Lies in Rewind

Rate this book
"Karma never disappoints. Karma always delivers..."

Lawyer Sara Klein has made creating a facade of power and seduction an art form, but the wear and tear of years of lies has put a serious crack in her foundation. William "Liam" Knight has grown up in a world of wealth, privilege and heartache. When William's attempt to play white knight to the wrong damsel in distress shines light on Sara's crashing image, can the two provide each other a life raft or will they be each other’s undoing?

LIES IN REWIND is the second book in the LOVE IN REWIND series that follows the love lives of two best friends, Emily and Sara. This novel could be enjoyed as a standalone, however, it is highly recommended to first read and meet these characters in LOVE IN REWIND (Book I) prior to reading this book, for a more complete experience

Ya'll know I rarely give one star reviews. RARELY!

Okay... so... I read book one a few years ago, gave it a Pro & Con review with a three-star rating. In turn, I got some serious flak from some of this author's "fans". I mean, three stars? That's not a hideous rating. Anywho... when I saw that there were more books in the series I decided to give this author and this series another chance..... Sigh...

I can't stand a cheater. Especially one that uses a woman for selfish gains. and I especially can't stand a woman that knows a man is married and does such awful things to the wife. This storyline was horrible. HORRIBLE.

I won't spend much time on this. For a real deal review that says exactly what I want say check out this review from Melissa ---> https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I don’t even know where to start. In the first book I was so curious about Sara. What made her tick? What made her the way she is? WILL SHE, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING, FINALLY FIND HER HAPPINESS? I was just completely drawn to her. The fact that I got to go inside her crazy head was phenomenal. And let me just say that she was everything I had hope for and more. One minute I am laughing at her filthy, non-filtered mouth and then the next I want to curl up in a ball beside her and coddle her just so she wouldn’t hurt anymore.

I felt Sara’s love and intensity and her hurt just from sitting on the other side of my Kindle. Just like Louis and Emily ripped me apart in LOVE IN REWIND. Her fierceness and her vibes were just, everything. Her love for Emily was outstanding and you can’t forget about the 80’s music because I was so thrilled that Tali picked up with that in this book also.

Tali’s writing style is so exceptional that I didn’t even realize it was 4:30 in the morning and I had just read her whole book in ONE day. I felt like I was there and a part of her story. You know, like that creepy person in the background that just kind of stands there and observes everything and soaks it all in? Yeah, that’s what I felt like. One different thing about LIES IN REWIND was how different it was from the first one. I found myself literally sitting on the edge of my seat. I thought it was thrilling and more compelling than LOVE IN REWIND. I felt like I was more intrigued in this book. LOVE IN REWIND made me fall in love with love but LIES IN REWIND stripped me down, shoved all the feels in my face, and then left me hungover and wanting more.

* The author of this book sent me this copy in exchange for an honest review, so don’t expect less than that, I will always give my honest opinion, like it or not *

I am really happy with this book and right now I am driving crazy because I really want the third book and it was not even released yet ! I NEED TO KNOW JEFF’S STORY TALI ALEXANDER OK? I just need it…

So if you are not into this series then you don’t know this but the first book is about Emily and Louis, the second book is about Sara and William (Sara is Emily’s best friend and Louis appears in the first book as well) AND the third book is about Jeff, Jeff is basically a character that you see as a total arse in this second book BUT the truth is that when the book ends you don’t feel like that anymore… not that he changed or something like that but I guess that you learn how to like him… I DON’T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN, if you want to understand just read the books…

When the first book ended I didn’t like William Knight at all, really, believe me… I just couldn’t stand him because a ton of things that I can’t tell you right now because I don’t want to spoil you… then, I started reading the second book and I began to hate William/Will/Liam… ok ? So let’s see this like I loved Sara, Emily and Louis and I just hated Liam. While reading the book I started liking a tiny little bit William because he actually was a nice guy, and then he ruined everything again and I hated him… once again… because he was saying stuff about my baby Louis. My relationship with Liam was REALLY bad but I still had Sara, that awesome and strong girl… then she turns into a real b*tch and I just start to hate her. Everything is just not right when Liam turns into a really cute guy and I start loving him while still hating Sara… then Sara turns into a really awesome girl and I start loving her again… so now I love them both… then eventually I started hating them again but the good thing is that I finished this second book loving everyone (I’m a really sweet girl) – NOW, I have this question for you Tali, “Why in the hell would you want me to feel all of these emotions while reading this book ? Why couldn’t you make me love the same character from the beginning to the end ? Don’t you like me ? Do you want to ruin our friendship ?…” (kidding, love you Tali).

I guess that I have already told you everything I could about the characters, I have feelings for all of them, even the girls ! Can you understand that ?! EVEN THAT ASS – Jeff – I like him now, how can that be ?

Talking a little about this cover because I always like to talk about the book covers… this cover is so beautiful I don’t even have words to describe it. I liked the first book’s cover of course but this one ?! Oh jeez… so awesome and beautiful, I just want to hug it !

Of course that I recommend his book to everyone, I am not saying that you need to read the first book to read this one because these are separate stories but you surely should because there’s a lot of stuff in this second book that in order for you to understand that stuff you REALLY need to know the first book’s story… so yes, I was wrong… YOU NEED TO READ THE FIRST BOOK BEFORE YOU READ THIS ONE.

"Liars like me don't deserve to be happy. Nobody chooses me; I'm not a good choice."

I'm not sure where to begin with this review. When I read Love in Rewind, it gutted me. That book took me and showed me the best kind of love, then it ripped me to shreds and worked to fix me.

That's where we first met Sara Klein, Emily's best friend.

I loved Sara in book one. She was exactly who I would be if I could choose to be someone. Carefree & Outspoken, she was the perfect yin to Emily's yang.

"Maneater" Hall and Oates
Full of life and never without a man or boy toy, Sara is the envy of many. Perfect job, perfect family, perfect friends. Or is it?
"Owner Of A Lonely Heart" Yes
In Lies in Rewind, I discovered there's so much more to Sara than meets the eye. Essentially she's not who she claims to be. "While my job is to protect everybody else, I always somehow fail to protect myself." Her facade is more of a protective exterior to all the pain she endures.

"Shout" Tears For Fears"
Then there is Liam Knight. I didn't love him in the first book. Because, well, if you read it you'd know why. He was just the underdog. But now this time around, I wanted nothing but the best for him. He's been living life with a distorted vision regarding certain things. He's angry and hurt and wants revenge.

"Once you know the truth you can't un-know it."

What we find is that Liam and Sara are alot alike.

"Time After Time" Cyndi Lauper
For years, Sara has been in love with Jeffrey Rossi. He's it for her, she's waited. And waited. And waited. He loves her too. So this should be easy right? Sara is "Saving All My Love For You" Whitney Houston. And Jeffrey, well…"You Keep Me Hanging On" Kim Wylde

"We all think we know what our life should look like, but when our real life materializes, sometimes the truth is too much to handle."

Then, Sara meets Liam. And before she knows it, she's "Upside Down" Diana Ross.

Liam is blindsided because he's got ulterior motives for Sara. She's his means to an end. He knows what he wants and he's going for it. He's, "Lost In Emotion" Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam

Can these two broken souls find a way their way to the happiness they both deserve?

"The truth in a nutshell: we're two broken people trying to help each other break even more."

"I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" Aretha Franklin & George Michael

I'm always impressed when an author can make me feel like I know their characters as if they are real people in my life. Thank you Tali, you did it again!

First things first, Lies in Rewind can be read as a standalone but do yourself a favor and read Love in Rewind first. I really think you need to know Emily and Louis' story before you get into Sara and William's book.

With that being said, I absolutely adored Lies in Rewind. We meet Sara in Emily's book. They've been best friends since they were in diapers. Sara is Emily's adventuresome other half. She's experienced, outgoing and knows everything about everyone; or so we think.

Sara's life is basically one big lie. She has dug herself so deep she doesn't know how to get out of it. She meets William (Liam) after trying to get to the bottom of his relationship or lack thereof with Emily and ends up trusting him with her most private truths. Her best friend doesn't even know the extent of her relationship with Jeffrey and they've known each other their entire lives.

Liam is out to avenge his sisters death and ruin Louis Bruel's life but he doesn't really know the entire side to his sisters story. He knows what she wrote and that is all. While trying to figure out his sisters story, he becomes entranced with Sara and really doesn't want to let her go.

A few things really intrigued me about Lies in Rewind. One, I am a sucker for a super steamy book. Love in Rewind gave me that. Lies in Rewind is basically the opposite. There are steamy scenes but no actual sex until the epilogue. Tali knows how to write a hot sex scene and she doesn't disappoint with it. Two, the books timeline. Sara rewinds her tale of fifteen years with her lover Jeffrey but ninety-five percent of this book takes place in one day. I loved that! It's crazy to think of all of that information being divulged in such a short amount of time. Three, THE MUSIC! Tali nailed the 80's song choices for each scene in this book; it is epic!

Anyway, I'm a true believer in Tali Alexander's writing. She deserves the recognition she receives and I can see her having a bright future in this industry with her Audio Fools series.

"He loves me as I am; it's just that in our case, love is not always enough."

WHOA!
I cannot express how exceptional of writer Tali Alexander is. Her writing style is phenomenal and before you know it you're are flying thru the book all the while you get completely lost in the story and feel as if you've become one of the characters yourself.
This is the second book in Audio Fools series. Love in RewindLove in Rewind is the first book in the series and it completely rocked my world! If you haven't read it you need to. Find me review Here.

This book was very different than her last book Love in Rewind, It was more Raw, Suspenseful and Emotional.

This book continues off from where Love in Rewind left off but this is Sara's book, Emily's wild and crazy best friend, whom I freaking love! We get to see Sara in a whole different light, she is so much deeper and more complexed than she betrays and is dealing with so much heart ache I truly don't understand how she was able to hold it together.
Sara's book will take you on roller coaster of emotions. One minute you will be a ball of sexual frustration and the next minute you will be wanting to rip your own heart where you don't have to feel that pain that Sara is having to endure.

Even though this story took me on a whirl wind of emotions, when I got to the end of the book, I was heart broken because it was ending. But was so incredibly happy when I seen a certain someone was getting his own book!! YAY!!!!!!!! I am so over the moon about that news!

I'm going to be honest I've been racking my brain for days on what I need to say in this review but to sum it up,. I can't really go into great detail without spoiling everything plus I will NEVER be able to express my love for not only this book but the series thus far and the author.
Tali Alexander has put a spell on me with her amazing work and I am always left with wanting more. She is truly a gifted writer.
So do yourself a favor and go read this series!! NOW!!

Quotes:
"I look at Jeff who's standing right there, looking at me as if he's right where he belongs. As if he has the right to question my whereabouts. My heart clenches and bleeds as I look at him, wishing that he did have the right to question me. I don't want to act strong anymore. We can't keep doing this! I want him, I need him and yet he's not mine want or need. I made decisions that I had no right making, and I've been paying the consequences ever since."

"If I don't touch you at least once a day, my whole day feels a waste," he whispers, already kissing down the side of my face."

"Jeff, when will you let me go?" I ask, knowing that the answer is never. "Why would you want me to let you go? You are my life, Sara, out time will come, and then we will never have to be apart again, baby."

"I wonder if he means when we die and then our poor lost souls can finally be together like Romeo and Juliet."

"I smile and sadly think what I wouldn't give to be with him for millions of moments."

"I need to be inside you. I've been going crazy trying to find you all day. Please don't keep me away and don't ever ask me to go. You know what you are to me." I'm nothing, I chime in my brain.

"No more talking, I just want you to love me one more night." I won't ask you to go or stay anymore, I promise."

"Who is this Jeffery fella to you?" I ask, somehow knowing that my simple question doesn't have a simple answer. "He's everything and nothing."

"What Jeff and I share is not some transient secret office affair. Ours is a heartbreaking love story that spans half of my life."

"tears flow freely again. I think I just found the one other person in New York who's perhaps even more broken than me."

"Nothing you can say will make me not want you. We didn't meet by chance, we've been through hell trying to find each other. I wouldn't feel what I'm feeling if this wasn't predestined."

"Sara, in this life, you can only control your actions and reactions, you can't always help the people around you. You can try, and I did try, but some people can't be saved."

"Sara, If I accidentally like you more that I should, would you allow me to keep you?"
"Karma doesn't disappoints, karma always delivers..."

"Stop asking me to fuck you because I won't. I need to love you, and you need to let me love you. Your secrets and dibs don't define you. I want you, Sara, and you need to stop pretending you don't want me to love you."

"Liam, I want you more than anything I've ever wanted in my life, but I'm petrified because I know I don't deserve you. I don't want to cause you more pain, but I do need you, I need you so much. I don't have anybody, I only have you."

"I'd marry you. Please don't say awful rubbish about the woman I and every other bloke in New York would be fortunate to call his wife."

"My body is leaving her but my heart is already long gone."

"That was the day I lost everything. Everything I thought was rightfully mine, was only an illusions. It's the part of my story where things got interesting and where I should've let my best friend tell me to run and never look back."

"It was a dream, but it wasn't meant ti be my dream."

"Then you and I will have a lifetime to be together."

"Sara, I love you." he said "I will always choose you, but this is different. This isn't about making a choice, it's about doing the right thing."

"He made love to me that day for hours, promising me paradise with every kiss, every trusting word. It all made perfect sense when he explained it. He would marry Jacqueline, take care of her, and give her a few beautiful memories while I went to school. Once I finished, we would pick up where we left off. It was a brilliant plan. He just didn't take into account that I was the girl dying inside, not Jacqueline."

"I would pretend that it was great news but I was fading; her living meant us dying. I'm not a monster, I didn't want the poor girl to die; she went through so much."

"Two fools who loved each other too much to stop and think about the consequences made those two beautiful kids.'

"The problem was, as he was trying to do the right thing and be a good guy, I believe he fell in love with her too."

"I finally understand that there isn't always a clear winner or loser when it comes to matters of the heart. Love sometimes annihilates all involved and everybody loses."

"I'm about to leave when the man turns slightly to look at the girl by his side and my heart withers when I see him."

"My heart. My poor heart, my poor stupid heart, my poor stupid worthless heart will never know love."

"The bottom line is I'm in love with Sara Klein; she just doesn't know it."

"He was in a peculiar relationship with my vagina."

Narrated by: Erin Mallon, Cooper North, Sebastian Fields
Length: 9 hrs and 29 mins
Release Date: 06-13-16
Publisher: Tali Alexander Books Inc.
Writing style: Dual POVs
Cover, chapter header and break designs: ★★★★☆ Great visual design choices all around! This 2nd novel’s cover has a similar color scheme to the 1st novel but is slightly darker, subtly hinting at the darkness to come in the story. I like how the position of the cover model indicates her vulnerability. It also foreshadows how London will play a role in her story while cleverly alluding visually to the heroine’s future attachment to the British hero.

The chapter design heading with a nice cursive font style is a cassette tape, perfect for the eighties song titles that indicate the upcoming mood in the scenes. There is also a city location sub-header when needed and another sub-heading indicating the character POV for each chapter.

The chapter break design is a mini image of a cassette tape, and there’s a cool musical transition for the audiobook format.

Of special note: the song references are hyperlinked for a reader’s reference if they want to check out the music. The link will take you to the author’s website where you’ll find an iTunes buy link and an Audio Fools page that lists all the songs (on a cool cassette tape design that changes with each song title) featured in the series organized by novel. Overall, these design and graphics choices combined in a really cool way, giving the book a little extra pizzazz.

Isabella - Liam’s deceased sister

Erin Mallon’s and Cooper North’s Performances: ★★★★★

Erin Mallon is one of my favorite female narrators who always brings the appropriate pathos to any character she narrates. Here she only does the female characters’ narrative and dialogue, giving each one a distinct personality with a change in her vocals. Cooper North is a new-to-me narrator who was excellent at switching from a British accent to an American one as called for as he animated the male characters’ narrative and dialogue.

The two narrators sound great when the live dialogue is put together. I’d never heard an audiobook with dual gender specific live dialogue narration before listening to Love in Rewind (Audio Fools #1), and I’ve now become a big fan of this style. What I love most about this method is you don’t have to suffer through a narrator who sounds ridiculous or stereotypical doing the opposite gender’s dialogue.
•*¨*•
Sebastian Fields’s Performance: ★★★★☆

Sebastian Fields reprised his role as Louis, and he does a great job giving Louis Bruel’s voice weight and more maturity.
•*¨*•
Overall rating: ★★★★☆

Sara and Liam both pined for lovers who were married. Cheating tropes are a negative trigger for me, so I felt very conflicted about them. I continued with the Audio Fools series because I loved the quirky habit the two female best friends, Emily and Sara, had of communicating their emotional state via eighties song titles. I used to do something similar when I was their age, so I loved all the nostalgic song references. But normally, I would not eagerly read a novel with any real degree of cheating as a defining element.

Sara in particular was a confusing character who projected an image of herself that was mostly a façade. Liam, motivated by revenge for his deceased sister, Isabella, sought out to destroy Louis Bruel via his wife Emily. One thing led to another and Sara and Liam met because of his returning presence in Emily’s life. Being the best friend and savvy lawyer that she is, Sara, as Emily’s best friend, equipped with her lawyer skills, decided to find out why Liam was so determined to disrupt Emily’s marriage. During the course of her investigation, she and Liam opened up to one another in an intimate setting, quickly discovering how they each had a history that led them to now have more in common than expected. But Sara’s past was still part of her present, so things don’t fall into place for these two potential lovers until much later in the story.

Overall, I liked the story’s arc and felt the setting and song title references really set a good tone for fast intimacy and the beginnings of a deeper connection between Sara and Liam. The dialogue was often frank. The sexy times were hot. And the reflective inner monologue each character had was in line with information they knew at the time. There was also a suspenseful element to this story with plenty of flashbacks revealing new details about Sara’s, Liam's and Isabella's pasts. Often when I thought I knew what would happen next, I was proven wrong. The longer period of time that eventually ends the novel was another element I liked. And that ending, ack! Luckily, there won’t be a long wait for the final novel in the series.

One of my favorite humorous quotes:
“This is nothing compared to what Richard and I plan to do to you and kitty. Everything about you drives me mad. I reckon we may both need a good will because we may just kill each other,” he declares with a grin.

Coming up next in the series is Lost in Rewind (Audio Fools, #3) with an expected e-book release date of September 1, 2016. The audiobook release date status has yet to be announced, but I’ll be doing another dual format read at that time.

I just finished this beauty last night. And, wow. Before I say anything, you should keep in mind this is an erotic romance. If you don't like that kind of thing, this book is not for you.

With that said, I must say, Tali Alexander has outdone herself. She is just beginning her writing career - first with Love in Rewind and now with this and she is amazing!

A lot of people have hated this book for the same reason that I love it - the people are flawed. Some have disliked Sara (the main character. Aka, Emily Bruel's best friend from the 1st book) and her story and how many mistakes she's made. But that's part of life. People make mistakes. People get on the wrong path and have no freaking clue how to right themselves again. I feel like that's what happened with Sara. Her life was severely messed up and she made many, many mistakes. Could she have made changes and better choices? Yes. Could she have left Jeffery Rossi and started a new life? Yes. But no one wants to read about characters that are perfect.

Sara is a damaged girl who blinked and realized she'd been living a lie for over 14 years. Then she meets Liam Knight- a man she's supposed to loathe - and she realizes that he may be the only person she can be honest with. She rewinds her lies and opens up to Liam. She begins to let go of 14+ years of pain and lies which makes room for something else - LOVE!

Sara is the opposite of perfection. She is flawed, broken, and falling apart when she meets her "Knight" in Shining Armor but she is a character that everyone can either relate to or empathize with. As I said in my review of Love in Rewind, nobody is perfect but everybody is perfect to somebody. That's who Sara is to Liam Knight. She is perfectly imperfect and that's perfect to him.

If my review is completely confusing you, read this book and you'll understand what I mean. You will cry. You will laugh. Your heart will break. You'll scream and throw stuff. But you'll be better off for it. I can promise you that.

10 "Broken Ballerina" stars!!!

WOW! WOW! WOOOOOOW!!! This book. It's going in my Top 5 of 2016 for sure!!

It has been quite some time since I've read the first book, Love in Rewind but that doesn't matter one bit because it all comes back to you as you read Lies in Rewind. Thank goodness for that!

This fucking book blew me away!! I had no clue what I was walking into! Lies in Rewind is a whole new box of worms let me tell you! I laughed, cried, cheered, got pissed off, laughed again and then my little heart was shattered on the floor when it was all said and done.

I haven't the slightest idea what I will do with myself until September 1st when the last book in the trilogy will be released. I NEED to know what happens next? Like frickin' YESTERDAY!!!!

Every other review tells you a bit about all of the characters in Lies in Rewind so I've decided to just give you my thoughts and feelings and leave it at that.

Oh! And also it has the best _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ EVER!!! #justsayin #the80srock

OK. I thought Love in Rewind was great but holy crap. Tali totally kicked it up a notch with Lies in Rewind. It was fantastic!!! Wow. Tali you have outdone yourself with this one.

The roller coaster of emotions, the writing, the plot, the alternating points of view, the characters. Tali did an excellent job on every single part of this book. And I know I am showing a lot of enthusiasm here. But I mean it. She really did.

I have to mention Liam. I absolutely loved him. He is so sweet and adorable. I loved the way he spoke- he isn’t American and I loved the words he used. I loved just everything about him.

Once again, Tali nailed the use of songs throughout the book. Nailed it perfectly. And the sex scenes. They are off the charts hot. Like seriously. Holy hell girl.

And can we discuss the ending??? Oh my god. Tali!! You are killing me!!!!!! I need Book 3 NOW!!!! Holy shit woman!!!!

Tali has a great future ahead of her. I can’t wait to see what it brings her!

In the meantime, go one click Lies in Rewind NOW and I am going to bug her to find out when Book 3 will be out.

So let me start off by saying that I have been dying for this book to release. Tali Alexander has an amazing talent in my eyes and waited so long for this story to come out so none the less it would be PERFECT.

We all have secrets and Sara is no different. Her secrets lies deep within. Having loved one man her entire life only to find out that he was never hers to love and will never be. So her journey begins with the web of lies she is forced to live.

Liam Knight wants revenge but at who's cost? He has hated Louis Bruel for many years and has waited for the perfect moment in seeking that revenge. When Sarah and Liam meet everything is not as perfect as rainbows and unicorns. Oh no! When each are holding on to stuff from the past and lies start to unwind around them only then do you see the beauty.

I LOVED LOVED this book! Amazing job Tali!

I was reading this book with my laptop open so I could listen to music Tali mentions in this book. I freaking loved it!
Sometimes is easier to express yourself with music, but I never read a book that has a perfect blend of music and words.
Do yourself a favor, and read the first one If you haven't already.
I liked Sara in the first book, but I loved her more in this one.
Music is actually just cherry on top, because this read is altogether brilliant and unforgettable.
Dear Tali, please keep writing. I can't wait for book 3 in Audio Fools series.

ok I went the unconventional route and read book 2 before book 1 and loved this book. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone with details. I will say that I loved this book! Love Sara...Love William! Smiles, heartbreak and new beginnings! If you loved book 1 you NEED to read book 2.

So I wasn't sure how I was going to react to this read. Before reading Lies in Rewind all I knew about Sara was that she was Emily's best friend who was also sleeping with a man who was in a committed relationship. Sara was definitely not my favourite character to read about but she was human and I liked that about her. She made mistakes but in the end she was able to become a better person!

We meet William Knight at the end of Love in Rewind.Liam was there for Emily when she ran away from Louis. He goes to New York because he believes that he is in love with Emily. Liam believes that Louis does not deserve Emily. He judges Louis based on his past relationship with his Sister, who passed away. He thinks that Louis doesn't really love Emily and that he is a cheater.

Honestly if you don't read the first book you will be very confused in my opinion. This technically can be read as a standalone but it is better to have all the information.

When Sara and Liam meet at a hotel she trusts him with her many secrets. They are both broken people with a lot of baggage. Most of the book was set with them in their hotel room together talking and there was lots of sexual tension.

I liked that Sara was always upfront with Liam and didn't try to hide her flaws from him. I wouldn't say that I love Sara but I now understand her. Some things that came out about her and Jeffrey' relationship really made me want to scream.
This book really isn't a walk in the park real like shit happens and its not always fun but there is always the light at the end of the tunnel.

I wasn't sure if I could believe that Sara could love anyone else after finding out all I did about her and Jeff's relationship but Tali really made me feel like Jeff wasn't the love for but a love for her. You could really see the difference in both relationships!

I liked that Sara told her story again from her point of view. This really helped me to understand some of her decisions.

My favourite part of this book was the epilogue. Liam's proposal was the best, all those songs from the 80's all together was so beautiful and personal to Sara.

Love it can be such a JAGGED LITTLE PILL and boy can it make us a BASKET CASE.
For Sara Klein, her whole life has been nothing but Lies, SWEET LITTLE LIES. The one and only man she has ever loved but could never have is TEARING UP MY HEART. He is also the only other person who knows her SECRET. She pleads for him to QUIT PLAYING GAMES WITH MY HEART but he always wants her to STAY. After years of GETTING JIGGY WIT IT, she realizes that SOMETIMES LOVE JUST AIN’T ENOUGH and her heart knows that THAT’S THE WAY LOVE GOES. STEP BY STEP she decides it is time for her to move on. The last thing she expected was William Liam Knight to CRASH INTO ME.
William Liam Knight is on a mission, to save Emily from a life of pain and heartache that he believes Louis will continue to cause her and he refuses to watch that happen again, he wants to be her HERO. All too soon he sees that Emily will only be JUST A FRIEND and that he has come to THE END OF THE ROAD where she is concerned. Then BOOM BOOM BOOM, Sara enters his life and it leaves him thinking HOW DO YOU TALK TO AN ANGEL?
Becoming unlikely friends and confidants and a little more, Sara finds that Liam has become her PERSONAL JESUS. Aside from his sexy accent, she finds herself LOST IN YOUR EYES and it makes her want to JUMP AROUND. MR. LOVERMAN takes things SLOW AND SEXY and it is just the SEXUAL HEALING she needs and it is BOOMBASTIC.
I loved the struggles that both Liam and Sara have to deal with. They each have their personal demons they need to sort out but to the NAKED EYE the both seemed to live a SEMI-CHARMED LIFE. Their chemistry, it was like ALL I WANN DO is BUMP N’ GRIND you SEXY MOTHER F. *fansselfoff* The push and pull throughout the story was endearing but at the same time heart breaking. I loved the flashbacks. To see and experience her past and being able to feel the excitement, the anticipation, the hurt and the guilt it was like QUIT PLAYING GAMES WITH MY HEART.
Sara is an amazing lawyer and friend, beautiful and smart and witty. She will FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT(s) when it comes to others but when it comes to herself it is just a NEVER ENDING STORY of let downs and heartache.
Liam, oh Liam. He truly wears his heart on his sleeve. He is handsome, smart, determined and he is definitely GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT. I loved his compassion and his willingness to listen to a complete stranger with an open invitation to just HOLD ONTO ME.

Tali Alexander has given us another UNFORGETTABLE story. It is a TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART!
The story flows with ease, the characters are wonderful and completely relatable.
Liam and Sara completely TURN THE BEAT AROUND and not only will it be KILLING YOU SOFTLY but their story will leave you BREATHLESS and it will bring out all of your SWEET EMOTIONS.

Please remember this are fictional characters and here on our page we do not approved of cheating. With that being said let me tell you about Sara Klein, she has been best friends with Emily Bruel since they were babies. But that didn't stop Sara from keeping her true self from her best friend. She lived in a whole new world that she fabricated with lies and deception, something she learned from her "perfect" parents.

Being in love with Jeff since she was fifteen years old and loosing her virginity at eighteen to him she believed everything he told her, even keeping her as his little dirty secret and becoming his mistress after he married someone else. Sara knows she has gone too far with Jeff and eventually she must severed all ties to him, but that is easier said than done since he has something they both dreamed of having together.

William "Liam" Knight has been plotting revenged on his sister's suicide to Louis and Emily Bruel but when life puts her in his path he did something he can't forget. Now he's been in NYC waiting for her to give him a sign to rescued her from her husband. However his idea of how she has been treated by her loving husband is nothing but a misunderstanding and unfortunate situation.

When fate brings this two broken souls together they will start by trying to expelled one another dirty little secret, but as they spend hours together they figured they are meant to be. Can they be happy together knowing Jeff will always have some hold on Sara?

They are so many mixed feeling you will go through while reading this book. Anger, deception, sorrow, pain, are a few of the emotions you will encounter with this story.

I need to find out how the end of this twisted saga between Sara, Liam and Jeff. The story will have you loving Sara one minute and disliking her the next as well as Liam, but the one that I really have a problem is Jeff. So let's see next installment how this plays out when is his turned to tell his story.

I so so so looked forward to this book, in book one I just loved Sarah and couldn’t wait to read her story. Sarah was not at all who I thought she was but she did a great job at hiding who she truly was even from her best friend Emily. But her real pain…I felt all of it, her hidden life was so out of control. But I wanted everything to work itself out for her, she deserved happiness. I wasn’t so sure about William (Liam) in book one, I knew he had to be up to something but I just didn’t know what. With the ending the way that it was in book-one I was ready to figure him out. Sarah and Liam’s story is unique and although I enjoyed book one I liked this one so much more. The writing, the story, and the music is so perfect and I highly suggest this series.

Tali’s books have been so enjoyable to read, the music was unique, and they’re packed full of intense emotions. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, and more from Tali.

Lies in Rewind is the second book in the Audio Fools series by Tali Alexander. I read the first book Love In Rewind a few months ago and really enjoyed it. However, I was a little disappointed in this one. The story didn't pull me in and I really struggled to like the main characters, Sara and William. I appreciated that they were both flawed, they weren't the perfect characters in many books. However, I just couldn't connect to either of them. William was, in all honesty, creepy! He was a bit of a stalker when it came to Emily, and for me that just isn't an attractive quality. The way 80s music is intertwined into the books are still definitely my favoruite parts!! They add originality to the story!

I got a copy of this audio book for an honest review.
I loved listing to this book. I loved getting to know more of Sarah. I loved that we thought we knew her from book one but there was so much more about her that we had no idea of. She has a bit of love life issues. She has Jeff her long time guy she has slept with and Liam the new guy that she can have a clean start with. Who and how does she choose?
I love that the 80's music plays a part in the emotions. It helps understand the characters because everyone is familiar with the song by just hearing the title and we know exactly how the characters feel.
The narrators did a great job!!!!!!
This is a book 2 in the series. It can be a stand alone but I recommend listening to book 1 first. If you haven't read book 1 yet then I recommend you go back and see how this series started to get a better understanding of all the charters involved. I can't wait to learn more about these characters because im not ready to leave them yet.

There are fairytales which is what we kind of got in Love in Rewind then there is the bad luck that Sarah and Liam get. And I believe in both. Some people just get lucky and stay lucky, while others have to wallow in their own misery and just go on with life not being happy. But like Liam and Sarah’s encounter, anything can happen in a few hours and you can have a connection with someone in a really short amount of time that means more than the years you have known others. And once again with this book everything just seemed so realistic. It may be fiction but both of these books have been some of the most realistic ones I have read. I really hope that whatever happens in the next book shows Sarah and Liam getting a happy ending, we all know they deserve it.

In Lies in Rewind we got to see different sides of the characters especially Emily's BFF, Sara. She shows us her vulnerable side which I think we all knew she had but was just waiting for her to finally break. However she shows us just how strong she can be, dont let her full you because she shows us a little more. We also get to see more of Liam who is so hot with his british accent. He's back and he's ready to stake his love for Emily or so he thinks. This book is an amazing read, Tali Alexaner has wowed us again. It's fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. You get angry, you get sad, you are on an emotional rollercoaster ride with the characters as their Lies unravel. This is def a must read for 2015. I highly recommend reading this series and can't wait for the third book to be released!!

Lies In Rewind

I came across the first book by accident and I loved it. Now book two is here and it's even better then book one. Sara has been liar all her life and her lies are starting to catch up with her. Everyone leaves Liam but for the first time he walks away from Sara. This book continues Emily and Louise's story, but also you see what Sara's life was like. You learn lots of love, friendship, and trusts in this book. It is a great read, can't wait for book three.

I love reading Sara's story from her POV.
I was curious about her in LOVE IN REWIND and she sure has stood up to my every expectations!
"Broken ballerina" with so much strength... I adore her!
I know the feeling of regret old decisions, that is why she's been under my skin from the first book and now, through the second.
Can't wait for the third one :-)

I didn't think Tali would be able to top Love in Rewind, but she did. Lies in Rewind is an emotional rollercoaster, much like Love in Rewind, but the characters are so different there's really no comparison. Liam and Sara are perfection. I love Sara's heartbreaking story more than I ever thought I would. I cannot wait for Lost in Rewind (Jeffery's story).

**Warning: By its nature, this book review will contain spoilers for the first book in this series (“Love in Rewind”). If you have not yet read that book, please consider reading it before reading this review. Thank you.**
I began reading this book on the tails of finishing book one in this series (“Love in Rewind)” and after a bit of a cliff-hanger segueing into this - book two of the series, I could hardly wait to begin reading! I was not disappointed!
This book should not be read as a stand-alone! Yes, it’s about a different couple - but the couple from the first book figure heavily into this one and the stories are intertwined to the extent that if you read this one by itself, you would miss out on a lot of the back-story.
This book is about Sara, Emily’s best friend (Emily is the main female character from book one) who is Emily’s wild-child bestie. Or is she? She’s back in New York after her divorce from the British jerk she was married to in London and is trying to find her footing in her world.
And it’s also about Liam, Emily’s new friend from the resort in St. Lucia who both became the shoulder she cried upon when she felt it was necessary to escape from her life for a little while, as well as also the man who brought her safely back home to New York when her husband’s health necessitated her return. He has, since seeing her home, patiently waited in New York, wanting to talk with her about her husband. When book one came to an end, he was still in New York waiting for this opportunity and doesn’t want to go home without fulfilling his mission of warning Emily about Louis, her husband.
Liam is obsessed with the idea of talking to Emily and has quite the crush on her. He hates her husband and is completely sure he’s the devil incarnate when it comes to women. He knows Louis was involved in some way with his sister’s suicide and he’s desperately worried he’s going to cause Emily harm too – so he’s staying put until he can explain to Emily what a dog her husband really is (he’s wrong, by the way, as we’ve already learned toward the end of the first book, but Liam is unaware of all of the facts as of yet). So he waits.
And Sara, determined to get Liam off Emily’s back and get him gone, coerces Liam into meeting her. She’s temporarily staying in one of Emily and Louis’s apartments and gets Liam to agree to meet her in a bit of an underhanded way. But she’s doing everything out of love and concern for Emily and feels that once Liam knows the truth, and understands that Louis is really a great guy and takes wonderful care of Emily, that he’ll go back to wherever he came from and leave her bestie alone once and for all.
But you know what they say about the best-laid plans. This book is one of those books that shreds the best-laid plans all to hell. And it did it deliciously!
I found myself loving Liam. Yeah, so he hates Louis, whatever. For a while when I was reading the first book, I wasn’t Louis’ biggest fan either. This guy’s last name is Knight – the author named him well. He wanted so much to do the right thing, to protect first his sister, then Emily, and eventually, Sara from the hurtful things in this world. He made my heart just melt. Plus the way he’s described physically, like a multi-toned-blond haired, built, surfer-type guy made me perk up and lust after this man. He’s a really good guy, but he’s been misinformed of some things and they make him feel like he needs to protect people as a result. You can’t blame a guy for wanting to do the right thing overall.
And Sara, we really get to know her much better in this book. The things she says; the things that make it seem like she really gets around and makes her sound like a pretty free and easy gal – well, that might not have been the entire story. She’s had this thing with a guy named Jeffrey (as we learned from the first book) and he’d been involved in her life sexually for years (since she was a teenager). She is completely focused on this guy, and yet she knows it’s not healthy for her. He’s got a wife, he’s got kids; she needs to find her own life and move on. But don’t judge her here; all is not as it seems and as this book progresses, we learn there is more to this story than we might first believe.
When Liam and Sara first meet; well, let’s just say it was under kind of bizarre circumstances. But once she realizes this man is Liam, Emily’s friend, she relaxes a bit and they begin to talk (after her first having a bit of a fit, but that’s another story). In any case, once they begin talking, she realizes he really is a good guy who is trying to do the right thing. Yes, he has a crush on her best friend. But he’s not out to hurt her like she had first thought, he wants to protect her from someone he honestly feels is a threat to Emily’s well-being. But as he talks, Sara cannot help but feel a pull toward this amazing man. She finds herself wanting to talk with him, to unload all of the secrets and lies she has wound around her life onto his strong shoulders and he finds he wants the same. He wants to help her. He wants to get to know her better. He finds himself genuinely liking Sara for Sara’s sake, not just as Emily’s best friend. And as he relaxes into their conversations, he finds he feels he can trust her too. It’s almost like they are the only two people in their own little bubble after a while, finding another person in this world who really likes the other and they establish a relationship that is only between the two of them. It was actually a bit magical to read.
Sara decides that this might be someone who can help her break the hold Jeffrey has on her and help her be ready to move on with her life…
…”Liam, could you and I fuck, please?” His eyes spring open and I can see him attempt to figure out if this is a trap or a joke. “Relax, there’s no catch. This will be just between us. You have nothing to worry about because no one will ever know. I need you to do this, it’s important to me.” I aim to be semi-businesslike with my proposition because I need a willing participant. He, however, doesn’t take me very seriously and starts cracking up. I mean, full-on laughing with his mouth open and all. Great, this is the first man besides Jeff that I truly want a sexual relationship with and he laughs at me….He stops laughing and shakes his head from side to side. “This Jeffrey fucker did a real number on you...I’m lucid and you’re not plastered; therefore, I, Liam, want to fuck you, Sara, so help me God.” “Is that the vow for fucking these days?” I ask with a smirk. “Yes, my cock just wrote you a vow to make it official, isn’t that romantic?”…
I honestly love the way these two talk with each other. The majority of this book is written while they remain in their bubble and open their hearts and dare I say it, souls, to one another. My heart melted from each one of their stories; things from their pasts that caused them to have almost stopped the living the lives they are meant to live - they each needed a jump-start and chose each other to fill that void in their lives.
But then the real world literally came crashing in and there were some serious misunderstandings and their bubble popped. Liam thought he wasn’t wanted anymore and Sara thought he no longer wanted her.
Of course, this could not be the end of the story, right? As I said, they each needed a jump-start to get back to their lives and in that regard, this bubble-time worked for each of them. It helped him heal, it helped her realize what she really wanted out of her life. But once there’s a bond between the souls of two people, it never really goes away.
They each yearn for one another. They try to live their lives without the other, but fate steps in and…well, you’ll just need to read this book to see what happens next.
A word of warning, Liam is very British and so is his speech. I found myself pulling out my British-slang app (it’s free on my iPhone and really helpful for when I read books with British slang or terms in them, by the way) on more than one occasion to see what the heck Liam was saying. Most of it was easy enough to figure out from context, but there were a few sayings I wanted to make sure I knew what he was talking about (and as a result, I’ve learned several new terms I might just use – for instance, “tits up” means gone wrong. Hmm, yeah, I’m thinking that one might be pretty fun to use). This is in no way a complaint – I enjoyed his interesting and fun aspect of this book!
This book also continues to have the links buried within the story to 80’s song titles (as book one in this series initiated) that are used as a “code” between Sara and Emily – and even Liam gets into the groove of communicating this way on a couple of occasions.
I enjoyed this book. And I thought it was wrapping up nicely – then I got to the last four paragraphs in this book and found another cliff-hanger!!! Argh! (And don’t, for the goodness sakes, cheat and read the last four paragraphs in this book first, it would make no sense to you until you’ve read most of this story!) The third book is not slated to release until sometime in 2016 and I will say with complete honesty that I can hardly wait for the third book to discover what is going to happen next! I enjoyed this book very much (minus the cliff-hanger, but that’s just me!). I hope you enjoy it every bit as much as I did!
