Currently on page 167... Will have this finished by the time I go to bed. Then will up date my review to let it be known what I think!

Well took me a little longer to finish than planned, blame it on the children!

A lovely easy read. I love that people from completely different backgrounds have been brought together, people are people to me, however it will be great to see how the relationship between Dee and Jason develops over time. The characters are easy to bond with, I like Tip, I picture him as quite a comical lovable character. I find Dee a bit of a hot head, who sometimes I'd like to slap upside the head! On the whole though I like her and think she has strong although slightly skewed values. Jason I am still unsure of. It appears he is too good to be true. I was disappointed for Kiki, I could have seen her having her own little spin off series, who knows, maybe she will?
On the whole I think this will be a good series. I am looking forward to learning more about everyone and of course finding out what happens next.

I'd completely forgotten this was a part 1 book so was gutted when it ended. hurry up with the next part please Georgia!!

Didn't want to stop reading this book. The characters were so captivating and real. Dee and Jason's struggles made for a fascinating read because their lifestyles, and the struggles within them, were so different and almost contradictory, resulting in an interesting combination once they collided. Dee's character is strong with a hard exterior, but simultaneously soft and vulnerable in the most interesting way; shaped by her life experiences. She's quite introverted and implicit with her emotions, which faces her with a whole new way of life when she becomes involved with Jason.

Jason's international celebrity status places him at the forefront of media attention and publicity; his lifestyle already the polar opposite of Dee's, before they even begin to explore each other's backgrounds and get to know one another. As a public figure, Jason's life is under constant scrutiny and speculation, an incompatible lifestyle with that of Dee's. How the characters respond to one another's differences is paramount to the story, and endearing to read. Even in spite of living almost in two different worlds, Jason and Dee adjust to each other's differences to make their situation easier (trying to be careful of spoilers). Synergy is a compelling, un-put-down-able (if that's a word) book that will be stored in my kindle library forever. The expression 'opposites attract' has never been more apparent. A must read!

Just OK

I received this book free for an honest review. I wanted to like this book bc there aren't that many romance books that feature black characters but the plot just seemed really implausible to me. The hero is a very rich musical artist and the heroine is a single mom from the hood who works as a stripper. She has a two year old son from a now defunct relationship. She meets the hero at the club where she strips. They have a one night hook up and she ends up getting pregnant by him. He does the honorable thing and stands by her, even though they come from two very different worlds and come together under very difficult circumstances.

It was really hard to see how these two characters could come together and form a lasting relationship. The hero grew up in a stable home in Tennessee. The heroine grew up in the hood with a mom who is now a recovering addict. She has baby daddy drama. In spite of all these obstacles, the hero really wants the relationship to work, his parents and grandmother openly embrace her and his personal assistant doesn't blink an eye as the hero becomes more involved with her. I kept wondering what world do the live in? The book also has a cliffhanger, which I hate. If I had known that, I probably wouldn't have gotten the book.

Synergy is about two people. Who are on different sides of the tracks. We have Dee whose grown up in a rougher part of town. A part of town that's hard to get out of. She has a job at night and helps take care of her son during the day. With that, Dee meets Jason. A pretty famous guy. She didn't know it at first but they start hanging out more together.

Things in Dee's life start to change and I was really rooting for her. She's been through so much and Jason is different. Someone who could really care for her and stick by her. Unlike, some of the men in her life.

Though, I think this is an interesting story of two people meeting by chance. I felt that I couldn't connect to any of the characters. Some parts moved quite slow. There were moments where things of shock value would happen but I could pretty much predict the outcome of the story....Lissa

When I first started to read this book I was unsure how I would feel. We have read this plot before and I was getting tired of it. Oh boy was I wrong. By the end of this book I was so happy I read it. While the plot is one that is done, the way the author did it was different and refreshing!

Dee was an awesome heroine. She was snarky and strong willed. She didn’t take things lying down and was there to protect the people she loved. She had a crappy home life and my heart broke for her. Over the course of the book, we realize choice the she made were meant to be made.

Ohhh Jason! I loved him! He was your total heartthrob but so different at the same time. He was a family man. He was sweet, sexy, and down to earth! No sleeping around, just a dedicated hero that you will love!

While the plot has happened, the way the author wrote this book it was great. Different and refreshing. There were a few things I didn’t agree with but they didn’t make the book bad, just not something I truly enjoy.

Overall this was a good book. It was a different take on rich man, poor woman, and I would read more from this author in the future.

Please note, book one ending in a cliffhanger.

Dee is a women from the rough part of the neighborhood in Detroit. She works as a stripper and deals weed on the side. She has a family who helps one another. She's feisty.

Jason is a famous musician and one night he goes to a strip club and meets Dee. They have one night of romance and a couple weeks later she's pregnant. I liked Jason a lot.

It is a typical story of rich boy meets poor girl and they end up pregnant together. Dee though did not want to accept his money which I feel like was a good thing. Proved she was strong willed women who knew how to take care of herself. Sadly though I felt that story moved way to slowly and had to much detail. It also felt a little all over the place for me. It was hard to keep up with the different stories all at once.

While this book may not have been for me someone else might find something in it to like. It did end with a cliff hanger and i do hope it ends well for Dee and Jason. 3.5 stars.

4.5 Cliffhanging Stars!

I absolutely loved the first book in this series, Synergy. Dee is a strong independent woman who will do whatever needs to be done to care for her 2 year old son! She may live in the hood, and may have dropped out of school but she’s not scared to take care of herself by any means necessary, including taking off her clothes for tips. Jason, who lives on the other end of the spectrum though is by far my favorite, although slightly irresponsible at first, he stepped up to the plate with Dee. He’s been a caring, understanding selfless person from the start and has been 100% committed to Dee. He’s almost the perfect man. The only issue I had was the cliffhanger I hadn’t been expecting. I can’t wait to read book 2 from G. Payne!

Dee is a young woman from a bad neighborhood she has a 2 year old son who lives by her mother because she can't afford taking care of him by herself. Her job is as a stripper.
One da at her job she meets the famous musicians Jason and one night Leeds to another.

It is a amazing story about a poor girl who has a lot of struggles in her life. I really liked it and I couldn't put it a side. There are a lot of action. I will highly recommend it and I am looking forward to reading a lot more from this author

Title: Synergy
Author:
Stars: 5/5
Outline:
Dee had lived her whole life in a ruff part of Detroit. Dee knew how she lived her life sometimes was not what most people would think was acceptable but Dee had her son to take care of and did what she had to do regardless of what people thought. Jason Taylor was a famous musician who worked hard to get were he was but the night he walked into the strip club Dee was employed at he was just Jason. Dee and Jason met and felt a connection which led to a steamy and some what blurry one night stand. After that night they both felt something for each other a tug to get to know each other. Even though they had to different backgrounds and were so different from each other they felt like it might be worth a try. Soon something would be coming into their lives that could make them or break them. Jason and Dee seemed ready for the ride too see were this big something would take them.
Review:
