From the Bestselling author Saxon Andrew comes the final book in the Escape to Earth Series, Living Legends. The Legends are building new super Warships to attack Earth and its Allies and to remove the Sentinels as a threat. The Goran Scouts have intercepted their plans and the location of their new warship. A quick scan of the Legends' new main battleship shows its a monster. The galaxies controlled by the Legends are gathering their fleets and soon, Earth will be attacked again by a larger and more powerful enemy. A new First Commander must be chosen quickly to lead the three allied galaxies against the coming storm. What Earth and its allies don’t know is that a new telepathic species has joined the Legends and it feeds on the minds of intelligent beings. They are also unaware that there are more Living Legends than they ever thought possible. The war is coming and the numbers will make all the other invasions look tiny in comparison.
Living Legends is the final book in the series and it takes off at full speed and doesn’t slow down. Excerpt from Living Legends
Luke pressed a button on his console and the gigantic wall monitor illuminated. A small light appeared in the center of the monitor and then grew larger as the ship scanning it moved forward. The small light quickly resolved itself into a planet and it continued to quickly increase in size. The planet finally filled the monitor and everyone was stunned by what they saw. Luke looked at Michael and saw him sit back in his chair and blow out a breath. Michael saw Luke staring at him and shrugged, leaned over, and whispered as the recording continued, “You know they were going to eventually do something like this?” “Why?” “It’s exactly what we’ve done over the last twenty years.” Luke pointed at the monitor, “We’ve built nothing like that?” “My mom said that size is not always the determining factor of what makes a warship really dangerous.” Luke didn't hear the Goran Scout describing the Legend Battleship , turned, and saw the video had ended. He looked at the assembled Alliance Leaders, who were all staring at him. He stood up and pointed at the frozen image of a gigantic warship on the huge monitor, “This vessel the Legend Elder is having built is as large as a small moon or large asteroid. Unfortunately, Hengel couldn’t move in any closer to record a better scan. I think the Legends are starting to detect energy in the barrier.” He heard the gasps from the Alliance Leaders; if that were true, it could prove to be extremely dangerous. The Johan shook his head, “Just how did he make that determination?” “He skipped in closer initially and started recording but a fleet of Black Warships Ships began moving out of orbit toward him. He backed out and after ten minutes, they turned around. They evidently detected something but didn’t know what it was.” The Welken Royal shook his head. Luke continued, “The images he managed to take aren’t as good as we would like but we can see that the disruptor emplacements on both of those ships they’re building are actually larger than the ones we faced on the Legends’ Planet in M-87.” The Goran Leader thought, “Can we stand up to it?” Luke changed the image and the assembly saw another ship that was nearly half the size of the monster. “I don’t know if we can and the ship on the monitor now has to be the new warship model that the Legend Elder mentioned. Once he completes building the monster, he intends to build thousands of the other model.” Michael shook his head, “They don’t build things in the thousands. He’ll be building millions.

This series really does have echoes of EE Doc Smith’s Lensman books, especially with the increasing use of ‘telepathic powers’ and the ‘superior beings’ directing things from the background. The story was fine and it kept me interested until the end, but there were quite a few loose ends, which I presume gives the author the opportunity to start a new series.
Like all of Andrew's stories,a satisfying read. The 5 book series comes to its conclusion. I enjoyed the interplay of the characters and the progression of the plotline. All of Andrew's series are similar yet different. The fun is in how he puts the story together.
loved this series great characters and great world building. the aliens and their interactions were done well. my only complaint is the series is complete.
Most books I read are Military -- Historical, Fiction, Sci Fi, Fantasy. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic but I read, 'evaluate', etc. all, regardless of genre, the same. The story, plot, characters, environment, equipment should/ do convey, evoke(?) the same emotions, feelings, evaluations (equipment, tactics, etc) despite source and genre. I compare all against my A list -- All Quiet on Western Front, Forgotten Soldier, Fields of Fire, Somme 1916, Killer Angels, Guadalcanal Dairy, Dispatches, Pork Chop Hill, Hill Fights (67-68), Time to Live Time to Die, etc. My 5 star A List isn't really that large -- 30 tops. I pitch so many regardless of genre and many authors have served but does not make you an expert. Some of my favs are taping mags together(hard to get small, cumbersome ,balance, weight, etc) and using enemies 'superior' weapon(Love it, getting fragged by your own side because they hear an AK close by, your in survival mode, use all your senses, etc). If they do that stuff, amongst many others, I have no interest.
At any rate, this is NOT MILITARY and whoever classified or tagged it as such needs help. There are many, even most Sci Fi authors who make the same mistakes or write in such a way that clearly demonstrates their lack of military knowledge. No reason to go thru laundry list. BUT...Like many peers, author's male/female ratio is horribly off. Despite having every piece of substantial research prior to USA Afghanistan involvement tossed, lowering standards and metrics for infantry, they only been able to raise female passing infantry school to about 4%. However, their lethality drops dramatically and quickly. Granted, flying n stuff would enable quite a few more but Sci Fi authors are clueless. If they do this to sell more books, it's deplorable.
The order of magnitude -- millions, etc. -- and weapons author uses kills credibility. A battle is a skim, it makes no sense and weapons give you zero sense of being able to identify. We got saved in a major war but with little military help. The smartest, bravest, all knowing real warriors are ... Teachers, Professors?
Why 2 stars? The starting premise was interesting and the author had some moments. Some of the dialog was good but got stale fast as everyone found their perfect mate. 1 -- 2 ? Who knows n who cares. Just decided to start template response to a lot of this so called military writing starting, unfortunately, with this author. I'm sure he's a good guy, I just don't believe love solves all.
I got so into this series that I couldn't hardly wait until the next one in the series came out. It's a fast paced space action packed with a great storyline series. This is the type of series I love and am glad to see that it's not the end of the story. So we will have to wait and see . I would recommend this book and whole series to anyone who like space battles and the ,what if it did happen? Great job Mr. Andrew. Keep up the good work.
Fantastic ending with questions that will be answered. Thank you Saxon Andrew for a fun and exciting adventure series. Forgot to add hopefully in a new series.
