After being separated for almost two years, Zak finally has his girl back and this time this ex SEAL has no intentions of letting her go again. She'd ran scared because she couldn't handle his over possessiveness and the way she thought he wanted to rule her life, but two years apart had shown her that she couldn't live without him. There was just one thing, a secret that could tear them apart for good.
"You f**ked up royally, I don’t even know what to say to you and she isn’t mine. You shoulda known he was gonna go ape shit.” I was sitting in Logan and Gaby’s kitchen trying to come to terms with the scene that had just unfolded outside. Yes I had expected Zak to be pissed, but I hadn’t expected the look of unbridled hatred in his eyes. I wasn’t sure I would ever overcome that, and now he had my daughter, and had locked himself away in his house. I felt the disappointment from the men around me, even as Gaby, Dani and even little Susie hung close and tried to offer me comfort. “I know you’re all mad at me, but try to understand, I didn’t do this to hurt him…” “This is a conversation you’re gonna have to have with him. We’re not gonna go against him in this and you know that. I don’t know your reasons for doing what you did, but I do know my brother, and right now, you’re f**ked. There’s no point in me sugar coating that s*it. Just take a deep breath, accept that you were wrong, and know that he’s not gonna be satisfied until he gets his pound of flesh.” “But that’s not fair…” “Nessa, you had his f**king kid and didn’t tell him, do you not know who the f**k you’re dealing with here?”
I did love this. There is rough sex and punishment scenes so if you don't like reading that, this series isn't for you. Little push/pull. They do have an emotional separation that lasts for like 3 days, but I think he makes up for it. She does forgive way too soon. There was no actual rape but at one point someone wanted to rape her and get her pregnant, but she wasn't ever touched. Great read.
SKIPPING THIS WHOLE SERIES FOR THE SAME REASON, Too much pain and punishment for me here. It's not the book, it's just me! The sample tells me I am not the intended reader of these books. Still love this author and have read most of her other books, just can't do this series.
I think out of all the 4 books in this series this one was the least favorite. After re-reading it I'm changing my rating from 3 stars to 1. The reason for this is because I think it is terrible how Zak treated Nessa after he finds out about the big secret and towards the end when another big secret is revealed she forgives him so easily. I'd love it if Jordan Silver rewrote the ending and had Nessa make Zak pay a little bit before she forgives him. He deserves to grovel big time!
This series is getting worse. Rather than getting a story about Zak in his own book, we get a little Zak and a lot of other stuff. Setting up new stories, playing out the previous ones, etc. it all takes away from the MC. I could not get a handle on this couple at all. Have no idea whether I like them or hate them. We barely got any background on their previous breakup. Why she returned. Zak went nuts and behaved in a way that I believe is too OTT - and I did not think I would say that. Taking about killing her (and meaning it) tying her to a bed for days. When did she pee? What she did was horrible. And I do not condone it. But his reaction, well that was terrible in its own special way. And the kaboom that resolved it all in an instant and all was perfect? What was that?
While this is a safe series and free on KU, I still do not know if it is worth continuing.
This is the third book in the SEAL Team Seven series. Zak is a retired Navy Seal who is living in a gated community in a quiet Georgia town with his six Navy "brothers". When Zak was still fighting overseas he had an affair with a Marine, Vanessa. He wanted her out of the military telling her it was too dangerous she refused & left him. It's now two years later & Vanessa is back but she's not alone she has a daughter named Zakira & Zak is beyond pissed !
Usual Jordan silver with a lot of humor, male chauvinìsm, doormat heroine but of course you don’t have to take it seriously. The hero and the heroine are both in the army and in foreign mission when they start their relationship, the hero starts feeling anxious and worried about the heroine and wants her to give up her career in the army and to stay home. She’s kidnapped by some psycho enemy and she decides to leave the hero to avoid putting him and his unborn child in danger. She doesn’t tell him she’s pregnant and she has his child without thinking of ever telling him. Then of course they meet again and accidentally he finds out she had his daughter. He goes overboard. Frankly, he’s insane and it’s quite worrying that he should be one of the good guys, he made full metal jacket heroes look like some fluffy lil rabbits. I understand he’s furious and he’s right but what he did to the heroine for days was borderline psycho crazy, anyway the heroine is a hardened soldier and she has seen worse so she’s not traumatized as any other normal human being would and she doesn’t let him scare her at all. He comes to terms quite soon and finds out she wasn’t keeping his child from him because she’s a nasty bitch. Of course the hero is horrendous and I wouldn’t even look him in the eye if I crossed path with him, you know, but he was celibate, he basically forgave the heroine before knowing why she had kept the child from him and he wanted her back before he knew he had a child, and I also love the book because it’s full of humorous scenes between the hero and his mates and the cute lil child of his.
I seriously thought that this book will be so much better as we have a female lead who is a MARINE!!!!!!!.....alas no such luck*******
There was no suspense here as to what Vanessa's secret was. I was just taken aback by Vanessa putting up with Zak's shit. She is supposed to be this super duper marine and was the best but she came across as even more useless than Dani (Connor's book).
The part where Zak was name calling and wanting to kill her, that killed this book for me. And Vanessa of course, I needed her to have more of a backbone.
Sex was good though, if that helps.
Seeing as how JS is my favorite author I will continue reading her books maybe one day I will be surprised and get a book where the heroine actually talks!!!!
I love all of Jordan Silver's books. I have been waiting for Zak's book and it was so worth the wait. Zack is nobody to mess with. The last time he saw Vanessa they didn't end things well. The team has alot up in the air in the last two years so he didn't keep up with her. When they meet again there are alot of secrets. When those secrets come to light can Zak keep it cool and can Vanessa hold on. This issue such a great series and I can't wait till the rest of the team gets their happily ever after.
This was a well written fast paced story. A story that grabbed you from the sentence and never lets you go. The tension and passion between Zak and Vanessa is off the scales. It makes for numerous hot sexy times. It is heart touching to watch these hot sexy alphas discover how to care for a toddler's needs. Zamora steals the hearts of her Uncles and wraps her daddy around her little finger. Ms. Silver has another great book on her hands.
I could have given more stars but, Vanessa was such a doormat. She was in the marine, got captured by enemies and lived, then she puts up with Zak's crap and forgave him right away. And Zak, the way he treated her, he was an ass !!! It's a sick twisted abusive relationship. Thank goodness I got this book free. I would have been angry if I paid for it.
2.75 stars . Ok Zak went overboard! this was just ok for me. only because I'm curious to see what happens with the rest I will continue to read series but all the talk about killing her was killing it for me! let's hope it doesn't get worse than that!
This is the third instalment in this series and I'm really liking how their stories are unfolding. The characters are coming into their own. Zak and Vanessa certainly had a turbulent time of it and I loved the last few chapters. Onto Tyler next.
Still not quite a fan of the writing style, but the sex scenes worked for me. Includes somewhat forced breeding, the angsty military alfalfa male trope, and a helluva emotional upheaval.
Zak is haunted by the love of his life that left him after his high handed comments. He didn't want his woman to reup for more military service. He wants Vanessa, a Marine specialist to retire and marry him. She has other plans and tells him she won't be controlled. When Vanessa is sent home to the states without settling her issues with Zak he is devastated. He thinks she is lost to him forever. He can't decide if he is finished with her forever or he can't live without her. At the point he thinks she's lost to him she shows up to deliver a key player in the Seals investigation. Zak is in shock that she is standing before him and he wants her back. Life has gotten seriously dangerous on the waterfront and no one is safe. Unknown people are turning up that are key players in this game. Slowly pieces are falling together. Vanessa has one secret that she hopes she doesn't have to reveal, but it all falls apart when danger makes it necessary to lock down the compound. Now Vanessa will see the soldier Zak really is. I love this series & can't wait for the next book!
3 stars for the progression of the story but Zak was a fucktard.
I'm no fan of the secret baby plot ( I feel like there's no really good excuse for keeping your pregnancy secret) but Zak was such a dick to Vanessa he pissed me off. He says horrible mean things to and about her. Ugh!! Then in two pages he's in love with her and forgives her. This is not what I want from an OTT Alpha. He should have groveled for pages. Also, he finds out the truth without any conversation between him and Vanessa, I felt gyped. :( I wanted to hear Vanessa's story and we get none of it except the briefest insight. The ending is so rushed it felt like the author was poking along with the story then thought "Holy F***, I need to end this".
Each book gets better. I love the ongoing back story, it gives a continuity to the stories. Zak is as alpha as they come, so if that isn't your thing this book isn't for you. If you love alpha males, and great love scenes then you willie this book.
Haven’t finished it but this is the 1st novel (I think) that I have read in any genre that actually held a lying woman accountable for her actions. Girl hid this guys baby from him for 2 years too many and just thought nothing was gonna happen when s*** literally hit the fan. Is it difficult to read, yes. However, I also felt like wow, I can’t even describe the feeling, probably elation. I’m used to these women getting praised for having the baby and the dad grateful that the child wasn’t aborted. Like what? And then the Daddy has to beg Mommy to accept his mistakes since it was his fault 100% that she hid the child 🤦🏽♀️ I read a synopsis where a B came back after 14 years with a man’s child and probably would have raised it forever had she not be terminally ill. So yes, this novel will probably be my favorite of the series just for the female accountability. Whatever feminists 😒
I thought I would enjoy this one because everyone loves a second chance love story but it was really hard to get through this one. Zak came off as a super douche! the thoughts that he had towards Vanessa and even the way he treated her was horrible. It doesn't matter that he was mad he shouldn't have tried to shut her out of the baby's life or basically chained her to his bed so he could have another baby as a do over.....On the other side of things I was baffled by Vanessa's reasons for keeping the baby from Zak and I think it wasn't mostly her pride that kept them apart for so long. Ty's reaction to baby Zak was priceless though and so adorable.
So I like this 3rd installment better than the first two. There was more POV on female perspective than other two.
I will be honest and say I was PO way Zak treated Vanessa by tying her up and make her a prisoner and sleeping with her only to breed and making her feel like crap.
I totally understood why he was upset and had every right to be but he was being a dick. It took him to read a classified report to show that their enemy had captured her while pregnant to do the same thing. From what I gathered they are now magically engaged.

I loved this book. Secrets. Family. Jealousy. I understand where he is coming from but I also think he could of done it differently. There is 1 that steals the show and makes ya smile each time and a surprising brother who you wouldn't think would be sooo good with kids. Time to get ya hearts melted.
This was harder to read because of the angst and anger. People get tunnel vision when they are angry. So Zak and Vanessa are on a collision course because of secrets. It takes a few days for his anger to cool and he does some searching only uncover a secret that makes him regret the actions of the past few days.
I'm disappointed in our author she obviously doesn't know the difference between a alpha male and an abusive ass hole. These characters are not likeable male or female. The writing isn't bad and the storyline is interesting.
This story is full of delightful, sensual, desire between two characters Zak the protective alpha male and the strong 💪 beautiful female Vanessa a.k.a. Red / Nessa by Zak. This story has sexy scenes that are hot, hot, hot.
Love the series and this author. These books are a must read! Get kindle unlimited and binge read the entire series. Then read Jordan silver other books and series.
