The Cowboy's Bride

Rate this book
Joe Brewer did not believe in love at first sight...

Still, the cowboy's lonely heart skipped a beat at first sight of Rebecca Stevenson. With her warm smile and sky-blue eyes, this beautiful stranger was Joe's dream come true. He had to know more about her...

A polished professional, Rebecca turned out to be an unlikely match for a hardworking horse trainer. Joe doubted she'd settle for a rancher's simple life.

But Rebecca's radiant expression as they explored the countryside gave him hope. And her innocent trust, as she struggled to rekindle her faith, made Joe thank Heaven for bringing them together.

Now he prayed that Rebecca could look beyond their differences to see the wealth of love waiting in his heart...

I loved this heartwarming love story about Joe and Rebecca. Both have painful pasts they are learning how to turn over to God and follow their dreams for the future. Joe grew up poor and never finished high school and became a truck driver as soon as he was old enough just so he could leave his Dad and his debts to keep his ranch going. Joe always wanted to be a horse trainer but he never seemed to have enough money. Rebecca graduated from college and wanted to be a physical education teacher, but her last boyfriend and his horse severely injured her leg so she walked with a limp even after a lot of therapy. She kept getting turned down for her dream job because of her limitations. Her family is rich and she never wanted for anything until she fell in love with Joe who applied for a loan to save the ranch his Dad left him and his brother at the bank where she was working temporarily for her brother-in-law. Their social backgrounds were opposites and Joe's love of horses put a fear in Rebecca since a horse caused her disability but as this story proves, love can conqueror anything especially if God comes first. I highly recommend this final book of the Cowboys of Aspen Valley series. I hate to see it end but look forward to the next series to start. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Rebecca moved to Aspen Creek for an excellent physical therapist, a new start, a temporary banking officer position and to get away from her overprotective parents. Rebecca is still hoping to become a P.E. teacher, but no school wants to hire her because of her injury. Joe is hoping his loan will go through so he can open a horse arena and grow his horse training business. Since he left his family's debt-ridden farm, he has been working as a truck driver. At church, Joe is captivated when he sees Rebecca at church, but what does he have to over this woman. I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love how Rebecca and Joe come from different backgrounds, but have the same values. I also love how Joe sees Rebecca rather than the her injuries. This is another faith filled heartwarming romance by this author that I enjoy reading.

I found this book quite interesting.  Rebecca Stevenson came from a rich family, fancy house, and had a college degree.  Joe Brewer on the other hand knew what it was like to wear patched clothes and doing without.  He also dropped out of high school. I enjoyed learning about his past and how it shaped him into the man he was today.  I was also glad he had found his faith and was able to forgive his dad.
I liked that the two characters seemed to balance each other out and made the other one a better person.  I also liked that this was a sweet, clean, christian story.  I found it fascinating to learn about Rebecca's father's past.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Joe and Rebecca were an unlikely match; he was from a neglectful and poor home but she was from a well-to-do family with helicopter parents. But in spite of all of that, they had a strong attraction for one another. The one big thing that they had in common was that neither of them felt good enough to be with the other one which turned out to be a hindrance. This was such a heart-warming and inspirational book with characters that felt authentic and who showed growth in their life journeys. I couldn't put it down! I received an advance review copy from the author and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.

Despite their problems, they are drawn to each other. It makes for a ever so sweet love story that you can't put down until you reach the for sure feel good ending. That Joe is the one with faith in spades makes the story even more appealing.

Western Blessings is a faith filled, heartwarming romance. I love Joe and Rebecca. They are both struggling - with different issues. But wonderful things happen when you give your issues to God, he works things out with your best interests in mind. You will have to read how these two manage and work through their issues to get to an HEA. I love this book, this series and Ms. Aarsen's writing. I read straight through and was sorry to reach the end.

Faith? It is trusting God and believing in yourself. This story is powerful as Joe is a new Christian and everything he knows and believes; he lays in the arms of our Lord. He wants more in life; he loves a gal who has what he sees as everything; and he prays for strength to achieve it all. This is an enjoyable read and a storyline that remains in my heart. Thanks for a wonderful book.

I am a big fan of Carolyne Aarsen and Western Blessings lives up to my experience of her books. Carolyne writes good, clean romances and very often of second chances. In this book, you will be introduced to two people with some low self-esteem. Both characters have some pretty heavy luggage and neither believes they have anything to offer.
Western Blessings is the 6th book in Ms. Aarsen's Cowboys of Aspen Valley series. I truly enjoyed this entire series.

Loved Joe and Rebecca's story. Joe had worked his whole life to stay out of debt. Now, he was ready to make his dream of his horse training business to become full time. Only problem was the debt the bank wanted him to take over, from his brother's failing ranch. Rebecca was recovering from a horse riding accident, and was to become Joe's loan agent. I so wanted to smack Rebecca's sister, she was such a controlling snob. I cheered when Rebecca decided to live her own life and not let her Mom or Sister have a say anymore. If you like clean inspiring stories, you can't go wrong with 'Western Blessings'. I highly. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.

Working makes life prestious

Wade hade to work hard for everything in his life and sometimes twice. Rebecca took what was given her until her ex tried to kill her and destroyed her leg. After that Rebecca had to learn to walk and stand up for herself. Her sister and mother forgot what life is about and had thiernoses up in the air. Wade took untold amount of ridicule growing because he couldn't do two full time jobs at once at a young age of 14. One job a full-time ranch hand and the second being a student. Wade was not rich or well to do but paid off his father's gambling and drinking debts while putting what food he could on the table. Excellent read

I have loved this series and Joe and Rebecca have a good story. I’ll be honest and say if Lane turns his life around in a later series, I’m not sure I would be happy unless he’s had to pay a heavy price for that turnaround. Guess I’m not good at forgiving and forgetting. Carolyne Aarsen really drew me in with this series and even though I had read the first ones, I read them all on a binge mode. I have enjoyed visiting Aspen Valley and look forward to her next series set here.

Joe and Rebecca are an unlikely match, but they find themselves strongly attracted to one another. Their romance faces a number of stone walls: her family, her insecurities, Joe's pride, and other issues. However, as they look to God and grow closer to each other, they both begin to see where God is leading. The characters are sweet and the book well written. Sweet and clean and spiritually encouraging.

Western Blessings

This story is about a young woman who was injured in an accident and ended up with an injured leg. She meets a young man who is considering buying the family farm and bringing it back to life. This story is a very in-depth story on how one can go from being from a very wealthy family member to falling in love with another who came from the other end of the spectrum. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Western Blessings by Carolyne Aarsen is a sweet, clean cowboy romance. It is about a poor cowboy falling in love at first sight with a girl who just happens to come from a rich family. The story is full of love, scriptures and finding love. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this sweet story. The plot and characters are well developed and the story flows well. I recommend this book. It will make your heart feel the love between Joe and Rebecca. Enjoy.

Joe is rich in his love for God, but believes Rebecca would never want a man without money. Rebecca comes from a wealthy family, but desires a simple life and to know God's Love. Who is richer, the one who knows God or the one with money? This book gently reminded me that I should strive for the spiritual treasures because those things endure even after death, the crowns we lay at the feet of Christ.
I received a copy of this book from the author, but my review is voluntary. I love this series!

I loved this whole series.

The characters in each book pulled on my heartstrings and made me realize how each character had their own individual problems but found the right one for them with God’s guidance and a strong faith. I love family based story’s with lessons learned in each one. I will keep reading this author’s book and most likely enjoy each one.

Joe and Rebecca

Finding love is so hard when he's a poor rancher and her parents are rich. They find each other and work through the pain of family and getting closer to God. The characters go through so much but have the best what happens to them.

I don't often read a romance but this is a nice break. Joe has an attitude, and not at all sure about this new girl in town. And Rebecca is not at all sure about Joe, so how will they get together?

I loved Rebecca. She and Joe come from very different homes. I always love the Christian aspect of this author's books. Sometimes assumptions are made that aren't exactly correct. Great addition to this series. Sweet ending. This author has a way of writing that makes me "feel" what the characters are feeling.

"Joe Brewer is a horse trainer who is forced into taking over a rundown ranch that his brother inherited from their deadbeat father. He keeps his life as simple as possible and fends off attracted Christian women who are attracted only to his looks.

Joe later meets Rebecca Stevenson at his bank; she's related to the bankers who are negotiating a loan for his ranch and she's also recuperating physically and emotionally from an accident that's left her with a slight handicap. She is everything Joe isn't: wealthy, polished, and professional.

One of the better scenes in the book involves both Joe and Rebecca standing up to her family, particularly Joe's dealing with her status-symbol-obsessed sister, Jenna (who really needs to re-read 1 Timothy 6:9,10) and her parents, who assume that Rebecca can't handle living on less.

For a Christian, wealth isn't necessarily bad. Jesus stated that it would be easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into the kingdom, meaning that most wealthy people want only to keep their wealth and obtain more; they don't see the true value in spiritual things (Matthew 6:33). Money isn't the root of all evil; the love of money is."

Western Blessings by Carolyne Aarsen
Cowboys of Aspen Valley Series Book Six
Joe Brewer had plans. The bank has other plans. Instead of driving a truck all over, he wants to spend his time training horses. Make his own way in life, not go into debt like his dad and brother did.
Rebecca Stevenson hopes that Patrice Anderson can help her get back to full speed after an accident a year ago. Meanwhile, she’s staying with her overprotective sister and working for her brother-in-law at the bank.
Joe grew up poor. Rebecca wanted for nothing. Their own self-images are the only thing that can keep them apart. Rebecca feels like people only see her as a cripple now. And for both of them, pride is a huge wall. I’m sorry to see this series end, as I enjoyed the setting, characters, and stories.
