"Ye’ll never have me! Ye’ll never control me! To Hell with ye, Brady Kelly!" Violet Ryan, daughter of wealthy shipwright CEO, has a dream to one day take over the family empire. While business is at the forefront of her ambition, she yearns for an existence where love and finance can live in harmony. However, when Ryan’s Shipwrights merge with Kelly and Son’s, it seems like the perfect arrangement for everyone, until Sean Kelly is murdered in cold blood. Brady, the new Lord of Kelly’s keep is beside himself with grief, rage, and immense inner torment. Having only just recently lost his mother, he now has to deal with the tremendous loss of the father he had only just begun to know. Seeking vengeance and retaliation, Brady does the only thing he can do. He abducts the tantalizing and sensual daughter of his named killer, Robert Ryan. No longer recognizing the monster who has taken her captive as the kind, considerate and attentive Brady Kelly who catered to her every need when she first arrived in Galway, she will have to learn to live with him. Although he’s transformed into a savage beast with a quick temper, uncontrolled emotions, and unpredictable punishments, Violet vows to persevere. Deadly attraction. While living as Brady’s captive is challenging enough, the last thing Violet needs is her heart getting in the way. She will need to dig deep within herself in order to ride out the storm of emotion flooding her heart, and remember that within the beast, lives a man.
Tanya Benoit, who currently resides in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada is a laboratory analyst for a major mining company but has been putting pen to paper her entire life. Her enthusiasm for all things historical prompts her to create characters with many layers and place them in the past. Her family is originally from a small town – Lawn – on the Burin Peninsula, Newfoundland, but her ancestors hail from Ireland. The Stormy Encounters Series has truly become a labor of love…a means of exploration into her family’s history.
As I personally know the author, I picked up this 1st book in the Stormy Encounter series and found this book to be very colourful and descriptive from a first time author! I felt that I could feel what the characters were internally experiencing from the very first page and the scenery brought me somewhere new with each chapter. Personally I found the narrative to be too smutty for my taste, as it included BDSM. I hope this part of the review helps other readers connect with books they enjoy, no matter their tastes. If it weren’t for the smut I would go on to read the rest of the series but my -shy- self will stop there although I will still recommend the book to others!
This is another book that I didn't want to put down. Loved the stormy romance. This book is an easy read. I honestly can say, I didn't want the story to end. The love between the main characters - although they fought against it - is deep with passion. All you romantics out there, buy this book - you won't be disappointment. 5 star from me.
