I’ve been on a bit of a sports manga kick because of the Olympics and this one was a longer one that scratched that itch. Theres a bit of a power imbalance with the age gap & trainer/boxer relationship and I wasn’t a huge fan of how the seme, who is older, was “just playing with him” at first (even if he was just in denial, which is debatable) but I think their situations (uke’s background, seme’s eye injury) and the organic way the relationship grows kind of makes up for it. Seme’s personality is playful and uke’s is stoic, which is always a cute dynamic, esp if uke ends up being lewd behind closed doors which he is.
I like that in the later volumes they both deal with insecurities and jealousy, but uke is rock solid in his affection and desire to win for seme. I like that we get to see them both mature in the relationship despite seme being so much older. Theyre good for each other.
This very much feels like classic yaoi. Sus power dynamics. Dubcon (lots of nos that supposedly mean yes 🙄). It feels like pwp...I mean there is some plot I guess. I still liked it. I do like a secret crush on someone you admire trope. Not bad if you don't mind some red flag yaoi 😅😂🫣😏
