Blake Hunter has never been able to take no for an answer. When Penny doesn’t return his text messages or calls, he can’t help but feel an undying, nagging urge inside of him to talk to Penny, who at this point doesn’t feel ready to say a word to him. When she goes out on a date with a new man, though, and runs into Blake on a date of his own, she can’t help but feel backed into a corner—literally.

After talking to Blake and thinking it over, she decides to do something to him that she never thought was possible. She’s going to give him a piece of his own medicine and use him just like he used her. It’s only when she starts to redevelop her old feelings for him that she knows she’s in way too deep, and she knows that her lies may hurt things all over again.

This is the second book in a planned trilogy. The book features alternating points of view by chapter.

I don't really know what to think of this installment of this trilogy. I'm not too sure it was a necessary book. It was a lot of drama for the sake of drama. I didn't like the whole "revenge" theme of the story.

Plus this one ends on a cliffhanger also. I guess I was hoping Blake and Penelope would've been past all this stuff and working towards a HEA. I will read the last book just because I want to see these two characters get their happy ever after. It's definitely been a rocky road so far!!!

this Penny character is really irritating. She is completely dependent on Blake. If he tells her to leave the job she leaves it like its no big deal. She is not at all an independent woman. I really hate her. As for the book its an ok one.

Penelope and Blake's story continues with Seduced By You book two in the series. Penny is confused and hurt with the way Blake used her to protect himself. Blake desperately tries to reach out to Penny but she refuses to hear him out. Both decide to find someone to fill the void by finding someone on Blake's app. By chance or by fate, they end up at the same restaurant with their dates. As much as she wants him, Penny finds herself putting on a show for Blake to make him jealous. She finds herself drawn to him and follows him to the restrooms. Blake is waiting for her and offers her a proposition to dump her date and meet him at his apartment. The electricity that they have is still there and she can't fight the pull. Will they find their way back to each other, or are they doomed to fail again? Blake desperately wants her back and will do whatever it takes to achieve that. He knows that with her, he is a better man and likes the way he is when he's around her. When she shows up at his apartment, their reunion is sweet and solidifies his goal of keeping her around. Penny has other thoughts running through her head after their reunion and discussing it with her best-friend, Nicolette. Her friend suggests she do the same, and use Blake and let him feel the pain he caused her. Decisions, Decisions. What will Penny Do? Can she be that person? She desperately wants to be with Blake but she still needs him to understand the pain he caused her. What will happen when she drops the bomb that she exacted revenge on him, will he forgive her or will he drop her and run? Looking forward to book three in the series.

The world of cheapo Kindle Unlimited erotic romances isn't exactly renowned for its brilliant wordsmithing. And why should it be? This shallow of the literature pond is designed for uninspired women with day jobs who crap out 10,000 words over the course of several weekends while their husbands take the kids to the Build-A-Bear Workshop, pass it along to their friend who has really good handwriting for a quick and unsuccessful edit, and then post it online to the delight of each other.

But at least some of these women have the decency to be hilariously incompetent. M.L. Young's greatest crime is being boring. I compared her heroine Penny to Anastasia Steele in my review of the first novel in Young's Blanked by You trilogy, and I stand by that. But imagine an Ana who not only achieved the same level of blandness as the original, but made every person, place, and object around her equally bland just by her presence. Imagine a story that was exactly like your day-to-day life, a life told by a bore, full of beige and more beige, signifying nothing. That's Seduced by You.

When we last left off, Penny was dumping Blake because he didn't like-like her when they first met, even though he came to like-like her over the course of the few weeks they ate meals and had sex. Woe. For some reason this prompts her to look for a retail job, even though she's graduating from her computer science program very shortly and should probably be looking for some kind of work placement or internship or something. She interviews for a gig spraying perfume on people.

The manager's name is Karen, by the way. A manager named Karen. I think the universe just divided by zero.

Later Penny and Pushy Roommate go out for pad thai. M.L. spends SO. MUCH. TIME. talking about the pad thai. (Penny doesn't want peanuts on hers. Why eat Thai food if you don't like peanuts?) There are going to be a LOT of food-ordering scenes to come, and she's going to write every word of every one of them. I suspect going to restaurants is the most interesting thing M.L. ever does.

At Pushy Roommate's urging, Penny decides to jump on Fuckster and find herself a new man. His name is Tyler.

As it happens, Blake is doing pretty much the same thing right now, even though no woman making herself available for casual fornication could possibly compare to Penny, who opened his eyes to the wonder of not being a total asshole. They arrange to meet their dates at the same Mexican restaurant. M.L. spends a lot of time commenting on how low-rent and greasy and crowded the Mexican restaurant is, even though the food is really good. I didn't mention this in the Taken by You review, but Penny had a similarly random aside about a Chinese place whose menus she was sick of getting in the mail. She feeds her characters ethnic food often, but there's always a note of contempt when they do. It's weird.

Penny's date prep elicits what I believe is the third "You're wearing that?" from Pushy Roommate.

She and Blake run into each other at the Mexican place. Their dates fall clear off the edge of the book, never to be seen again. Penny gets into Blake's chauffeur's car—who the hell has a chauffeured car in the Bay Area?—and they fuck back together.

Blake has a business trip to Seattle lined up. He wants Penny to come with him. Penny is thrilled. Now I happen to work in Seattle, and it really is a great city, so I don't blame her for being thrilled. But the way M.L. conveys her excitement suggests she learned everything she knows about Seattle from a guidebook she bought at the mall and a single Nirvana video. Penny loves the ocean and the mountains, but they don't do any outdoor activities. She wears a flannel shirt because it seems appropriate, but they don't go to listen to any live music. They even eat at the (now-defunct) revolving restaurant at the top of the Space Needle, a tourist trap only the most embarrassing boomer parents would fall for.

Before and during this trip, the entire rest of the book is this:

-Penny and Blake eat meals.
-Penny and Blake watch movies.
-Penny and Blake have lighthearted conversations.
-Penny and Blake go to sleep.
-Penny and Blake have sex maybe one other time.
-Penny wonders WHEN BLAKE IS GONNA SAY HE'S HER BOOOOYFRIIIIIEEEEEND.

But mostly it's eating. Lots and lots of eating. And we have to know every single item of food they eat, as if we're at a George R.R. Martin wedding. Look, M.L., I think we can safely assume they ate three square meals and maybe a snack or two that day, okay? You don't need to prove it. It's cool.

Also Penny and Pushy Roommate go out dancing, and some guy flirts with Penny a little, but she tells him she's seeing someone, and he falls clear off the edge of the book, never to be seen again.

But we have one more book to go. And since M.L. wouldn't know drama if it bit her in the box—what happened to those shady guys from the end of the last one?—we're saddled with another nonsensical third-act misunderstanding. You see, part of the reason Penny was so quick to get back together with Blake was to take advantage of the sex and shinies for a while and then punish him for... whatever it was he did wrong. (Guess whose idea that was. Go on, guess.) But she really like-likes him now! And it's so hard to really like-like him because she doesn't know if he really like-likes her back because at no point on the Seattle trip did he ask if he could be her BOOOOYFRIIIIIEEEEEND!

Now Blake is the one who needs to take some time to process the fact that she was pretending not to like-like him at first.

Will Blake finally ask Penny to wear his class ring? Will Pushy Roommate get her own life? Will that guy Tyler go to In-N-Out Burger and order a cheeseburger combo with no onion and a vanilla milkshake? Find out the answers to these questions and more when we return for Loved by You: same bland time, same bland channel!

Ok so following on Blake and Penny’s story, they still have some ups and downs but both seem to be better together, regardless of the secrets they kept. Will Penny reveal her revenge plan? Will Bake tell Penny about HER?
This really would be a good story and plot If it didn’t feel so wooden, the story doesn’t flow naturally. The characters are good but they feel emotionless. Some angst and some sexy times which are fairly descriptive. It’s not your usual insta love even though it actually is but they kind of act like kids, ‘were not officially boyfriend and girlfriend’ overall it’s not everyone cup of tea but I’ve stuck with it.

Not as good as some

This story line could be really interesting but the writing leaves a lot to be desired. The dialogue feels forced and the writer tries too hard by detailing every thought the character has. I felt patronized as if I needed every little thought and feeling written down. It is as if the writer thinks the reader can’t infer what the characters are feeling.

Didn't like as much as the first book. Built Penny up to be a good girl not someone to get revenge Just didn't seem to fit

The sex scenes were the most clinical I have ever read. The language used to describe anatomy was bordering on hilarious.

Hmmm... a review that will not give away the plot. Nice continuation of book one.... be prepared to slap Penny's bestfriend and her idea of what a man should be like.

1 star on Goodreads = I did not like it.
I understand the need to describe a setting, but unless the basic steps of starting a car- sitting in the seat, buckling the seatbelt, adjusting your coat, setting your purse in the passenger seat, pulling out your sunglasses, putting them on your head, adjusting the rear view mirror, putting the keys in the ignition, turning the ignition, giving the car some gas, and finally putting it into drive and moving - wait, what was I saying? See, you've forgotten the point, too! The whole point of my sentence is LOST in the minutiae. These details are generally not necessary to plot progression, and in this novel, 60% of the first person narration is this kind of unnecessary fluff, as if the number of words mattered more than actually telling the story.

The characters are inconsistent. Nicolette flip flops on her attitude toward Penny and her relationship with Blake. While characters can change their minds, usually there's a reason for it. There is NO reason provided or implied in Nicolette's attitude, and since the main point of her character seems to be as a sounding board for Penny's relationship with Blake, this kind of flip-flopping seems totally capricious.

Additionally, the characters may think a lot, but no real development occurs. They are the same shallow characters as they were in the first novel.

The story is told in first person, alternating viewpoints, and in the present tense. Except that it's not. The tense varies randomly as if the author lost their way.

Overall I enjoyed this book and thought it progressed the relationship nicely. I would have liked a little more steam but that's a personal preference. The writing was clearer than in the first book of the series which I greatly appreciated.

My biggest issue was that I didn't understand what the big deal was about her "using" him. All she did was get some towels and groceries, which wouldn't be out of the realm of reasonable behavior for any relationship. I also didn't understand the whole "becoming official" thing. Blake is a grown ass man. Would this really be happening? Maybe a talk about exclusivity, but not this huge drama and setup as though it were a proposal. I'm not sure what obstacle I would have preferred them to face, but I just kept groaning over the immaturity and complete lack of consequence of it all.

I generally like each character individually and enjoy that neither is a sad sack tortured soul. I'm looking forward to getting to their HEA in the next book.

This was a free book for an honest review.
Book two in this series was Pennys side of what Blake did to her. The way she did it was nothing like how Blake did by any means. She isn't the type of person who can use someone. The fact that she is in love with Blake and he seems to be with her also. He is a complicated person.
Pennys roommate I think is the whole problem with their relationship. She is a girly girl that thinks person should get back how they treat people ten fold. Nicolette is trying to help bit is the cause of most of their problems.
You need to read and see their love story take a more real step then in book one.

Love this story!

I have over two thousand plus books on my kindle fire. I enjoy reading and love a good story. Most times I am introduced to a new author with an apt for a free read. I rarely purchase a second and never a third in a series unless it has unique characters, and the story grabs me. This story I not only purchased book 2 but it's 1:10 a.m. and I am purchasing book 3. Loved by You which I guess says it all. I am thoroughly enjoying this read. If your a romantic at heart you will love this story.

I received this book in advance in exchange for my honest review.

Book Two is just as heated as book 1. The relationship between Blake and Penny revs up after their last encounter in Book 1. I'm not too sure where Penny's head or heart is in the beginning but by the end of Book Two you know where they both stand. This trilogy gets sexier by the book and I'm looking forward to needed a lot of ice for the final scorching finish !! Great job again!

Blake and penny

I loved the book... I'm a sap for a good love story... I love that through certain situations you can still a way to love someone. I mean in real life unfortunately that's not how life really goes all the time. I dislike that it felt like it was being rushed. But overall it's a great trilogy. It gives me hope in love.

Great series

Things continue to spark for this couple.
Trouble may be on the horizon when a plot of revenge may cause these two to call out quits.
