Hunter Gordon had pleaded guilty to a crime he hadn't committed. And served ten long years in prison. All to save the family who had taken him beautiful Rae Benton and her father. But right before Rae's father died, he revealed his daughter was in danger. Hunter had to keep her safe. How was he supposed to get close? Rae didn't know the truth and blamed him for the loss of all she held dear. Hunter would have to earn Rae's trust—without ever telling her what really happened a decade ago.
There's much more Christian thoughts in this book than I usually see in this series, especially on forgiveness. (One of my friends often comments on these books that what the characters believe isn't usually stated so that they could believe in anything--but I don't think that's true in this one.)
I did like that Rae's father tried to give her plausible deniability by not telling her about his actions, but I didn't like that he kept her in the dark when it probably was going to endanger her. I also understood Hunter not wanting to tell her the truth, especially at first when she wasn't thrilled to see him. I respect that he did not want to spoil her view of her late father. But at some point, I felt like he really needed to tell her what had happened so that she was aware and maybe so they could connect the dots.
A very nice read. Would do more of this author. Trying to recover from the recent death of her father, the main character has to deal with a recently released convict-who was jailed under false charges-but she thinks this man has done major damage to the family business and consequently her father's death. The main characters in this book have all got testimonies of the goodness of God and Jesus Christ, so this is a very clean book and has good progress in the plot. Well written
This is a good clean suspense love inspired story about a young man named Hunter and a young woman named Rae. The two of them coming from two different backgrounds have a complicated relationship. Hunter was taken in by Rae’s family, now there is danger lurking for both of them. Will Hunter keep her safe? This book was a page turner for me. I enjoyed the characters and the story line.
It was just...okay. I couldn't really buy into the back story and didn't really get the connection between the two main characters. I also identified the "bad guy" too early in the story. It had it's redeeming features though too. Okay for a beach read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short little story! The plot was fast moving (obviously) and the twists and turns had me guessing until the very end. The characters were well developed, even for a novella. I loved the strong yet meek Rae and the humble yet protective Hunter. Their romance was sweet and natural.
Don't let the shortness of the story fool you, though. "Keeping Her Safe" has a powerful message. Each character battled God's lessons of forgiveness, trust, and learning that you can't do everything on your own. God doesn't want us to do it all by ourselves. What's the point of His mercy and grace, if we can do it by ourselves? Take what God gives you, use it, and be thankful for it. That's what God wants!
Overall, this was a great read. I will definitely pick up more by this author!
This was a fun book, keeping you hopping. A good storyline, good characterization of main characters and enough suspense to wonder who was at the helm of the fires, etc.
