I was given an ARC from Michelle, in exchange for an honest review.

Picking up this book, I was filled with excitment & dread... I was excited because I couldn't wait to read more of Evie's story, but dreaded it becuase I knew after the ending of 'Through the Fire' Evie had so much to learn about herself & I wasn't sure in what direction her journey would go.

I would stongly advise you to read 'Through the Fire' book 1 of the "Daughter of Fire" series first, then jump into 'Besieged by Rain' book 1 of the "Son of Rain" series, before you pick up 'Rise from Ash'... As both series are a compainion to one another & make alot more sense when read together, your understanding widens when they are both read. 'Rise from Ash' starts directly after 'Through the Fire' finishes, so definitely read book 1 first.

So I'm only about half way through the book, 54% to be precise & I don't want to continue, even though Evie doesn't feel completely safe in the place she is... she feels complete. They should be moving on, being hunted, unsure who is after you... is stressful......

Okay... so yes I did continue reading to the finish of this book.... damn the suspenseful, action packed, nail biting Michelle put me through (I hate biting my nails). I loved the personal growth made by Evie in this book, coming to terms of being alone & learning of her powers, but always on the run from the Rain & maybe something else?? I loved learning about some new creatures mentioned too, Evie has a couple of run ins, with the reason the Rain were created. I am in awe at the finish of this book... I just wish I had the next book of the series already, I'm in love with this series.

I can't wait for more of Evie in the "Daughter of Fire" series & more of Clay in the "Son of Rain" series.

Michelle weaves pure magic again!
I loved THROUGH THE FIRE book one of DAUGHTER OF FIRE and BESIEGED BY RAIN book 1 of SON OF RAIN and i suggest you read these two first as each series are companions for the other...plus they are both brilliant.

So RISE FROM ASH starts right after through the fire and OMG talk about action and suspense!! i was meant to keep this for the insomniac nights but once i started i couldn't stop..... it was just another page then just another page and before i knew it i forgot all about the world around me as i joined Evie on her Journey of growth and coming to terms with herself and her powers. All the while on the run and meeting and having run ins with other creatures I cannot wait for the next books in both series to come out as i feel i am addicted to Evie and Clay. Michelle truly weaves pure magic that will draw you in and you will not be able to put RISE FROM ASH down till the very end and will be left waiting with excitement for the next installments

Wow loved the beginning, Wow loved the middle and oh that ending. Once again Michelle has weaved a magical story of love and angst of the story that is Evie & Clay. This is a paranormal story set in the real world and is the continuation of "Through the Fire (Daughter of Fire)".

Rise from Ash by Michelle Irwin

Wow I couldn't wait to read this after Through the Fire ended I just couldn't wait.

You definitely need to read Through the Fire before you start Rise from Ash.

Evie bless her learns so much about herself in this book but she suffers so much to. Made me want to rescue her myself. Rise from Ash starts off where Through the Fire finished. All through the book I kept thinking Evie has to survive Clay can't get near her ever. The more I read though the more I could see my own thinking was a big mistake.

There are so many nail bitting moments, the tension rolls through this story it's so action packed and the suspense keeps you wanting more.
The ending well Michelle knows what I thought about it, I'm not saying as it just spoils it.

I'm looking forward to what Michelle has next.

I must admit, this book is dark. The story follows on-the-run Evie through the stark reality of deprivation, despair and the knowledge that she can never stop running because those who hunt her are only one step behind her...and sometimes even closer. Every step of the way, you're willing her to keep going, to not give up....all the while wondering when her luck will change because Evie doesn't deserve all the bad luck that's come her way. After all, it's not her fault she is what she is - she was born that way. And it seems like everyone she loves has to pay for it.

A gritty journey through despair, leading to hope for a future that could turn out even darker still...but I won't know until the next book comes out, which I'm dying to read.

This is book 2 in the 'Daughter of Fire' Series

Rise from Ash starts off where Through the Fire ends (if you haven't read TTF you need to read this first).

After fleeing the Hospital, a devastated Evie is on the run from the Rain.

Living a half life and pining for the man hunting her, Evie faces a tough decision when she receives a cryptic message from Clay; should she risk her life for love or run in the opposite direction?

OMFG! What a roller coaster of a book, I was yet again feeling every emotion that Evie felt, from hopelessness to Euphoria and everything in between!

I was totally enthralled and unable to put my kindle down... The creatures were described so vividly that I felt like I was inside the book alongside Evie

Michelle has yet again delivered a book filled with tension, raw emotion, love and sacrifice.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

All I can say is: another amazing book!!
*minor spoiler alert*
We catch back up with Evie where the first book (Through the Fire) left off. Evie is alone, injured & heartbroken. Will she be able to stay hidden from the Rein, will she be able to survive without Clay?
When Clay does enter back into her life we learn there's a lot more going on than she thought, and that their lives might actually have a 'happily ever after' in the distant future...
This book was a page turner-I read it in one day, I couldn't put it down! I can not wait for the rest of their story!!

* gifted by the publisher for an honest review *

I have read and loved the first book Through the Fire by Michelle Irwinshe has written this series with a different twist with the Supernaturally Born Evie who is a Phoenix, who has been on the run nearly all her life from the relentless 'Rain' Hunters who are like some fanatic secret society who want to exterminate anything supernatural. and how she falls for a boy from her past who is unfortunately the son of 'Rain Royalty'. He's been brought up from birth to believe all Supernatural beings are evil and is a trained killer.

So Book 1's review can be found by Clicking here

We then got to read Clay's POV in Besieged by Rain and although I do not like books that tell the same story by an alternate POV, this book does give something to the overall series plot line and you can read more of my review by Clicking here

So in Rise from Ash - we are brought forward to the future when Evie is alone again, running and barely surviving... Now I do not want to tell you the story line so basically all I am going to say is that its a hard road Evie is walking, and it shows in the writing.

Will Evie ever find sanctuary? What has happened to Clay? Who is killing people and blaming Evie - is it 'The Rain' or is it something more sinister?

You are kept guessing quite a bit, I am glad that this story does end on a brighter note than how it begins, but we are left waiting to hear what happens next at the end of this book, when that will be, I don't know, but I will be keeping an eye on Ms Irwin so I find out!

If you like Paranormal Romances with a bit of a different twist, then you want to check this series out.

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

RISE FROM ASH starts up from where THROUGH THE FIRE finished, with Evie escaping the hospital believing that Clay hates and blames her for the death of his twin sister. There are gaps in time, years actually, from when Evie escapes the hospital until she meets up with Clay again. Not much happened to Evie during those years other than being hunted by the Rain. Clay’s story during that time will be much more interesting I think. He spent the years apart researching her heritage and trying to figure out how her abilities can protect her while on she’s the run. When they finally get together again, it’s not long before the Rain comes knocking and Clay is forced to deal with his family once again. There’s a new supernatural element plaguing Evie and I suspect a certain someone connected to the Rain is behind it.

I feel sorry for Clay, having to turn his back on his lying and betraying family just because they refuse to listen to reason and continue to hunt Evie. They are so blind to the facts that surround them that they can’t even see their own actions for what they are. And Evie has gone through so much hardship, you just want her to have her HEA already. Because if anyone deserves one, it’s her. What sucks is that RISE FROM ASH is only book 2 of 4, so you just know that both Evie and Clay are going to go through so much more before the series reaches its hopefully happy conclusion. It’s just not fair damn it.

I am loving the Daughter Of Fire series from Michelle Irwin and I can’t wait to see how Clay and Evie’s story ends. You’ll definitely need to read THROUGH THE FIRE (Daughter Of Fire # 1) first, and I’d recommend following that up with BESIEGED BY RAIN (Son Of Rain # 1) as well, which is a companion to THROUGH THE FIRE and told in Clay’s POV. This is one of those series that before I start reading, I have to make sure everything else is done, because once I start reading it, I’m not going to want to put it down for anything.

***** 5 Cranky Stars *****

This is the second book in the Daughter of Fire series. The romantic theme of star crossed lovers shines in this book too. Book one introduced the characters and set the mindset and book two picked up at the moment left off in book one.

Evie, a young girl on her own has to deal with the guilt she felt in the wake of death that seems to follow her and the real threat of a group of killers, The Rain, bent on her demise. She is in love with Clay, but he now wants her dead too.

She is a strong female character, who is very clever. Clay is a well trained member of the Rain which his family has been a part of for generations. The Rain sees non humans as beasts to be killed so the earth would be safe for humans. How did she every think she could live a fairytale, happily ever after life?

I am smitten with these characters and this action packed plot. The discrimination and the ideology of the Rain toward any paranormal being without knowing their intention makes for a compelling story sadly poignant to the current events and past evils. The story is in first person through Evie's point of view, but the author weaves the story so well that even the bad guys have a mindset that makes for many well rounded characters. True to life, all the characters are part "monster". The reader is given a few more pieces of Clay and Evie's mysterious lives, but like any good series there are something's yet to be explained.

I was given this book in turn for an honest review!!!

As Evie runs from the man she loves; she begins to believe she truly is a monster. When Clay leaves a mysterious address Evie begins to question if the running is worth it? Alone, afraid and desperate to have the life she longs; can she survive alone? Will she give in to temptation and see Clay one more time? Will it be their last time?

Michelle Irwin sends you on another whirlwind adventure with Rise from Ash. She had me hooked from the very start; my heart was in turmoil with heartache, pain and wanting to jump into my kindle to give Evie a huge hug! This girl had lived through more than many of us could imagine and here she was again, alone, tired, afraid and desperate for the love of her life to be by her side. Rise from Ash is full of action, suspense, twists, surprises and revelations. Each page turn had my heart racing with what will happen next; I truly felt like I was living each and every moment right along with them. I gained much more love and respect for Clay in this book; he wasn’t afraid to fight for what he believed and loved. We also see just how dark the Rain can be and the lengths some of them are willing to go to in order to get what they want. Without a doubt Michelle Irwin has blown me away with her Daughter of Fire series and I can’t wait to read more from Evie and Clay; their story is far from over.

If you love paranormal romances with action, suspense and twists without a doubt you will love the Daughter of Fire series from Michelle Irwin. I recommended reading Through the Fire book #1 before you read Rise from Ash book #2.

My Review
--Stands up and applauses loudlyyyy--
Firstly i'd just like to say a massive thank you to Michelle! This lady has a way of wielding words and taking me on a vacation to a world where the Rain hunt and the Phoenix rises!
If you haven't read 'Through The Fire' then you've missed out on the book that began my love affair with Evie Meyers! She's a sassy, sexy and extremely heartbroken young woman. Love has done nothing but kick her in the teeth and yet, when it comes to Clay...it's worth it.
She'd risk her life just to understand the man in question so when she gets a message from him, she knows that she has to risk it all. He's her biggest weakness and she is his....can the two star crossed lovers finally reach an understanding? You'll have to read the book to find out!
There's something about this series that makes me want to crawl into Ms Irwin's brain and flick her writing switch continuously until she promises me a happy forever ending!
Michelle has, yet again, teased me into submission! Like a fine concerto she has me spellbound to the point where i'm sitting here struggling to find the desire to physically move incase it breaks the perfectly formed literary bubble that Ms Irwin has created! Not a single word was wasted, nor comma over used. ''The Daughter of Fire'' series is an utter triumph and i, for one, cannot wait for the next instalment!

I’ve read several books written by Michelle Irwin including the first book in this series, Through the Fire, and the first book in the Son of Rain series, Besieged by Rain and I’ve enjoyed them all. They were very hard to put down. However, I didn’t think Rise from Ash was as compelling to read as the earlier books.
Rise from Ash starts with Evie Meyers on the run because she believes the love of her life, Clay Jacobs, hates her and wants to kill her because of what she has done. This is very understandable if you have read the previous books, but what I didn’t understand is why the author spent almost 50% of Rise from Ash relating Ash’s experiences while she was on the run. This made reading the book very difficult because the story was moving at a slow pace and was very repetitive. I put it down several times. I wanted something to happen. Fortunately, it did.
I don’t want to give away important plots details, but Evie meets someone and, at this point, the story changes. It becomes more dramatic and I became more involved in what was happening. Now, I couldn’t put it down because I had to know what was going to happen next.
I gave Rise from Ash 3 and a half stars.

I couldn't wait for this book after reading Through the Fire and now I can't wait for the next one! It's hard to put down once you start, there's so much action. Poor, sweet Evie continues to go through so much. And it seems that her and clay will forever have bad timing, or just bad communication. I was happy to read that ending and I am very curious about her new Shadow. And I assume because of it I have to say..Hightops. 3

This is the second book in the series and you do need to read the first one in order to understand what’s going on. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
Evie’s on the run, she’s alone and scared. There are reports out that she killed and is wanted by the police for crimes she hasn’t committed. She’s been tortured and now thinking that even Clay doesn’t want her, she does what she can to survive. As she travels, she has some really close calls with members of the Rain. Outwitting them is now a full time thing and I’m not sure she is capable.
You really get involved with this story. I read it all in one sitting. There were tears falling down my face and I didn’t want to put the book down. I couldn’t. The storytelling wouldn’t let me. I am a huge fan of paranormal books and have read hundreds upon hundreds of them, but I haven’t read a series like this before.
Great job Ms. Irwin, just know you now have a stalker for life…

This series is awesome. The characters are very well rounded. The main character is a very strong girl, who experiences discrimination to the extreme from a family of monster hunters. the consider everyone a monster who is not like them. The novel shows how far hate can reach and how much love can save. Evie is one of those characters that you can't help but want to route for. Clay is the man she loves but he is a member to the family that hates. It makes for some very turbulent moments to say the least. I love how real this fantasy book really feels. It is a tribute to the author who seems to have a talent for making everything fit together seamlessly and for making the reader experience the world through the eyes of this misunderstood and determined young girl.
I highly recommend this series to anyone with an adventurous heart and a love for strong female characters. I will continue to read this author's Daughter of Fire series and the spin-off Son of Rain Series (written from Clay's point of view).

In this second book, Evie is still on the run and her dreams are haunted by Clay. The fear, hurt and love she feels makes her think she is going crazy but the sunbird reminds her that she is perfectly sane. She is running from her life and the Rain. This book is infused with caring visits to her dads grave to running from Ethan and eventually showing him that she isn't a threat. A shocking twist is revealed and the Wendigo is killed.

Ethan helps both Evie and Clay escape to Paris but they are met with more tragedy.

The eventually find a cottage in desperate need of repair and decide to make it their home.

Clay begins his teaching of self defense with Evie.

Will Evie ever find peace or will she always be on the run??
