Career woman Tabitha is less than excited when her boyfriend, Neal, insists that she take a break from her high-stress job in Chicago and move with him to Little Haven. Despite her initial disdain for the town, Tabitha eventually begins to find a place for herself in her new community, and Neal’s increasing dominance in the bedroom leaves her longing for more. But she’s been keeping an important secret from him about her job back in the city. When he discovers the truth, will it tear them apart or will Neal be able to forgive his little girl?
This novella was previously published as part of the Little Haven Collection in May 2015.
A former psychologist, Normandie has always been fascinated by human behavior. She loves writing quirky characters that are all too human. “I’m interested in the kind of relationships people have in real life. So I write about my characters’ messy, unpredictable, and inexplicable journeys to love.”
If there were another 5 hours in the day, Normandie would spend more time needle-pointing and playing with photography. Instead, she’s a Pinterest addict and sports junkie who’s crazy for Twitter and the color pink. She lives with a passel of children, her hunky husband, and a pet pig who loves Red Bull.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.
I wanted to read this book just to see what it was about. I have to say that I honesty liked it. The author did a great job. At first it was a little slow but it picked up and I really enjoyed it til the end.
Tabitha and Neal move to a community named Little Haven that deals with the life that they live. Tabitha was working at a job that was giving her too much stress and causing her to have heart problems. Neal really loves her and found a place that would be less stressful for the woman that he loves.
In this book it is about a Daddy and little girl role playing. Which is pretty cool and different. I haven't read many books on this subject but this one was great. I want to read the other's that are in this community. I know that they are from different authors and I haven't read any books by any of them, just like this author.
And yes, I just used that cheesy break-up line in a... well, break-up with this book. Because, for some reason, I just wasn't into this quick, smutty read.
The Hero was good, but was absent for much of the book (besides the sec scenes, of course) so I never could connect with him fully. Don't get me wrong, I think he loved the heroine, and he was a stand-up guy, I just... didn't feel anything from him, therefore I didn't feel anything for him.
The only real complaint I have with this book was the heroine. And it's not much to complain about, really. Like the hero, I couldn't connect with her. She kind of irritated me at times, and I couldn't fully comprehend why she lied to her Daddy Dom—after all, with that lie, she knew she was going to have to tell the truth in the end. So... why? Also, her 'little girl' behavior wasn't really hot—it was kind of eye-roll inducing.
And I don't want you to get me wrong... what attracted me to Daddy Knows Best was that it is, in fact, a DD/lg romance. I haven't read many of them, but it's a new and interesting topic. But in this particular book... I just didn't care for the DD/lg romance. Maybe it's just not for me???
The sex scenes in this book were okay—probably would've been hotter if I'd been more into and invested in the book and its characters—but I couldn't wrap my mind around the whole 'Little Haven' community. I've read and seriously loved books with... let's just say interesting communities (like the Desire, Oklahoma series by Leah Brooke), but for some reason, I just wasn't into the whole 'Little Haven' community.
Perhaps it was the welcoming committee—which was a weird voyager old-lady, whom I didn't find helpful or sweet and nice... frankly, I found her to be a condescending creeper. I think it's just me, because no one else on Goodreads seemed to have an issue with it, but the was just... too much. It kind of weirded me out. And the fact that that dig-bat of an old lady tricked Tabitha into (by saying she could 'help out') reminded me of how I used to trick my little sister into doing my chores for me. So, I kinda found that whole concept off-putting.
I suppose I just couldn't connect with the characters and/or the storyline enough to understand this particular DD/lg community.
But all-in-all, the ending was very sweet; the Hero and heroine finding their happily ever after in Little Haven—despite the lies that threatened to tear them apart.
If you're thinking about reading this book, don't let my low-rating stop you... because, like I said, it wasn't really the book—it was more of me and the book together; we didn't understand each other. And everyone knows trust and understanding are what form a beautiful relationship—aren't they, Tabitha? ;)
And I wish I could've enjoyed Daddy Knows Best by Normandie Alleman more, and dispute my 'eh' 2.5-Star rating, I wouldn't be opposed to reading more taboo books by this author... so that has to count for something.
*I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley. But I do solemnly swear that I am up to... good on Goodreads. ;) This is a fair and honest review of this book. Pinky promise. *["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Daddy kink with ageplay is always a treat to read. In Daddy Knows Best, Tabitha is a bratty untruthful girlfriend towards her devoted loving boyfriend, Neal. Tabitha is a powerhouse for her high stress job as a trader. Her body is breaking down and she thinks pills will take care of it. When her boyfriend finds a new job in Little Haven, a kinky ageplay community, Tabitha pretends she is okay with it and moves with him. Neal is certain this new place and different pace to life will be what cures Tabitha's life threatening illnesses. For Tabitha, the move is a complete culture shock. She goes from pampered city girl to disgruntled country girl.
The D/s and ageplay dynamics in this story are well done. I liked the realism as well as the struggles Tabitha experiences. This is a lighter side of ageplay where it shows how people in this lifestyle can live it. The daycare center is delightful. Tabitha's spankings are well deserved. She really needs more punishment as she thinks she can run the relationship even when she is a little. The friendships made here as well as the bucolic life is what really attracts ageplay lovers. One can only wish Little Haven really existed.
From a character development, Neal is a loving Daddy dom. It's clear he is rather new to it and it would be interesting to see what happens with them after they live in Little Haven for several years. Tabitha's change over this month is nice to see. Her growth and maturity into a Little as paradoxically as it sounds is beautiful to witness. This is a loving romance with a touch of kink. Recommended to erotic kinksters looking to delve into ageplay. This is a sweet romance.
Normandie Alleman is the absolute best at writing Daddy Dom/little girl stories, and she's created another must read for fans of this sub-genre. Daddy Doms and little girl stories aren't for everybody, it is a taboo kink, but personally I enjoy reading them. Daddy Knows Best is quite a short read, but it is very enjoyable and perfect for when you want something lighthearted and sexy to read. Somehow this book manages to be both cute and deliciously dirty at the same time - it is very steamy!
Tabitha and her 'Daddy' Neal move to Little Haven when her stressful job in Chicago takes a toll on her health. Little Haven is a special community of Daddy's and their littles, and it sounds amazing! Tabitha didn't want to move and lied to Neal when she told him she quit her job. Gradually Tabitha starts to make friends and settle into the community, but will Neal be able to forgive her when he finds out she's been lying to him?
Like a lot of the heroines in this type of book, Tabitha can be a bit bratty and selfish, but she is really a good girl at heart. She is an intriguing mix of a strong woman and a naughty little girl who wants to please her Daddy. Neal is almost too good to be true - he is extremely romantic, caring and oh, so sweet. But like Tabitha, he has a naughty, dirty side to his character that makes him very sexy. There is a lot of sex in this book, but there is also a lot of real love and emotion. This is a true love story, albeit one with a kinky side! Daddy Knows Best gets five stars.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
Warning: This book is a Daddy Dom book, meaning that there is some age play, spankings of naughty little girls, and so much more. If you don’t like the idea of a submissive calling her dominant ‘Daddy’ you should find a different book.
With that said, this is naughty perfection. Normandie Alleman never disappoints when it comes to her Daddy Doms —- well any of her books really. Tabitha is a bit of a brat, she’s upset that Neal has moved them across country to live in ‘Little Haven’ a community that caters to their type of lifestyle.
Tabitha wants to go home to Chicago where her job awaits her, Neal wants to stay at Little Haven, where his little girl won’t have the stress that has hurt her health.
I love Neal. He does everything he can to make Tabitha happy. He wants to take care of her and give her everything she needs. I was so frustrated with her for only thinking of herself. Not realizing the things Neal was willing to sacrifice for her.
If you’re looking for a quick, but fulfilling read you definitely need to take a trip to Little Haven with Tabitha and Neal. Four Spankerific Stars!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Tabitha is a highly independent female with a very stressful job as a trader. When her job starts effecting her health her “Daddy” Neal thinks it would be better for her overall health if she quits her job and moves with him to Montana to a community where people are more accepting of the kind of relationship they have/ A Daddy/Dom/Little Girl relationship is different form other Dom/Sub relationships. While on the outside it appears as though she is going along with Neal’s plans she has plans of her own. Not one to open up about things of a sexual nature Tabitha finds that she is slowly starting to like and even admire some of the other little girls’ in this community. When Neal finds out that Tabitha has been lying to him will it all come to a crashing halt? Will she lose the one man who makes her feel more loved and cherished than she ever has before? Will she really chose a job over the amazingly hot and steamy relationship that she has with Neil? Can this fiercely independent woman put aside her wants and finally include someone else in her decisions about the future? Another panty dripping addition to the Daddy Series.
This was a great book. Tabitha and Neal have just moved to a little town in Mn called Little Haven. Neal wants her away from her stressful Joe that has been making her sick. Tabitha knows she's going to hate it there. She won't like anyone or find anything to do. Will her love for Neal withstand it all, or will she end up leaving him?
Normandine writes the best D/s stories. I'm always amAzed how much psychology is behind this type of relationship. In the end it's about trust and love. .
LOVED IT! Actually.....Devoured it would be closer to what just occurred. I just got this book a couple of hours ago and I could not put it down. Normandie Alleman has such a clever mind to come up with these fantastic stories and characters.
loved this story just as much as the other daddy stories. normandies stories keep you hooked and looking for more can't wait to see what else she comes up with
Cover: 5 stars Story line: 4.5 stars Characters: 4.5 stars Personal rating: 5 stars
Did it give me a book hangover: No this was absolutely beautiful.
Is this a review book or personal read: I was given this in exchange for my honest opinion.
What I liked about this book. Well what can I say that I haven't said before about Normandie... Her writing is flawless and her mind just comes alive in her books, I mean she can pull you into this world and I felt like I was apart of the little haven community, I was there helping Tab taking care of little ones and going through her troubles and her worries. Normandie hasn't lost her touch about writing steamy scenes as a few in here was beautifully put together and raunchy as ever. In this we have Neal and Tabitha who are in a D/LG relationship and I have to say that they are so cute together,
Neal is such a loving Daddy who absolutely adores his Little and they go through normal troubles that anyone can go through and the way he cares for his little is just amazing, you can really see and feel his love for her when reading this.
Tabitha is a very strong business woman who loves her job and is very passionate about it but it's also very stressful and that's not good for anybody but in the mix of this working world she has she is also a Little girl and at times a naughty one! But luckily for her she has Neal and you can feel how much she loves him and I loved reading how she feels when she sees him naked, it's like it's the first time she's seen him and it's just blissful.
I don't wanna give anything away but please trust me when I say that you will not regret buying this, this is a beautiful book of true love and yea I admit some ups and downs but the outcome is amazing and it's raunchy and I'm gonna sound like my nan right now but it's *saucy as hell* so get to one clicking and get this...
Would I read more from this author? Oh most definitely
Would I recommend this book? Oh definitely, anyone who wants to read an age play with plenty of naughty spankings and very hot loving!
*Thank you to the author for providing me with an eARC in exchange for a honest review.
Another great novel from Normandie Alleman and her erotic romance world!
The thing with Normandie’s writing, is that you will get hooked onto her story the moment you start reading and Daddy Knows Best proves it!
I have noticed that in this author’s world of DDLG erotic romance (e.g. Poor Daddy’s Little Girl), the female protagonist are always the ones with the dominant personality and control issues but when they’re with their male counterparts, they are different!
Tabitha is a rather interesting character. She’s a wild tigress when she wants to be and a tamed yet excited kitten in the presence of Neal! Neal is her Dom and really, I find him extremely sweet and thoughtful when he wanted her to move to Little Haven because of her health.
The thing is, Tabitha is an independent woman and she loves her work so it definitely took Neal a lot of effort to tear her away from the environment and work she loves.
Neal is sweet, like way-of-the-meter sweet and gentle with Tabitha! At first, he was kind of a ‘mehhh’ character but he started growing on me! The things he do for Tabitha is just too romantic and probably will never happen in real life!
(That’s what books are for! Haha, to let your imagination run wild!)
Daddy Knows Best has this rather interesting concept of Little Haven. In this town, most of them are just like Tabitha and Neal in their relationship so they actually have fun!
This is a marvellous read and highly recommended for fans of the author as well as readers who loves erotic romance!
I was given this book for free for my honest review through the Goodreads BDSM Groups TPE Bar.
Tabitha and Neal are new to the Little Haven Community. We are first introduced to them as they arrive at their new home. Tabitha has been a naughty girl and complained the whole trip about leaving Chicago. Her Daddy Dom Neal has decided on the move due to Tabithas decreasing health and numerous hospitalizations from her stressful high powered job. Unbeknownst to Neal, tabitha has not actually quit her job- just taken a leave of absence and fully intends to return to the job she loves. We watch as Tabith gets introduced to the community, she struggles with aspects of the life style yet she starts to interact and become friends with some of the women in the community. It isn't until her lie becomes apparent to Neal that she has to decide if she is going to accept her Daddy and make the move work or go back to Chicago on her own.
I enjoyed the book. We get to know Tabitha quite well and this book is written with her as the focus. I wish we got to spend more time with Neal. We see him in sex scenes and disciplinary scenes but we don't get to know him like we do Tabitha and I would have loved his take on the community. The book was well written and draws the reader in. The sex scenes are spicy and hot! My only real complaint is I don't understand the lie Tabitha told- no one packs up all there belongings for a one month move thousands of miles from home, and she knew she would have to tell Neal the truth at the end of the month when she returned to Chicago. Don't get that. The rest of the book was great, and a must read for fans of the Daddy Dom/ little girl sub genre. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I am not particularly a fan of the DD/lg relationship. I mean, I don't have anything against it. I don't look for that in my relationships; however, there are some books with this theme that I did find hot and sexy.
I have read this author's Daddy's Girl series, and I really liked those books. With Daddy Knows Best, I find that I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the books in the series I mentioned. I mean, the sex scenes were hot. That's a given. I think that when I pick up a book from this author, I already expect that. However, apart from the hot sex, there wasn't much of it that made me really love the book.
As individuals, I didn't really like either hero or heroine. The hero wasn't all that present, so I couldn't really connect with him or dig deeper into his character. The heroine wasn't one of the best that the author ever created. Story-wise, it was good, without a doubt.
I liked this book for the good parts that it had. The let down for me, however, was the main characters. Of course, this is not going to put me off anything from this author at all. If anything, I'd certainly look forward to more books because I know that while I can only rate this book three red hearts, it's still a solid read and better than some DD-lg books out there.
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review. I loved this book!!! Tabitha is not happy to be moving with her boyfriend and Daddy Neal, to the small town of Little Haven....it is a far cry from the bustling city of Chicago!!! Though she does not like her new surroundings, Tabitha will slowly find a place for herself here. Neal really loves her, and he shows her multiple times inside and out of the bedroom!!! He really cares about her health, and doesn't want to lose her. Their scenes are quite steamy and really adds to this story. There are ups and downs to their relationship that will keep the reader engaged until the end!! Please Note: this story is intended for mature audiences.
Tabitha is beyond bratty but it's nothing a firm hand can't fix. She has agreed to take a break from her job in Chicago and move to Little Haven with him for a break. Little Haven gives Tabitha the opportunity to shine and grow closer to Neal but when he finds out about her secret she is keeping there is the chance that will lose her Daddy.
I enjoy Alleman and most stories she writes. Tabitha can be a brat and whiny but once she embraces what Little Haven has to offer she soon finds not only her place but also herself in the process. She realizes that she has let her job take precious time away from Neal and I enjoyed watching her growth throughout the story.
I was not used to this type of book with Tabitha calling her boyfriend, daddy, and he calling her a little girl. Tabitha and Neal leave Chicago to find a less stressful life for Tabitha, whose job is very stressful for her and is causing her health problems. Neal convinces Tabitha to relocate to a community that supports their lifestyle. The underlying truth of their relationship is really one of taking care of each other and loving each other in a way that works for them. Throughout the book, my opinion changed after seeing how much they really adore each other and how they would sacrifice to show the other how they loved each other, and that's what got me hooked on this book.
I received a copy of this book through the BDSM group TPE Bar read2review on Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. First I should say that it was well written and i really enjoyed it, It starts with Tabitha and Neal (her Daddy Dom) moving to a new house in Montana after Tabitha left her job that was stressing her to the point of health problems, they move to a community called Little Haven that deals with the Daddy Dom/little girl life they live, she is very independent and strong and has a character, and Neal really loves her. It's not just a hot read but has a really interesting plot i loved it it was really worth my time.
Normandie Alleman has written a number of Daddy books. This one that was Part of The Haven, a small town away from the bustling city of Chicago where Tabitha and Neal have moved. The town is devoted to couples can practice Age Play without judgement. One of the things I loved about this book was that Tabitha stayed an adult but with a younger appearance and was free to play as a carefree girl. The sexual scenes were hot and the love and romance was sweet.
Neal is taking his Princess, Tabitha away from her stressful job in Chicago and moving her to a town in Minnesota that their age play won’t be an issue. Tabitha is acting the brat and her daddy is not going to accept it any more. So Hot! The story is great, I loved the characters and the sex is HOT and all around excellent read.
Alright… There is no hiding behind the bush when you choose to read books like Daddy Knows Best by Normandie Alleman. You are out for one thing and one thing alone--- wet panties. Readers who are more than willing to live out some kink through fiction love authors who are brave enough to write smut. To me, the perfect recipe for leaving thirsty readers panting for more is plain and simple. I like it dirty, I like it naughty, and I like it raunchy all the while pushing those boundaries that make most others cringe to admit that they got off on it. Romp is a guaranteed with these sorts of books but what makes one stand out from another is that extra lift of deliriously perverse dialogue between the parties involved—whether that be between 2 people or 6. Make it so good that it makes readers wiggle around their seats pining to possibly reenact such scenes in real life.
For me, Daddy Knows Best lacked in this aspect. Sure, the Daddy theme was there and there were “hottie tottie” scenes that got my eyes wide, my throat dry, and my thighs clenching but like being in the middle of a compromising position… it didn’t quite finish me off. Ugh, the utter frustration!!! There was way too much talk of knitting and of nosey neighbors and migraines. All of which had nothing to do with Daddy loving his princess. If I’m going to read smut, don’t fill up the pages with 60 year old neighbors and job interviews if they have no point to the story. Use those few pages (as it was) with dirtier and naughtier scenes instead.
I wasn’t expecting to read a Pulitzer worthy book but I was at least hoping that I’d get to a home run during my hot date with Daddy Neal and his little girl Tabitha. I was instead left sitting in the sidelines with an empty bad of Cracker Jacks completely unsatisfied with how it all panned out. However, if you’re into Daddy play and have some room in your reading schedule, give this a shot as you may come to find yourself wishing for a bidet in your households at the end of reading Daddy Knows Best. If that’s piqued your curiosity, then I suggest you get on this now.
ARC Nicely provided in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.
I feel quite conflicted about this book.
What I liked : the writing. Very fluid, no repetitions.
What I was expecting and did not get : I love the idea of a “like-minded” community for Daddies and Little Girls, but except for the day care story we did not get much. We didn’t even get to meet another couple. In fact we only really hear about other women, and not much.
What I was disappointed with : I could not relate with any of the two MCs. Something was off.
Neal is supposed to be a Dom, but you don’t get to know much about him : he is really handsome, is a mechanic, and cares a lot for Tabitha. That’s it. And even that is off.
I was kind of confused when I started reading this book. I was under the impression this book was going to be about an older man with a younger women. But... That's not the case. There's only a 4 year age gap between them. I think what throws me in the synopsis is the part all the way at the end where it say "his little girl". I just assumed.
And... The title of this book automatically has you thinking this is going to be one of those guilty pleasure kind of books. Nice and dirty and straight to the point. It wasn't really. It was hot... But... not hot..hot.
Neal was gone most of the time working. Leaving Tabitha by herself. To make friends within her new community. Agnes was a little to much for me. That knitting class was strange. Especially how serious it was. The whole where to buy yarn to make scarves. Was not appealing to me and the whole day care thing... Was a little weird for me too. I was expecting something way different.
Overall... This was an ok read. I didn't love it... But I also didn't hate it.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is about a couple who move to a community where men treat their female partners as children in varying degrees. Neil is "Daddy" and Tabitha is his "Princess". Neil, concerned for Tabitha's health because of the serious migraines she has been experiencing, believes she has left her high pressure job and made a permanent move with him from Chicago to Little Haven, in Minnesota. In truth, Tabitha has every intention of returning to Chicago and her job. Tabitha acts like a bratty teenager and Neil is the authoritative"daddy" figure. There is a lot of sex in this book, including spanking and elements of BDSM but seems pretty mild in the age play spectrum. Above all, Neil and Tabitha are a loving couple and that comes through clearly.
Tabitha calls her boyfriend Neal “ Daddy” and he calls her “ Little Girl”. Neal has talked Tabitha into letting go of her job and moving with him. Tabitha was a trader and the stress of her job was giving her health issues. But in reality Tabitha lied to Neal she didn’t quit she took a leave of absence. Neal really loves Tabitha and really treats her good what will she do ? I really loved this story and plot. It had different facets like being serious or funny or just plain sweet . I also taught you about a different kind of sex group that had their own community to live and thrive. Anyway I love the characters although I must say I liked Neal more than Tabitha. But still liked her also and understood her drive. Great story in all aspects. I definitely recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
This was really good. By being in a community of littles, there were different relationships and depths of littles that the characters interacting with
The main couple had a pretty well established dynamic and their story was very good. Neal and Tabitha had been together for over a year and it was his decision to move. While he indulges her, she is pretty headstrong. This is his first daddy dom relationship, but she absolutely loves it, as she has a high stress job and this gives her the release she needs
She slowly realizes she enjoys more than she thought, but is still missing some of what she needs as a person. The commitment they have for each other is tested, but when Tabitha finally embraces her inner feelings, things finally fall into place
*I received this book free in exchange for an honest review* I really liked Tabitha and Neal. They make a well rounded/balanced couple. Like all the girls in this authors books, she's a little bratty. Though a smart, educated, independant woman, she wants more from her relationship. She has Neal, who is her Daddy Dom. (Daddy Dom relationships are where the man acts like the woman's father. Spanking, giving rules and more.) This is one super sexy story. Neal moves Tabitha away from the big city to small town living, where the community is all into the Daddy Dom lifestyle. This whole book seems like it's a huge change for Tabitha. Can she handle it? Can she try it for Neal or lose him? Super sexy and awesome story! You need to read this.
2 1/2 stars This was my first Daddy/little read and it was a middle of the road read for me. I really liked Neal, but he was absent (at work) for so much of the book that I couldn't feel the connection between the couple. Tabitha was a little too whiny in my opinion for the older little she portrayed. There just wasn't enough emotion in the read for me to completely to connect and root for the relationship. The meat of the plot and Tabatha coming to terms with what's really important was done well. The way Neil speaks to and treats Tabatha was also done well. I know that we would all like that in our men. I'm sure that most people will really enjoy this read, but I just wasn't able to connect.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Tabitha moves to Little Haven with her boyfriend Neal. Neal wants Tabitha to get away from the stress in the city life, and Tabitha doesn't want to but she agree's. Tabitha plans to only be gone a month and then head back to the city. When Neal finds this out he isn't to pleased with her. The community they move to has something in common with their relationship. Older men with younger girlfriends that call them "Daddy", and they go to a daycare while their "Daddy" is at work. This isn't something Tabitha falls into very well but she gives everything there a try.
