She would like to sum up with this single thought: believe what you want about anything, even her. Beliefs are just thoughts you keep thinking. Whether you think you’re wrong or right, you’re right either way, so why should she care what’s written in her bio because we both know you just want a story that makes you feel. That’s the purpose of books or any form of entertainment. It’s to feel something. She hopes your emotions are kicked in the ass one way or another. If you like a character, she’s content. Breathe Out, the second installment of the Just Breathe Series by Martha Sweeney, was assigned to me for editing purposes. I am Martha's husband and author of The Harem, so my opinion is extremely bias. However, I feel no need to pretend to share feelings that aren't sincere, especially since Breathe Out is such a fantastic continuation of a story and characters that I've come to love dearly.
Emma Peterson, a twenty four year old orphan, entrepreneur, sexual deviant, strong, intelligent, independent, quiet, control freak, has desperately been clinging to the rules she created to protect herself ever since meeting Joe Covelli. Breathe Out finds Emma failing miserably to adhere to her prescribed list thanks to the persistent pursuit of Joe. Her denial, strong reactions, fear, hope, physical needs, and overall growth explode in this chapter of her life, but Emma and Joe aren't alone.
The other characters of Breathe Out are just as compelling and intriguing as Emma struggles with Joe's advances. They live and breathe as vividly through Emma's eyes as if they were dear friends in the reader's very own life. They provide a very powerful and dramatic backdrop for Emma's and Joe's courtship to paint over and hold the reader excitedly entranced with each page that's turned.
Another wonderful layer of enjoyment and believability in Martha Sweeney's masterpiece is the effective and intelligent use of geography, industry, human behavior, spirituality, sexuality, social commentary, cultural boundaries, belief structures and exploratory development. Martha has precisely composed Emma's life to reflect the growing pains of an inspirational lead character.

I'll be editing this as I collect my thoughts and highlights...
How in the world do I do this without giving away what happens after the cliffy from Breathe In? okay...I cant. So, without too much of what your going to enjoy, heres my thoughts on Breathe Out... ****SPOILERS****
Just WHOA.
If you have read Breathe In and are in love with Emma and Joe as much as I am, then I know you will be over the moon with Breathe Out!! I'm in a happy emotional clustercloud of giddy!!!! I can't believe how much Emma has grown with acceptance of herself and what she's been through. Joe, Joe....JOE!! I have loved Joe from day one. To say he has decided to show his balls through all of these chapters and become more demanding - In a fabulous way....makes me love him fiercely!!! It's SO GREAT to read a book where the two adults are not playing head games or dragging the other through manipulative behaviors. As two grown healthy, succesful and driven adults, we get to enjoy the REAL issue...A love story.
Soooo will Emma give into her rules for Joe...even as she seems let go of them one by one and doing without acknowledging it herself...a beautiful, fun and original erotica novel that doesn't have me cringing with used up one liners in the heat of their passion, which btw -is OVERWHELMING and intense. I LOVED how Joe and Emma have gotten SO comfortable and close with each other. The way they can communicate regarding any and all topics is fantastic! I want to just write this review as if I was talking to a girlfriend, I want to put all the BEST parts of the book down for reference and hope that you would agree as you read. We seem to do that when we love our books so much! I can't do that though, so I can tell you I ADORE that all of my FAV characters from Breathe In are in Breathe Out. There is much much more of Joe and Emma, without taking away from the group as as whole. I love it!! I can't wait for Just Breathe!!

This book went above and beyond all of my expectations! When I was reading Breathe In, I was so frustrated with Emma for not letting her guard down when it came to relationships. Joe is perfect for her! Will she break her rules for him? Breathe Out, is sexy, hot, and so incredibly steamy. If you don't like reading books with a lot of incredibly hot sex scenes, this might not be the book for you! ;) I LOVED every minute of this book. I got to discover so many new things about Emma, that made me understand her so much more. FINALLY she begins to let Joe in. She slowly starts to realize that she deserves true happiness, and maybe he is the one to give it to her. This is one of my favorite love stories. Yet, this book is so much more. It is about family, trust, forgiveness, and loyalty. Emma has such an incredible group of people that she surrounds herself with, and they are all so easy to relate to! I can't wait until I have more Joe, and I was so sad when I finished this book. It gave me a book hangover, in the best way!

As the story reveals more of Joe and Emma, I couldn’t help but to love even the little things about them. I learned to love their pain, their sadness, their happiness and do I say the L-word towards each other? It wasn’t really that obvious/directly stated but for me, it’s really the little things they do for one another. I was so amazed by the progress of each character and the way they handle things.
Joe and Emma---one of those couples that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I have been waiting for this book for months! This IS a sequel and the first one, Breathe In, left out in a massive cliffhanger!!
This picked up right where the first one ended and I loved it! Emma is still the stubborn independent we all know and it made me crazy!!! There were so many times I wanted to just shove her aside and take Joe for myself. Anyway, I am personally attached to this story because it takes place in the bay are, the beautiful place I grew up in, and it just speaks to my soul. Reading about familiar street names and places made me tear up. I absolutely love the friends Emma has surrounded herself with. They have their own lives but they are always one phone call away.
And JOE!!! Joe is just... AHH!!! I need that man in my life. Sometimes I wished he would put his foot down with some things but he is just a nice guy, so I can't really be mad at him.
I love the development between him and Emma. It's slow and deliberate but definitely there! I also loved how Emma's past and present met in this book. It shows how much this book isn't just about the explicit scenes but about the lives of two people coming together. Definitely adds a much needed depth to the success of a love story.
Like I said in my review for Breathe In, I love books that incorporate pets and Sadie makes me want a dog so much! I love how she adds even more humor to the story.
I only have a few negative things to talk about this. The first being, there are a bunch of misspelling errors and I felt myself not liking a scene because of them. The second, I felt the dirty talk became somewhat repetitive and I would've loved to have seen more diversity in their words. Other than that, I enjoyed this immensely.
If you haven't already deducted from the cover, this isn't a read for those under the age 18. This book went by too fast for me, even though it's huge, I just can't get enough of these characters! The ending was amazing, it had a little bit of everything. It was hilarious, heart-breaking, mysterious, shocking, and everything in between. I missed Jared and his one-on-one banter with Emma and I loved that it was incorporated into the ending too. It ends in a cliffy, AGAIN!!!, but I don't mind. Much. It makes me look forward to something and I can't want for Just Breathe. the story is getting so juicy!

OMFG!!! This book blew my expectations from where it left off from the first book, Breathe In. It's the cultivation of a TRUE LOVE Story (and I can't wait to see where it goes in the final book). Emma . . . Emma, Emma, Emma. It's so nice to meet more of you. It's like you've opened up to us, the reader, so much more in this book as well as with Joe. It makes more sense why you are the way you are and it looks like there's still more to be revealed. Joe . . . God, Joe. He's a gentleman in the streets and a kinky motherf*&ker in bed . . . Emma brings it out of him, but then again, he brings it out of her. The SEX scenes are mindblowing!!! Each time Joe and Emma get naked, it's like you're getting a bigger insight to their personalities and them as a couple. The secondary characters are loveable and I want more of all of them!!! Nainai and her love and wisdom. Sadie and her antics. Maggie and her bubbliness. Jared and his friendship. They're all awesome.
I laughed. I cried. I became extremely aroused. This book is a MUST READ ... but after you've read the first one, or else it won't make sense.

Wow this book was just what I wanted since I finished "Breathe In" more Emma and Joe and more of Emma's past! This book explains so much about Emma and helps the reader understand why she is so apprehensive about letting her walls down around people she doesn't trust. This book went above and beyond my expectations! I loved the character development Emma is going through; she is slowly letting her guard down around Joe and telling him more about herself and her past. The book also gives us a glimpse of Joe's and the rest of Emma's families live. I also loved how this book doesn’t only concentrate on the love story, but also shows the relationship both Emma and Joe have with their families and friends.
I really enjoyed this book it delivered everything I was looking for. If you have read the first book then let me tell you, you will not be disappointed and if you haven't picked it up and are looking for a hot read this is definitely the series for you! I can't wait to read the next book and learn about Emma, Joe, and of course the rest of the family!

I was beyond overjoyed to get Emma & Joe back in my hands! (: This story is so beautiful and it reminds me why I read. For a few minutes or a few hours a day I get to escape to this astonishing world Martha has created. I get to feel like this kind of love and this kind of man might be out there. I can't wait for book 3!!! I think it goes without saying that if you haven't gotten or read book 1 yet you need to do so. Then put up book 2 and join me on cloud 9!(;

This was pretty hot. I really do love the story of Emma and Joe. I like that there was a degree of sexual freedom, characters that were less than perfect, but still found a way to love.

Hot hot hot !!!!!
Gripped with Joe and Emma's story again from beginning to end and although like book 1 I found myself getting frustrated by Emma's rules the author is quick to remind you why she has the issues she has and although the relationship takes a big step forward there is still so many unanswered questions and i can't wait for just breathe (book 3) for them all to be answered ......hopefully!!! The chemistry is hot hot hot over al a big thumbs up
Gripped with Joe and Emma's story again from beginning to end and although like book 1 I found myself getting frustrated by Emma's rules the author is quick to remind you why she has the issues she has and although the relationship takes a big step forward there is still so many unanswered questions and i can't wait for just breathe (book 3) for them all to be answered ......hopefully!!! The chemistry is hot hot hot over al a big thumbs up

Woah!!! I liked this second installment even more than the first one!! I think that, for me, I had a hard time relating to Emma throughout Just Breathe, until the ending (no spoilers!)... So, once I was able to finally have that momemt when I clicked with her, it really enhanced the entire story for me heading into Breathe Out. And Joe is EVERYTHING you want in a book boyfriend and more!

Breathe Out is the second greatest novel that Martha Sweeney has so brilliantly written for her readers to enjoy. I don’t know how she does it, but once again she has captured readers to her novel like a moth to a flame. It’s hard to ignore when it’s so luring.
Breathe Out is part of a trilogy that readers won’t want to put down. The main female character Emma is back again and her struggles are just as sinfully entertaining as the first novel. Here, we see so much going on and how Emma has certain rules that must never be broken. Yet, dare she break two of them at once? Joe has way of making Emma question herself. I love how he so easily can break into her and turn her on light a light switch. Emma seems to do things that she doesn’t really think much about, but to Joe, he thinks he knows what Emma really wants. The real question is, does he really know what Emma wants? Also, readers’ hearts will be tugged at as Joe makes Emma feel things that she’s not ready to feel. Lust is beyond great but there’s more to Emma and Joe than Emma’s letting on. I love how beautifully written the story overall is put together. It’s hot, bold, and daring. Readers will be up all night long reading, as Joe keeps pecking away into Emma interior. And not just making her wetter than wet…
Martha Sweeney’s talent is raw, addictive, and masterfully done. It’s not just hot sex. I get more radiating from the characters and the fiery words. A real page turner and a writer, who knows how to write, exactly what her readers want or shall I say need? Breathe Out is a remarkable romance for all. I highly recommend it to readers worldwide. Once you read this…you’ll be begging for more. Overall, I rate Breathe Out a five out of five stars. Breathe In, Breathe Out, and Just Breathe…because the third and final sexy installment is out!

This book actually caught all my emotions! I felt everything! I was so bonded to the characters I miss them terribly already! What am I supposed to read now?!?
I bought this book within the same five minutes I finished the first. I have fallen so in love with the characters, it's maddening. Like with the first, Martha's book explores all the levels of love; friendship, romance, brotherhood, sisterhood, maternal! Even the love between Joe and Emma is so profound. They don't just share a physical bond, they share a soul tie that is actually healthy, sweet, endearing, and possitive. Speaking of physical though!!!!!! OMG I don't know how this writer manages to keep a book so steamy between the same two characters!!! You would think it would become monotonous or repetitive- UM NO! Their lovemaking is full of variety, and hottness! I want to know these people personally. I would read every book by this author and so far I have. I WILL be buying book three! Like the second it comes out. I even plan to buy the paperbacks because I just need to so I can have both the ebook and the hard copy. Martha is a drama free writer with heart and obvious talent and her books have been the make of my days. Reading time became my escape and I'm so glad I found her books. This needs to be a movie and by the way... You have to know what it is to be a part of Emma's family! I LOVE HER! FINALY a strong and independent female with spirit and wit and serious style. Speaking of style....Bunny Style is now officially a thing. A MUST READ!

I just LOVED Emma and Joe in this book! I really felt like it took on a deeper level than the previous book. Joe is just THE perfect guy! He has slowly weaseled his way into her life. Joe is a perfect complement to Emma. This book was just great! I really felt a closer connection with the characters… Emma is slow to warm up so give her some time. She’s had a tough go of it, it’ll be worth it!
With so many books out there it is so refreshing to read a book that doesn’t have all the silly games people tend to play. This is just two consenting adults who are living day by day and learning how to explore this new… relationship. Joe seems to be such a great guy and he seems to genuinely care for Emma. I’m just happy to see Emma relaxing a bit.
Martha Sweeney has written a beautifully NORMAL representation of what it’s like to fall in love. It’s not perfect, it’s not easy… but it’ll be worth it! The characters are so amazing in these books… I just adore Sadie! I want more from everyone. Sweeney definitely has this uncanny ability to pull you into a book and make you consume it!! It took me about a month to be able to read this and once I cracked it open, I was done within 24 hours! I just can’t put her books down! They are so original!
