Dee studied English at York University, and Illustration at Harrow School of Art. She began her career in magazines, book-jackets, cartoon strips and pop-video storyboards, and started writing for children when her own children were small. In spite of a diet of gummy bears and sherbet fountains her children have insisted on growing up - so her characters have had to grow up with them, and now even they refuse to do what they’re told!

This book starts from 'I've never picked up an instrument before' to 'quite good'. I would recommend this to someone starting out who wants to work through a book, particularly to someone who wants to teach themselves. There's some really good songs which make all the difference. In Dulci Jubilo, Sumer is icumen in, The Irish Washerwoman, Walking in the air, The sorcerer's apprentice, Summertime, and many more. This book also contains what we both think is one of the most fun piece to play on the saxophone - The Pink Panther theme tune! Shows fingering, introduces new notes gradually and includes some music theory. Two CDs play performance and backing tracks.
