The Stokes guides are wonderful for detail on common species. Tyning does a great job making it easy to remember what your most likely candidates are when you find an individual. But I enjoyed this one so much I read it cover to cover.

Tom Tyning is awesome. I'm excited to pull this one off my bookshelf once again in anticipation of salamander season!
