Rate this book

I gave this book three stars because it contains some good principles and the amount of scripture used is very supportive (though I'm not keen on the Amplified Bible, which she uses predominantly). However, Joyce Meyer's style of writing isn't easy to read. I think this particular book would be better read as a devotional/daily reading because the writing just doesn't flow. I wanted a book I could really get into but found myself glazing over a little.

I find Joyce Meyer's podcasts to be very inspirational and I really enjoyed the book 'Battlefield of the Mind', but this one (as I have found with other JM books) was a bit of a drag.

It has been quite some time since I read a copy of Joyce Meyer's books. This one I located in the law library I work in (with some spiritual selections in the nonfiction shelves). Thus far, this is one of my least liked reads by this author. I usually love her work and greatly admire the delivery as well as the organization of the book aside from the writing. I have purchased numerous material and books by this author in the past. Yet the book cover (different one than this one illustrated), title, and author had captured my interest in the read itself. I hope to dove back into the read once I go back to work which is resting on my desk.

I just started this book the other day. I'm trying to read it as part of my Quiet Time. But I really need to set apart a separate time each day to sit and read and do the study guide. It looks like it will be good.

Took me ages but I had a few books on the go. I actually liked it a lot. There's certain parts like "having fun with favour" and conviction is individual that spoke to me and ill definitely refer to it again

YAY!!!

If Not For The Grace Of God is THE first book I have read this year and this was the best book to start off the year.

Just like in all of Joyce Meyer’s novel, the book starts off by explaining what Grace is. We learn that Grace replaces sin and how it is also like a seed, and that it must be grown in order to reap the benefits. She also writes more about sanctification (the action of making something holy). She also talks about how we should show mercy and not judgment towards others and to always look at the bright, positive side of every single situation.

I highly recommend this book to any person who wants to learn more about Grace and grow into fellowship with the lord. Joyce has written over 100 books and they are all useful in our daily walk with ourselves, others and above all, god!

GRACE, GRACE and more GRACE!

Joyce was right in saying that Grace is not taught enough (or at all) and should be included in a new believer's education. It is not by works but by the unmerited GRACE of God!

Unfortunately Joyce has written a LOT of books - and I say “unfortunately” because, much as I like Joyce Meyer, it seems that anymore her books are just a reshuffling of old material given a new title. This book, however, is one of her older ones (1995) and it’s a good one.

I love the messages in Joyce's books. She is also humble and willing to admit her own faults which makes the books relatable

Love her books. My only complaint is rather trivial. I love to highlight and annotate several observations, comments or references in books as I'm reading them. Unfortunately, this book was bound so tightly that it made it almost impossible to write on it. :( it needed to be more bendy, flexible and accessible. That's all. :)

Excellent help for those who struggle to live as they should. Emphasizes the role that grace plays in helping us to not just deal with our weaknesses, but to overcome them. Practical advice for those who struggle to achieve life in Christ through human effort alone by offering a better way.
