This is the first in a new series, a delightful small town romance with quirky characters and a story that had me laughing and crying from page one.

Annie is a hometown girl that once had dreams of becoming a photographer, she even won a prestigious scholarship in New York but when her father got sick she was overwhelmed and came home to help her mother and brother run the family Inn.

Nick Conrad grew up in Truhart but now lives in Atlanta pursuing a distinguished career as an architect. He was Annie’s crush while she was growing up, yet nothing ever happened between them, he was her brother’s best friend and she was just the little sister who he nicknamed Bump because of her clumsy ways.

Her sister Charlotte is getting married in Atlanta in a few weeks and Annie, her mom and aunt travel down for the bridal shower. When she sees Nick for the first time she feels like the same clumsy girl she once was, he even calls her Bump. But things get complicated, Annie feels Charlotte’s new family looks down on them, she has a bit of a breakdown that Nick witnesses and then to make matters worse, the wedding is moved to Truhart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The author adds humor and intense feelings throughout to create a heartwarming, funny story. There are pitfalls and crazy circumstances the families have to go through but are able to create a wonderful wedding for Charlotte and Henry.

Annie is extremely likeable, even when she is distracted. She is kind and wants to help her sister but she is constantly worrying about what others think, believing Henry’s family is looking down on her family. Although at times it seems to be true, but things have a way of working out as they all experience one disaster after another and begin to bond.

Nick is adorable, a funny and very sexy hero that steals the hearts of readers. He left home to find his dream and rarely comes home to visit, which ticks Annie off, but there are issues he must deal with in order to find his way back. The two are cute together as their friendship picks up where it left off and starts to develop into much more, there are some underlying issues that has them picking at each other until their undeniable chemistry takes over and the sparks fly.

The premises is fun, it is about a wedding that has as many disasters as you could imagine. These two very different families come together to stay in a small town that has a hard time accommodating them, and with a blizzard coming, the result is interesting. The pace works well and I read it quickly, enjoying several secondary characters, her mom and aunt are hilarious as they try to create this beautiful impromptu wedding for Charlotte, Ian who is the brother is also very funny and I would like to see him in a future book, a laid back, sexy musician who loves to torment his sisters. Charlotte is also likeable, a bit on the bridezilla side for most of the book. I even liked some of Henry’s family toward the end. A very enjoyable book that is the first in a series and I will definitely be picking up the next to see what happens with this fun family.

A very cute novel that make me laugh and made me cozy inside. I absolutely adored Aunt Addie and all her antics.

Annie and Nick are from the same home town but each went their separate ways after high school. Annie is all about her close knit family and doesn't understand why Nick doesn't feel the same way.

Reading this book I wanted to be in the middle of all the squabbles that happened. I wanted to understand what made Nick tick. He was a character that was hard to understand but made you wonder. He made you see life in a different way. He made the story so much more enjoyable.

Annie at times was a tad annoying and I don't know if I would want to be around her. I understood where her emotions came from but I don't get why she acted the way she did in certain situations. I know she was coming from a good place and wanted everyone to be happy but at times she made things harder on everyone.

But at the same time I rooted for Annie. I wanted nothing but for her to be happy. For her to get the life she wanted. For her to be the artist she felt she could be.

The author did an a great job in creating a town that has heart and character. A town that I would totally back up my bags and move to. Everyone is full of love and joy. I cannot wait to read the next books in the series.

I can't believe this book is the debut book from Cynthia! She has done an amazing job giving us characters that drag us into the story too. I fell for this story right away. There are quite a few spoilers but they just build until you get to the end. This is a crazy story with crazy families. Annie is always helping others. She comes across her first and only love, Nick, when she is in Atlanta for her sister's Bridal Shower. She is from Upper Michigan and there is competition there. Atlanta floods out. Yep, everyone comes to Michigan. Oh, watch out for the Golf Tournament! There are two Major Spoilers! I really liked this book. It flowed nicely even through the spoilers. Keep tissues close at hand! I hope you will give this book a chance. You won't regret it! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

A Wedding in Truhart was a good read.

I enjoyed the characters and storyline.
There was a lot going on which took me a little time to get into but once I got to know the characters my interest was held and I was happy to have read it.

Overall this was an enjoyable contemporary romance and a nice start to the Truhart series https://www.goodreads.com/series/1608...

This is a solid three stars. It's a competent romance novel. There's sibling issues, there's economic status-related conflict, there's small town v. big city that actually isn't black and white. I think the childhood crush aspect is overplayed as a romantic shorthand, in lieu of actual romantic development within the novel. I mean, it's really generally competent. It is.

Except that three quarters of the way, I was eye-rolling it, thanks to a severe case of: "And now, my dear Jane, what have you got to say in behalf of the interested people who have probably been concerned in the business? -- Do clear them too, or we shall be obliged to think ill of somebody."

Dear romance novels, I am apparently a horrible person, and am not willing to write off fairly atrocious behaviour for a large chunk of a novel after a line or two of backstory.

That's probably my cue to stop reading romance novels for a while. Alas, I'm not entirely optimistic at this time.

Wedding in Truhart is not the kind of book on which I usually throw myself in, but I like to read time to other something more lighter and resting, of which I know I will laugh. With this contemporary romance which proceeds in a small town of the USA, with its stereotypes and its marriage of madness, I knew that I would be served with the insane laughter side and mild nutters bounces.

Annie is a simple young woman, art's professor without job, impassioned of photography and which helps in the family inn. All of this are the more typical things for this kind of romance, attaching with her mistakes and her desire to do well, but tiring with her way of being caught in stupidities and jumping on the conclusions. Nothing innovative, but we cheer for her, we want her to realize herdreams, is okay with the organization of the marriage and finally jumps the step with Nick.

The supporting characters are really different and varied, more or less bringing something to the story, but of course, some are much more important than others. Nick is the principal example since he is Annie's great love, the one which help her and which starts most of the misunderstandings because of his secrets and his difficulty to open. The kind of male alpha with some crack for who we can only melt.

Of course, there are the grooms, principal interested party of the reception! Charlotte, Annie's sister, transforms herself in a bitch and Bridezilla with the wire of the pages. We want to slap her more than once, which is not the case of her tender and dear Henry, who isquite simply perfect. The other Annie's family members brings a large key of madness to the story, with her courageous mother but too much laxist, her eccentric aunt or her big brother star of the music in becoming, which I think that we will see again thereafter with a famous woman with a D-cup that was completely badly estimated.

Because yes, certain characters are completely underestimated, devalued, fantasized because of Annie's a priori. Misunderstandings, miscommunications, assumptions, all of that is present with abundance and she is the person in charge of the majority of the problems which she encounters. What thinks the others, the image they give, all that is approached, as well with Annie as with her sister. But it is not the main thing of course, we cannot pass beside the fantastic marriage of the year which will have been epic to the Bridesmaid. What is also the case of her relation with Nick who is not calm at all.

Although it's foreseeable, the story is pleasant to follow thanks to the humour that is very present and some hots or emotional scenes, which can only charm the readers. The writing is simple, fluid and varied according to the characters. The action's level is only entitled with the disappearance of the wedding dress to the madnesses of aunt Addie, without forgetting the snowstorm And as always in this kind of book, there are certain characters whom we would have wished to see more and I hope sincerely that they'll be thereafter re-examined.

Annie has to plan a wedding suitable for her TV-news-star sister and all the Atlanta society folk traveling to humble Truhart, Michigan for the festivities. This novel is all about appearances and what really matters. The love story between Annie and her old crush, Nick, is the main part of the novel. 2 unnecessarily-graphic sex scenes.

Wow, what a totally awesome book from author Cynthia Tennent! A Wedding in Truhart grabs you right from the beginning and the heart-stirring roller coaster never lets up. The two primary characters, Annie Adler (or "bump" to her close friends), and Nick Conrad, have undeniable chemistry and their journey is replete with desire, loathing and love. Ms. Tennent is an excellent storyteller and her words kept me glued to my seat from the very first chapter.

Annie lives with her mom at the Ambler Inn in the small town of Truhart Michigan. Truhart is known for tons of snow, very cold winters and a slightly hickish population. Up until recently, Annie taught art at the local public school, while helping her mom run their business. Unbeknownst to Annie, her younger sister Charlotte, and her older brother Ian, the inn is in foreclosure.

Annie is an honest and kind soul who has sacrificed her dream of being a professional photographer in order to help her widowed mother. Nick, Ian's best friend and Annie's childhood hero, left Truhart years ago to pursue architecture and is quite successful with a firm in Atlanta. Atlanta is also where Charlotte lives, working her way up the entertainment ladder on The Morning Show. Charlotte's resplendent and high society wedding is only months away when the venue is moved to Truhart, due to the flooding that overtook and permanently ravished the Atlanta area. A wedding in Truhart on New Year's Eve is a huge risk, both socially and physically, unless everyone bands together to make it work.

I truly liked this story, however I would have enjoyed it even more with a little more romance and steam between Annie and Nick. This book is filled with raw emotions from many of the characters, and it is an amazing combination of interesting plot, well-defined personalities and family love. I immediately connected with Annie and Nick and there was never a moment that I did not want them to be together. The secondary characters are unique in their own right and add a ton of background story to the present happenings. I especially liked Aunt Addie, with all her eccentrics and macaroni reindeer. Overall, this is a terrific read and I can't wait for the second book in this brand new series.

A Wedding in Truhart by Cynthia Tennent is the first book in her Truhart series. This is a sweet romance that surrounds two families that are very different. One family is high society in Georgia, and the other is somewhat eccentric from a small mid western town in Michigan.

The premise of the story is a wedding between the bride from the small town and the groom from a wealthy high society family. Annie is our heroine, and we meet her when she and her mom, and aunt attend her sister’s engagement party. Annie’s sister, Charlotte moved to Atlanta and is now a rising news reporter for the Morning Show. Annie almost immediately senses her sister’s concern over their down to earth, loud and eccentric family dealing with the snobbish and rich Lowell family. Annie becomes defensive, especially when she sees Nick, our hero, who was her childhood crush and who is now part of the Georgia elite. Much of the early story, though at times funny, especially her aunt, but other times a bit embarrassing. Because Annie began to feel out of place, seeing her sister’s concern, and then she finds herself picking on Nick, which was annoying.

With a major storm causing havoc in Atlanta, the wedding plans are forced to move it to Truhart, and the inn they own, which is possibly on its last days. What follows is a nice and funny story of how everyone in Truhart work together to make this wedding surpass the expectations of the Lowells. What could go wrong does go wrong, as we did expect the unexpected.

I loved Annie’s devotion to her family, but also thought she was way too off the wall with her constantly getting mad or being mean to Nick. It did change, but she had begun to rub me the wrong way, despite the snobbish future family her sister was marrying into. I loved Nick, as I thought he was the best character, and his patience and forgiving attitude with Annie was great.

The Aunt was hysterical, though I have to admit I would have been embarrassed at times, too. Lol Charlotte’s intended, Henry was also a great guy, and though very rich, he was down to earth and quickly accepted Charlotte’s family. It was a fun ending, though I thought it ended a bit abruptly. A Wedding in Truhart was a different, but nice sweet romance.

I have gushed about loving the Pacific Northwest so you might be surprised at my choice of this book. Truhart, Michigan? That is in the Midwest. Well . . . confession time. I was born and raised in small town Michigan – population 2126 in the 2010 census. So the blurb for this book kind of grabbed me. I identified with it. I wanted to see how this author portrayed small town Michigan.

I have to say, she nailed it. Not only did I see myself, my family and some neighbors in this story, she did such a good job of writing it that I couldn’t put the book down. I loved it.

I have also mentioned I do enjoy the small town trope. Everyone knows everyone else. So true. But when I could actually recognize a fictitious town with its fictitious characters, I was enthralled.

The characters were well written. In spite of everyone being in everyone’s business, some secrets were kept. It made for some interesting conflict and drama. And believe me, there is drama in small town, Michigan.

Truhart is a charming little town with fascinating characters, the emphasis on “characters.” I think we all have an Aunt Addie. She was adorable, if rather quirky. Then there is the guy we loved in high school that didn’t know we were alive. *sigh* The epic arguments with the siblings – OMG! The town drunk. The town gossip(s). They all make up small town, anywhere. But the unpredictable weather. Is it going to snow or not? White Christmas or not? Yep! I remember that. The “light dusting” that ends up being three feet. Only in the North.

So, for you fans of contemporary romance with the small town trope, you need to read this book. It is fun. It is entertaining. It is a “can’t put it down” read. For a first book it was fantastic. I notice there is another coming book out next year. I already have it on my “want to read” list with nothing but the title – Skinny Dipping Season. Now that is a title to grab you! I think I have found a new author to stalk follow!

I received an ARC copy of this title for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated in any way for this review. All conclusions are my own opinions and responsibility.

Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Lyrical Shine Publishing for my copy.

I started reading wondering if I really would like all the characters. There were very quirky especially Aunt Addie and Annie who keeps divorcing with Nick when she didn't even had any relationship with him yet. She was hung over on him for entire part one. Only character I really enjoyed was Charlotte's fiance Henry. He was only character I really liked.
Story started with Charlotte having an engagement party in Atlanta. Charlotte left Truhart and became a morning show Correspondent. Henry was sweet from the beginning. He really understood her family and so patient with everyone. Charlotte seems changed in Annie's eyes. Charlotte's Mother in law and her friends were so rude and so typical snobs.
Annie always had thing for Nick but some reason they couldn't get along with each other in Atlanta. She constantly nagged him for not coming to Truhart to visit his mother and taking a job in Atlanta. She thinks he has changed his ways but both had a big misunderstanding.
Everything was going okay but everything was falling apart as Charlotte's wedding is relocated due to weather to Truhart. Everything is going wrong according to Annie. Annie's family hotel while it is in major renovation to save it.
Part 2 was so much better than part 1 for me.. Part two was all about Charlotte's wedding and everything was going wrong from the beginning. Annie is doing best to get ready for her sister's wedding but things were going wrong from the beginning.
I couldn't understand Why Annie was so hungover on Nick and why it took so long for them to finally find each other.. Annie was sacrificing everything for her sister but not enough appreciation from her sister nor her family.. Will Nick and Annie finally find their happy ending and Charlotte will have her wedding of her dream?
But i did enjoy reading towards the end. There were some moments it was funny and heartwarming.

A Wedding in Truhart is the series starter in Truhart and is the debut novel of author Cynthia Tennent and a book that I absolutely adored. This was a story about Annie Adler and how she saw the world around her, especially when it came to her sister's upcoming wedding and how her longtime crush Nick Conrad was living his life, and how she came to a new set of realizations when she learned to look at things differently. There were definitely moments that I found myself wanting to wring Annie's neck for how she treated Nick because she seriously thought that whatever her opinion was was the right one, making me think of her as someone who needed to get off her high horse. But the beautiful thing about the story is how Annie transforms and then embraces her reality instead of trying to change everyone and everything.

This was ultimately a story about living the best life possible on your own terms and not those set by others. It's also about family and how, at the end of the day, family will always be there for you, regardless of the distance between you or how much time has passed. There's also a sense of community that I always look for in books set in small towns but I did appreciate that the comparison between Truhart, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia was not always disparaging and that every place has its good and bad points. This is the first in a new contemporary romance series and I find myself already looking forward to what Cynthia Tennent has up next for this small town with lots of heart. For a first-time author, she's shown that she's capable of weaving a well-crafted story with interesting characters. A Wedding in Truhart gets five stars. ♥

One wedding, that will put the family loyalty to a test, that will change their lives forever, and events that will put the whole wedding into a danger of never happening.
What I really enjoyed in this story was how with everything happening around them, every detail that could go wrong doing so, several times over, the bride and groom never lost the sight of each other, questioning their love for each other. At least so I assume, the story is told from Annie's point of view, in the first tense, leaving a bit narrowly look into the story.
The characters are all eccentric, or stereotypical to extreme. It makes the story great fun and entertaining reading. There were the little town odd older women, the rich, obnoxious snobs, the bride who was trying to please her future mother-in-law, and the relatives who embarrassed the bride as often as possible.
I thought the story could have moved on a bit faster, the first half of the book almost lost me. But when the events move into Truhart, things move at a faster pace as well.
The romance between Annie and Nick wasn't on the center stage, even though it was in Annie's thoughts constantly. The family struggles with the financial situation, trying to plan the wedding on a short notice, and fixing everything that goes wrong, clearly takes the attention.
The story is good, it has some fun moments in it. The characters could have been more complex, and more developed. I felt at times too much was trying to put into the novel at once. The ending was sweet, and even the most difficult and overwhelming personalities seemed to find the joy of the wedding, love, and future possibilities towards the end.
Interesting start for a new series, with lots of intriguing characters to focus on, and a wedding no one will forget anytime soon

A Wedding in Truhart by Cynthia Tennent is the first book that I have read by this author. It was an enjoyable book to read but I felt that there could have been more to the story.
Annie Adler came home from studying in New York City to help her mom and brother run the family inn in Truhart, MI. Annie is strong but is definitely "a fixer". She feels like everything is her responsibility to take care of in order to help her mother. Then their is Nick Conrad who was her brother's best friend while growing up in Truhart. Nick is smart and good looking and enjoys living in the city. He has his reasons for never visiting Truhart. He has moved to Atlanta and works for a huge architecture firm. Annie had a crush on Nick the whole time she was growing up but it always seemed that she said or did something "dumb" whenever she was around him.
The story starts as Annie, her mom and her aunt have arrived in Atlanta to help the youngest sibling, Charlotte, celebrate Charlotte's engagement. The story then moves back to Truhart and the trials and tribulations of planning and providing a wedding for her sister when the original venue in Atlanta has a catastrophe. Unfortunately, Charlotte does become a "Bridezilla" before the roof collapses - literally.
The plot moved smoothly but it seemed that I got to know only small pieces about each character in a rather haphazard manner throughout the story. I was disappointed at the end because I felt there should have been more to Annie and Nick's story. An epilogue would have been a nice touch.

I love small town romances, so this was something I really enjoyed, but I do wish the setting was more in Truhart; in the book the characters actually don't get to Truhart until about half way into the story, and it's not that I didn't like the beginning, but I just preferred the scenes in Truhart. I loved Annie; even if she was a little insecure, I still thought she was intelligent and I liked her pops of sassiness. I also liked Nick; even if he was a bit quiet, I like how he was with Annie; how he supported her. Annie and Nick are really cute together, and I liked that they've been friends since they were children. I did want there to be more scenes between the 2 of them, but this whole book is in Annie's point of view and Nick lives in a different state, so this book is more about Annie, and how she has to deal with issues with her family, and I liked Annie point of view, but I would've liked a bit more development with her and Nick. I also enjoy books that have weddings taking place because there's always some type of hijinks that go along with planning a wedding, and I find that type of thing entertaining. Annie definitely has a lot on her shoulders in this book, and she bottles up a lot of her feelings, so she has these moments where she sort of goes off the rails a bit, but I understand where she's coming from, and I was glad when she finally stands up for herself. I do plan to read more of the books in this series, and more from the author. In the end, this book was sweet, heartfelt, and kept interested the whole way through.

A Wedding in Truhart may be a little light on the romance for some - Nick and Annie really aren’t together that much and when they are things usually don’t end all that well :) - but I really enjoyed their relationship. And there is so much more going on to keep you glued to the pages.

You only get Annie’s POV, which is both good and bad. The good is that you feel like you understand her and what she’s going thru, allowing you to see why she says and does different things. Everything is revealed to you at the same time they are revealed to her so we feel a better connection to her. The bad is that you don’t get that same connection to everyone else and there is some confusion on things because she doesn’t have all of the information. I usually like to have the male and female voices in my romances because I’m intrigued by where both are coming from, but here it works. Annie goes thru moments of clarity in dealing with her family and friends so having only her voice makes that better.

And while there are a bunch of clichés at play (rich snobs, small town bumpkins, that kind of thing) it brings levity and fun to Annie’s growth. With family issues, romantic entanglements, and a touch of humor, A Wedding in Truhart is a wonderful start to a new series and I can’t wait to see where Tennent takes us from here.

This was an okay book. The romance was somewhat underdeveloped as were the characters. There was nothing horrifically wrong with the book, just tiny things like the plot being a little thin. And I quite frankly never warmed to the heroine. She was just... whiny. I get that she was having problems and that she loved her family but good god, it was all so unending.
Annie is that heroine. She's back in Truhart, MI to help her mom and brother run the family inn. They're just a down-home family, pragmatic while still eccentric. But she, her mother, and her aunt are all currently in Atlanta to celebrate her sister's engagement. Annie is delighted to learn that her high school crush is going to be the best man. And, even though she keeps saying that she's going to "divorce" him from her thoughts, she keeps jumping his bones.
Nick Conrad is happy to see Annie, even if she brings up bad memories of his hometown. And the fact that his problems with the town seem to crop up so fast and get solved the same way.
I'm guessing this is a first book for Cynthia Tennent (which Goodreads seems to uphold) and, while this book may not have tripped my trigger, I think she's just going to get better.

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It is has everything in it. A heart filled romance, crazy family antics, and a wedding no one could possibly forget!!!!! Annie our main character has been in love with Nick her older brother Ian best friend for as long as she can remember. She has been doing stupid things her who life to get him to notice her as more than "Bump" her childhood nickname. Charlotte is getting married to Henry who also happens to be a close friend of Nick who introduced the two. We have a case of small town girl marring a rich southern man. Charlotte is on the Morning show and her future mother in law and fellow star are planning her over the top wedding in Atlanta. Charlottes family isn't used to all the what is expected of them nor do they fit in. Annie is miss do it all and takes over once a flood ruins the wedding hall. Spelling disaster when they have to have the wedding at their run down family inn. I won't get into ruining that for you. I'll just say that I wished there was more to read. I wanted to have more about Annie and Nick. I highly recommend reading this and look forward to the book.
I was gifted an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

I liked it! Has characters that I like and wanted to find out more about. I was sorry to see it end but I liked the ending. Lots of charm, drama & family conflict. Had a couple of love scenes that I skipped over.

Annie is one of the main characters. She takes photos, was laid off from teaching art. Her nick name is bump.

Annie, her Aunt Addie and her mother fly into Atlanta for her younger sister Charlotte engagement party and shower. They are small town coming to the big city. They are not high society but I like them a whole lot better.

Charlotte and Henry wedding has a lot of things go wrong for them. I do like Henry.

Annie had a school girl crush on Nicholas Conrad. Nick introduced Henry to Charlotte. He has not been back to Truhart for sometime.

I love the golf game. The guys are trying to teach Annie about golf because she is just a woman.

The secondary characters make this book so funny, warm hearted and just want to come back and see them again.

Annie's family runs the small inn in Truhart, Michigan. They are struggling and it looks like it.

I will read the next book in this series.

I was given this book to read by Net Galley and Lyrical Shine, In return I agreed to give a honest review of A Wedding in Truhart.

A Wedding in Truhart by Cynthia Tennent is definitely a story that will keep you engrossed in its characters.

I really enjoyed the characters, Annie from the very beginning and eventually I came to love Nick. Nick frustrated me in the beginning, but he won me over toward the end. Annie loves with her whole heart and sacrifices everything for those she cares for, making her a great character who I can relate to.

Annie’s little sister is getting married, so she travels to Atlanta to provide her support. Only, Atlanta is not their home and the family her sister is marrying into, is rich and seems a little rude to Annie. The longer she’s in Atlanta, the more Annie realizes how much people can change. Not only her sister but Nick as well.

Nick left Truhart to make a name for himself and he’s done just that in Atlanta. When Annie comes to visit for her sister’s wedding shower, she turns his world upside down. Annie has always loved Nick and when she looks at him it shines through, but the longer she’s in Atlanta, the more she realizes he’s not the same Nick she once knew.

The relationship between Nick and Annie is a slow burn, but once they get together, it’s truly special and worth the wait.

A Wedding in Truhart was a warm family story about trying to make everything work out right. As you all know, that isn't possible, even though Annie tried her best to make her sister's wedding everything she dreamed of. When plans were forced to change, Annie poured all her money, heart, and energy into making the inn look as wonderful as possible so Charlotte won't be embarrassed by her country bumpkin relatives. Through the wedding planning from engagement dinner to the final event, Annie is distracted by her brother's best friend, Nick. She has had a crush on him since childhood, yet all he does is scowl at her. In a book about love and family there isn't much love between Nick and Annie at first. In the end everyone works together to give Charlotte her dream wedding in spite of every imaginable disaster along the way. There is even hope for Annie and the inn's future as well.
A sweet story that warms your heart and makes you wish it would never end. One of three in the series, it is a stand alone story you won't want to miss!

First and foremost I appreciated A Wedding in Truhart for showing me a true Southern how we must look to people from the North. I really needed that eye-opener. So to be perfectly honest we are not so much different, one place is just colder while the other is warmer and definitely more humid. In both we have our Aunt Addie, bless their hearts. Small Southern towns also find garage sales to be big events and still we do know most everyone’s name.

This well-written delightful story is tightly structure with an engaging Annie “Bump”, who has a take-no-prisoners attitude. She makes women proud no matter what part of the US they are from. Her sense of self, family and her unyielding stance against pretentious snobbery is refreshing. I even liked her flaws; they served to make her more real.

This is the first book by Cynthia Tennent that I remember having read. Sharp, witty humorous along with poignant, I want to read more.

A Wedding in Truhart is an interesting contemporary romance. It is light and funny and also with a lot of family drama.
It is a story about Annie and Nick. They both come from small town but when Nick grow up he went in the big city and make a life. Meanwhile Annie was stuck in place in their small family Inn. And of course Nick was Annie secret crush. Everything changes when her sister who is famous celebrity is getting married. When weather ruins first ceremony choice they decided to have a wedding in their Inn. And of course nothing happens according to the plan.
Annie was strong funny but also frustrating and stubborn. She was proud to came from small town but also ashamed. And her actions sometimes make me want to shake her and say hey what are you doing. But she was also unselfish and will do anything for her family.
Character likable and interesting.
The end was lovely and very sweet.

Annie grew up idolizing her brother's best friend, Nick, and has had a crush on him since she was a kid. When her sister asks her to be the maid of honor at her wedding, she is surprised to find out that Nick is the best man. Through their bickering and all of the wedding drama they start to have a lot of chemistry with each other.

I really ended up loving this one! Nick was such a hard character to figure out! I could never figure out what he was thinking or why he was doing certain things, but eventually it clicked. I thought he was an absolute sweetheart and the things he did to help Annie were so sweet. Sometimes I really loved Annie and other times she got on my nerves with her constant whining. I loved the secondary characters in the book too. I really hope Annie's brother gets his own book. And Grady too!

Enjoyable, delightful and filled with both humor and heartache!

This is the story of a wedding in which just about everything seems to go wrong but it is also the story of a family pulling together to achieve the goal of providing one family member with a perfect wedding. The book starts in Atlanta and ends in Truhart – two completely different places. Some problems faced related to: high society versus small communities, dreams fulfilled or left behind, communication and miscommunication. The characters were enjoyable, the dialogue fun and it was all tied up with a bow at the end.

I stayed up late last night to finish the story because I needed to find out how it all worked out for everyone in the end.

I must say I really enjoyed this read and I'll be anxiously waiting for the next books in this series.

This was such a fun read with so many events happening. It may get overwhelming for some but I was smiling and grinning like a goon. I so enjoy reading books that centers around family and in small town settings and this couldn't be anymore perfect.

I loved Nick and Annie's chemistry. The fact that they were childhood friends made the romance sweeter. As much as this was a heartwarming read and I had quite a bit of warm fuzzies, I did wish there was an epilogue. I felt Nick and Annie should have more to their story. This is my first book by Cynthia Tennent and you bet this won't be my last.

Great Book!
This is a great book; this is the first book in the Truhart series by Cynthia Tennent. Annie’s is the Maid of Honor for her famous older sister’s wedding. Annie is starting to feel the pressure to plan a wedding suitable for America’s newest sweetheart in the small town of Truhart, Michigan. To make matters worse she finds out that Nick Conrad her embarrassing childhood crush is going to be the best man. If you are looking for a great romance that will keep you up reading until the end, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
