No this book isn't fantabulous. Its premise is somewhere between a soap opera and a hallmark movie.
Its cheesy at its finest.
The plot is unbelievable, at best
The characters are kind of lackluster.
3 sisters abandoned by their parents when the oldest is in her teens and she becomes the mother figure and an overly protective one.
She fell in love with a married man a few years back who she then finds out took his daughter from her mother and then left her in the care of the nanny....
Is your jaw on the floor yet?
He's back and demanding she work with him or he will ruin her.
It will get better, ok probably not but the plot will get more kooky and that's really why I have to fling all the flowers/stars at this story.
It pulled me out of a reading slump.
There are so many goofy twists and turns...and not enough info about how Bella got to be a model/designer and I'm so confused by how the sister act, especially as one is married with a baby on the way.
So much drama too. Again, think the worst soap opera you ever watched? This book could be part of that.
Its so bad its kind of good.
I didn't love any of the characters, but I kept on reading, because I needed to see what other ridiculousness might happen.
So no it doesn't deserve the high rating as far as content goes, but it made be want to read again, so maybe it does.
This book started off stupid!! Like the premise... these women, sigh why do they write them to be soo stupid!!!
Even after her sisters offered to help she refused and seeing as her sister married a 'millionaire' in the previous book, it was hard to swallow! Like it just wasn't the route to take for the story, I know harlequin isn't steeped in reality but this isn't Presents I expected more.. Was so disappointed.
Such a stupid reason, was just not pleased!! Like the PREMISE was so STUPID!
27% into the book i had deduced the whole plot, which doesn't seem like much for Harlequin but they have been known to throw a plot twist or two but this one was just so BAIT!
I feel like I rolled my eyes throughout... there was so much repetition, the book was honestly tedious and I am not one to be scathing towards a writer, what they do is hard work but Jennie Adams can and has done better..
It was like watching a bad soap honestly!! I probably should have felt sorry for her but I just didn't and then her judginess just irked more. He was like a typical presents H so I wasn't as surprised sha!
Maybe I have no room for the insecure but honestly so much drama!
'Unconditional, unlimited love. That was what Luc wanted and she wanted him to have it, but it wouldn’t come from her. She couldn’t give that because she was broken inside.' After reading this I stopped reading for a few days I was just so disgusted by her! I LITERALLY FELT NO PITY FOR HER!!!
It ended ok I guess but it should have been a presents book, cos it was such high drama!
I originally bought this book because my friend modeled as the little girl on the cover when she was a kid. Her parents never let her read it so I bought it half as a joke and told her I'd read it. I usually don't go for romance novels but I decided to read it anyway. I have only read about a chapter and a half and this is quite possibly the worst dribble I have ever had the displeasure of reading. The writing is mediocre at best and at worst it sounds like a poorly written fan-fiction. The imagery and figurative language is weak and sappy, the characters are two-dimensional, and the plot seems like another run of the mill cheesy romance story. This book is only fun to read sarcastically. I would not recommend this reading this book unless several layers of irony are involved.
“From the fitted shirt to the dress trousers and leather belt that encased slim hips and long legs, Luchino Montichelli shouted wealth, power and sensuality.”
“What did he see aside from pale, smooth skin, eyes a lighter shade of brown than his, and bone structure that Bella frankly thought too strong and angular to be truly appealing? Why should she care what he thought, anyway?”
My first sort of let down by this author. This is the story of Soph's (from The Boss' Unconventional Assistant) sister Bella. I loved Soph and so expected to love Bella, but I just found her to be utterly annoying and self-righteous. I know she had issues from her childhood, but she gave Luc no credit for the good he'd done.
These two had a lot to overcome, including a very murky past relationship, and it certainly took them a long time to do it. I adored Luc and his little girl, Grace, and just wanted to smack Bella the majority of the time. She came round in the end, so I suppose that's all that matters.
I still love Jennie Adams, though, and will continue to read her books!
