The Nova Chronicles are always good for a nice quick read for those that enjoy some good action/adventure. The books aren't long and the characters could benefit from some more depth but the read is always light and fun and never boring. In this one we get to see a little bit more of the main character's background which was great. It's also great to see she actually has some friends. I'd love it if the scenes were a little more drawn out sometimes. For example, there's one scene where one of the characters is upset with the main character but by the next sentence is over it. It feels a little rushed in some parts. Still entertaining but I feel that a little extra would make it a great read.

Summary: Hectic. Space opera SF, lots of action. Better setting than the first books but I hope the future is not like this

Plotline: Not well thought through and a bit silly at times, but plenty of action

Premise: Really doesn't work and generally glossed over

Writing: fast and furious

Ending: Case solved

Pace: Never a dull moment!
