Copy received for an honest review - thank you.

I have to admit - I have had a couple of the X-Treme boys books on my kindle for what seems like forever, but Snow Boy is the first that I have read.

And now I am going to have to go back and start from the beginning, because I absolutely enjoyed Snow Boy.

As I haven't read the previous books, I am not sure why I am supposed to have a love/hate relationship with Geneva, but I have to say I pretty much adored her in Snow Boy.

I could feel that she wants to be a better person, wants to move on from mistakes she has made in her life.

And every woman needs a snow boy like Berk in their life.

I loved how she brought him back to life again after events in his life. My heart broke for him as I learned more of his past, and soared as we could see the changes she brings out in him.

The secondary characters are wonderful, and I will go back and read their books to get the most out of their stories.

Snow Boy does end on a cliffhanger, but there is not too long a await until My Snow Boy comes out, so I will just have to patiently wait for it.

**DEBBIE'S 5 KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF STARS REVIEW**

Did you ever want to smack an author upside her head with her own book? Yeah well that was me when I got to the end of this one!!!

This is the fifth book in this series and Kay Manis did it again!!! What a fantastic story. It had me glued to my kindle from beginning to end.

I loved everything about this book except that it ended and I have to wait for the next book to see what is going to happen next. Author Kay Manis has a way with writing that draws you in and takes you on a ride that has you laughing one minute and your belly in knots the next. A few times I was afraid to flip to the next page because the angst was so intense.

This is Geneva’s story. She is the girl that I could not stand in the first few books. The author has a way with writing her characters that changed how I feel about Geneva. Geneva is in Hawaii for Dana’s wedding. She meets Berk, or as Geneva likes to call him “Poseidon”. The chemistry between them that is fantastic. There is an instant attraction between the two that felt real.

“Don’t look, don’t look. It’s like the sum. If you look at him, it could blind you.”

Berk has a dark past. After a tragic accident he escapes and goes to Hawaii to work on his family resort to try and get past all the pain from his past. He is not looking for a relationship but when Geneva shows up things start to change. I love how the author let this relationship build, and even though there was an attraction between the two, there was none of that insta-love crap. Berk had a very dominating side and I loved his dirty mouth.

“My chubby got fatter and pushed along the zipper of my shorts.”

“Come for me, Geneva,” he whispered next to my ear. This was so textbook romance novel, but oh my God, if it wasn’t working.”

This book just flows fantastically and will keep you hooked from start to finish. I am counting down the days for the next book because I need it like I need the air I breathe.

I had heard great things about this series, so when the opportunity to review this book came, I took it. Plus, the blurb is very well-written and gives the idea of a very intriguing story.

So, here I am, about to write a review on this novel. It’s little perplexed about this one, to be honest. And here’s why:

First of all, the book is indeed well-written. No questions asked about it. The story has a nice flow and it centers on great characters who are very different from each other -in many ways. I was intrigued by the story and I definitely want to read the ending of Geneva and Berk.

But there are many things I loved about it and many things that didn’t feel right to me.

For one, the characters were well-developed and the author has created beautiful details about them, like the story about Berk’s name! I enjoyed those details, because they shone a different light on the characters and made the story more vibrant.

So, they were well-developed, but I just didn’t feel connected to them. It was like reading about their story but not being part of it. I felt like an outsider who was seeing everything but not actually living it. I liked Geneva and her ambiguous personality, because we all have many sides; we’re not confident all the time, we’re not sweet all the time, etc. I enjoyed how her one side blended into the other. Berk...He’s ambiguous, too. He has his issues that are a lot, I may add. He has this mysterious aura around him, but he is so honest at the same time. But I didn’t love-love him.

The story was intriguing, like I said. The characters’ backgrounds made it more interesting rather than where the story was actually heading. It was like two very interesting and different rivers of events met at a not-so-original place. I’m not saying it was dull. Not at all. It’s just that I was expecting more, because the characters were so cleverly created and their backgrounds were so unique.

Then, there’s the ending… On the one hand, I liked the twist, the subtle innuendos throughout the book that led to it and I agree with Geneva’s decision, and I actually felt like she found her strength in her own weak moment. She was crushed and hurt, but still found the strength to do what was right for her. So, I did a High-5 there! But then, the other thing comes up and the original, intriguing twist becomes not so original.

I am so confused about how to express my opinion and emotions about this book, because I want my words to reflect the truth but at the same time stay kind and objective. It’s true that I have high expectations of the books I read from now on. I want to read something spectacular, something that will stay with me, something that is more than the usual, typical stories and sexy scenes. So, my not so bright review could be due to this fact, because this book has very high rates on both Goodreads and Amazon -as does the entire series. So, maybe it’s just me. But this story could be more…

In the end, Snow Boy receives a 4- because it was well-written, with great characters.

Hawaii. Warm sand beneath your feet. Waves crashing on the shore. Paradise to many. For Berk, Hawaii is his temporary home, his solace in a time of pain. A place to hide from his past.

For Geneva, Hawaii is just a vacation spot to celebrate a friend's nuptials. Seven days of sun, sand, family and friends. A family that has grown to mean so much to her.

Both Berk and Geneva have painfully dark pasts they'd like to forget. They both hide their demons from each other. With Geneva's days on the island numbered, they figure their union will be nothing more than a quick romp. But among the heat and the lust, real feelings develop, on both their parts. And as Geneva's departure date looms nearer, the urgency to spend time together grips them stronger. Then Berk's past catches up with his present. An unexpected, and somewhat unwelcome, visitor arrives on the island disrupting the connection between Berk and Geneva. And quite possibly severing it completely.

Snow Boy was a lot of fun! Kay Manis has a creative use of words that had me laughing at some points, then the next moment things got so steamy my glasses could have fogged up. I have to point out we do meet Geneva prior to this book. And well, I never thought that I would ever root for her, but I did! For me, Geneva has been completely redeemed. She tries so hard to separate herself from who she was and the damage she did. Her family has forgiven her past wrongs and loves her tremendously. Now it's up to her to forgive herself.

Berk, sweet, hot, damaged Berk, made my heart hurt for him. Three years have passed since his world changed. We still don't know his full story, but we know enough. He's secluded himself from the world. Once a pro snow boarder, he now works at his family's resort. He doesn't speak about the circumstances that brought him there to anyone. His family knows and they've all allowed him the time to heal. But it took an unknowing, sassy blonde to reach the parts of him that he thought were sealed for good.

My gosh! When Berk and Geneva come together it's nothing short of smoking hotness. Those two in bed...or in a shower...or on a surfboard...or...or...or...yeah...s-i-z-z-l-e! Crank the AC up when you dive into this one. Sadly though, all good things must come to an end. And seriously the ending Kay Manis left us with opened a pit in my stomach and had my heart in my throat. I cannot wait for Geneva and Berk's conclusion in My Snow Boy.

SnowBoy (X-Treme Bys #5) by Kay Manis
4 Stars

We first met Geneva in SkaterBoy when she was an absolute biatch to Hindley, over the series she has had quite a prominent role. We have seen her do some horrendous things in her bid to steel Rory away and we watched as she had a change of heart and worked hard to earn the forgiveness of her family and friends.
I never really liked her, nor did I believe the complete turnaround in her personality, I kind of think a leopard can’t change its spots so have been quite cynical towards Geneva and her nice side, I keep waiting for the old her to reappear.

In SnowBoy, while away for Dana & Peters wedding (of sorts as they are already married), Geneva meets Berk whose family owns the resort where they are staying. They are instantly attracted to each other, but Berks tragic past holds him back from completely letting himself feel for Geneva and her insecurities; caused by her own history, keep her from seeing them as anything other than a holiday romance.

I’m not disappointed by this book, even though I have rated it less than any other book in the series, I just don’t feel it holds a candle to either Hindley and Rory’s story or Dana and Peters. I fell in love with Rory from the off, which made it easy for me to fall in love with their story and Dana is such a colourful character that her tale had to be interesting. Geneva and Berk just didn’t have that kick for me, and I found them a little flat.

This is still a great romantic read and Kay Manis is an author with immense talent, I can’t wait for the next book and the conclusion to the X-Treme Boys series.

I have to say out of the X-treme Boys series this is the book that I have been waiting for the most. I wanted to know the bad girl, the one that Kay Manis had you loving to hate in Skater Boy. But that is just it, Geneva might have done some pretty bad things, but she is not a horrible person. She has just made mistakes in her life that she is trying to come back from. My only issue is now I have to wait longer to find out what happens to Geneva and Berk in the next installment of their story.

Geneva is trying to be a better person and the one thing I believe that she craves the most is what everyone else has and that is to be loved by someone. Yes she is loved by her friends and family, but she wants that one person who will love her unconditionally and stand by her. But while in Hawaii with her family and friends celebrating with Peter and Dana she happens to meet a sexy Poseidon (Berk). Will Berk just be another guy in a long list of guys or will he be the one that can give Geneva everything that she wants and needs.

Berk Rigby was a professional snowboarder at the top of his game, until after a life altering change caused him to run from his career, he is now hiding away at his family’s hotel and trying to hide from the pain that is constantly surrounding him. Until the day he sees the beautiful Geneva and she turns his world upside down and make him start to feel again after so long. But he continues to wonder if he is just a vacation fling for Geneva or if they could be so much more. But when a unexpected visitor from his past shows up could that derail everything that has been happening with him and Geneva?

Okay, yes. I totally hated Geneva in the first two books in the series. And honestly, I didn't really forgive her in the next two. But when I started reading Snow Boy, it was like starting with a brand-new Geneva. I know her past, but the way the story is told, it was almost like starting with her from scratch.

Now Berk on the other hand...he's a totally fresh face in the series, and I absolutely fell in love with him. Such a tragic past, there's no way you can't feel for him--I wanted to be the one to console him and just swallow him up in my arms. That's how much empathy and sympathy is drummed up by the author in the way she wrote him.

Berk and Geneva finding each other and entering into their supposedly vacation-only romance felt quite fitting, and just like the characters felt like it was evolving into so much more, you'll be desperately hoping for the same to happen. The two of them together just create so much emotional intensity, you can't help but be drawn in as you read.

But now that the vacation is over, and they both go their separate ways...I'm just dying to find out what happens next to complete their story. And the intimate scenes between the two of them are so fiercely intense and powerful (well, along with a bit of funny when Berk gets a hold of the book Geneva is reading), in addition to being stimulating reading they are also very emotional.

Snow Boy is a great 4-star read for me, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes sports romance or contemporary romance stories. And if you're already a fan of the X-Treme Boys series, you're going to love Snow Boy!

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

EVERY WOMAN NEEDS A SNOW BOY IN THEIR LIVES!!!!!

Snow Boy by Kay Manis wooed me! Manis is a great storyteller, she will have you laughing one minute and tearful the next. Snow Boy is beautifully written and the characters are well developed. This is the 5th book in her X-treme Boys series, but can be read as a standalone, but who would want to? She has allured me into these characters lives and I want more X-treme Boys!

I love Berk! I wanted to step in the book and cuddle him up. He has a sensitive side that most guys in books today lack. I'm so glad Manis gave us a peek into his head.

Geneva was a much despised character in Skater Boy, but Manis turned her around and made me love her. I love it when you see people as a 'villain' in one book, then the author can redeem them. Geneva is more than the B she was portrayed to be.

The banter and sexual tension between these two is off the page. This book had the best written sex scene that I have read this year. She worded things differently too, sometimes it would make me snicker at how clever Manis is.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to lol with their steam! I give Snow Boy 5 beautiful steamy stars! Great job Manis.

Whether snowboarding or surfing, Berk has the athletic body of a Greek God--Poseidon to be exact as he emerges from the waves of a Hawaiian beach. But Geneva has adopted a more humble lifestyle, less out of the spotlight and less out of the bed of strangers. But their attraction under the Hawaiian moonlight, with the smell of hibiscus in the air, is too much to be denied. He thought his heart had been left frozen in the Colorado snow, but she melts him as he tempts her in every possible way. If you have read the previous books, all your friends are still here, and still going hot and heavy at the wedding for two of them. If not (like me), you won't be lost as this can be read as a stand-alone. Both of these characters have been living, going through the motions, a shadow of their previous selves. You can see the battle Geneva wages within herself. Together, they become bigger than life again, their stars burning bright. As they see past their preconceptions of each other and see into each other's true selves, they find not only their mirrored pain but their soulmates. Intermixing of Hawaiian and Texan culture add great touches, as do the unique voices of the side characters, like Dana and Okie.

I haven't read the other books in this series so I was kind of lost. So when it came to the other characters I really didn't know their back stories.

Geneva has overcome a lot of hurdles. While at a resort for a friends wedding she kind of sort of has a one night stand with a local. A hottie, god, local at that.

Berk the who is the god, hottie local has this urge to protect Geneva. He doesn't know her story. Their banter is light, funny and easy. They don't struggle for words.

As the days pass on they spend time together and their feelings ski rocket. Geneva learns of Berk's past. Well not all of it but parts of it.

Not sure if the other books are quick short reads as well. Snow Boy seemed full of lust, and sex. They couldn't keep their hands or their eye off of each other. The ending came quick and it was one of those "Say what??" kind of endings. I suppose I need to go to the beginning of the series and catch up.

Okay so I fell in love with this series and Kay Manis when my sister raved about the first book in the series *Skater Boy* and I have to say I liked Geneva's story but did I love it no. I think the reason this one didn't grab me and keep me there was I couldn't get into the characters in this one like I have with the first four books, I mean I knew Geneva from the previous books and was really looking forward to seeing where Kay would take us with her story but I just couldn't connect like I did with the other books. Although I did fall for Berk, the Greek Poseidon God..... Will I read book 6 hell yes I have to find out what happens and hope for the best. If you don't like cliffhangers I'm not sure you'll like this one but damn I'm too invested now to not read book 6!

The book was awesome. It was time for Geneva to have her happy ending even though she was a horrible bitch in book 1 and 2 but give her a chance and this book did just that. The intensity of Berk and Geneva when they were together was freakin awesome mostly when they had sex. I still love Rory and Hindley as my favorite out of all the couples but this book was good and sucks for the cliffhanger in the end but cant wait to read the next book.

This book was AMAZEBALLS!!! Kay created such a beautiful love story between two complete strangers that literally left me wanting more. Not to mention that jaw dropping ending! I can't say much because I don't want to give anything away, but if you're looking for one steamy as hell read, grab this bad boy!

Snow Boy may be Manis's best story yet. No less hot with the sex or complex with the story than her previous books, this one brings a complexity of character that draws me in immediately. I'm wanting to know if Geneva's change is here to stay and I want to know if Berk--yes, hot, handsome, damaged Berk--can work through his past to find his HEA with Geneva. Write faster, Kay Manis

I enjoyed the wounded demon past of Geneva and Berk. Who knew the pain and guilt the two shared will bring them together. I can't wait for the conclusion although I know it will be gut wrenching in comparison to this one and the rest of the series.

Book 5 in the X-Treme Boys series is Geneva and Berk's story. The usual cast are there in very small doses. Must say, I'm liking Berk he's beautifully broken. So much more to find out about this past.
