The basic concept of this book is absolutely great. In his opening the author writes, "... The thought of making money at home in your shorts is intoxicating. Yet, many people never take the first step to making it happen. It isn’t because they don’t have the skill set, it is because they don’t know how or where to start..."

I couldn't agree more. People have all kinds of ideas, many of them excellent, they chat with their friends, everybody agrees that the idea is great, and then - nothing happens. That being said the flaw of this book is that it is not defined what exactly it is supposed to be:

1) a motivator?
2) an idea finder?
3) a manual how to bring your idea to fruition?

I can say with certainty that this book is not 3). While I am not sure about the possible execution of many of the "70 painless ways" for sure not every idea in this book is well presented and more importantly - presented correctly.

E.g. the author writes, " Sites like acx.com (owned by amazon) allow you to take your books and turn them into audio books. So now, your one kindle book, is now making money for you three separate ways. Can you beat that? Sign up to the website and get started. ACX does run a bit differently. It will give you options to record your book in your own voice, or have someone do it for you with different royalty structures depending on what you choose..."

Being an author who has looked into producing audio books and has visited sound studios many times (when working in the movie industry) I can say with certainty, "It ain't that easy!" Yes, you can have your book recorded by a professional artist buy that's going to cost ,more than $5.00 (no mentioning of investment in the above paragraph). If you decide to record your book yourself, you need to have the right conditions to do so. Do you have the proper equipment and a sound proof location? Will you be able to edit the sound files, to edit out "breathers", "pauses", "mispronunciations," etc? Besides, there is a reason why people who do this professionally are called "voice talents." They have learned how to do it. In the competitive world of audio books a half-baked effort won't fly. For sure recording a book is not "making money for $5 or less."

Having elaborated on this topic, coming from a field which I happen to know well, this made me wonder, how many other "incomplete" presentations this book offers.

Therefore I come to the conclusion that this book is 1) a motivator? and 2) an idea finder?, two concepts that work very well.

If you are tired of your commute, read it; it may give you some great ideas.

This book is short but gives you plenty of ideas for ways to make money online. The author doesn't talk extensively about any one idea but does provide follow-up resources if something sounds exciting to you. He does a good job giving you the basics you need to know to evaluate if an idea sounds doable to you or not.
