Prelude to a Rumor, Part One
Sean Kaheaku is at the top of his game. He’s been trained by one of the best in the spy biz and that definitely comes with perks. One of those is working with Jamie Alexander. The sexy British spy definitely tempts him in the worst way.
Jaime has heard enough about Sean to know he is considered one of the best in the field. Of course, he has slept with most of his partners—both male and female. Usually, she wants nothing to do with men like him, but something about the sexy Hawaiian intrigues her.
Their mission is easy. Get in, plant the listening device, get out. But one misstep on their assignment has them pushing the limits of their undercover roles in the most delicious way.
Note: "Prelude to a Rumor, Part One" is a prelude, along with "Prelude to a Rumor, Part Two", to the full-length book "A Little Harmless Rumor". Both preludes have happy-for-now endings. They are NOT a serial, and it is not necessary to read these books to understand the relationships in the final book..

Harmless Preludes are a wonderful gift to a diehard Harmless Addict like me. I like learning when and how Jamie and Sean met and this is a hot little tease to get ready for their book A Little Harmless Rumor. Woot!!

Sean Kaheaku is a Hawaiian spy who is one of the best at the game. He is also an independent contractor who works for several people. When Sean is approached for a new job, he is also given a new partner— actually, since Sean normally works alone—a partner. She is one sexy British spy. Sean happens to be bi-sexual and while he is more than willing to play with his new partner, first they have a job to finish, and it is a gutsy one.
Jamie Alexander has heard a lot about Sean and his reputation, both as a spy and as a lover. She is a bit worried at first about his laid-back attitude, however, she is willing to partner with Sean on this mission. If their instant attraction becomes anything more than a feeling, well, she will deal with that then.
Sean and Jamie have to put a listening device into the office of a private home, one that is owned by a suspected mastermind and a killer. Both know that if they are caught, their lives will be forfeited. Their preparation is done and tonight is the night. They will either have the chance to explore the passion that is just simmering around them, or they will die tonight. The question is which way will it go and just how close to the wire are they willing to go to accomplish their mission?
Two contract spies learn the lesson of passion and partnership in Prelude to a Rumor, Part 1. Seeing Sean and Jamie meet and form their partnership was both suspenseful and sexy. I could feel their passion just simmering between them as they got ready and then accomplished their mission. This short story of how they met and became lovers is quick and definitely makes you want to see what happens a few years down the road. Prelude to a Rumor, Part 1 is full of simmering sex and enough suspense to keep you wondering just what happens during their mission. This is one happy for now that has you begging for more—in a good way.

The first meeting/job of Sean and Jamie left me thinking they would strangle each other before they left the meeting room and then rip each others clothes off! It was just that intense! And that is just what made it great!
Sean was definitely a man with patience and was also great at his job. You didn't know if he would fall for the know it all new addition and team member but everyone knew his job would never falter.
Jamie always had something to prove, especially working in a field that expected her to deal with all the men around her! So she had to be tough. It was hard when the men made her melt.
The first job got a bit messy but that worked to their benefit and that built the relationship that they had professionally and personally. And they were great together.
I loved how the two begun. Sean knows how to start a fire under a woman!

I would read Melissa Schroeder’s grocery list. So why wouldn’t I read this short hot tale of Sean Kaheaku and Jamie Alexander’s first gig together. Sean is hot, cocky and damn good at what he does. Jamie is a woman in a mans world and just starting a new job. She doesn’t want to fuck it up but Sean is a force of nature with a lot to teach her. This story whets your appetite for the full-length book A Little Harmless Rumor. As always a glass of ice water, a fan and perhaps a towel is recommended.

A quick peek into the past where Jamie meets Sean, and although as it says, it is not necessary to read this prior to the full novel, I liked it because it give me a better understanding of their relationship's dynamics. Excitement, danger and hot scenes makes this an enjoyable taste of what is to come.

Just a taste
I know this was a teaser to A Little Harmless Rumor, but it ended way too soon. This was about Sean and Jamie's first mission together. Jamie knows Sean is bisexual, and his "no commitment" reputation precedes him. They find themselves drawn to each other, buy, the priority is the mission.
I will be interested to see how the story continues in Part 2.

I find myself really intrigued for the next short leading up to the full length book. Based on how Sean was with Jamie adding in another person should make things explode. Remains to see if it will be a good explosion or a bad one.

I really enjoyed this short story introducing us to Sean and Jaime. They had chemistry and the author just whetted my appetite for more after their super hot sex scene. I'm really looking forward to reading A Little Harmless Rumor.
