Bailey is a troubled girl. Ever since childhood she has enjoyed manipulating people in order to get her own way. If that doesn’t work, she has no trouble taking it by force. Once in college, she realizes she may be a sociopath. Instead of scaring her, she found the new revelation empowering.
While perfecting her killer instinct, Bailey develops a taste for human flesh. Can she feed her every growing appetite while staying below the authorities’ radar? Or will her thirst for blood be her undoing?
If you need a horror fix, read this book! It's NOT for the faint of heart. Bailey likes to hurt people... A lot! This story takes you through the birth of a serial killer, with extremely graphic torture scenes, and a detailed accounting of her innermost thoughts, as she commits horrific acts of violence on her fellow man. A self-diagnosed sociopath, Bailey feels empty inside. This is her search for an inner purpose. A coming of age story with a bloody twist.
Tim Miller has given his readers another strong female lead that you DON'T want to mess with or pick up at a bar ;-)
I LOVED this crazy book!!! Bailey was a woman who 1. has some issues... and 2. is not one to be underestimated!!! Tim Miller has a way of writing stories about women scorned that leave readers cheering out loud when revenge is served -- this book is no different!! I was hooked from the very first page and did not want to put it down. I am really hoping that Tim follows up this story with a sequel!!!
I highly recommend this book if you like blood, guts, and gore!! Tim Miller does not disappoint in that area!! This is a great read that flies by and leaves readers itching to get another Tim Miller book into their hands!! I am highly anticipating reading another one of his books!!! Great job Mr. Miller!!!
Highly recommended to any horror fan, major gore, psychotic main character! I loved the use of the legend too, overall great, I'll be looking out for Isis!
This was another terrific horror book from Tim Miller. I enjoyed the story and found it to be quite the page turner as it went along. I was eager to see if revenge would be had or if Bailey would be found out. Lady Cannibal ranks up there for me as one of Tim Miller's best books.
Ein typischer Tim Miller. Einfach geschrieben, kurzweilig, spannend, einfach nur brutal! Ein Stern Abzug weil sich keine explizite Szene wirklich hervorhob.
Bailey Hart is one messed up woman, that's for sure. She's out for revenge, and she will screw you in the worst way imaginable... literally!
Once she's put not the Wendigo, she's changed. It's always been inside her, but now the murderess is set free.
Cannibal - Check Crazy- Check Torturer- Check
She'll kill anyone who gets in her way, and I mean anyone.
Lady Cannibal is a great, screwed up book. She'll make you cringe. There isn't no limit for her. Having a character named after you, who is brutally murdered and mutilated, is freaking awesome. Thank you Tim Miller for making my deranged dream come true. Lol! I hope we see more of Bailey.
The menu was wonderful, knuckles a la mode, character development was divine, but dessert was torture. A punch of salt more, and it would have been perfect.
First taste of Miller. Cooked up, served and devoured it in one night. (on an android phone of all things too)
Bailey's legit bat-shit crazy, yet don't know just how crazy she really is...yet. I got the impression that there was not much she wouldn't do, but even then there were things that she did that managed to shock. (And just when I was starting to like her too.)
It's pretty much non-stop action to the end, think a Jason Statham movie, if Jason was Jeffery Dahmer and also an attractive girl who'd eat your heart, figuratively and literally.
Now I'm off to cook up some bacon and eggs. I'm hungry.
Tim Miller is a new to me author whose books have quickly turned into little detours from my usual romance/kindle porn/urban fantasy/Dark Romance reads.
The first of his books that I read were from his "Country Club" series, and found them to be both filled with line crossing gore, and a story that was engaging.
Although Tim's books would be considered horror they don't scare. Really, the books are kind of like going to the roadside freakshow that you go to when the drive is long and you need a break from the norm.
Lady Cannibal is about Baily, a woman who learns at a young age that she has the ability to manipulate others to her own gain and amusement.
That she became a lawyer only to arm herself with a way of getting out the trouble her future no doubt holds, only shows the length that she goes to protect her ability to treat others like a kid who salts snails and pulls the wings off of fly's just because its fun to watch.
While fending off a would be date rapist Baily learns that she has a propensity for murder, and decides to see how far she can go and how much she can get away with. Thus to this end she manages to discover that she also has a taste for human flesh.
While Lady Cannibal is a short read, it is packed with extended scenes of torture that Eli Roth would be squirmy watching- that I used that comparison is actually a bit funny if you read the book.
There is no character development, nor invested interest in Baily or those she kills. Actually, I spent the book wondering when is she going to get caught, and being mildly surprised with the lines she skips happily over.
Although I really shouldn't be surprised but in the end no one is safe from her in the book. There are a few unintended victims, but really, the whole point was illistrating that Baily is aware that she is a psychopath and has no problems with it. She fully embraces her choices, and has no regrets or qualms offing old people and little children.
Like I said, this book and others written by Tim Miller (the shorter ones) are basically the roadside attractions that lure in weary road travelers looking for a brief break from the extended trips across long distances. You pull over, have a look and a giggle (that is if you are a sick and twisted person like myself), then get back to your intended destination.
Lady Cannibal and other Tim Miller books are Kindle Unlimited, so I had no problems giving them a read. The best way to know if you would like his books is if you like the film version of the genre. Do you like Hostel, or other Eli Roth books? You should like this.
I have to laugh about using Eli Roth as the borameter but no one else seemed to be comparible.
Thnak you to Goodreads for somehow getting me into this genre.
