It's About Time: Blossom Peak, Book 4

Rate this book
Pretending to be engaged to my enemy might not be my brightest idea.

But it is definitely necessary.

On the brink of the biggest car show of my career, I start to panic because it’s the first time I have to see my ex since our break-up. Spoiler it wasn’t clean or amicable.

Then when Elliot Thorne’s ex-fiancé shows back up in town, I devise a plan for both of us to get what we a buffer from our exes with a dash of revenge.

The problem is Elliot takes his role to protect me too seriously.

He brings me food while I’m working to make sure I eat. He even silences the self-doubt I feel on a day-to-day basis.

And before I know it, he has me on my knees in my garage, and on my back on the hood of my car.

The hate I’ve harbored toward him melts away as fast as my panties, and I soon realize we have more in common than I thought.

Then he tells me a secret that makes me reevaluate our entire relationship.

Now I’m left to consider if something fake could be real…And that maybe it’s about time I admit that Elliot isn’t my enemy after all.

ARC Review 📖

I flew through this book with the biggest smile on my face.

I don’t think I could have asked for a better story for Elliot and Dilynne. I’d been waiting for their book since they first appeared, and it was worth every bit of the anticipation.

Their banter was sharp, their chemistry was impossible to ignore, and I loved how every sarcastic exchange hid feelings that had been buried for far too long. Fake engagement is already one of my favorite tropes, and this one reminded me exactly why.

What really made this story special was the emotional journey. Elliot’s heartbreak and gradual healing felt genuine, while watching Dilynne slowly let someone see beyond her tough exterior completely stole my heart. She was fierce, funny, and endlessly determined, and Elliot’s protective, thoughtful side made him impossible not to love. They challenged each other, supported each other, and slowly became exactly what the other needed. Their romance felt earned every step of the way.

Being back with this friend group made the story even more special because the found family element added so much heart. I laughed, swooned, and got surprisingly emotional along the way.

Saying goodbye to Blossom Peak is bittersweet, but this ending couldn’t have felt more right.

ALC Review (Audiobook) 🎧

I already loved Elliot and Dilynne’s story, but listening to it elevated the entire experience. James Cassidy and Mollie Stark made every sarcastic exchange, emotional conversation, and quietly vulnerable moment feel completely authentic. James captured Elliot’s guarded heart, dry humor, and filthy mouth perfectly, while Mollie brought so much personality, warmth, and confidence to Dilynne that she felt effortlessly real. Their duet narration gave every scene an extra layer of chemistry, making the slow burn, fake engagement, heartfelt healing, and laugh-out-loud banter feel even more cinematic. I genuinely found myself looking for excuses to keep listening, and by the end I wasn’t ready to leave these characters behind.

~~~~
I was lucky enough to receive both an ARC and an ALC, and being able to immersive read and listen to this story made the whole experience even more special.
~~~~

Huge thank you to Harlow James and The Smuthood for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

ARC/ALC REVIEW

Raise your hand if you had Elliott ❤️ Dilynne on your bingo card from day one book one!

🙋‍♀️me🙋‍♀️me🙋‍♀️me🙋‍♀️!!

Also, THIS.TITLE! amirite?! LOL Sweet destiny if you ask me!

And what a beautiful journey Harlow wrote for these two! When you close out a series of a group of friends with the last two friends, who under no circumstances should work on any level, and make it one of the most emotionally satisfying growth experiences, you just might be a fucking great author. Harlow James! You slayed me in the best possible way, and I love you for every single minute I spent inside this story!

Dilynne and Elliot's story was fueled by the best slow-burn friendship-to-more that I have read in a while. Yes, their friendship was more animosity than anything else for a really long time, but they had a base to work from and that’s what made their relationship growth feel very authentic and real. They also both became better versions of themselves because of their relationship and that just made my heart want to burst. There was never a point in this story that I felt was lacking in growth in one way or another. It was uplifting and natural and just one giant *happy sigh*! Don’t be thinking this is one of those sunshine and gumdrops kinda of story because it is far from that. I cried a lot but most of the time it was because I felt the story deeply. I felt the circumstance’s highs and lows deeply. And isn’t that real-life? I like realistic fiction and this story is one of the best I’ve read/listened to in a good long while.

That brings me to the audio portion of my thoughts. Truthfully, I did more of a listen than reading because once Mollie Stark & James Cassidy started performing Dilynne and Elliot there was no looking back for me. I have yet to meet a performance by Mollie that I have not genuinely enjoyed and be sucked in by. She truly made Dilynne shine in every possible way and together with James as Elliott, I had zero chance against them! LOL James Cassidy is fairly new-to-me, but I’m about to stalk the heck out of him! Mollie & James were dynamic together and truly made this story come alive for me!

I had doubts I was going to like Dillynne and Elliot’s book, but I did like it. (Possible spoilers ahead)

I was not a fan of Dilly in the other books but I did like her in this book. Her job in a male dominated business was fascinating. Love to see it (she’s a mechanic)

This book starts on the day Elliott is getting married to OW, but then OW ditches him for her boss. Then it starts quickly fast forwarding through a whole year. We see how Dilly has supported and helped Elliot through his heartbreak even though these two “hated” each other.

Then they agree to be fake engaged because Elliot’s crap dad hired OW to work with them. He wants Elliot to marry her. 😱 ) I KNEW dad was up to something shady asf. Dilly also has an ex that she’ll have to deal with at a car show so having a fiancé will be a good buffer.

Everything that happens is predictable. Elliot and Dilly start to develop real feelings for each other. The sexual tension is strong. The banter is good. Dilly is NOT a doormat.
And wow! Elliot has a filthy mouth. 😜 I didn’t not see that coming from Elliot. He also has dixk jewelry.

I loved how Dilly’s brother would start to interfere and Dilly would shut him down fast. She would tell her brother that she is an adult and she’s allowed to make her own choices. Yesss! Authors need to quit writing brothers who are all creepy about their sister’s sex life. I remember in book 1, the brother of that heroine actually beat the hero up and he didn’t talk with the MCs for a few weeks. I’m so glad the author didn’t do that in this book.

Naturally, we do find out Dilly did like Elliot in high school. She overheard him talking about her to his friend- and that is how the “hate” started in their relationship. 🥴

I’d say everything wraps up nicely. It seems the whole bro’s club and their women are all now pregnant. I was glad to see Dilly and Elliot both decided not to have kids.

Elliot and Dilynne started as enemies and then ended up in a fake engagement when both of their toxic cheating exes came back into their lives.

Dilynne, what a queen. She was a mechanic, and I love a woman in a male dominated field. She dealt with people talking about her because of her career, and it did affect her, but she was tough and didn’t let it show.

Elliot was a grumpy lawyer, and her brother’s best friend. He was a mess, but Dilynne was there for him through everything (despite hating him).

I loved these two. And I loved seeing them slowly go from enemies to lovers. Elliot may have been a grump and Dilynne may have been sassy, but they both had vulnerabilities. And when Dilynne let her guard down, Elliot was sweet to her. And he helped her just as much as she helped him.

This is the last book in the series and it can be read as a standalone. I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters, but I can’t wait to see what’s next.

"Your soul woke mine up"

This is about seeing and accepting people for who they really are, confronting old pain, and finally acknowledging real feelings.

Dilynne is a thirty‑something mechanic whose passion for restoring classic cars runs deep. Growing up with addict parents and in foster care taught her to build a thick skin, but beneath the sharp wit and quick comebacks is a tender heart that fiercely protects those she loves.

Elliot is a successful lawyer shaped by a complicated family. His father failed him, but his grandfather showed him what love and honor look like. After his latest breakup, he’s jaded and closed off. That is until Dilynne, his best friend’s little sister and the woman who’s considered him her enemy since high school, becomes the one to pull him out of the dark.

Through her consistency, their reluctant friendship, and a fake engagement that turns unexpectedly real, feelings get messy. Both must face the reasons behind their long‑held resentment and decide if love is worth the risk.

Elliot deals with family secrets, while Dilynne prepares for the biggest event of her career and braces for an encounter with her own ex. After years of avoidance and sharp words, they finally see each other clearly and realize their hate may have been something else all along.

The pacing is medium to fast, with dual timelines and a slow burn that transitions naturally from fake to real. While reading previous books isn’t required, the introduction throws a lot of names at you, which can feel overwhelming if you’re new to Blossom Peak. Since each book seems to unfold during the same general timeframe and builds the friend group dynamics, beginning with book one will likely give you the best emotional payoff!

The duet audiobook narration was a highlight. James Cassidy brought Elliot to life with every hitch, stammer, and shift in tone. His ability to differentiate voices, both young and old, was impressive. Mollie Stark’s steady performance captured Dilynne’s snark and rasp perfectly, though her range between female characters was less distinct.

Listen to this when you want tension, sharp banter, and the slow melt of not quite enemies to lovers. When you want to see old wounds heal and strong found family bonds form.

Thank you Smuthood and Harlow James for this ALC

It’s About Time is the final book in the Blossom Peak series, and it follows Dilynne and Elliot. I have been waiting for their story, and Harlow absolutely delivered!

The banter between these two was top-tier, making this one of my favorite enemies-to-lovers romances. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the tension had me hooked from beginning to end.

I absolutely loved Dilynne. She was sassy, confident, and completely owned her place in a male-dominated mechanic world. Watching her prove herself while never backing down made me love her even more. And Elliot? Whew…that man had the filthiest mouth in the best way! But beyond that, I loved how fiercely he supported Dilynne. Whether it was showing off her car, bragging about her talent, or cheering her on at the car show, he was always her biggest hype man. He saw how incredible she was and made sure everyone else knew it too. He was exactly the kind of man Dilynne deserved.

I’m always a sucker for a fake dating (or fake engagement) trope, and this book reminded me exactly why. Watching these two pretend while slowly falling for each other was so much fun, and every moment had me smiling.

The audiobook was incredible. Molly Stark and James Cassidy delivered phenomenal performances. They brought so much emotion, humor, and chemistry to these characters that it felt like I was right there with them. Their narration elevated an already amazing story, and I truly can’t imagine anyone else voicing Dilynne and Elliot.

This was the perfect conclusion to the Blossom Peak series, and I’m so sad to say goodbye to these characters.

Thank you Harlow ans The Author Agency for the ALC!

Just like the title, ‘It’s About Time,’ we have Elliot’s story! He caught my attention; the poor guy had some challenges and was going through them during the series. Harlow James has an ability in her writing that allows the reader to become emotionally invested in every character. At the end of the previous book, A Test of Time, though it was Rhonan and Vienna’s story, Harlow was also building on Elliot’s and Dilynne’s. But she did this so cleverly. It wasn’t a distraction. It was quite smooth. It led seamlessly to the next book.

It’s About Time is by far my favorite of the series. I love a fake relationship. What Harlow does, though, with the story, is add not just an enemies-to-lovers. They can’t stand each other, and it goes back to their high school days. They are also complete opposites. There’s a forbidden factor here, though. Elliot is Dilynne’s brother’s best friend. I love that even more! But what sealed the deal for me was that the fake relationship in this story benefited both of them. Dilynne needed someone as much as Elliot did with her ex. Who am I kidding? The dialogue, banter, comedic timing, and all that spice were top-tier too!

I’ve heard the audiobook is also amazing, narrated in DUET by narrated in 𝗗𝗨𝗘𝗧 by @jamescassidyromance and @molliestarknarrates I can only imagine what it will be like listening to all those scenes come to life.

Another excellent story in the Blossom Peak series — one I’d been highly anticipating and which didn’t disappoint!

This enemies to lovers story was as heartfelt and emotional, as it was funny and smart. I enjoyed every second of it!

🎧Narration by James Cassidy and Mollie Stark was out of this world — they captured Elliot and Dilynne perfectly at every turn and I zipped through this audiobook in just over a day. Loved.

Thanks so much to Harlow for this ALC!

"Because when you love someone, you should never stop reminding them that they're the most important part of your life. Sometimes that's through gifts, sometimes it's noticing the details that other people miss. Love is something none of us should ever take for granted, and when you find someone who makes you a better person, you do everything in your power to make sure they know how much they've changed your life”

And just like that this series has come to an end… Something I honestly still can’t wrap my head around, because Blossom Peak basically felt like a home to me. I fell in love with this group of friends and little town and I just don’t want to say goodbye.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. It might not have been the brightest idea, but when you’re out of options you gotta do what you gotta do, so a fake engagement to your enemy it is!
When they have to face their exes Dilynne and Elliot find themselves agreeing - for once, shockingly - and come up with a pact. They pretend to be engaged so that Elliot his ex will leave him alone and Dilynne feels comfortable enough to face her ex for the first time since their breakup at the biggest car show of her career. The dash of revenge mixed in is just a bonus.
However, the pretending thing gets a little too serious and soon they find the lines blurred. Secrets about the past get revealed, but honestly? It’s about damn time that Elliot and Dilynne are getting honest with themselves and open their eyes to what has been happening in front of them all this time. Because why does something that is supposed to be fake feel so damn real?

In case you were wondering, no I’m not okay. I honestly can’t believe the Blossom Peak series has officially ended… These characters have grown so dear to me. Such a healthy group of friends, a found family to the fullest and supportive through everything, even if they don’t always see eye to eye. I think I can safely say that this series is one of my favourites, one I will recommend to everyone and I will for sure reread some day, because I seriously can’t say goodbye to them and this small town.
Elliot and Dilynne have proven that although love has broken them before, it is still possible to open up again. Both had so much love to give, love loudly and proudly not only through words, but also through acts of service. Because what are some empty words if you don't back them up with actions? The tension and banter between these two has been present since the start of this series and also in this book it was on fire, but to finally feel and see that dynamic shift was just incredible. Two people who hated each other's guts, have tried to push the other away numerous times, but still stood there for each other. I do have to say that in the beginning of the book I was a bit struggling, mainly because of the timeline. The previous books went further where we left off, this one takes a little throwback to the past, and I do think it worked for this story, however it took some getting used to on my side. It was also so refreshing to see a woman in the automotive industry. But also a woman who is not portrayed as overly masculine, has her insecurities and vulnerabilities, but not because of her abilities. Because she is damn proud and confident in them, as she should. If Blossom Peak showed me something as well is that Harlow is not afraid to write about more vulnerable men. Men that have their own mental struggles due to the past they endured, men that are not afraid to support their friends and TALK about these matters, men that (eventually) embrace therapy, including Elliot. I think that this is another reason why I love this series so much. Mental health rep, especially those of males, isn't always talked about enough on a daily basis, and to see such a natural healthy dynamic between four males through a whole series? I can only say that I applaud that.

It’s about time is a heartwarming story of two broken people who swore off love finding themselves again with help of the other, two people who love so loudly but never found the right person to give it to, two people who show that action speaks louder than words. The Blossom peak series screams found family and even though the books are interconnected standalones, I would highly recommend to read the other three books in this series before you read this one to be able to enjoy this series and the dynamic shift of these two to the fullest potential.

“Before I realized that being there for you in this way is far more important, and obviously it's the only way I can get you to see whatever is happening between us isn't fake. So that's what I'm going to do.”

Dilynne and Elliot have never really liked each other, but when both of their exes come back into their lives, they pretend to be engaged. Dilynne needs a buffer now that her ex is back in town, and Elliot also has his own reasons to go along with the plan after his failed engagement. What starts as a fake relationship soon turns into something more.

I loved the way Dilynne and Elliot's relationship developed throughout the book. From the moment they were introduced in this series, I loved their dynamic and couldn't wait to get to their book. They started pretending to be engaged because they both needed something from each other, but you could tell their feelings had been there for much longer. I loved finding out that Elliot had feelings for Dilynne when they were younger but never acted on them. Their banter was just as funny as in the previous books, and I loved that they were both so sassy and dirty-mouthed. They had so many sweet, emotional moments, and I was so happy when they finally stopped fighting their feelings for each other. They were just perfect together!

I also enjoyed both of their character development throughout the book. It was so nice to see Elliot getting back on track after being left at the altar, and I loved that Dilynne never gave up on him. She was always there for him, checking on him and supporting him until he finally started feeling like himself again. I also loved how fiercely independent and determined Dilynne was. She worked so hard to prove herself in a male-dominated industry, and I admired her a lot. I was also surprised by Dilynne's brother's reaction when they finally got together. I was expecting him to lash out at Elliot, so I was happy to see how supportive he was instead.

Overall, I’ve had a great time reading this book and the series in general, and I can't believe it's already over. I loved every couple and all of these characters, and I think this was the perfect way to conclude the series. I can't wait to see what Harlow James writes next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | It’s About Time (Blossom Peak #4) by Harlow James

Audiobook Narrated by: James Cassidy & Mollie Stark
Format: Audiobook (ALC)
Thank you to The Author Agency for providing me with an advanced listening copy. All thoughts are my own.

Harlow James has officially become an auto-read author for me.

This is the fourth book in the Blossom Peak series, and somehow each book just keeps getting better. If you’re a fan of emotional, suspenseful small-town romances with incredible chemistry and unforgettable characters, Harlow James absolutely delivers every single time.

I was so excited to finally get Elliot’s story, and it did not disappoint. Elliot and Dylan have one of my favorite dynamics in the entire series. Their enemies-to-lovers journey is packed with sharp banter, constant teasing, and the kind of chemistry that has you grinning from chapter one.

When Elliot is left at the altar and Dylan is forced to face her own painful past, these two reluctantly come together in a fake engagement that quickly becomes so much more. Dylan understands heartbreak better than anyone, and despite convincing herself she can’t stand Elliot, her caring heart shines through. Watching their walls slowly come down as they fought their feelings was one of my favorite parts of the book.

The pacing was fantastic. I was completely invested from beginning to end and never found myself wanting to put it down. The romance develops naturally, making every emotional moment and every confession feel earned. The fake relationship trope, enemies-to-lovers tension, and just a touch of miscommunication all blended together perfectly without ever feeling frustrating.

And the banter? Absolutely top tier. Elliot and Dylan constantly throw witty jabs at each other, but underneath all that sarcasm is so much respect, loyalty, and undeniable attraction. Their relationship unfolds beautifully, and I loved every second of watching them realize that maybe the person they’ve been fighting is exactly the person they’ve needed all along.

The supporting cast continues to make Blossom Peak feel like home. Every return to this town feels like catching up with old friends, and that’s one of the things I love most about this series.

James Cassidy and Mollie Stark were fantastic narrators. They captured Elliot and Dylan’s personalities perfectly, bringing every sarcastic exchange, emotional moment, and romantic scene to life. Their performances added so much depth to an already wonderful story.

Harlow James’ writing is effortless to read. It’s engaging, emotionally mature, easy to follow, and balances humor, romance, and heart so well. Every time I finish one of her books, I’m immediately ready for the next.

This series has completely won me over, and I honestly can’t wait to see what Harlow James writes next.

When a book has you tearing up during the prologue, you already know you’re in for an emotional ride. IT’S ABOUT TIME grabbed me from the very beginning and did not let go until the very last page. This was heartbreaking, romantic, emotional, and so beautifully done.

Elliott Thorne and Dilynne Clarke’s story completely pulled me in. Their enemies-to-lovers tension, fake engagement, small-town setting, and all the messy feelings between them made this such an addictive read. I loved watching the hate and hurt between them slowly turn into something real, especially as Elliott started showing up for Dilynne in the sweetest ways. The way he cared for her, protected her, and helped quiet her self-doubt had me absolutely melting.

This is book four in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. That being said, I loved this one so much that I already downloaded book one because I need more of this world and these characters.

As usual, I read the ARC while listening to the ALC, and James Cassidy and Mollie Stark truly brought their A-game. Their duet narration brought Elliott and Dilynne to life so perfectly. They made the emotions, chemistry, banter, and heartbreak feel so real, and I loved every second of it.

IT’S ABOUT TIME is an enthralling enemies-to-lovers small-town romance that keeps your attention the entire time. If you love fake engagement, emotional romance, tension, second chances, revenge against exes, and characters who slowly realize the person they thought was their enemy might actually be exactly who they need, add this one to your TBR.

Thank you so much to @harlowjamesauthor for the ARC/ALC copy! 💕

Thank you Smuthood and Harlow James for the advanced listening copy and advanced reading copy of It’s about time.

The audiobook was a duet narration, which I love, and the actors were so engaging. 5/5 on the audiobook.

Elliott and Dilynne are so funny. I love their banter and the tension between these two! The friend group with its different layers is so interesting and really makes the found family trope. Elliott is a green flag with a filthy mouth and I couldn’t love him more!

“The feminism leaves my body as he sets me down and I instantly obey him. Something about the way he’s bossing me around makes me want to abide, and that’s a first for me.”

I also really loved his relationship with his grandfather and the lessons he taught him.

Love is something none of us should ever take for granted, and when you find someone who makes you a better person, you do everything in your power to make sure they know how much they’ve changed your life.”

If you enjoy the fake dating trope, this one was done to perfection. Small town, brothers best friend, slow burn, “enemies” to lovers.

I have been anxiously awaiting Dilynne and Elliot's story and this absolutely did not disappoint. What a great ending to this series. These two have always bantered and argued back and forth. But when Elliot's ex-fiance leaves him at the altar, it's Dilynne who is always there to make sure he's okay. When the ex shows back up in town, Dilynne makes a plan to help them both with their exes by pretending they are engaged.

Dilynn is passionate, sassy, and super independent. I love how she isn't afraid to speak her mind and doesn't take anyone's crap. Elliot seems like a grumpy lawyer, but underneath that exterior is a loyal, protective man. I loved the relationship between the two of them. Seeing them go from frenemies, to friends, to more was such a beautiful story. I loved seeing it all unfold and see them learn to trust each other. And when Elliot was all in with her my heart turned to mush. I loved how he was always there to let her shine esp with her being in a male dominated field. On top of that, they challenged each other in the best ways and I think that's what they both needed.

Overall 4.5/5 stars!

🎧 This was a duet narration by James Cassidy and Mollie Stark. I'm relatively new to both of these narrators but they are both easily becoming favorites for me. The narration was incredible and I absolutely recommend it.

Thank you to Harlow James for this e-ARC/ALC. All opinions are my own.

It’s About Time

Finally! It’s about time the two main characters in this book put their hatred for each other aside and admitted they had feelings for each other. As a reader of the first three books in this series, I have been eagerly awaiting Elliott and Dilynne’s story. Once the two became honest about how they felt, Wow! They made up for lost time. The author did not hold back on the spice!

DiLynne is an unforgettable character. She’s a mechanic who owns a garage. She is feisty. Her quick wit unleashes memorable comebacks. She does have a heart of gold. She is willing to help Elliott after he suffers a heartbreak, because she understands what he’s going through.

“I can handle it, especially because no matter what game we’re playing, you’re the one I want to be playing it with.”

“Love is something none of us should ever take for granted, and when you find someone who makes you a better person, you do everything in your power to make sure they know how much they’ve changed your life.”

This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series, and this is Elliot and Dilynne’s story.
Dilynne is a sassy, and sarcastic mechanic, and Elliot is her brother’s best friend. When Elliot is left at the altar by his ex, he spirals out of control, and his friends don’t know how to help him, but it is Dilynne who shows up to babysit him. When Dilynne is on the brink of her biggest car yet, she is going to see her ex, the first time after a bad breakup, and when Elliot’s ex shows up again, Dilynne proposes a mutually beneficial fake engagement.
This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, secrets, animosity, insults, delf-doubt, fake engagement, enemies / lovers, humour, witty banter, healing, palpable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Absolutely outstanding Duet Narration by James Cassidy and Mollie Stark. They were both perfect for these characters.

The banter between the two characters had me laughing almost non-stop. The growth in each of their character arcs was perfect. You could feel the changes in them as they happened.

I adored the story line. I always love a good "he falls first", but this one also had kind of a 2nd chance, slow burn, enemies to lovers, small town, and found family that just made it almost perfect for me.

Mollie delivered Diylnn's snarky lines, comeback lines, and inner monologues with perfection.

James was Elliot down to the hurting heart and including the dirty mouth. He delivered Elliot's lines with snark and heart.

I'm going to have to go back and read the other novels in this series especially if they are as good as this one!

I’ve been waiting for Elliot and Dilynne’s story since this series started. These two were so electrically charged.

The angst, the banter, the “I hate you” until I don’t, and when they finally gave in to turning up the heat on the relationship - it was smokin hot. Of course there was also that side plot going on with dear ole dad. Love that the friend group (claimed family) were present and supportive throughout the series.

I couldn’t read this book fast enough but I didn’t want it to end either. Don’t skip out on the bonus epilogue.

This is a series that will stick with me and I will most definitely read again. Highly recommend!

This book was everything I had hoped for and more!!!! I’ve been waiting for Dil and Elliott’s story since what feels like book 1 and Harlow delivered for sure!!! This is a dislike/loathe to lovers, forbidden as he’s her brother’s best friend and has just a touch of hurt/comfort/healing. I definitely want to be Dil when I grow up she’s such a BA girly! And Elliott redeemed himself and more in my eyes! This whole series is so wonderful and so underrated! Highly recommend if you love small town, found family etc!

The best was saved for last but it was totally worth the wait!

I loved, loved, loved Elliot and Dilynne! Their chemistry was OFF. THE. CHARTS!

Their banter and tension was amazing!

Dilynne & Elliot were the perfect enemies to lovers story. Dilynne is sassy and Elliot becomes head over heels for her once they began their fake dating/engagement cover. But we all know what happens when what starts out as "fake" turns out So Real!

I was here for it all!!

ALL THE STARS!!! I have been waiting on Elliot and Dilynne since the very beginning of this series and goodness, they were perfect!!

I loved their banter. It was so funny and the way their flirting was insulting one another…gimme gimme!

Elliot struggled when he was left at the alter, and Dilynne, the unlikely person to help him, got him up and moving so he could heal. Her sweet treats with insults were so funny. I loved how she started breaking down Elliot’s walls. I feel like Elliot was so misunderstood and he just had a hard time moving on. He wanted a love like his grandparents and got hurt.

Dilynne. That’s my girl! She is so badass and I loved her attitude. So funny, a kind soul underneath the sarcasm, and a really great friend.

This book gives you the tension of enemies to lovers and the chemistry of fake engagement. Spicy scenes on a car hood…say less!

I don’t think I’ll ever shut up about this book, and don’t even get me started on the audio. James Cassidy and Mollie Stark were UTTER PERFECTION, and exactly how I imagined Elliot & Dilynne would sound like. The grumpy and growly Elliot and the hilarious & sarcastic Dilynne were brought to life!

What to expect:
enemies to lovers
fake engagement
he falls first
brother's best friend/best friend's little sister
pierced hero
blue collar FMC
small town

Thank you Harlow and team for the eARC/ALC opportunity!

ARC & ALC kindly provided for the author in exchange for an honest review

Now I understand why Harlow James left Elliot & Dilynne to close out this series: they were such a fun, charming couple, with one of the most beautiful and interesting love stories the author has ever written—one I enjoyed so much and became my favorite in the series, and one of my favorite Harlow James stories as well!

I have to say that Dilynne hadn't been my favorite character throughout the series; however, I fell in love with her from the very beginning of It's About Time, her personality is so funny and witty, and she has a beautiful heart, but I think what I loved most about her was her love for cars and the way she's committed to her work, to fulfilling her dreams, and to showcasing her talent, especially after learning about her whole story and the obstacles she faced along her journey. I LOVED reading about her friendship with Laney more, the way they've always been there for each other, how they're each other's biggest cheerleaders and the person the other trusts most. I also enjoyed reading about her with her dad and how special their bond is, and the love they share for cars.

Elliott is a character I hated in the first two books, partly because of his attitude towards Dilynne, but also because of how rude he is after what happens with Tori, I started to understand him a little more in the last book, especially after that very honest conversation with Rhonan, and in this book, I fell completely in love with him!! I LOVED that Harlow James showed me everything he went through in those first months after Tori, how much he grew, and also how important his grandfather's memory is to him, something that really touched me. It was also a surprise to read him as the hottest of the boys and how much he feels for Dilynne.

I had a great time reading Dilynne & Elliott; they're such a fun couple, I loved the dynamic the author created, where Elliott acts like the more mature, rude and grumpy one who can't stand Dilynne's nosy, direct, and confrontational personality, but he really can't live without her. I loved every pastrie she send him, and the way Elliott believes in and supports Dilynne's talent and dreams. I also really enjoyed the subplot with Elliott's dad and how he trusts Dilynne to uncover the truth. These two are definitely one of the best stories of 2026!

🎧Audiobook Review🎧

🚘Narrators: James Cassidy & Mollie Stark
🩵Duet narration
🚘Narration: 5/5

This audiobook is one of the best I've listened to this year. There couldn't have been a better choice of narrators because James Cassidy is the Elliott I imagined while reading his story! He captured perfectly the grumpy and rude side of the character we've come to know from the other books. He also made me empathize much more with his love for his grandfather, with his vulnerable scenes, and I absolutely loved that sexy side of him that I hadn't expected.

This audiobook was my first time listening to Mollie Stark, and I think she's going to become one of my favorite narrators! I also think she's partly responsible for how much I loved listening to Dilynne, I loved that her narration captured that fun side of this character that she made me laugh so much while reading, and even more so while listening. I loved the scenes where she teased Elliot, when she was with Laney, and when she showed her passion for cars and her garage. Plus, the fact that the narrator also captured the character's expressions and smiles made me enjoy the audiobook even more.

Dilynne and Elliott FINALLY get their love story in It’s About Time by Harlow James; it is a small-town enemies to lovers/fake engagement love story. It is the fourth and final book in her Blossom Peak series. It’s About Time was a bittersweet book for me, because I had to say good-bye to everyone in Blossom Peak. Harlow James is an amazing storyteller and a must-read author for me. I was hooked from the first few pages, It’s About Time was impossible to put down, and I loved every moment on every page. It is one of the most enjoyable books that I have read recently. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? It’s About Time is the story of Dilynne Clark, owner of Clark Customs & Auto Repair and Elliott Thorne, lawyer for his family’s Thorne Family Law Group. Following Elliott’s cancelled marriage to Tori, Dilynne, his arch nemesis, constantly visited him bringing food and sweets to make sure he was all right and help him get over his broken heart. Dilynne sympathizes with Elliott because she had her heart broken by her last boyfriend, Vinnie Delatorre. One of my favorite parts is how Dilynne calls Elliott “Grumpzilla.” Elliott’s father hires Tori Michaels, Elliott’s ex-fiancé as the receptionist for the law firm. Dilynne suggests a fake relationship with Elliott to help them in avoiding their exes. Dilynne is anxious about seeing Vinnie at Motorlux, a restoration car show and auction, where she will take the Porsche 356 that she has been restoring. I love the set of rules the Elliott has created and the ones that Dilynne has added to the list. As Dilynne and Elliott spend time together being fake engaged things begin to change between them, but neither one of them is willing to admit their true feelings for one another. I love the sizzling chemistry between Dilynne and Elliott and the conversations between them flow so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, Dilynne constantly flirting with dirty talking Elliott and fighting with him. I love all the little things that Elliott does for Dilynne and how he supports her with her restoration and her job. I love all the heart-to-heart conversations between Dilynne and Elliott, especially when she reveals what happened to them years ago that caused Dilynne to hate Elliott. I also love the heart-to-heart conversation that Elliott had with his late grandfather and his memories about him, make sure that you have your Kleenex nearby. My favorite part of It’s About Time is the letter that his grandfather wrote to Elliott after the events that took place in the prologue. I loved that It’s About Time is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Dilynne and Elliott are facing that need to be resolved, and there is a plot twist that threatens Elliott’s career and his relationship with his father. I love everything that was revealed about the deal between Tori and Elliott’s father. I love Dilynne’s relationship with her foster parents, Carol and Nick. I love the surprises that are revealed after the plot twist and how they admit their real feelings for each other. I love how the storylines get so beautifully resolved and all the changes that Dilynne and Elliott make to have a life with one another and how they admit their feeling for each other. I love the ending of the love story, and all the changes that Dilynne and Elliott all willing to make in their lives because of their love for one another and everything that Dilynne is willing to do to have a life with Elliott. I love that Dilynne won the Best Restoration for the Porsche 356 at Motorlux and everything that Elliott does to support her at the car show. My favorite part of the story are the chapter titles and how they prepare you for the chapter. Another favorite part is how Harlow James incorporates the title of the book into their love story. I love all the descriptions of the Blossom Peak setting. It’s About Time is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Harlow James did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments as well as the plot twist and surprises that filled this page turner as well as those moments that make me laugh. I love the ending of their love story and Elliott’s proposal, the location, the surprise, and the engagement ring. It was the perfect ending of their love story. I love the bonus epilogue, especially the surprises, and the special moments that are included. It was the perfect series ending. I really enjoy how the book is written in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. I love all the characters in It’s About Time. They feel like family and friends. I enjoyed meeting all the characters in the series, all the interactions between the Elliott and his best friends, Henley, Fletcher, and Rhonan, the “Blackjack Brotherhood,” and Dilynne’s friendship with Laney, Vienna, and Elodie, and the family dynamic, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. It was an incredible farewell to Blossom Creek. Another favorite part is how Harlow James introduces the characters for her next Garnet Valley series. I cannot wait to read the new series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed It’s About Time, who does not love an enemies to lovers/fake engagement love story. It was such an enjoyable book to read. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.

I’ve been waiting for Dilynne and Elliot’s story since the beginning of wonderful author Harlow James’ Blossom Peak series. Now that it’s here I’m both happy and sad. Happy because – Aha! I knew it!! – that constant harsh antagonism and bickering was hiding some sparks after all. Sad because the friend group I’ve come to love is out of men; we’ve already had Fletcher and Laney’s story in All This Time, Henley and Elodie’s story in On Borrowed Time, and Rhonan and Vienna’s story in Test of Time. Elliot and Dilynne were the only ones left, and with Elliot’s humiliating disaster being left at the altar and Dilynne’s equally humiliating and disaster being betrayed by her partner both in business and their personal lives they’re both wary and don’t believe in love. Neither of them even planned to let themselves fall into a serious relationship ever again, much less get married, but author James kept tantalizing us with their little interactions and unsolicited snide comments about each other and kept us wondering – and hoping – for an HEA for these two.

In It’s About Time we – finally – get the full story: every sad, funny, frustrating, unexpected, heartbreaking, heartwarming, steamy detail. And it’s more perfect than I imagined.

Laney is Rhonan’s sister and Dilynne’s best friend. Dilynne is Henley’s little sister. Fletcher, Rhonan, Henley, Elliot, Laney and Dilynne grew up together in Blossom Peak. The “boys” have always been tight, including their stupid “stay away from my sister” pact which caused big problems for Laney and Fletcher. The pact was dissolved, but Dilynne is still the little sister Henley protected in some very tough, tragic times and the idea of her with Elliot doesn’t sit especially well. And in turns out that Dilynne is still carrying some pain and anger from something hurtful she overheard Elliot say in high school. Long time to hold a grudge, but it affected her self-confidence and self-esteem and propelled her to achieve the success she’s made of herself today.

Even though she supposedly hates Elliot, she made her distrust of his ex-fiancée Tori very clear and was surprisingly protective when he was dumped at the altar. When he can’t seem to pull himself out of his spiral of despair she makes it her mission to help him do just that. Whatever anger she still feels for him, she knows what it’s like to suffer a huge betrayal. And while she’s dragging him out of the house, making him limit his alcohol intake, forcing him to bathe and shave (even if it means the garden hose!) and to just start to put one foot in front of the other and move on with his life, those little sparks get a little hotter.

Elliot’s home life growing up wasn’t happy. His father is a greedy, unscrupulous lawyer, always criticizing and pushing Elliot and finding him come up short. His grandfather was another Thorne lawyer and a good man; the man Elliot loved, respected, and idolized. His mother was present in name only, pretending nothing was amiss as long as there was plenty of shopping money.

When his ex -fiancée Tori resurfaces, working at the family law firm, and says she wants to get back together, she’s sorry, she truly wants to get married, he knows he can’t trust her and wonders what her motive is; suddenly little clues start to come together and he suspects not only Tori but others and plots he never would have imagined. The resulting fake date and fake engagement scheme he and Dilynne enter into should benefit them both: stop whatever Tori is up to and Dilynne will have someone to attend the car auction with her to demonstrate to her own ex that she’s not devastated. She’s planning to show the Porsche she’s been rebuilding and win the competition but she needs someone in her corner.

Fake engagement, right? Ha ha ha. Whatever happened in high school to sever their relationship has deep roots, but so do the almost twenty years they’ve known each other. They are more alike than they realized. And sit back and enjoy, because this is where author Harlow James shines: two people trying to fight the magnetic attraction pulling them together while attempting to stick to the wacky plan they came up with. We’ve known all of these characters from the start and they all have important roles in each story. The friendship, the conflict they work to resolve and the feelings they fight hard to ignore. It’s About Time is the perfect wrap up to everything. It’s funny, the dialogue is as witty as ever, the plot keeps a steady course but throws in twists, turns and surprises you won’t see coming. Your heart will be full when you’ve finished reading, and your pulse will be racing from the steamy bits. The audiobook is performed in duet by narrators James Cassidy and Mollie Stark; their outstanding performances give you all the emotions; you’re not just reading or listening; you’re experiencing every moment. Thank you, Harlow James, for a wonderful series that has brought many hours of reading pleasure and for providing advance reading and listening copies of It’s About Time as part of your review team. I can’t wait to move on to the next series in Garnet Valley. I’m sure as she always does James will take us back occasionally to see what’s up with the characters we never really leave behind. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

4.25⭐️ 2.5🌶️ ARC REVIEW: 📖 IT’S ABOUT TIME 📖 by Harlow James ✨ This is the 4th and final book in the Blossom Peak series, so it’s bittersweet but also the perfect ending. I love this fictional town, and I adore the characters in this series. I have been waiting for Dilynne and Elliot’s story since book 1 and I loved them. Their banter is top notch. The friend group is top tier. Dilynne and Elliot want to avoid their exes, so she comes up with a plan for a fake engagement. They establish rules, like no sleepovers. But…Rules are meant to be broken. Also, they don’t like each other. Oops. 🤣 Dilynne is witty, diabolical, and kind of insane. 🤣 She doesn’t have a filter - I absolutely love her. He won’t admit it to her but he looks forward to her insults, and loves verbally sparring with her. I LOVED their chemistry, even if they were enemies at first they still were there for each other. She’s fiercely independent but Elliot gets her to let down her guard—Miss ‘I can do it myself’ meets Mr. ‘I know but let me’. Their relationship was well developed - from insecurity and heartbreak to friendship and love.

They’ve both been betrayed, and Dilynne doesn’t easily trust because she thinks men always change their minds, so he has to convince her he has true feelings. As a mechanic she’s used to men being threatened by her knowledge and strength, and Elliot is her biggest fan and champion. He proves to her that she can trust him. HE SHOWS UP FOR HER! She loves and protects people hard—finally she has someone that does that for her. What’s important to her is important to him. 👏🏻 And with Dilynne he discovers true happiness and the version of him he was meant to be. And when they finally give into the attraction, God damn his mouth is so freaking filthy. We get insults as foreplay, hood of a car fun, she’s his dessert, and ‘all fours’. 🫡 🥵🤭 Their enemies-to-lovers story is funny, swoony, spicy, heartwarming, and full of emotion.

Elliot was left at the altar, and Dilynne is there to help pick up the pieces. They don’t get along, aren’t friends (she likes to annoy him) but Dilynne is the sister of Elliot’s best friend Henley. Elliot is destroyed, but she keeps showing up and fighting with him to make him keep living. For months she would show up to check on him, she drops off food, and makes sure he was showering. She’s the one that suggests therapy. She gets under his skin, and doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. She wanted to make sure he knew he wasn’t alone. As their fake engagement progresses, the sexual tension also rises. She wants a man that supports her, doesn’t tear her down, and is proud to be with her, so she’s always kept up a shield.

She is mouthy and it is hilarious to see Elliot get riled up. When they finally do it (thinking they will get it out of their systems), it is so hot. 🥵 She doesn’t let people in/past her walls but she knows him better than he knows himself. It means something to him that she stayed even when it was messy and hard. She wants a man to accept her for being a strong woman - not threatened by it. The last man she trusted blindsided her. He is trying to understand who she really is - he sees her. She’s scared and not sure she is willing to risk her heart again. She’s always liked to keep control so she can’t get hurt but with Elliot she is letting go of some control. He continues to show up for her - proving to her that she can trust him.

❤️ She calls him Grumpzilla 🤣
❤️ He gets jealous
❤️ He remembers her favorite snacks
❤️ She secretly takes care of him/brings him baked goods to make him feel better
❤️ She stands up to his ex and dad
❤️ The small things turn out to be the big things
❤️ He has a surprisingly dirty mouth 👄
❤️ Sharing a bath 🛁
❤️ He steals her bras 🤫
❤️ Get on the bed/All fours 🫡

"So, here's my question to you. Would you like to eat first? Or would you like me to eat your pussy first, and dinner after?"

"I want you on all fours, Dilynne. I want to show you the benefit of wearing your hair down."
