I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Joey and Moose have been friends for a long time. Joey has always grown up around the MC and all the brothers have been like family to her. She gets paired up with Moose to be the maid of honor and best man for their best friends' wedding. This means they end up spending more time together than usual.

Even though they both feel sparks of attraction they don't want to run the risk of things going south and ruining the big wedding. But since they can't control what's happening between them they just do their best to keep it secret until after the event. Fate didn't agree and that didn't end up working out, but you'll have to read it to see what happens.

Joey has secrets of her own that she's keeping from Moose and her best friends. Her mom has an even bigger secret she's keeping from Joey. All of these secrets put not only Joey and Moose's relationship at risk but the entire club. While Joey is trying to figure out the best way to reveal her secrets and protect all those she cares about at the same time, the secrets are revealed by someone else. Which makes her look like a liar and only makes her situation with Moose ten times worse.

Moose has to decide if he loves Joey enough to forgive her and also if that love is worth risking his club brothers' safety over. I was rooting for Joey and Moose the whole time. They were both so stubborn and both had such loyalty to both each other and their loved ones. It's a difficult situation when those loyalties collide.

It would've been helpful to read the first book of this series, The Biker's Librarian, before this one but I hadn't. I'm definitely going to read it now and get the background on the MC and the other major characters. So even though I didn't read it in order I would suggest it to anyone else. There were times I was confused when there was talk about past dangers and relationships.

Shyla Colt always satisfies my MC hunger and this series is no exception!

This is the first book I have read by Shyla Colt. This is the second book in the series but most definitely can be read as a stand alone. Josephine aka Joey grew up with her mother raising her and she was always part of a MC. Joey jnew they lifestyle of bikers. Joey meets Moose because she is the maid of honor for her best friend and he is the best man.
Moose has learned the hard way that love doesn't come easy or for everyone.when Moose first laid eyes on Joey he knew he had to know her. Moose is scruffy, tough, mysterious but with Joey he is so much more. When the two of them are together they are explosive.
When a friendly MC group show interest in Joey, Moose doesn't take it well. Can secrets stayed buried for ever or will they cause problems for Joey and Moose?
I recommend this book and look forward to more from Shyla Colt.

Moose is very talented with his words, they even get me going, "damn, baby. I can feel your heat through our pants. Are you wet for me, Jo-Jo?" Joey brings out the animal in him, "her admission made him growl. “You felt that fire, didn’t you? Saw how much I wanted to eff you against any surface I could pin you to." Moose knows how to make light of a situation, "I don’t know what having me here will do, but you got me, babe.” He wrapped an arm around her waist. “Now show me where you grew up.” He leaned down and whispered into her ear, “If I’m a good boy, can we sneak away later to your room and christen it." I love this series and I'm always looking forward to the next book

OMG! Hold on to your panties ladies, we got a new alpha man in town and his name is Moose.
This is the story of Moose and JoJo and the story that turned into a beautiful HEA.
These two come together at an event and although they had some great time together, Moose wasn't about to stick around and try to do the whole relationship thing. He does as any free biker alpha does, he leaves and plans on not looking back. JoJo isn't so sure about that so she does what women have been doing for centuries, she decides to fight for her man.
These two have more than their share of ups and downs in this book, but damn, was it good. I was hooked from the get go and then the ending came and I was like no, no, no Moose, not this again. You can't, you just can't.
Thank god he didn't and instead of the barrage of sad tears I thought I was going to have became tears of joy and happiness. I found myself talking to Moose, if you just thought you were messed up before, just wait now big boy.

There's always a fine line when you pair two strong characters, in this case a dominant male and a very independent, sassy female, but the author did a great job walking that line and giving both characters the importance they deserved. Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
Loved, loved, loved this book!

5 stars to the wonderful author

This is the second book in the Lords Of Mayhem series and this is Joey and Moose’s story.

Josephine (Joey) and Moose have been attracted to each other since they first set eyes on each other but it isn’t until they are thrown together for Juliette and Shooter’s wedding, that they take things further. Being in close proximity has the pairing unable to rein in their lust for each other and they commence on a series of secret hook ups and no pressure to make it anything other than what it is. But then feelings get caught up in that plan and although both are shy of commitment, they also both know they can not let this ‘thing’ go.

I really loved this story from the onset and was instantly bought into Moose and Joey’s romance. I liked his hard-ass persona and his smouldering looks and Joey’s ballsy attitude, but it was how they interacted with each other, gradually learning to put a deep trust in each other and revealing their true inner feelings. The steamy hot passion was also an added bonus and must read scenes!

I had not read the first book in the series, The Biker’s Librarian, and although it states this book can be read as standalone, I would suggest that the new reader does read the books in order. I found myself lost in the sub plot scenes in regards to the threat to the club which was in relation to something that happened to Juliette in the first book as I did not know what and why they had happened. So this did detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. Not that this was a bad thing as I still loved everything else but this would probably have been a five star read if I had that prior knowledge.

Overall a definite must recommend MC read and I shall look forward to reading more from this author. Four Stars.

Ganhou uma estrela a mais porque foi o primeiro que teve a consideração de trocar os lençóis antes de transar com a heroína!!!! Aleluia!
"He wouldn’t fuck her on the same sheets as the last biker bunny."

Won one more star because he was the first hero who had the consideration to change the sheets before him have sex with heroin. Hallelujah!

From the moment they met Joey and Moose have been trying to ignore the sparks that flow between them whenever they're near each other. Tired of denying what they both want, they give in to the heat that's been passing between them only to realize that one night is not nearly enough . Are Moose and Joey in this for the long haul, or will secret pasts tear them apart?
Joey and Moose are enough to handle by themselves what with both of them having their own baggage that affects their views on relationships. But when you add in a past you never even new you had and future you didn't know you wanted, makes for a very interesting and entertaining journey to finding out were you truly belong. I enjoyed watching these two trying to figure out how they fit into each other's world and slowly but surely realizing that there is no other place that they would rather be than in each others arms. This definitely a 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me.

Enjoyable

WOW this is such a unique and awesome set of stories.This is what I call a wonderful story and it's so hauntingly beautiful. There is plenty of heart break and romance to go around, but the envy and twist alone with the sizzling hot passions make this fantastic reading. It's filled with awesome characters, that will make you wish for these two get their HEA? There is a lot more than what meets the eye in this book and nothing is what it seems, which makes this so exciting that I can't put my reader down. WOW! I must say I can't wait to read another extremely awesome book as this one is.

2 1/2 Stars - Enjoyed this second installment of the Lords of Mayhem more so than the first book. Moose and Joey were interesting characters in the last book and a great fit in their own book. The story drags in parts with scenes of the friends meant to move the story along but which slow the overall pace. There were more than a few inconsistencies in timeline or of something that happened earlier or in the last book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had not read the first in the series, but that did not leave me scrambling in any point of the book to figure out what was going on - there were enough details to fill it in for me.
The book is full of some serious spice - not that I mind! and content.
It was very well written and easy to read. I was able to read it very quickly without missing detail.
Most definitely would recommend this read to those who like the spice!

Big and Burly

Moose just wasn't the forever kind until Joey arrived. Her snarky comments and her undying devotion became too much for him. The blowback from Peter Stant's craziness opened his eyes and heart. Jojo was everything Moose didn't know he needed or wanted. This is an amusing story about how motorcycles and love can fit together with lots of sex. Hurrah!

Wild is the word!

This was just fun and entertaining right out the gate. The writer gets it right with the grown up stuff. The chemistry between the main characters is effortless, that it just comes off naturally. This second go round has a little bit of something for everyone and you are so going to like it.

They are thrown together to plan a wedding for their friends. Neither of them expected the explosive chemistry that developed between them. He is a wonderer and Joey knows what club life did to her mother. Will these two find a compromise that both can live with and will it lead them to a happily ever after.

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Outstanding story of Moose & Joey finding what each declared they would never allow in their hearts and coming to realize it was exactly what each needed...each other. But before they reach their HEA, they deal with the distractions of physical passion and the demons of their pasts. Just as they begin to reach a peaceful balance between what was and what is, with issues of trust and commitment, Joey's mom hits her with a tidal wave of hidden secrets that completely alter their lives as well as both MC clubs. Barely recovering from this devastation, a new, dark threat emerges with treachery, forced imprisonment, a wall of flying bullets, blood and suspense so revetting one's heart beats double time! Don't miss this stunning love story.
~~~~~~~~~~Patricia's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

This MC book is about two damaged souls. Moose who was left taking care of his mother as she deteriorated over the years from a horrible disease. He swore he would never put a love one through all that so making a commitment was out of the question. Joey who was brought up by her mother never knowing who her father was just thought she would never find or let any one get close enough to her to go through all the hurt her mother went through. When Moose and Joey come together they swear there will be no way they will fall in love get married and have kids. When something happens in Joeys life and brings out a secret from her past how will she get through it? Then when an unexpected tragedy happens will it bring them all closer together or will it tear them apart? This was a fast pasted story through all the turns and emotional turmoil you could get.

A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.

When I say this is a fast paced book, I mean the author really just jumps right in. The two main characters, Joey and Moose, already know each other and bring their relationship to the bedroom pretty quickly. The characters are well developed and the scenery is pretty well set. This is an interesting twist to the typical MC book. Joey is not involved in a MC but she knows all about the lifestyle from her mom. She was raised by her single mom to be independent and free. Moose is on the council for the Lords of Mayhem MC. Speaking of Moose, he is one hot talking, dominant, alpha male who isn't afraid to speak his peace. For a dominant alpha male to find a balance with a fiercely independent female is tricky. Then add in the outside forces that just can't seem to keep out of their relationship and this makes for a very interesting story. The hot talking dominant sex scenes make me want to go back and read this one all over again.

This is the second book in the Lords of Mayhem series but can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the first installment yet and found this book to be very enjoyable but I want to go back and read the first one now. There is not a cliffhanger and this does have an HEA.

Joey and Moose are fascinating characters. Joey is the cool chick, the good girl with secrets even she does not know she has. She fits into the lifestyle making no demands on Moose. It is all in the name of good fun, but that can only go on so long, especially when feelings start to get involved. Joey handles it like a grown woman though, if she were my friend I would have thrown my fist up in pride. She makes Moose doubt himself and what he wants, which is his freedom. Of course he is the man right, so he does not want commitment, he wants to live free, blah, blah, only his brothers at his back.

Well bulls*%t, dude falls for Joey and goes hard for her despite the problems she brings to his MC because of her past. Moose is written extremely sexy, so why this is not a five star you ask.

There was more repetition than I wanted to read (personal opinion) I mean Moose, equaled commitment issue, got it and understood it. There is always something deep keeping the hero and heroine apart, but dude was kind of bitching about it too much.

On a side note Colt delivered on fantastic background characters and I would love if the series included a story on Joey’s mother and father, it is hard to find unique stories involving older characters who are realistic and hot, plus she has already wonderfully set the back-story up, no need to waste it.

Really want to do 3.5

The story begins with Joey and Moose meeting while having to be the bestman and maid of honor for there best friends wedding. Moose is not looking for anything serious just someone to pass the time. Joey knows all about the MC life and has promised herself she won't find herself in the same predicament her mom did years ago. Joey has to figure out how to deal with the secrets and lies she discovers throughout the story.
She is absolutely drawn in to the intensity of this sexy,dirty talking biker man and finds herself wanting him and falling into the life she didn't want for herself. Joey is by no means a pushover and do to the love of a single mother she learns how to love unconditionally. Moose is a dream who is so captivatingly alpha. But a damaged heart carries a lot of baggage. Once you begin reading, you can not put this book down.
This was a Emotional hot read. I love Shyla's books and her style of writing. I truly felt like I was are part of the book, you find yourself going through the emotions, you feel every touch, hear and smell everything. You are in the book, I love that!!
A Must have MC read!!!

Joey knows how MCs work. They have a set of rules they live by, so she knows how to interact with the men and women, but her Mom has made sure she has not lived that life. Her Mom is open minded but she does have her own secrets.

Meeting Moose was thrilling for Joey. They laugh, talk, kiss and so their relationship begins and all hell breaks loose. There's secrets, lies and betrayal, and all to keep someone safe, but when the secrets and lies are finally out, this brings danger for Joey and for Moose.

Joey has to figure out how to deal with the secrets and lies she has been told all her life. This begins her journey to finding forgiveness, love and healing.

Moose has got a bigger problem when Joey's life is tipped off balance. He wants to keep her safe and thinks he needs to walk away to do that, but when Joey's life is in danger, he refuses to walk away. Now he has to face the inevitable and find a way to keep her.

Loved how this story reflected all the feelings of being kept in the dark of the truth, having to face the truth, fight danger, survive and to be able to forgive and to love

One Wild Ride
Shyla Colt

Josephine is sassy and strong. Raised by a single mom who is an ex biker babe. The MC represents everything Joey doesn't want, or so she though until she meets Moose.

Moose is a hot biker who is determined to remain single, that is until he meets Joey. She is something special and even he can see that.

Joey's past catches up to her and throws Moose for a loop. Can their relationship survive it?

Ms. Colt has well developed characters that are relate-able. When the girls got together I felt like I could be one of them. Moose is hot and sexy and loves the dirty talk. I haven't read book 1, and don't think you would have to read it first, but it would definitely give you a little more background to this story. I would suggest reading it first. I enjoyed One Wild Ride and would recommend to anyone who likes MC books.

“I’m coming in you like that shit is crack, and I’m an addict.”

Oh man, Moose is one sexy beast. It made the book so much hotter to picture the cover model while reading. (Fanning self). Joey is a spit-fire. It is known from book one that her father is part of an MC, but mom said she wasn’t sure who he was. Well, we find out A LOT more about Joey’s lineage in this book and it is quite mind blowing for her. We also learn a bit about Moose’s past. These two are great together. The story is more than about just Joey and Moose though. Shooter and Juliette are planning their wedding and Juliette’s past is not done with her. There was one pretty predictable part, but all in all I really enjoyed this book. I see a lot of growth in the author between the first book of this series and this one. I give this book 4.5 stars with 4 hands down the pants and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
