Once I got past the first 77 pages, which are a detailed anthropological account of a small people group in Papua New Guinea, this book was a page-turner.

The story of a Wycliffe Bible Translators couple who spent 26 years learning the language and culture, creating an alphabet, teaching reading, and translating the New Testament plus some Old Testament books is fascinating!

The obstacles they faced seemed unending but the power of God’s Word was more powerful.

A very inspiring story of missionaries who invest years of their life to bring the bible to the Binumariens in their own language. It also highlights the necessity to bring the gospel in the native language of the people. One comes to appreciate the fact that we have the bible in so many languages.

What makes this book even greater is the fact that the missionaries are the grandparents to a good friend of mine which makes it so real.

Would definitely recommend to anyone even remotely interested in missionary work!

Like many other stories about missionaries in remote places, this one is a page-turner on several levels.
