Meet Slippery Jim, aka The Stainless Steel Rat, aka James Bolivar diGriz, a man of many names and many talents... all of which add up to make him one of the greatest conmen of all time.

Charming, quick-witted, physically fit, a master of disguise, a skilled liar, an accomplished bank robber and exceptionally talented at breaking and entering, Slippery Jim is everything a master thief should be. He's also about to be caught, turned, and sent back out onto the streets as part of the Special Corps.

But joining the Special Corps is only the beginning; there's a beautiful - and beautifully villainous - woman in charge of her own battleship, an interstellar war, a guerrilla campaign and an evil plot by an ancient nation, known as the United States of America... It's up to the Stainless Steel Rat to save the World!

Three stars primarily because of the 3rd book in the trilogy, which I did not find as engaging as the first two. It was just a bit too fast and furious for me, relative to the first two. Still overall a fun set of books to read. Book 1 on its own would be 5 stars.

I got this because my dad used to read the stainless steel rat.

I've come to the conclusion that my dad reads shit books. The writing is nieve and the humour is as funny as syphilis.

But this is just my opinion

I loved this trilogy as a teen. I don’t think it holds up exceptionally well, although the first book in the trilogy is still quite entertaining.

It was actually three books. Not my favorite. A bit confusing, but the second book was my favorite.
