I really do enjoy reading this series and of course I was excited that this book happens to be a friends to lovers book. Yippee! Those are my favorite because they can be a little unpredictable on how their stories are told and how the two characters come together.

Taylor is taking some much needed time off after a mission but his match making friends think it's time he settles down with a nice girl. His new mission is to find a fake girlfriend to through them off course but when the lines start to blur from fake to very real he just hopes their friendship will stay in tacked.

Cat is a contractor who has followed in her fathers footsteps. She has crushed on Taylor since they were little but she knows she isn't his usual type. After saying yes to being his fake girlfriend she thinks her heart will stay in one piece and the friendship will be fine but after some steamy kisses Cat might just loose her heart.

I really did love how close these two were as friends. Although they didn't see each other on a regular basis they had a solid friendship and shared a lot of great memories together.

One of my favorite parts is when Taylor sees Cat and wonders when did she get so hot?! It was like someone finally smacked him upside the head it was pretty funny. The more the fake relationship goes on the more they fall into a routine that worked for them.

This couple has to be one of my favorites in this series because they have more then attraction and off the charts chemistry they have a bond since they have been friends for so long. Even though Taylor acted like an ass and tried to push her away I love how Cat was there and wasn't going anywhere. She saw that he's worth fighting for.

It was great seeing the previous characters and I loved how they all got along. I can't wait for more of this series!

A SEAL's Secret
4 Stars

After a particularly difficult mission, Navy SEAL Taylor Powell wants nothing more than some rest and relaxation. His buddies' wives, however, are determined to find him the perfect woman. To avoid their matchmaking efforts, he asks his childhood friend, Cat Peres, to pose as his new girlfriend. Cat, who has loved Taylor from afar for years, reluctantly agrees on the condition that they remain friends no matter what. However, the chemistry that flares quickly between the SEAL and the contractor may just have them rethinking their plans...

After a couple of lackluster installments, Weber's series is back on track with Taylor and Cat's friends-to-lovers romance.

Cat is a very engaging heroine. Smart, strong and independent, she knows what she wants in both her personal and professional life, and is willing to take the necessary risks to achieve her goals. Her non-traditional occupation as a building contractor is an added bonus.

Taylor's initial characterization as a womanizer, both here and in the previous book, made me wary; however, the player vibe quickly subsides in favor of his genuine feelings for Cat. He clearly respects, admires and loves her.

The conflict stems primarily from Taylor's PTSD after the mission, and his desire to keep his relationship with Cat separate from his career as a SEAL. Thankfully, this is resolved without too much angst.

The next book is the last in the series and focuses on another lady's man in the Teams. Hopefully, this trope will be kept to a minimum as well.

Love these hot, sexy, passionate Seals. This book is about Taylor, who loves them and leaves them, unlike some of his teammates. However, wives of his teammates wants to see Taylor settle down . They try to set him up, but Taylor beats them to the punch. He decides to have his longtime friend Cat go on a fake date to a beach party with his teammates and their wives.

Cat is a classic tomboy and has always fantasized about having passionate sex with Taylor. She agrees to go on the date to help him out, but is unsure of what the outcome will be. Can friends with benefits work out when a bump in the road occurs or do they go they separate ways?

Love hot, passionate, and sexy Seals, this book is for you.

I do love these strong sensual SEALs and have loved all of the stories so far in this series and they just seem to get better this is Taylor "The Wizard" Powell's story and what a story it is friends to lovers fake girlfriend and a hot sexy journey to a HEA.

When Taylor's SEAL buddy's wife's and partners start talking about matchmaking for Taylor he decides to get a fake girlfriend to stop it he has issues that he is working out and this is the last thing he wants so who else would he choose but his long time best buddy Cat Peres tomboy and all round good guy but little does he realize that this choice will change his life for the better.

Cat Peres who is a builder and is running the family construction company and looks great in a tool belt has had a crush on neighbour and best friend Taylor since school but he has always treated her as one of the guys so it is quite a shock to be asked to be his fake girlfriend and she is very concerned that they will lose their friendship but agrees to help with one promise.

This is a fabulous story that should not be missed it is so passionate sensual and so very enjoyable I loved Taylor and Cat their journey is filled with emotion and to see them become more than friends will have you smiling yes don't miss this one MS Weber never disappoints.

Great Book!
This is a great book; this is the tenth book in the Uniformly Hot Seals series by Tawny Weber. This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read one you will have to go back and read the others. Lieutenant Taylor “The Wizard” Powell is a sexy seal who is used to getting out of tricky situations until now. He asks his tomboy friend Cat to pose as his fake girlfriend to keep his matchmaking friends out of his love life. What he isn’t expecting was how sexy Cat is without her tomboy clothes on. Cat has had a crush on Taylor for years, so when he asked her to pose as his girlfriend she didn’t hesitate. If you are looking for a great romance then you need to read this book. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out.

This is a breezy, pleasant read about Taylor, A SEAL home on leave who goes to a party with his friends and their significant others. He brings his old friend, Cat. He plans on using Cat as a buffer against his friends hooking him up with an endless array of women "Made for him," because he is still happily single and unattached. Cat is aware of the deal and believes she can play the part of Taylor's girlfriend without getting involved with him. You see, Cat has been fantasizing about Taylor for years. She also knows he considers her his tomboy best friend. She doesn't believe he actually considers her an attractive woman. Taylor is bound and determined to convince her otherwise!

Taking a friendship to the next level is never easy because there is so much to lose. When one has more invested like their heart, while the other is at still the “score” stage. How do you know when all the promises say, “Nothing will change no matter what?”
That is where trust comes in and true friendship along with love. You see Cat Peres has had a crush as well as love with Taylor Powell since she knew what it all meant. Their families lived across the street from one another and their moms are best friends.
Cat has been hanging around his house or events as long as he can remember. She wasn’t like her sisters all girly girl at all. And since Taylor was an only child and enjoyed the same things she did the hung out. Which was cool since his was four years older. He even had a pet name for her “Kitty Cat” which she hated.
She even helped him rebuild him rebuild his engine on his first car an old Nova. She was there when he got through SEAL training. In fact she teased him all when he came home to his mom’s, “What you home to wash your cape and tights superhero?” Never allowing him to get a big head just because he was a big bad SEAL.
Living so close she also noticed that Taylor had a “type” of girl he dated, in fact the whole neighborhood did. Yes, girls not women. Because women have brains the usual ones he dates don’t. Just blonde, big Hooter boobs, petite, curves, and giggly girl types. So over the years her fantasies took on more and more exciting adventures. So this weekend while both Taylor and Cat’s moms were away in Vegas being that she was part owner in a family construction company she would work on Taylor’s mom’s house. So she planned on that today. When she was under the bathroom sink cursing at it she is startled by a male voice which she knows all too well. It is her long time crush and friend himself, Taylor.
After some jabs and teasing Taylor asked for a favor but in a way he didn’t know he had hurt her feelings by calling her one of the guys. But he asked her to be his date to a bonfire party at the beach with the SEAL’s and families. She would be his fake date. The reason being that the wives and such are trying to fix him up and that’s not what he wants. She says yes to him but doesn’t really like it for she will have to be lying to good people.
Like Cat, Taylor has his own fears and shadows lurking in his brain. Yet, at the same time see that one of his best friends, outside of the SEAL brotherhood, has grown up into a beautiful woman while he wasn’t looking and not only is it playing with his body but now his fantasies, mind, and heart. How did that happen he’s a trained professional? How did he not see how beautiful she was? All questions he found himself struggling with along with a mission, and a pup he brought in who was now second guessing himself and the program. His brain was on overload and he needed to figure it all out and soon. Yet he noticed just being around Cat had a calming effect.
This was a cute story. It was a Cinderella story if she was Punky Brewster. A girl in love with a boy who only goes out with the princess and in this case is a tomboy maid. Yet, one day the tomboy maid is all grown up and the prince can see no one else but her. The author really gives Cat a voice in the limo finally which was good. I give this 4 stars. Really good friends to lovers story. Taylor and Cat have been friends for a very long time. When Taylor comes home from his latest mission he discovers that the wives and girlfriends of his teammates have decided that it's time to find him a real woman instead of his usual "bimbo du jour". Desperate to find a decoy, he asks Cat to be his fake girlfriend to throw them off track.

Cat has been crushing on him for almost as long as she has known him, but realized very early that she wasn't his type, so has settled for friendship. Playing his girlfriend is like a dream come true - as long as it doesn't wreck their friendship.

I loved their first meeting after awhile of not seeing each other. Taylor is stunned to realize that Cat is no longer just his buddy but has turned into an amazingly hot woman. It sort of fries his brain cells, but leads him to ask her to be his fake date for the team beach party. It was fun to see tomboy Cat take her friend's advice and look like a woman rather than just one of the guys, and I loved the effect it had on Taylor. In order to cement the deception, Taylor was a lot more "hands on" that he usually would be with her. Neither expected the effect it had on them, and it especially freaked out Taylor. But neither could deny the strength of their attraction. Both of them thought they could indulge in it and still keep their friendship intact.

I loved seeing their relationship develop. Because they had known each other for so long, there was already a strong foundation of knowing each other. Spending time as a couple deepens that knowledge, but for Taylor it is a two-edged sword. He is trying to deal with some stress from the events of a previous mission and it isn't going so well. The only thing that relieves it is the time he spends with Cat, but he doesn't want to dump his troubles on her. Cat senses that there is something bothering him, but can't get him to open up to her. I loved seeing the way that she fit in with the women of the group, and the insight it gave her to what it was like to care for a SEAL. Things were looking pretty good for them until the night of the military ball. Then Taylor's fears came crashing down on him and he pushed away the one person who could help him most. I loved Cat's reaction and how her strength enabled her to lay some truths on him.

It was wonderful to see how that made both of them take a good look at their lives. Thanks to help from their friends, each one saw things they'd refused to face before. Dealing with those made it possible to see what they could have together. I loved the ending as they were finally able to share it all. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them in future books.

Another bonus of a long running series like this is the opportunity to see characters from previous books. I loved seeing various couples and how they are doing now. I also loved the tight friendships and the support that was always there when it was needed. It was also pretty sweet to see how the SEALs' ladies took to Cat but were also watching out for Taylor. That conversation was pretty amusing. I also loved the appearance of Taylor's three buddies at the end and how they helped straighten him out in their own unique way.

First time reading this series and I must say I really enjoyed the story. LT. Taylor Powell a Navy Seal is back from a mission and during the get together at their local bar the wife’s and of some of his teammates want to set him up with a real date not the one night stands that he always brings around. While they are talking to him he says he is dating someone and after he leaves he now must come up with a date for the Saturday bon fire. Catrina Peres is a contractor and can run a crew of men, on a job site and take care of three job sites, not that she wants to her uncle who is supposed to help is always out and she feels like she is running the family construction company, but her uncle still is. The youngest of five girls she always followed her dad around from job to job, learning how to hammer, pour cement, etc. not what to wear on a date how to put on makeup, and she is glad that her sisters are making her mother a grandmother and are married because that takes the pressure off of her. Taylor and she have lived across the street from each other for ever and his mom and her mom are bff’s. Taylor comes home to his mom’s home on the person he finds is Cat, she is fixing a sink. This is the first time that he is seeing her as a woman and not as his best friend, he is surprised how beautiful she is but not shocked. He asks her to go to the bon fire with him Sat and she agrees. After being there awhile she does not like faking and not being honest with the people that she has meet. They end up kissing a few times and after he takes her home he shows up the next night after her work. He talks to her in taking their friendship to the next level and she agrees. Everything is going good for many weeks and then he is gone for a mission again for two weeks. When they get back the ladies call her to meet at a bar and she notices that he is off a little bit. During this time it comes up about the Navy Ball and if she was going. He does ask her and they are having a good time when part way through she notices a change in him. They leave and on the way home he turns into a—hole. The problem is he got pissed at a construction worker and she gives it right back both barrels, when she leaves the car he realizes that he mess up and he must fix it, but he has to fix himself first. Do they get back together and if so how does he do it? Read the book a good story. I got this book from netgalley. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

I received and ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review and here it is.

Let me start by saying that I'm a Tawny Weber fan, as well as a fan of this series, and I thoroughly enjoyed this installment, a friends-to-lovers story, very much indeed.

Taylor is the Navy SEAL in question. He's just returned from a tough mission in Afghanistan, and is having the traditional just-back-home drink with his SEAL buddies at a local watering hole. When he's informed that their ladies are planning a beach barbecue and that he's expected to attend with a date, preferably not one of the blonde bimbos they usually see him with. When the matchmakers offer to happily fix him up with one of the non-bimbo women they know as his date, he tells them he already is seeing someone who he plans to invite. Having grown tired of the relentless ribbing his "I don't do relationships" rule has engendered, and unwilling to settle for a blind fix-up date, he informs them he will indeed bring his girlfriend along. The only problem is that he doesn't actually have one.

Enter the heroine--Cat, Caterina Peres, Taylor's long-time gal pal--someone he's been friends with since grade school. She's as far from being his type as you can imagine. She works in construction for the family business she someday hopes will be hers. She's tall, lanky, strong, and as far from being a girly-girl as possible. She's been crushing on Taylor for over a decade, but if there's one thing she's knows for certain, it's that she's definitely not his type, but a girl can dream, and Cat certainly does.

When Taylor asks Cat to be his fake-date for the beach party, she's stunned but agrees to go. Taylor, who hasn't seen her for years is stunned that she's become a beautiful woman, and their friendship begins to turn into much more that that. You'll get no spoilers from me, but it's a rocky road from friendship to more, and while Cat doubts that any of what's happening between them is real, Taylor doubts that Cat can handle all that his being a Navy SEAL entails. My only complaint is that I would have really loved an epilogue.

Prepare for some steamy scenes, some laughter and some tears, get comfortable and enjoy the ride--it's a good one!

Taylor Powell is back from Afghanistan, and his buddies and their significant others are in a matchmaking mood; even the server at the local bar has “someone she wants him to meet”. So he lies, he says he does have a girlfriend, but now he has to bring said girlfriend to the bonfire his friends are holding, 2 days away. Taylor has to find someone, and who better than his friend Cat. Cat Peres and Taylor have been friends since they were children, even their mothers are BFFs. Cat has been lusting after Taylor since she’s known what lust is, but she has always been one of the guys, even to Taylor. Cat’s job probably doesn’t help either: she’s a contractor, and not a girlie-girl, and definitely not Taylor’s type; she’s acknowledged that a long time ago. On the day before the big non-date, Cat is fixing things at the Taylor house, for his mother, and he begins to see that she might be a girl after all…

Tawny Weber always delivers: you get complex characters, women who are not dependant on men, and sexy SEALs. I wasn’t sure how the story would go, because Taylor’s “mission: seduction” seemed a bit cold and calculated; he’s thinking only of sex and that nothing will change. He now sees Cat as a sexy woman, but he still does not se her as a potential girlfriend, and this is because of personal issues he refuses to deal with. Cat is a strong career woman, but I felt a bit sorry for her for carrying a torch for Taylor for so long. Maybe I was not in the right frame of mind when I read A SEAL’S TOUCH, but I didn’t connect with the characters, especially Taylor, as I usually do with Ms. Weber’s. But still, there are quite unexpected plot twists I never saw coming, great background on both Cat and Taylor, and of course lots of steamy sex!

Favorite Quotes:

“After all, he liked-no, he loved-sex. But the only thing he was willing to commit to was his country.”

“His life was his career Being a SEAL was who he was. What he was. All he wanted. But sometimes it sucked.”

“The kiss might have done its job a little too well. Because his body was convinced, too.”

“Fantasies were free. Real always came with a cost.”

“Because when he was with Cat, everything was right. Just right. He loved her. Holy crap. Taylor’s mind did a fast three-sixty, his stomach clenching tight. He anted to blame these crazy feelings on his state of mind. But he was thinking straight.”

Misson… Find a sexy fake girlfriend… Meet Cat, the neighborhood townboy whom has taken over her fathers construction business. Meet Lieutenant Taylor “The Wizard” Powell, a womanizer and your main to go to guy to get out of sticky situations. Cat and Taylor have grown up together. Taylor has always seen Cat as just one of them. Yet, Cat has had a crush on Taylor for forever.

Taylor comes home on leave after a mission and catches Cat fixing something in his mom’s house. Whoa.. What happened to the little Cat he knew? This one was gorgeous!

SPOILERS

I really loved Cat and Taylors relationship. I loved how they really suited each other and completed each other as well. Where she was shy, he was hard. Where he was scared, she was strong.

You know going into this pretty much the outcome of the story, hero wins the best friend and lives happily ever after. However, I really enjoyed the tight friendships that were there. They were all “family”. I loved the bantering back and forth between the two and I honestly laughed out loud quite a few times!

I would absolutely recommend this book to a friend for a quick, fun, easy read!

When had his little-buddy-tomboy-neighbor turned into a hot, capable, hot, smart, hot woman? Taylor came back from his last mission with baggage, and it wasn't in his duffel. Seeing Cat distracted him. He'd had plenty of women, the fact made him a matchmaking target for the team's wives and girlfriends. He needed a decoy. Cat. She was the kind of woman they'd buy was more than a one nighter.

For Cat the game was a dream come true, a chance for Taylor to see her as a woman—not the construction boss she was. Not that she wanted to change.

Needless to say, hot guy, hot gal, time together, mutual attraction had all the makings of hot steamy nights, lots of them. But what will that do to their friendship? Neither wanted to risk it. Both told themselves they could handle it.

I loved the story, the characters and the visits with all of the old friends from previous SEAL stories. The guys are still smart mouthed, but loyal and tell it like it is, the ladies still love their guys unerringly and are very careful who they allow in their circle. Can Cat fit? Can they keep the friendship with the steam they create? Cat is open and freely discusses her day to day struggles, business and family. Taylor won't even open up to his team mates who are closer than family. Will his internal struggles interfere in his chance with Cat?

Your heart will hurt when theirs hurts, you will laugh out loud at some on the antics by these guys and the conversations. Rulers have no part in the discussion about the usual anatomy competition. You'll cheer for Cat and her strength. You'll suffer with Taylor and his pain. And you won't be able to put this down until you finish it once you start. A keeper, as expected with Tawny Weber books.

I was provided and ARC for an honest review.

Mmm, one of Tawny Weber's SEALs and the ugly duckling trope. What could be better?

Answer - not much. I adore Ms. Weber's SEAL novels and this was definitely no exception. IMO, regardless of accuracies or inaccuracies (which I wouldn't recognize if one stood up and bit me), she does a great job honoring the brave men and women who serve in our military.

As in most of her Uniformly Hot series, we get to see some familiar faces along with new ones, and it was awesome to see the newly involved SEALs' women try to hook up The Wizard, whether he wants to be hooked up or not. And of course that's where Cat comes from - his desperate attempt to avoid being match-made.

Of course it doesn't go like he expects because Cat has a few surprise of her own, including a smokin' body and the fact that she cleans up REALLY well. Doesn't hurt either that she's crushed on Taylor most of her life. She's a handywoman who very much wants to take over her father's (long dead) business, but is having trouble wresting control from her uncle. I like how Ms. Weber resolves this issue in the course of the book.

I like these kind of books. They may involve the military, at least the service men and/or women, but they don't have a lot of booms and shootings. Taylor is a good man and not an idiot, even if he tries to dodge the fact (like most romance heroes) that he's actually falling for the girl until he has no choice but to grab her or lose out for all time.

I can't wait to read more of Ms. Weber's books, and hope you'll give it a shot too.

I fell in love with these SEALs a long time ago, and the affection seems to just grow with every book in the series. I love the friends-to-lovers plot, and it was done so well, especially since 'the pretend' didn't continue on further than the first kiss.
Cat and Taylor are so incredibly hot together, the chemistry is beyond anything, they are loving, sensual, and so sexy. And the friendship they have is the real thing, since their childhood, they have been part of each others lives, in a natural and caring way.
The story isn't just about the relationship, they have so much more to deal with as well. Cat is trying to handle the power struggles in her family business, trying to find her place in it all, figure out her future, and prospects.
Ty has his job as a SEAL, the demands, pressures, missions, the toll it all is taking on him, and how he is dealing with it all.
Tawny Weber writes delightfully sexy stories, that even though are light and quick to read, are also a joy to read, and often have more to offer than just seductive flirting and scorching romance. The books tell stories that touch my heart, with characters that realize their own strengths and weaknesses, and are doing all they can to make their loved ones feel how special and important they are to them. I have fell in love with every story, and hope there's much more to come

A Seal's Touch is a quick read with a friends to lovers theme that I really enjoyed. This is the first book that I have read by Tawny Weber but I have a few of her other books ready on my kindle as I type this that I can't wait to read now. Although these books can be read as standalones I believe I am going to go back and start from the beginning now that I know what I have been missing out on.

Weber's writing although quick and pleasurable also has a little more depth than just romps in bed and flirting, while still managing to stay fun despite touching on some more serious topics. It has just the right amount of angst to keep it from being too fluffy while still maintaining that light new romance feel. Plus I always love when I am reading a story that makes me say " Yes, These two are perfect for each other!" and that's exactly how I felt about Taylor and Cat. The alternating points of view made things interesting and gratifying. I found it especially delightful hearing Taylor's thoughts on wrapping his mind around Cat evolving into this beautiful woman to him from the tomboy girl that he always thought of her as. His descriptions of her and how beautiful he finds her was very sweet and made me smile. I can't wait to try out more books not only from this series but from Weber's other series as well!

I do not know why but I think I found I really liked this one a tad more than most of them even though all the Seals are scrumptious. Taylor is interesting to me because he is the one that seemed to have a magic touch in funny or harder situations that most could not do. In this one he is gonna come up with a plan to get him out of a situation just because he is now in the minority of being single. The girls just have his best interests at heart and when women are happy in love they want everyone else to be too. Then there is Cat who has always had her eye on him all of him. Being she is in construction she can be a piece in his plan and it will work just fine, right? Funny about plans like theirs to keep him out of sight of matchmaking game they always go astray. In here you will be given their story but with a spin and a bit of drama. Seals always have training and missions with this being no exception. What explodes though between these two will be very hot to handle with but it also might cost them what they are if they do not get it right. He also has some good friends who will remind him that when a woman loves you being a Seal is just part of who they love with acceptance being part of it also. The way this author brings their story together at the end of this you will melt into one goo of a puddle.

Best Seal story yet!!!

What's a big, tough SEAL to do when the wives of his fellow SEALs decide he needs a significant other? Why, he asks his childhood friend and tomboy to pretend to be his love interest! Nothing could be simpler. Right?

Cat has been secretly in love with Taylor "The Wizard" Powell since she was a young girl, but Taylor never gave her a second glance. So, when Taylor asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend, she's skeptical that they can pull the charade off - after all, everyone knows that Taylor only dates busty blondes and Cat is definitely not his usual type. However, she's willing to try if it gives her the chance to show Taylor that she's all grown up.

Taylor "The Wizard" Powell is counting on his buddy Cat Peres to help him evade the matchmaking efforts of his fellow SEAL's wives. Everything is going great until he kisses Cat and realizes that Kitty-Cat is all grown up and their kiss sparks feelings he hasn't experienced before. Will this unexpected attraction turn them into more than friends, or will this be the end of a lifetime friendship?

This is another book in Tawny's Uniformly Hot Series. It's a friends to lovers story, and is it ever hot! I loved it, and you will too.

Lieutenant Taylor Powell (The Wizard) has to find a fake girlfriend, and fast, since his fellow SEALs wives want to fix him up. He goes home and finds his neighbor and close friend Cat Peres fixing his mother's bathroom sink. They have been close all their lives, so Taylor asks Cat to be his fake date. Cat has fantasized over Taylor for years, and can't believe this is happening. Their fake date turns out to be an explosive attraction. The only problem is that Taylor has acute stress disorder and doesn't want Cat to be a part of his life because of that. Will Taylor be able to work through his problems to really let Cat into his life, or will he lose her?

I was given an ARC for review. I was not compensated in any way, and my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Taylor is fresh off a mission and needs some downtime. But with his team's women breathing down his neck, playing matchmaker he has to come up with something quick. His lifelong pal, Cat. She knows all about him and they can play it up for the ladies.
What he doesn't count on is how sexy she is or his reaction to her.

Cat has always had fantasies about Taylor. And now he wants to play at a relationship to trick his team. But all things go wrong when they realize the mutual attraction and act on it. Can they still be friends after it all goes bad or will they lose the friendship they have loved having for years? And when Taylor locks her out when something goes wrong with his job, can she crack through and prove she belongs or will he lose what he never knew he wanted?
Another great SEAL book from Tawny!! Keep 'm coming!!

This is another great SEAL adventure romance from Tawny Weber. Cat and Taylor take their friendship to another level when Taylor asks Cat to be his "fake date" for an event and sparks fly. Taylor, however, is suffering acute stress disorder from his last mission and the ghosts in his head end up driving everyone close to him away. It's up to his old pal Cat to save him and their friendship, while they find love along the way.

While this is at first glance a classic friends to lovers romance, I found it to be unique with several plot lines that made it engaging. I connected with the characters from page one and read the book straight through. In addition to the two protagonists, there were interesting and humorous secondary characters who added even more personality. My favorite character was Cat. I loved her quiet strength. 5 of 5 stars.

Another great Uniformly Hot! SEAL to steal our hearts! It is always great seeing the other guys from the team that we've met in previous books continuing on with the loves that they have found. Really enjoy this group of guys and gals!

Taylor Powell has just returned from a hard mission, and is so not in the mood to have to fight off the matchmaking of his SEAL team's women, so he decides to take a fake girlfriend to the group barbecue.

Catarina Peres has been crushing on her childhood friend for years, so she's willing to help him out if it means spending a little time with him.

When the chemistry between them flares out of control, will their fake relationship become real?

Taylor needs to get his friends off his back about dating and so he turns to his old friend, Cat. He asks her to fake date him so everyone will leave him alone. Cat wants it to be real dating, but she goes along with the fake date. But, something happens and it isn't fake any more. Taylor is dealing with the aftermath of his recent mission and is having a hard time. He wants someone he can count on, but doesn't feel it is fair to put someone through all the heartache. Cat knows something is really bothering him, but he won't open up so she can help him. He needs to put aside his fears and trust her to be strong enough.

A Seal's Touch is another wonderful addition to Tawny's Seal series. Taylor is a Seal and he is tired of his friend's wives trying to fix him up, so he enlists his good friend Cat to be his fake date. Of course, they both start to fall for each other. I love the friends to lovers trope. Also, Cat is a great heroine. She is a construction worker who is strong and goes after what she wants. I highly recommend this book. I sweet love story with some serious sub plots.

Although I was disappointed in books 7,8 & 9 in the Uniformly Hot Seals Series, I was relieved this book has once again returned to the high quality I expected and I loved it. Amazing strong heroine in non-traditional profession, and their HEA felt believable and real. Loved it - 4.5 Stars

A promiscuous SEAL falls for his tomboyish childhood friend

This contemporary romance focuses on several perennially popular romance tropes:

1. A "magical vagina" transforms an inveterate "manwhore." A handsome, ripped hero, who has been endlessly promiscuous for a decade or more (in this particular novel, at least 15 years), discovers the joys of monogamy in the bed of a lusty but virginal woman, who looks nothing like the Barbies he's been casually knocking heels with since his early teens.

2. Friends become lovers. The romantic protagonists have been platonic friends since childhood. In the case of this particular novel, the heroine is a contractor who does home repairs and has been doing repairs on his mother's home for years. Every time she comes over, she sneaks into his childhood bedroom and acts like a stalker, sniffing around the room his doting mother has preserved like a shrine.

3. Fake dating. The hero is morbidly afraid of offending ruthlessly matchmaking friends and relatives, usually always women, and lacks the backbone to politely but firmly inform them that he is not interested in settling down. In the case of this novel, the female matchmakers are the wives and girlfriends of his SEAL buddies. He begs his longtime, platonic, female friend to be his fake girlfriend to ward them off. This opens the door to his, at long last, noticing that she is actually an attractive female, not an androgynous piece of furniture, and he discovers to his amazement that he is actually sexually attracted to her. And of course, when they start having sex, it is the best sex he ever had in his entire promiscuous existence. See trope #1, magical vagina.

If you enjoy these particular tropes, you might enjoy this latest rendition of them. If not, it will just be a ho-hum read, because it comes off as just another hackneyed rerun. Unfortunately, I belong to the latter group of romance readers.

I experienced this novel as an audiobook. The narrator has a deep, gravelly voice and, while he does a great job with male characters, his attempt at falsettos for female characters is quite grating.

B879 Feb16 Uniformly Hot: SEAL's #10. Catarina Peres and Lt. Taylor Powell, aka "Wizard", has returned from a mission filled with doubt and anger. They have been best friends for years. She is running the Peres Contracting business since her father's death. Her uncle, Marcus, owns 50% of the company and she, her mother and siblings, each inherited 10% of it.
This is an interesting mix of family, friends, work, failure, strength, love, and acceptance.
