In life and in the ring, you never dish out pain you're not willing to take.
Kellen and Jenna have been friends for years. A boxer with a shattered past and an artist with a wealthy family, they found each other against all odds. Ever in each other's corner, they grew up together, watched relationships rise and crumble, and the only one that's always left standing is their own.
Bound to each other by an unwavering friendship, undeniable love, and a growing desire, timing has never been on their side. Not until now.
Now they'll find that falling in love was the easy part. That happily ever after doesn't come softly, and the end of their story is only the beginning.
Why this book so heavily revolved around Laney leaves me at a loss. She was a grade-A hypocrite and everyone allowed her childish behavior just cos. She didn't deserve everyone walking on eggshells for her She let Jenna feel enormous amounts of guilt for an entire year and when everything was said and done and all of Laney's dark came to light everyone was so quick to forgive and forget and move on. Cos you know her behavior was just sooo Laney
For this to have been the ending of Kellan and Jenna's story it once again revolved around Laney just like in Knockout. This book frustrated me to no end and I didn't even care for the HEA. Jenna deserved so much better than being continuously disregarded by Laney. I found myself skimming which I rarely ever do but I just couldn't stand the way Jenna allowed others to treat her. I couldn't even sympathize with Laney's loss. All I could think was that it was karma (which made me feel shitty cos karma should never be that cruel) but I thought it nonetheless because in my mind it was too little too late to humanize Laney after making her so petty and immature for most of the book.
The third book in the North Star Series, this is the book fans have been waiting for. Jenna and Kellen’s path to love has not been easy. Their history is messy, emotional and full of heartache and betrayal. Despite all their ups and downs, Jenna and Kellen have finally found each other. Now, they must prove they have each other’s backs and fight to stay together, fight their demons and fight to really see what lies beneath the surface.
“In every beat of her heart and breath in my body I felt love.”
You can’t help but fall for the tortured Kellen. Despite the bad boy persona, he is simply a man who wants to feel worthy of love and be able to give the one person who understands him better than anyone, the love she deserves. Kellen needs to learn to let Jenna in. He wants to be the person who loves her wholeheartedly and if Kellen is to be that man, he needs to come to terms with his tragic past to give Jenna a future. Jenna is amazingly supportive of Kellen. She understands him like no one else ever has. She is perfect for him. She is such a passionate and honest character. She proves to Kellen he deserves someone who doesn’t run, someone who cherishes him and the love they share.
“You’re starlight.”
I still couldn’t bring myself to like Laney in this book! At times we see glimpses of the sister Jenna loves, but most of the time I wanted to give her a right hook so she would just stop whinging and give Jenna and Kellen’s relationship a chance. I loved meeting Callum again, he’s hilarious and I adored Kellen’s Irish family. Their scenes showed Kellen how a real family loves. Tracey Ward writes amazing characters. They’re complex, flawed and real. Their dialogue captures the intimacy and honesty in their relationships. I feel like I’m listening in on a private conversation and seeing a side to them the outside world doesn’t get the privilege to see. In the end, they know what it means to follow what your heart really wants, and needs. This is exactly why Kellen and Jenna’s relationship will have you cheering for them from start to finish.
I had to wait almost 2 weeks to read this and it nearly killed me. We finally get to see Jenna and Kellen be together. Although it's not as easy as it should be. Kellen still hasn't faced his history and its affecting their relationship. Throwing in the fact that he's meeting his family and learns some uncomfortable truths about his mother and it's a rollercoaster of emotions. Jenna is still feeling guilty and Laney isn't making it any better. I never quite understood why Jenna allowed Laney to treat her that way though. I mean after what Laney did what right did she have? She's moving on with her life but still treats Jenna like crap even when she actually didn't do anything wrong. The ending couldn't have been more perfect. There really aren't alot of writers that can make me cry both from sorrow and laughter but Tracey sure manages to time after time. This can be read as a standalone but to get the perfect experience read them in order.
I might be biased because I love everything Tracey Ward has written (I seriously told her I would be happy to even read her grocery list)...but this series and especially this book get 5 stars from me! I love that we finally get to dive in to the heart and soul of all that is Kellan, his past, present and future. Reading as Jenna slowly and cautiously peels back layers and Kellan tries with all that he has to let her in and to love her the way he feels she deserves to be loved is heart wrenching. Being able to watch this once forbidden relationship bloom into what it has is absolutely amazing and Tracey has continued to bring Kellan and Jenna to life. This story is written in joint POV, which is my favorite since it allows us access into the minds of both characters. The perfect ending to this series and a definite keeper!
DNF at 15%. I'll refrain from rating this book since I didn't finish it, but there were just too many things going against it for me.
I wasn't in the mood for a super sad, angsty, drama filled book. There is an MC who's suffered sexual abuse. The H was also in a relationship for many years with the h's sister. He was engaged to the sister and then broke things off. He's messed up and he wanted to keep his relationship with the h "pure", so he had lots of sex with other women and also with the h's sister. At the beginning of the present, the H and the h are together now. What.the.heck. No thanks. I'm surprised I stuck with this book for so long. It is not for me.

"Life is like a boxing match. Defeat is not declared when you fall, but when you refuse to stand again."
5 stars!
Oh my! Just a few days ago I re-read Knockout and Brawler and was eagerly waiting for the third book in this series. I read somewhere that it was supposed to be published on September 17th, but then I saw Madeline Sheehan announce on her Facebook page that Ringside was live YESTERDAY and I was so excited to read it! Tracey Ward delivers again, and I'm happy that there are such great books in this world!
I'm not sure whether there will be more books about these characters, but so far the story was wrapped up well, and the story arch was believable and multidimensional. The book was still a fairly light and funny read, and I was so happy for Jenna & Kellen! They had fun moments, sweet moments, devastating moments and quite a few other moments, and in every one of those the author managed to convey the characters love for each other. Their fighting spirit. Jenna and Kellen are fighters, brawlers - pretty much ballers.
I enjoyed following Kellen's journey to find himself and the things that make him happy, and likewise with Jenna. It's always a joy to read about characters who take their lives into their own hands and built them and deal with what they're given. It's uplifting and much needed, for me at least. There are way too many people in this world who have trouble being brave, so it's nice to have some reminders every once in a while, even when they are fictional.
I still didn't like Laney very much, and at times I was confused how little Dan sometimes seemed to care about what was happening under his nose, but then again, I kind of would prefer it if I could make my own mistakes without anyone commenting on them so keenly, so I guess I'd actually really like Dan's approach to parenthood. He was there when he was needed, but he didn't butt into every conversation and life-decision the girls made.
I'd sort of like to know more about Kellen's family though, both the Irish one and about his father, but I think the basics were covered and the characters felt real. Although, I'm still curious about Mason as well. Why he's ambidextrous and so on.
Anyway, Ringside is a great story about love and loyalty, commitment to growth. Read it!
The final book in the NorthStar Trilogy by Tracey Ward made me both cry and laugh uncontrollably. An amazing ride with a delicate balance between heart-rending and humorous moments and characters. It's been hard to write a review because I have no idea how to put how much this book affected me into real words. The love story between Jenna and Kellen isn't conventional, it is hard fought for and hard won by and Ward has done a masterful job making these characters real. Attainable humanity is hard to write, but she has done it. She was also able to avoid making the characters perfect once things have been resolved, while at the same time showing real growth in her characters. I am straight up staring at this review because I just want everyone to read this book, read this series, read this everything. Amazing. Read it.
Kellan & Jenna just made sense together... Kellan coming to grips the best he could involving his time in foster care, Jenna's selfless patience all throughout their journey. yet i thoroughly despised Laney & her "Kardashian-esque" self entitled personality.
Definitely some things were not okay with me. Hero being with heroine's sister for nine years before getting together with heroine was bittersweet but there was no chemistry between them so I got over it quickly. Also there was really no chemistry between hero and heroine. Did they love each other? Yes. Did they fight for each other? Not really. Hero had loads of emotional issue and for good reason. . He was very closed off person. And the therapy accept of the book was really great. He did make an effort to make himself worthy of heroine after all. It was heartbreaking to read how he felt so dirty about himself. THe heroine was upbeat person and realistic. She never really showed any jealousy towards hero's relationship with his sister. I havent read the first book which is from her perspective so I could be missing something. But I feel if the hero had not made the move, she would have let him have his "HEA" with the sister.
The sister was a really unlikable character who was petty. I liked how the author made comparison between various characters, the relationships and reason for making certain decisions by the hero. The OW getting her happily ever after with the person she cheated with while she was with the hero (book 2) was bit convenient but okay. I would say that her losing the child was maybe her punishment for how she was dealing with everyone. She didnt really change though. The person she cheated on with (her future husband) was a decent person. I think he deserved better but oh well.
I wanted to read more about hero's father who actually turned out to be a decent guy. I wanted to read more about him in the last chapter. Hero's Irish family was nice and he got lucked out in that aspect.
The dynamic in his adopted family were good but something was missing - perhaps the passion?!
✨5 Stars✨-Amazing (couldn't put the book down-dangerous addiction),
A WOW OF A READ
Book written in dual POV; This is a 3 part series; book 1 written in Jenna's POV, Book 2 is not a continuation but a replay of book 1 but filling in the gaps written in Kellen's POV, so there is new information it's not all just a repeat leading to this one, book 3, a conclusion to what more becomes of this story. More questions are answered and loose ends are cleaned up for us readers.
I am truly speechless. What an emotional read. Gritty and raw through and through. I don't think I've read anything like this before, but I must say I would love to find more. This read felt real and I was captivated. Kellen's story has evolved through all three books and with each turn of the page I was surprised and taken under by this man. Jenna is amazing. Best heroine in my opinion. Faithful, loyal and admirable. I could not get enough of these two and now that I'm done, I feel empty but content. This series is definitely going on one of my top 5 of all time. I enjoyed every minute of the series. I never felt like I was left hanging. The way Tracy Ward ended each book was different. I wasn't really left with unanswered questions but I was always looking forward to "MORE" and "MORE" is what I got and I was not disappointed.
*** Starts a few months before the airport and surprise proposal at the end of book 1 & 2***** Finally, we got to see Kellen have his breakthroughs, face his demons, visit people he has never knew about, speak with a man from his past and be the man he always wanted to be before the dark. Remember the coma well he will remember things when someone he never met will trigger his mind and getting the truth. Him and Jenna are still working through his 'shut downs' but when she wants to meet his animal what will he do, have them meet or run? Will Laney finally grow up and be an adult when it come to Kellen and Jenna? Kellen and Jenna will finally meet the other person how help create Kellen and the answers he will share will be both upsetting but understandable, showing Kellen a cycle he was destine to follow. Will Kellen stop resenting the man that wants to be his father? Laney will face a tragic event and she will need Jenna more then ever but what happens next when after Laney learns to live again, will her sister be shoved aside again and hates?.....
Laney, the sister the H was with for years, was an asshole and cheater. Kellen, through the series, was an asshole and the h was a doormat. This is the HEA book so it’s all lead us to here. So many stupid choices before this. How they got here I’ll never know.

Bravo!! I can't put into words how much I loved the North Star series! Each book was brilliantly written. I loved everything from the beginning in Knockout to learning about Kellen in Brawler and getting a chance to witness Kellen and Jenna coming together in Ringside. I cried, laughed, yelled, and cried again in Ringside. I felt the progression between Kellen and Jenna was just so believable by expressing all of their heart ache and pain. I waited so long to finally get a chance to read the last installment. I found so many scenes just funny. I loved when they went on the double date with Callum -(Jenna just got her period so we have to go). Kellen taking Sam to pick out jewelry - (I know who you are-Batman). Kellen and Jenna at the engagement party discussing the cheap vodka and lastly the note from Kellen at the end of the story. I could go on and on with so many scenes I just loved. And most of all I was happy when Kellen took in pit-bull puppy (Go Pit-Bulls). I just loved this story so much. I just wish Tracey would have given us an epilogue. I still had some questions that I just needed answered.
Same channel, same characters, but we finally get some new information. It's not your typical ending--the characters' problems don't all go away. I just wish that sister did. She's a one-dimensional evil through three books. It isn't clear why the main character keeps walking into her traps, right up to the closing scene. Despite one-dimensional characters and poor editing, the author managed to pack a lot into this book. She could have done her readers a favor and spread some of it around, like into the second book. There were some moments of genuine emotion and entertaining dialogue, and a strange scene in which characters from an altogether different book made an appearance and then never returned. In the same vein, two major supporting characters disappeared at the end of the story because they were avoiding each other, setting us up to read yet another book.
I didn't care for Kellen in Knockout and I wondered what Jenna saw in him. Yes they were friends but nothing beyond the basic from his side. Jenna was always there for him but can't say the same about him. So, I he seemed to be a callous character but the end of it blew my mind away. Brawler dragged me through the mire. It completely ruined me and Kellen! Kellen has blown each and every one of my H's away. I don't care how he went about it but I think if anybody deserves a break, that's him. Ringside rounds up all the loose ends beautifully. I can't imagine the trauma he went through. His journey towards healing is admirable. Such grit! And Jenna is a champ through all of it. I didn't want it to end, I wanted to know more of his journey. But like always, all good things come to an end and I will be stuck with a terrible hangover. But totally worth it!

This was my favorite in the set!! The way it was written was better, more solid in my opinion. The scenarios were just amazing, realistic, and flawlessly presented. Tripe to Ireland? amazing!!! The foit, the family dynamics, the accents... brilliant! Well done Tracey! This is a novel I will likely read again and again because it just... Spoke to me and helped me through some of my own demons. A plus plus! and... Jenna is my new favorite character. love her sass, her sensitivity, her wit. She's who I want to be in real life. Love that Nonpareil!
Really loved this series although I couldn't read the first to books back to back. Wait a week it gives it a better perspective on Kellen without that sense of de ja vu. Love books that really aren't cookie cutter and speak to the growth of the self. Check this series out and Tracy's other books if you are looking for something with some meat to it.
This book helps tie up some of the harsh situations in the previous books. I couldn't get up the nerve to read knockout after reading Brawler, but this book was dual POV so I was able to get Jenna's thoughts in this book.
I really needed (ok wanted) an epilogue. I want to see everyone is okay in the years to come. Also wondering if there's a story for Callum and Sam. Those two left me with questions...
The first book brawler was just so well written and bittersweet and I laughed and cried and was angry at times too. I hated waiting to see what would happen in the next book and with their story but it was worth the wait. Her writing is nonpareil.
I just love it!!!! I Love Jenna and Kellen. They are just amazing! I hope we get Cullum and Sam's story and more Jenna and Kellen!!! Thank you for this Book!!! A Must Read!!!!
I was so happy to see this last installment released. This couple has been through so much and I have been along for the ride. Even if they're not your traditional couple their bond is so deep.
