on each page, but it also left me wanting to read more of this series. As a novella, I enjoyed that it was a great quick read due to the fact I am always busy it was the perfect novella length. The main female Character is relatable with how a person in the real world would feel and handle the situations that she faces. She faces a lot of inner emotional turmoil when she finally finds a man she is head over heels for. Without ruining the plot and providing too many spoilers I can say If I were Alexandria I would go through the same thought process.
This book features modern day work experiences, and it also depicts a character who seems to be stalking Alexandria. Nick is overly cocky in my opinion and the author is able to emulate the real feel of that where a person may have experienced an incident of being stalked.
This book also gives insight into Alexandria's best friend Charity and her Lover Ricardos lifestyle seeing as she is a roommate to Charity, and Charity's Boyfriend Ricardo owns the hottest restaurant in the city they tend to go hang out there for their girl's night out and that is when Alexandria meets the man she desires.
Though there were minimal grammar/spelling errors in the book it did not take away from the books overall vibe. I like the new covers the publisher, and author choose to use. They have an overall easy on the eyes catch and an elegant sense of sex appeal. If you have a busy lifestyle or enjoy a quick sultry read I definitely recommend this series of novellas for you, or any readers looking to broaden their palette.
I would have loved to see more in this first book. Though that is no reason to underrate the book. Afterall the author does have to keep us the readers wanting more, and Kassandra Klay does just that. I love the series title she chose since I believe it reflects her goal as an author. It is quite apparent that Kassandra Klay is an ambitious writer, and I hope to see more of her work in the future.
In the opinion of this book blogger if Kassandra Klay keeps up her great work on her novellas I hope to see her achieve the status of a best seller. My rating on this book took into consideration everything from the overall design, the technical process of book assembly, and overall read of the book.
This is only the first book in a series of 6 novellas that introduce us to Alexandria, a financial manager for a large investment firm, and Keed Kerrington the man who owns the business. Alexandria finds that her boss is leaving and herself and her co-worker Nick are up for a promotion into that position. They will both be monitored and interviewed for the position and Nick has focus set on Alexandria.
Andrea wants the job badly and will do what she needs to get it, but when her sexy boss Keed falls for her, she doesn't want to be known as the woman who slept her way into a promotion. She initially rebukes Keed but he's determined and he wants her. The only strange thing is that Nick continues popping up in odd places, almost as if he's stalking Alexandria and Keed becomes a little jealous.
The romance picks up heavily between Keed and Alexandria, but we don't find out what happens until the next installments. A great introduction to this novella series and definitely has me wanting to read the next ones!
I thought Book One of the Ambitious Series was a great start to a quick, but intriguing read. Ambitious Drive definitely started off with some drama but I was sucked in and finished all three books tonight. It does have a cliffhanger at the end but that’s ok because it left me wanting more. Kreed and Alex’s story is one of an office romance but with relevant issues that women in the workplace have experienced. I liked how it made the book more real and Alex’s feelings were justifiable. Kreed is definitely the boss in the bedroom and of his company and once he sees Alex he knows he has to make her his. I am giving this book 3.5 stars because I enjoyed the story and the cliffhanger left me wanting for me. I did think it was too short, but only because I wanted to keep reading more. I recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read.
First of all don't be surprised this is a fast read. It is a great story and I love just how real it can be. A woman facing crap in the work place by a co-worker. Yup you got it. He is the epitome of a jerk and yup has her in his sights. OK enough said. I like this woman she has balls and stands up to him, well kinda. Don't forget the hot number coming after her. Since this is one of those episode things there is a cliff hanger, it doesn't take away from it being a really good start to this whole thing. I do want more and can't wait to see what happens next. Thank goodness I don't have to wait!
I haven't read this author before so this is a great chance to enjoy her style and do it with a quickness. I will most definitely be checking out more.
This one was a super quick read that definitely leaves you wanting more. Alex meets her boss at a friend's restaurant when sparks fly. Kreed wants to date her but she is up for promotion. She doesn't want to ruin her chances by dating her boss. In this first book we get a man who you can't help but fall for right away, steamy sexy times and a stalker. Again, super quick, has a cliffhanger and I can't wait for book #2
This is book one of the Ambition series and a great start. To begin, I’m totally on board with Kreed and Alex’s relationship. Their connection is one for the books, all hot and heavy. The attraction they have for one another keeps your eyes glued to the words. But man, Nick is one Alex needs to keep an eye on. From the start, he had rubbed me the wrong way, and it doesn’t change. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
Short, sweet and so sexy. This is book 1 of the Ambition series and its a promising start
The characters and story are well written and its a nice modern setting. I enjoyed the taboo aspect to the relationship between the characters.
There was also an interesting plot development that I'm interested to see play out. It certainly caught my attention. Hopefully I will get some answers and see that expanded on in the next instalment.
I was offered a copy of this book in exchange for a review. I give this one 3.5 stars! It is fast-paced, the characters’ roles are laid out right away, and are pretty predictable. I always love a hot, confident, high-powered CEO as the leading man, so we’ll see where this story leads. It should be noted that these stories are in fact short novellas.
DNF. started out well with an ambitious woman up for a promotion. But devolved to her boss hitting on her, her saying no, then the next thing she’s jumping him. Obviously she’s unable to stick to what she says and it’s just going to be about sex.
*I would like to thank Primrose Passage Services for providing me a copy of Ambitious Drive in exchange for an honest review*
CW: Sexual harassment from a co-worker
It was a nice quick read (40 pages max). There were some parts I honestly didn’t like. But overall, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed reading Kreed and Alexandria. Kreed is such a gentleman, plus he sounds very handsome. This book feels like it has happened in the real world. How you can end up going out with your boss, and how you can be stalked by a co-worker. (Nick is a psycho)

Okay first things first, This is one of a series. I do not like that it feels like it's only a couple of chapters long. Actually I totally hate that. BUT I do love what Klay has done. So far I am engaged in the characters and curious about certain aspects. The sex scene between Alex and Kreed is hawt!! Haven't really gotten a feel for Alex's best friend Charity or her boyfriend. Nick, though! I seriously would go bat ish crazy on that guy. Watching Alex try to work out a way to be with Kreed and not lose certain aspects of her life is interesting.
So even though this is a VERY short book (only 41 pages) I am looking forward to reading the next one. I would not have been quite so happy if I had to wait several months in between releases. If I was Kassandra Klay I would re-release all 4 books into just one. But that is just my opinion. I am interested to see what books 2-4 bring. Thankfully they are all released.
