Ms. K Carr please stand up and take a bow. You have restored the faith I've lost in reading. You managed to fascinate me with your well written, detail and phenomenal book. My eyes beseech every words as if it have a sermon in it. Your writing is truly outstanding and I must commend you for composing such a sweet refined tale. It was so beautifully woven that it took my readers breathe away.
The story ensnared you from the very start. It sustained the right mixture of fluffiness and a fair bit of comedy and also poignancy in between. This is precisely the kind of book I like, in that it was well detailed, character development was on point, and factuality was even bit present. This is exemplary writing. It was also fairly hard-hitting, in that it dealt with abandonment issues and issues around identity (especially racial), anxiety (particularly social anxiety), controlling, the rich and poor bracket and family resentment.
I absolutely enjoy the way the author illustrates the weird and awkwardness of the heroine Ms. Madison Dumont. Madi or poppet which Matthew so affectionately calls her is one of the oddest characters I've ever encounter. No amount of explanation could properly express just how strange and clumsy she is. To be inside her head is an experience—an experience that I happened to slowly absorbed and loved.
And Matthew, if anyone ever had the delight of reading about Alpha Males -Matthew Bradley wears that crown, unapologetically. This man is simple amazing, knows what he's looking for, takes what he desires, says what's on his mind and have zero f@&ks to give. I just love him. His amusing brashness and frank appropriate way of dispensing with everything lies some extremely poignant truths. Matthew is rich, handsome, isn't afraid to conceal his wealth and very straightforward. His character felt authentic to me, and the fact I could empathise so strongly with the way he handles everything speaks volumes. Matthew would hypnotized you with his hotness, and the manner he claimed and branded Madi, makes you feel the remnants, leaving an imprint on your forehead.

Matthew and Madi eventually found what they're both looking for, in each other. And it adds a whole new layer of depth and melancholy beauty to the storyline. I fell in love with both Madison and Matthew from page one. Madi is shy, but ridiculously intelligent and talented and haunted by her parents unfortunate death, and then Mathew, is the strong man denying himself love because he's not ready to settle down yet until he ran into the undeniable beautiful Madison, though under terrible circumstances. This set the stage for the cusp of the storyline. It started a fiery, chaotic and whirlwind romance. It went on a fast, then slow enjoyable pace, less than normal in most Interracial romance, but it was so worth it. And so, so freaking pleasurable.
During the storyline Ive often empathized a lot with Madi on how much she felt out of sorts whenever she was around Matthew's family and friends. This is something new for her and anyone could relate to how much of an adjustment she had to make to fit into Matthew's world. She was concerned, she wouldn’t know where to sit/talk/dress and accidentally say and do something wrong whenever she was in his rich friends presence.
Being with Matthew unearthed a seed of re-evaluation for Madi. She fulminated her displeasure at first. However it eventually made her recognized then accepted that maybe she was scared and that maybe she was feeling an abandonment that had happened emotionally. Its a profoundly sad feeling in so many ways having to witness such snobbiness and yet you're rooting madly for these two. And I must say I throughly enjoy Matthew pursue of Madison.
This is one of those books that I appreciated much more than I imagined I would. The story touched my heart in many ways. I can't call up the last time I felt so attached to a book, that sucked out so much emotions as you turn the page. It’s superb, it’s a masterpiece—there’s no doubting that. The author did a stellar job of demonstrating Madi's Americanism and then she smoothly transitioned Matthew British lingo. That in itself is astonishing, the concept invigorating and illustrative. She did a terrific job of switching the two different cultures. That was just something Ive never seen done before it was so mind blowing.
This is a book to treasure. I love it, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Absolutely, unequivocally worth every penny!! Get this book and you will not regret it.
