So of COURSE I shouldn't be reading this right before going to bed (with my over-active imagination), but I can't help myself! It totally spooks me out.

An entertaining book but one that struck me as absurd at times. Blackman tended to rate a large number of spirits as dangerous and kept warning that headless ghosts might well take the head of a mortal to replace their own missing head. The most off the wall section of the book is a survey form which one is to use to question any ghost he might meet. I don't know about anyone else but should I meet a ghost I don't suspect I will take the time to ask it to fill out a short survey for me.

This book has so many factual errors! For example, it states in the Whaley House Yankee Jim was hung where the front door is. It actually was the doorway separating the parlor from the music room. Another example is when the author says Kate Morgan was found dead in her room at the Hotel Del Coronado. She was actually found on the steps leading to the beach. In the Queen Mary story, he says door 13 was torn down, Having been to the Queen, I can say the door is still there. This is just a small sample of the mistakes.
