A pretty good overview of MI. But don't expect to master the technique from this book. There just isn't enough detail here. Nevertheless, this would be an excellent book to use in an introductory social work methods class.
Great introduction to this practice. Very helpful to have case dialogues and the techniques framed. I should have read the mother book of MI first but hopefully I can stream some of the contents on my next read.
I love the definitions and examples the author gave for different theories and approaches. It helped me learn more about other lenses and how they complement MI. This was a great theory intro book for clinicians. I think every therapist/intern should read this to help improve clinical skills. This was a bit boring and hard to get through but it was educational.
