This is one of the worst books I’ve ever read. I bought it in about 6th grade, 405+ years ago being grabbed by very early click-bait, its title. I guess back in the early 70s it was easier to get published because this book probably wouldn’t get a second glance now.

It's difficult to read hundreds of pages about a mentally disturbed person and I couldn’t help but wonder how the author came up with such ugly, unappealing, dark behaviors. If I didn’t have such a strong desire to finish it once and for all, (I don’t think I did back when I bought it), I’d have given up and not completed it. Save yourself the time.

The parts including the Stones were the least successful. The middle class American family of the 60s critique was interesting. As were the social and travel bits. The bullying, humiliation and meanness an already mentally unstable protagonist endured was piled on.Take it out on your antagonists or continually on yourself, but leave Mick and the boys out of it.Perhaps the author taking a jab at the Stones music??? 3/5

Yes, this book really existed, though I'm not sure if at some point Jagger's reps didn't sue the book out of existence (I would hardly blame him)! This one gives its (highly improbable) ending away in its title, giving the author the burden of making the trip there as interesting as possible. It should surprise no one that it's as pulpy as a barrel of oranges.
