This was a sexy, easy, quick read with some believable angst. A great second chance story, with just a bit of drama to keep things interesting without becoming too much with a sweet romantic ending.

My greatest achievement in life must be giving this book its first one star.

Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Dad is another great book for Lynne Marshall. She combines a true-to-life contemporary story with characters that could be your neighbors. It makes for a realistic read that is hard to put down. This story revolves around a father who didn't know he was one until his child was in his teens. He finds out after mother and child return to town for work. It leads to many interesting, romantic, and suspenseful moments. I always look forward to when the next book is to be released!

I always struggle with books where the heroine keeps a child secret, for various reasons, from the dad. I always wonder how the hero could forgive and therefore before I've started, I have misgivings about the Heroine. As i finished it, I still couldn't bring myself to warm to Julie. It was an ok read

The first book in the Cowboys, Doctors...Daddies miniseries is an emotionally rewarding romance of second chances. Lynne Marshall has written connected books about two brothers who were raised on a Wyoming ranch and later became doctors. One is a renowned cardiologist but the other has his own practice in the quaint town where he grew up. Putting duty before his own wishes, Dr. Trevor Montgomery has a good life but does not let any relationship get serious. When a woman he once knew comes back to Cattleman Bluff, they discover buried feelings quickly awaken and the resulting possibilities are much unexpected.
Though Julie Sterling had never wanted to return to her hometown of Cattleman Bluff, Wyoming, she decided it was the best option for her son, the one person who means everything to her. She has not lived there since becoming pregnant over thirteen years before, but now she is seeking employment with Trevor Montgomery, the very man who caused her to be a mother. Circumstances make it practical for Julie to live in her childhood home, and she really needs the job as a nurse practitioner to support her son. Working for the family doctor will pay her bills, but being around Trevor who does not know about his son will be difficult.
When Julie realizes the time to stop withholding the truth about their son has finally arrived, she gives the shocking news to Trevor. Though he certainly remembers her and the secret encounter they shared, he never imaged the incident had led to him being a father. Now he has the opportunity to make up for all the missed years as a parent, and perhaps have a future that he never expected.
The first time Trevor and Julie were together, they were young and not thinking about the consequences of their actions but are now much older and responsible. I could totally understand the reasoning behind her previous decisions, as the author makes things clear as to what she went through before becoming a mother. Their reactions to each other are spot-on when they meet up again, especially when he learns about being a dad. So many emotions are battling within him, as he is stunned yet in awe this is happening. Both Trevor and Julie have responded well when obligations compelled them to act responsibly, and I certainly admired them for being so dedicated to others.
There are plenty of scenes in the story with a medical theme to make the book interesting, and I really enjoyed how each episode was so realistic. But it is Trevor and Julie’s relationship that I will long remember because of the sincerity in how countless honest feelings are expressed. These two really have much to work out if they are ever going to have more than a working relationship. While some of their conversations are filled with teasing banter at times, many more of their discussions are profoundly earnest. Then there are the moments where passion takes over, and these instances are beautifully depicted. Lynne Marshall has written a story where the reader is constantly immersed in every single detail involving her appealing romantic couple. HOT-SHOT DOC, SECRET DAD has heartfelt emotions and engaging characters.

REVIEW
The stories are centered around two brothers, growing up in Wyoming and then becoming doctors. D.r Trevor Montgomery has a good life but doesn't get too serious romantically. He's a family practitioner. The author wrote a story of love and second chances. Dr. Cole Montgomery is a famed cardiologist who has his eyes on the beautiful baby of Dr. Lizzie Silva. But does he have eyes for the baby's mother?
The author explains in detail what Julie Sterling had to go through to become a mother. Julie finally realizes it's time to tell the truth to Trevor. He remembers their encounter when they were young but never thought it would make him a father. Now he can step up to the plate and try being the parent he has missed out on. Maybe even a future with Julie. Ms. Marshall wrote a story that was very true to life. Thee reader could relate to the characters and their situations. Ms. Marshall put in scenes with a medical theme to them which helped make the book much more interesting. The situation between Julie and Trevor won't be easy. Will they work things out and become the best parents they can be? The author draws the reader in and you can't let go. I believe it's the fact that the reader can relate so well. This happens. It will grab your heart all through the book.
Cole Montgomery is the other brother. He is also a doctor,, a well known cardiologist. He's the opposite of Trevor. Cole is an unhappy person to the point of being bitter. He is certainly not looking for love, even though he is one hunk of a man. When he comes back from his brother's wedding, he must remain and care for his ailing father. He meets Lizzie Silva who had grown up inn foster homes in the Boston area. She is trying hard to make a decent life for her and her baby. Cole hires Lizzie to help with his father but Cole didn't expect her to be so beautiful or have a little daughter! Will Cole change his mind about romance? Lizzie sees that he loves her tiny daughter but is it possible for Cole to fall in love with her?
Trevor and Cole Montgomery, two different brothers will capture your heart.

Where to begin? From the beginning? Or the beginning of the beginning?
Trevor Montgomery is loyal to his bone and the importance he places in family and loyalty and community dries him to specialise in family medicine and start a practice in his hometown to remain closer to his ailing Mom and aging Dad.
With his father needing assistance at the family owned ranch (run by his father and the foreman and the cowhands), Trevor hires a Nurse Practitioner* who turns out to be the woman he once had a wonderful night (and not even a full night at that; a few hours maybe win almost thirteen years ago. When they were too young (or not too young exactly as she was 17 and he 21).
And this woman is Julie Sterling who has come back to this little town of Wyoming after her parents' death and a particularly rough patch with her son. And all this these years she has kept her son from his father; Trevor Montgomery.
Getting the job in Trevor's clinic and a heartfelt apology from the man starts sending her on a guilt trip and she blurts out the truth about their son the same day she is hired.
Trying to get some bearing in this sudden situation, Trevor sort of closes up making Julie think that maybe he wants nothing to do with the child he had fathered all those years ago. Nothing could be more far from the truth. The man wants his child in his life. And not just the child but the child's mother too for good measure.
The problem is making Julie realise that he Loves her and it is not him doing the right thing however late in their lives.
With the agenda made clear it is time for the ready made family to bond and ride into the sunset together.
*Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) who has additional education and training in a specialty area such as family practice or pediatrics. Pediatric and family practice NPs can provide regular health care for kids.

HOT SHOT DOC SECRET DAD by Lynne Marshall is a test of faith and character strength
Trevor Montgomery is trustworthy and reliable when it comes to his family and friends. Wanting to be closer to his sick mom and dad, he moves to his community and start his practice helping the hometown.
But living close to his family made it a duty for him to help out at the family ranch when need arises. So he hires a Nurse Practitioner who he soon realizes was a woman who he had shared a wonderful night with almost thirteen years ago, when they both were too young to settle down.
Julie Sterling has returned to her little hometown of Wyoming after her parents had passed on. But she has kept a secret all these years and seeing Trevor again opens Pandora's Box. Trevor doesn't know he has a son and Julie's son has no clue Trevor is his father.
Working for Trevor is one thing but with him apologizing for the night they'd spent was another. With the secret weighing down on her mind, Julie blurts the truth out the same day she'd been hired. Trevor's reaction is not what she had expected. Trevor clams up and hides in his own kinda shell giving Julie the impression he does not care he has a son. But for Trevor the feeling is different, He does want his son in his life but most of all he wants his son's mother by his side too.
The only problem between Trevor and Julie now is for Trevor to reveal his feelings regarding this shocking revelation.
Author Lynne Marshall is such a dedicated writer. Her books have high strung emotions flitting off the pages as she tests and tempt her characters so much that in the end their HEA comes together so beautifully!
Fans are in for a wonderful story!

Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Dad by Lynne Marshall is the part one of a two part series featuring the Montgomery brothers of Wyoming. I love themes centered around second chances and this is one of those books that I thoroughly enjoyed from the outset.
Trevor Montgomery could have had a lucrative practice but instead he chose to be a Family Practitioner in his hometown. He lived with his father and helped maintain his family’s ranch.
Julie Sterling returned with her son to her hometown after losing her parents. Her son needed guidance after getting into some trouble so she sent him to a military school not too far from her home. She needed a job so she applied for a Nurse Practitioner position at the local clinic. Trevor Montgomery offered her the job as his nurse and right hand person.
Thirteen years earlier she and Trevor had a one night stand that resulted in her son. She’s kept Trevor’s son a secret all of these years. Once hired, Julie decides to come clean and share her secret with Trevor.
Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Baby is one of those books that tears at your heart strings. I could feel both Trevor’s and Julie’s emotions when she shared her secret. The first time Trevor laid eyes on his son was also filled with emotion. I loved how Trevor put family first when dealing with his father and getting to know his son. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop along with his instant love for his son. I also liked seeing how he dealt with his father’s illness.
This was an extremely fast read as I read it in one sitting. I highly recommend reading Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Baby along with the second book in the series, Father for her Newborn Baby. I’d like to disclose that I received and advance copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

In "Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Dad", Trevor Montgomery is more-or-less settled in his hometown of Cattleman Bluff, Wyoming, running his family practice clinic and continuing to help his father with their Circle M Ranch. However, he is taken by surprise when someone from his past applies for a position at the clinic. Julie Sterling had left the area years ago, but now she was back—a skilled nurse practitioner and midwife, and the most qualified candidate for the job. Employment is not the only reason for Julie’s return: after her parents’ death, she inherited their home, and she has returned to her roots to make a new life for herself and her teen-aged son, James. Seeing Trevor again after all these years gives Julie the courage to reveal a life-changing secret: James is Trevor’s son—the result of one night of youthful passion so long ago. Trevor is stunned, but he is also eager to get to know his son. Julie agrees, and they try their best to proceed with caution, but the heart will have its own way, and friendship and other deeper feelings grow between them. Trevor didn’t know what he was missing all these years, and now that he has it, he’ll do anything to keep it. Will Julie and James accept him and care for him as he does for them? Author Lynne Marshall’s own many years in the medical field adds a fascinating touch of reality to this heart-warming reunion romance.

Julie was a doctor in LA and a single mom. Her 12 year old son James was every thing to her but recently he was getting into trouble. She knew he needed a man's influence and had a boyfriend that she had hoped would be good but the guy showed his true colors when he attempted to send James away so that he would have more time with his Mom.
Julie's parents were killed and left her the house in Wyoming and a little money but putting James in a military school would still be expensive so she needed a good job. Laramie, Wyoming was an hour or so away so Julie applied for the opening at the clinic in her home town.
Trevor Montgomery was the younger son of Monty Montgomery of the huge successful Montgomery Ranch. He was now the doctor at the family practice clinic and needed an assistant. After a successful interview, Julie was hired on the spot and she completed her new employee paperwork right then and agreed to start the next day. Trevor then told her that he owed her an apology. This was the first indication that he even remembered Julie. He mentioned their being at the party and said he did not act very honorably but wanted to apologize for a bad youthful mistake. Julie replied that since they were laying their cards on the table that it was a mistake for her too but he had a 12 year old son as a result of that union.

This is a beautiful story in such a lovely setting a small country town Cattleman Bluff in Wyoming and is the story of young love and what happens when two young people are about to start college and think about their futures and one night together will change that.
Julie Sterling had always thought Trevor Montgomery was gorgeous and an all round nice guy so at the age of 17 and Trevor 21 they enjoy a very passionate time together at a party but this leaves Julie pregnant and Trevor off to medical school, Julie makes the decision to move to LA and become a single mum but twelve years later her son James has got into a little trouble and Julies moves home to Cattleman Bluff and gets a job as a nurse at Trevor's Doctor's practice, this will change their lives forever.
Trevor is gob smacked when the girl he will never forget walks back into his life with shattering news and he is determined to become a father to their son James and this starts a wonderful journey that is sensual heart-warming and a page turner as Trevor, Julie and James work to become a family Trevor is gorgeous and a gentleman cowboy and Julie is so caring and loving. I highly recommend this one it will have you smiling.

They say you can't go home but sometimes you have to and that is what happens to Julie Sterling and her son James. Thirteen years ago she had a night of passion with Trever Montgomery but that is all that it was except she leaves town and finds out she is pregnant. Thirteen years later, she must go home as her son is mixing with the wrong crowd and she puts him in a military school that is near the home she inherits from her parents. She needs a job and there is an opening in the practice of Dr. Trever Montgomery and hoping she gets it to be able to pay for her sons school. Trevor hires her and remembers her and from here on you experience whether you can go home or not. Julie feels she must tell him that he has a son , since Trevors dad has almost put two and two together as James looks so much like his son. What will happen when both father and son find out .....read this lovely story and find out. Ms Marshall always writes from the heart and this is a medical romance but much more romance then medical. You will fall in love with Dr. Montgomery and will forgive Julie for keeping her secret. a wonderful read.

Now their son is in trouble and Julie realizes he needs male role models i his life. She heads for Cattleman Bluff Wyoming and accepts a job as a nurse practitioner at the local health clinic working with Travis. She plans on telling Travis about their son and hopes he will want to be involved with his life. Travis is stunned to learn he is a father. Can he forgive Julie for keeping their son James away from him. Will their son accept him and allow him to be a father to him. Can Travis convince Julie he cares for her, not just because she is the mother of his son. It is a rocky road they travel but you find yourself cheering them on hoping they can overcome their past and become a family together. Do you believe that everyone deserves a second chance? If you do, then you will certainly enjoy this story that introduces readers to Trevor Montgomery, a family doctor in his hometown of Cattleman Bluff, Wyoming. Trevor and Julie Sterling had spent a few hours together over thirteen years ago and this resulted in a pregnancy that he never knew about. It is only after Julie returns to Cattleman Bluff and begins to work for him that Trevor learns that he has a son. His reaction convinces Julie that he wants nothing to do with their son but, in reality, Trevor wants his son and he also wants his son's mother.
Convincing her that he wants the three of them to be a family offers readers a wonderfully sweet story. Lynne Marshall allows us to savor the journey that leads to a second chance at happiness for this hot shot doc and secret dad. You won't be disappointed with this book!

This book was a two for one with the UK cover.
Julie Sterling sacrificed and worked hard to raise her son on her own. She made a career for herself. A career that brought her back to Cattleman Bluff, Wyoming and to Dr. Trevor Montgomery.
Julie needs a father figure for her son and she has decided that Trevor is the father figure she needs.
In all the back and forth between these two people they decide that they care for each other.
Loved the story line and the characters. They get you involved and you cheer them on and want them to figure out that they need to be together. This is a five star read. Lynn Marshall has done it again.

"Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Dad (Cowboys, Doctors...Daddies)" by Lynne Marshall is her first book of her two part series of the Montgomery brothers. This is Trevor Montgomery and Julie Sterling's story. Thirteen years prior they had met and had an affair. Unbeknownst to Trevor their affair resulted in a pregnancy and he has a son. She comes to town to work as a Nurse Practitioner for his office. The past comes forth with the present and they find there is still an attraction, but now there is the issue of Julie never telling Trevor he has a son.

This was actually a really fun read for me. Sometimes I get distracted by too much medical in some medical romance books. However; this story had a great mix of doctors and cowboys!!! I loved how easy the story flowed. The whole interaction with Julie's son, James ,and his dad was so well written! And the connection between Julie and Trevor jumped off the page! I highly recommend this story!

Wonderful feel-good romance of healing and found love. I was swept up in the characters and the story. Lynne Marshall has a way to make me feel what the people feel. I find myself crying, smiling and laughing out loud every time I read one of her books. This one didn't disappoint either! Given by author in exchange for an honest review.

Lynne writes another great book! Very emotional, The situation Julie has unintentually put Trevor and herself in is a hard road to travel, trust is key in any relationship and Julie has teasted Trevors ability to trust her. I had lots of fun reading this amazing story.

3.5 stars.
This previously released medical romance has been repackaged with a sexy cover to fit in with the Single Dad Romance line, but it remains the same as it was in the Cowboys, Doctors… Daddies duology. It also stands alone perfectly well and the title makes it pretty clear that this is a medical romance.
Curiously, though, it’s not actually about a single dad. Julie fell pregnant at seventeen after a one-night stand and hasn’t been seen in town since. Now she’s back and has to confront the father of her child, while also applying for a job at his medical practice. Which is quite a lot for Trevor to take in on their first meeting after thirteen years. Since their son, James, is actually away at military school for most of the book, he doesn’t get to do much parenting at all, let alone on his own.
But that’s a minor quibble in what is otherwise an enjoyable secret dad story. Julie has done her best by her boy and clearly loves him very much, while Trevor takes things as well as he can. I loved how much he tries throughout this book – to deal with his emotions, to prove to Julie how much he cares, to show how much he wants to be in James’ life and how good they could all be together as a family. He tries so hard throughout that at times it’s easy to understand why Julie is a little sceptical about his perfection. The guy can barely do anything wrong – this time around.
Julie too has a lot to work through – trust issues, mostly, but also feelings of guilt and love as well as a little fear and a touch of reluctance. I wish her hesitation to tell James the truth had been explored a little more and her slightly selfish (if completely understandable) fears of what she might lose or how she might be blamed could have been talked through.
I would also have liked to have seen a bit more Trevor/James time and some more stuff between Trevor and his dad. We only really get fleeting glimpses of both, which I thought was a shame.
Still, overall this is easy and enjoyable. There’s a bit of angst but not too much, there are some emotions but they’re never too heavy, and there’s also some heat and drama to keep things interesting. Plus Trevor’s a hot cowboy doctor, which ticks so many boxes it’s hard not to like the guy. So while it might not quite fit the single dad mould, it still made for a good read.

This book is well written with very likeable characters ill be honest I was surprised she came clean so early on in the book but it was also refreshing.
I enjoyed the book but at times it lagged and went on a bit too much and I found myself wishing they get to the point.
but overall a sweet read.

Ok quick read but nothing about the mess of her parents disappointment to him. Thought that should be discussed with him at some point.

October 13, 2015I wrote this book and loved my visit under the western skies of Cattleman Bluff, Wyoming with the Montgomery brothers of Circle M Ranch. This is a linked book with FATHER FOR HER NEWBORN BABY (though both can be read as standalone)where I explore the theme of COWBOYS, DOCTORS...DADDIES.
Trevor and Julie's story was particularly tricky to write, though they are both honorable characters and they deserved their happy ending. But our youth has a way to set the tone for the rest of our lives and the decisions we make way back then might not always be the best ones. Since we can never go back, the only logical thing to do is move forward, and Julie and Trevor, after a bumpy ride, definitely find a way back to each other in this book.
No that wasn't a spoiler, this is a romance, remember? ;)

It is very nice to read a romance novel where the guy is a kind, compassionate, and helpful character right from the start. It is a little more realistic that the ones where the guy is a jerk and is changed by the female character. This book moves a little fast, but that is the nature of a Harlequin romance novel. It is a cute one, however.

Cute read. A bit boring because everything was so perfect.
