Very fun rom-com! Twist on the coach's daughter trope we see so often in hockey romances. Looking forward to more in this series!

I genuinely don’t understand the high ratings for this one. It was so boring. There was no tension, no real conflict, and barely a story to keep me invested.
The MMC was basically a giant walking green flag, which sounds great in theory, but he had so little edge or conflict that he was boring. And the FMC? I couldn’t tell you a single memorable thing about her because there was nothing particularly interesting or special about her character. I also still don’t understand what a mental performance coach is actually supposed to do because that whole aspect felt completely underdeveloped.
I guess if you’re looking for a book that is very “lets talk about our feelings” this might work for you, but FFS, I could only take so much. I was bored out of my mind and honestly should have DNF’d this one.

Look, I read the entire the book and I'm still not sure what a mental performance coach does but I'm not really sure I care. Also, are we all this ok with nepotism? I guess? The MMC was just a bundle of green flags and I adored every inch of him. The MFC was a mental heath professional who needed some serious help herself, but who doesn't. Between the new dad, the raging sexism and a bunch of men who act like children and somehow she was supposed to be in charge of???? I'm giving the poor girl a pass. I will, however, say that I was very annoyed that in the end the MMC is the one who ended up resolving all of her problems. I'm glad he was standing up for her but the book would have had a much bigger impact if she had been the one to save herself.

It was a good book. Don’t let my three star rating scare you away. But I just don’t think I’m a hockey romance girlie. Could be wrong, as I haven’t read many, it just didn’t feel as exciting as I was hoping for. The ending was good, it was the middle that just felt blah. But that’s just a me problem, I think.

LOVED KNOX & AVA’s STORY
Read the Prequel to the Atlanta Gliders series and was hooked. The Good Girl Trap was even better. Great Character chemistry for Knox and Ava and supporting characters as well. A different storyline with steam. Definitely recommend

I have to say I love this book. Touched on a lot of timely topics such as mental health and young women who learn to assert themselves, as a woman should. All of these things do not distractfrom the story itself, hockey, second chances and love of all kinds.
