Stanton Unconditional

Rate this book
The follow up to the gripping first novel by T.L. Swan, Stanton Adore.

Unconditional love, does it really exist or is it an urban myth? What does it really mean?
Do you love someone because of their flaws?
Or in spite of them.
And at what point are the conditions more to bear.
Than the love is worth.
This is what I’m trying to decipher
This is my story.
I’ll let you be the judge.

Natasha is one of the most pathetic heroines I have ever read about. She spends 7 years pining after the H, knowing he is fucking hundreds of women. She loved him so much she waited for him. Just the thought of being intimate with another man sickened her so she was celibate for the 7 years before they reunited and then the 6 months after they broke up. I love “romance” stories where the heroine only had sex with the hero, and waits years and years for him while he loves her sooo much he doesn’t wait, he fucks countless women, has threesomes, fucks escorts all because he is a man who may love her but not enough to keep his dick in his pants. Then after they break up, he goes and has sex with the woman he knew she was insecure about, after claiming many times he did not have any feelings for her and was not sexually attracted to her. Then she finds out after they get back together, and she is hurt by it. She has to deal with her mom, her friends, Joshua and his friends all telling her she was being ridiculous for being upset. I mean, he only told her so many times that he wasn’t sexually attracted to the OW so of course she’s gonna he shocked and hurt when she finds out they had sex. He knew she wasn’t having sex with anyone. Joshua was a manwhore of epic proportions but Natasha was so pathetic that eventually I didn’t give a fuck.

What is up with these authors (who are ALWAYS fucking married irl) writing these stories that romanticize cheating and the whole “love you but not enough to not want to fuck other women” tropes? And then to make it even worse they write their main female characters to be pathetic celibate virginal doormats. The two always go together in romance books and it’s so frustrating! It’s not even realistic. Honestly it’s like a mans wet dream. I’m convinced authors like T.L Swan get their husbands to help them with their books. Maybe they live vicariously though the heroes? Or it’s just inspired from their own relationships. Who the fuck knows but I’m sick of it. Maybe wanting to read about a male character that would rather be celibate than be with anyone but the heroine is unrealistic, but this is fictional romance and it’s not like it’s any more unrealistic than reading about a heroine who refuses to move on and have sex with anyone besides the manwhore who is sticking his dick in every willing woman.

T.L Swan especially loves her manwhores and OW sex/drama and do all of her heroes love to fuck prostitutes? I’ve read a few of her books and they all have. This isn’t romance! I seriously feel sad for anyone who thinks this is. I know it’s just a fictional book, but maybe it’s cause I have high standards in my own my life that it affects the kind of books I enjoy.

This book is to literature as what The Jerry Springer Show is to television. So why am I giving it 3 stars and not 1? I was actually entertained. Lol!!

Like I wrote in my review of book 1, there are so many things wrong with this book. The writing is bad with a complete disregard for basic formatting rules.

So many cliches and stereotypes in this book. The hero is a tech billionaire with model good looks, but is a complete manwhore who’s been with prostitutes and strippers every week for the past 7 years. The heroine is unrealistically virtuous and hasn’t slept with another man for 7 years. The two had a month long relationship when they were teenagers, but didn’t speak or see each other for 7 years. We are supposed to believe they are still in love. That they are soulmates.

The heroine is a psychologist, but doesn’t practice anything that she preaches. They have the most juvenile and immature relationship that I have ever read. They are constantly fighting and overreacting to their miscommunications. 99% of their problems could be solved in 2 minutes if they would just talk. And the fact that she is a psychologist just makes it so unbelievable.

Every other woman, with the exception of the heroine’s mother and grandmother, is overly sexual and portrayed as promiscuous. Why can’t contemporary romance writers create more normal female side characters. Not every woman is a money grubbing, fame chasing slut. It’s so tiring and played out.

Other than the constant sex, what the heroine sees in the hero is a complete mystery to me. He’s spoiled, immature and a total chauvinist. Yes, I know he has a big wang. The author constantly told us during the sex scenes. Yes, we figured it out after the 12th sex scene, that the heroine has a hard time taking his wang all the way.

But thankfully she gets waxed and anal bleached just like he likes. (Insert eye roll, just in case you can’t pick up on my sarcasm!)

I could go on and on. So many ridiculous things happen in these books.

But I never got bored. I actually wanted to find out what happened. That’s my reason for the 3 stars. It’s like watching to the end of an episode of Jerry Springer so you can find out who the baby daddy is. I just couldn’t look away.

Okay so let me get this off my chest first. I read this entire trilogy back to back – so although this isn’t specific to this book – it was something that did carry on throughout the series. I did love this series (after all I could not put it down), but there was some issues I had with the voice of these two characters. A lot of changing up happened. Phrasing and word choices at times seemed odd. I know you can only say cock so many times in the same scene, but it felt clinical at times to jump between cock and penis or even ejaculate... especially when it was coming from Josh. Sometimes it is okay to over use the word because it works and fits – I really wished that had been held throughout this series.

But onto the story. Which I loved by the way. So we already saw the destruction of these two. But they just can’t stay away from each other. So yeah I still wanted to murder them. The back and forth was killing me. Grow UP!!!! I wanted to shake the shit out of them half of the time, but I loved them just as hard.

I need these two to first be fucking honest with each other and second to stop fucking acting like children. And don’t even get me started on the shit about making choices for one another in their ‘best interest’.

BULLSHIT.
Get it together folks!
Sometime in this century, please!

I am such a slut for punishment because I could not stop myself from devouring this series. There was such a great story here that although the small issued detracted a bit from the story, it didn’t prevent me from absolutely loving it.

This is very hard because I loved the first book but this one just didn't do it for me. There was so many times I just wanted to just give up but I wanted to have the HEA. Natasha got on my last nerve omg I just wanted to slap the shit out of her and tell her to grow the fuck up and stop being so stupid!!! It's her fault why Joshua did what he did and I did NOT feel bad for her.
Joshua got me mad a few times too but not as much as Natasha.

I am also NOT happy that I read the entire book and there was no HEA because there will be book 3 !!!!
I really really hope the next book is better and Natasha and Joshua grow up, also a HEA I've been waiting for.

I gave it 3 stars because it started getting better towards the end which gives me hope for the next book.

Oh I love, love, loved this!

Book 1, Stanton Adore ended on a HUGE cliff-hanger so I couldn’t wait to dive into this, although I was a little scared after the way the previous book finished. This book starts up immediately where book 1 left off; straight into heart stopping drama, fantastic! The drama and angst continues throughout this read, at times making my heart race. We are definitely kept on our toes!

I adore Natasha and Joshua in this story, together and separately they were both rooted deeply in my heart throughout every page. Their connection is all consuming, so very special, deep and loving. No two people are more sexually compatible than these two; their sex life was passionate, hot, sexy and most definitely panty melting. They are such a sexual couple that I almost felt like I was intruding reading about them at times!

Despite my love for this couple they were far from perfect. Natasha has a habit of taking things at face value, it was frustrating. She is so intelligent but her emotions take hold of her so damn easily and boy is she flighty. BUT drunk Natasha is PRICELESS!! Joshua is possessive, stubborn, intense and has a huge case of double standards! BUT he is as sexy as HELL! They are both so perfectly imperfect.

I have to say, I am completely, hopelessly, shamelessly in love with Joshua Stanton. I love his carnal side, his tenderness, his alpha shit, all complex and very different sides of him. He has become my new hot fantasy man. I even fell for his possessiveness and his contradicting personality, vulnerable yet powerful. Who would have thought the line “I fucking adore you” would have me swooning so hard but hell yeah, it totally does!

Every secondary character plays an important role in this book and helps the story flow smoothly. I enjoyed them all, even the raving bitches and oh my word, Josh’s brother Dr Cameron Stanton comes a close second in my affections, wink, wink!

This story is told in three points of view between Natasha, Josh and a few from Josh’s assistant, Adrian; this works well to give us a well-rounded picture. In fact, Adrian has his own awesome story there waiting to be told (Please TL Swan!!). I can’t tell you anything about the storyline, you need to go in blind and experience it yourself.

This series has developed into far more than a forbidden romance and I can’t wait to see what happens next in book 3, Stanton Completely, I am desperate for more. This book is packed with resentment, pain, anger, passion, love, loyalty, friendship, hope and so much drama and angst your heart will race! There is so much to this book and it completely consumed me. T.L. Swan is certainly an author to follow. I love her writing style and I now have another author obsession. I absolutely recommend this series, one click, you will thank me!

I'm very surprised that the same author who wrote this series also wrote Dr. Stanton. I absolutely loved Dr. Stanton, and in comparison, this series fell short.

In book one, my jaw hit the floor at the end of chapter 2. I honestly debated if I should even continue or not. I did not expect that at all. I decided to push forward and see where it went.

In summary for all three books, I did not care for either of the main characters. I didn't like Josh because he was an extreme manwh*re and also would often tell Natasha to shut the f*ck up or call her a B*tch or slut. None of that is attractive or appealing in the slightest.

I also didn't care for Natasha because I felt she was very weak, and it's ridiculous to go 7 years without intimacy because you're waiting for your "first" to come back - especially when that person bumps uglies with anything that moves.

Clearly I had time on my hands for the simple fact that I finished all three books when I didn't love any of them; but hey, who doesn't appreciate a little Jerry Springer every now and then.

Book 2 of the Stanton series is both utterly amazing and utterly frustrating.
I do get all the negative comments that are here. Yes, the characters are in many ways immature and, yes, they are VERY toxic together! Yes, once again, Natasha stayed untouched because she loves Joshua whereas Joshua whored himself every chance he got. Did that drive me mad? Of course, i hate this double standard.
Anyway... i also do get the hype for this book though, and why everyone loved Joshua Stanton. He is damaged, gorgeous, very possessive, lives for sex, and is obsessed with Natasha.
Their journey in the second book is not smooth sailing, and there are still many questions to be answered in the third book. We have Natasha finding out of how he coped when they were separated, and giving him the chance to explore his feelings, we have Joshua giving her an ultimatum, we have stalkers, people threatening them, and the big secret which is still to be revealed. We also have lots of steam and heat (they are really on FIRE when they are together, really insatiable), jealousy fits, fights, and possessiveness.
Can't wait to read the next book in the series, and see how the story will unfold.

Oh wow. The maturity level of Joshua and Natasha has drastically improved in this book. I felt for them in the first 30%. Joshua was just so hurt by Natasha's actions. I understood. She's always running away. That would leave emotional scars on anyone. And he was so scarred. The way he handled things with her was a bit cold but I got it. She still thought they could pick up where they left off and his attitude forced her to grow the freak up. When she started holding her tongue and cutting down some of the drama, I was shouting HALLELUJAH!!

What about the multiple POVs?! The author did a wonderful job with this. In the last book, the switch between POVs was hard to follow but it was more seamless this go round. I loved being in Adrian's head. It gave more insight on what was happening and allowed us to see his own story unfolding. He, Cameron, Max and Ben are the glue holding these characters together.

I really need to know who had their hands on the pink dildo. This is baffling me. I'm still trying to figure out who the psycho's accomplice is. I feel like it's someone we've already seen.

The love is even stronger between Josh and Natasha and I'm happy with the direction the author has led us. That cliffy though?! I need to find out the true story of Stanton paternity!!

Oh man, this one was full of angst! I swear I got whiplash with all the back and forth. Nevertheless, I loved the story and everything going on. Will Josh and Natasha stay together this time around? Who murdered TC? Will the video ever show up? What about Jensen? And what the heck is going on with that sicko Coby? What's the deal with the Stanton brothers' paternity? So many questions and no answers!!! I will definitely drop everything to read the final book in the Stanton series! So far this series has been amazing. The chemistry between Josh and Natasha is off the charts and the secondary characters are wonderful. This truly has everything I love in a series, except for the fact that final book is not out yet :-) I need these two to have their HEA... I mean how can they not after everything they've been through?!?!?!

2.75 starts. The drama is recycled. He does something stupid. She freaks out. Over and over again. Once again their chemistry kept me engaged. And I enjoy the supporting characters. Honestly, I just want to read the ending of this.

4 Most Improved Stars

Hello, I'm an angst whore and this book gave it to me good. Wow, this episode of Jerry Springer was better than the previous one. Was it an improvement or have I just become desensitized to the MC's melodramatics and all the other messy stuff in this series? I don't know but I really enjoyed this one. In fact, there was a lot I LOVED. Josh Stanton was deliciously alpha in this one. YUM. I wasn't all that into him before but he definitely did it for me in book 2. The boy is a damn dirty talker like no other. I will add that the push and pull between the MC's is beyond ridiculous. Their yo-yoing relationship was OTT...But...it added loads to the angst factor and I'm weak. I'm so so weak to the angst. Despite all the negatives in the series so far--and there are many--I mostly loved it. And at the end, that's what really matters--how a book made you feel.

This is the second book and TL Swan just keeps raising the bar!

Natasha and Joshua have gone their separate ways because, even though she promised Joshua she would never leave him again, that is what Natasha wanted. Due to that heartache, Joshua does a couple of stupid things that just had me yelling at my tablet, "What is wrong with you, you idiot?" One thing is for sure, they are both unhappy being without each other despite the fact that when they are together, they are literally water and oil.

There are big secrets and lies revealed that had me asking myself which way they were going to be handled; either the "correct" way or "Joshua's" way. When the secrets are revealed can Natasha trust Joshua again or will she walk away from him? Can Joshua trust Natasha or will he cut her off for good? Will they finally get their HEA?

I don't want to give away much because I want you to be as enthralled and sucked in as I was. Stanton Unconditional is one heck of a ride; it has twists and turns that had me holding on to my dear heart. One thing is definitely for sure, Joshua and Natasha Cannot. Get. Enough of one another, proved by the scorching hot sex scenes that had me fanning myself continually!!

TL Swan, once again that ending, oh my goodness I did not see that coming!! So please, can I get the next book ASAP, because I just have to know! Can't wait for what else you have in store for Joshua and Natasha. ~ Kara, 5 Scorching Hot Stars

Josh, Joshua, Baby, Stanton...whatever, is not my favorite. I get that he was single and wasn't involved with Tash, Natasha, Presh...whatever at the time (Although, supposedly he pined for her for seven years! Even tattooed her name on his body)but he just couldn't keep his thing to himself. I mean, a prostitute once a week or maybe more, and don't forget the ons and threesomes, foursomes(whatevs)...eeewww. But oh no! Natasha broke his heart so, he would justify it by drinking heavily, going to a club, and getting ONS.

What a douche. Worst part was that Natasha's friends and family are actually on his side. Their reasoning was...you left him, broke his heart...no.

Can't get over Natasha's decision to be celibate after being engaged twice and one of the fiancee was a hot doctor. Did I forget to mention that she was working as a sex psychologist. LOL!

Clearly, I didn't like this one. Keep in mind, my rant above are just my POV. Others seem to like it a lot. I just don't like blatant manwhoring disrespect to the FMC, doormat FMC, and a douche tool MC. I was looking forward to this series after reading Dr. Stanton. So disappointed.

5 dramatic stars!

There may be few spoilers from book 1.
Well, this book is just suited if you like:

*couple in love
*couple in love but always fighting
*jealous girl
*possessive man
*dramatic girl, over-reacting for silly things
*awesome friends
*parties

Even though Natasha had her decision to grow! It hasn't happened that much..
Sometimes I just think she is too boring, childish and dramatic, and she is still crying..
Josh has developed a little.. I still like him, a loooooot... like really a lot

There were really nice twists, the author knew how to keep me connected LOL If I wasn't reading, I was thinking about the book, and this is something really nice, not all the books get to make me feel this way..

Now... I have to wait for 16 days to get book 3... because I never learn...

And since now, I do want to read Cameron's, Bridget's, Abbie's, Adrian's (OMG I love you Adrian and I didn't like what that asshole has done to you) and even Max's books.

This couple is apart for a year. Amalie came between them. Natasha wants to give Joshua the freedom to choose whom he truly loves. She uses the analogy" If you love something set it free if it comes back then it is truly yours." Her Grandmother has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Joshua comes back to visit until she is gone. Tash and Josh getogether after some time of resistance and distrust after their grandma insists. Jes the warden at the jail befriends her and wants to date her. She stays friends with him but doesn't act on her attraction. The TC, hooker that slept with Josh at the beginning of his time in Sydney before he and Tash got back together blackmails him with a video she took of the two of them. She asks for 5 million he ends of giving her a million in cash. Abby and Bridget break into her apartment to steal all her blackmail discs. The police come and ask Josh Ben and Tash about TC and her blackmail video and tell them she is murdered. They are questioned. Cameron is suspicious about Josh's blood type after he was in rehab after his cocaine overdose in LA when Tash had left him after sleeping with Amalie. He has his blood test done and announces he is not a Stanton. Cliffhanger.

Well, this one was bad. I can't believe I finished it. These characters are emotionally unstable. I don't mind when the chars are like this; I mind when I don't understand their motivations.

In other words, I don't understand Tash; she wants to keep her distance and is not transparent, but then demands the opposite. I can't stand this kind of character who only demands. Joshua was right in one of those 187384 dramas when he said that she thinks the world revolves around her.

Josh is one of the worst alpha heroes or wannabe alpha heroes I've ever read. He sounds like a horny teen, not a horny rich executive.

Don't even get me started on the celibacy/friendship attempt. I thought it was simply pathetic. The same goes for the number of people who wanted to show porn videos to destroy and/or want to destroy the MC's relationship. Absurd!

Another thing that bothered me was Joshua once calling Tash a bitch while talking to his friends; talking about her that way is kind of disgusting.

Near the end, he makes the suggestion to go away for a week so she can be with whoever she wants and not have regrets. Gosh, I just wanted to throw the ebook out the window already. The final cliffhanger at the end saved this book; I liked it!

Anyway, the only certainty I have is that if I had read this series first, I probably wouldn't be such a fan of the author.
