This book is published under the original series name. The new editions are published under the series name: Sweet Home Alabama

Jessica Montgomery has always lived by three simple rules: stay calm, stay professional, stay in control. Working tirelessly to make it into the executive ranks of her family's business, her dream job of CFO is within reach-if she can convince one stubborn and sexy restaurateur to take her offer and manage Montgomery Industries' flagship restaurant in Atlanta.

On the surface Logan Wilde is all good-old-boy charm and humor, but he can't seem to outrun the hell-raising reputation of his high school years. Although he has thought about leaving his hometown in Falcon, Alabama, he has grown to love the town, his restaurant, and his part-time gig coaching the football team.

Jessica estimates it will take a week tops to get Logan Wilde's signature on her generous offer, but their first meeting is anything but professional. Logan shreds Jessica's control and unleashes a passion she didn't know existed even as a deeper connection between them takes root. When her family's manipulations threaten to tear them apart, Jessica has to decide whether her dream is really the CFO job or the man who has unselfishly offered his love.

4.5 - "don't we all have some crazy in us?" Stars!

I discovered Laura Trentham’s wonderful writing style, when I read the first book in the Falcons Football Series earlier this year, and since finishing Slow and Steady Rush I have been waiting impatiently for Logan Wilde to get his story in Caught Up in the Touch, and boy was it worth the wait.

"You take care of business, I’ll wait for you."

Logan Wilde figured a little in book one, being the local bar and restaurant owner, Darcy’s cousin, and one of the Falcon Football coaches, but as the story wasn’t centered around him it was just a scratch on the surface of what this man is all about.

One of the things I like about this authors work is that she takes the love story between her characters and weaves so much else through it, the town and people of Falcon, Alabama, figure prominently again in this one, as well as the Schools Football team. This installment in the series, like its predecessor, focuses on the couple, but also expands the series as a whole.

"You don’t have to give me all your secrets right now, darlin’. But, when you do, I’ll handle them with care. I promise."

Jessica Montgomery is from out of town, and to say her initial meeting with Logan doesn’t really go to plan would be an understatement. I loved the confidence of this woman, but it was just the first layer of her character, and Laura gave her really great depth with her past, and the familial issues that she introduced as the story progressed, but what I really liked was that although they were integral, they were only a small part of the story as a whole and not the dominant theme, it kept the angst and drama at an even level, and didn’t detract from the relationship building between her and Logan. And these two together, hot, sexy and pretty damn funny at points.

"Can you die from sexual frustration?"...

"I don’t know, but I heard-tell you can go blind from too much masturbating. Thanks to you, I already need glasses."

I am falling in love with this series, I don’t say this often, but they are books I know I would happily go back and read again and again, I think it is because that although there is a lot going on in them, you feel like you are a part of it, a part of the town and not just a casual observer on the side-lines of the field.

Melting Into You; Alec and Lilliana’s book is due, November this year and if the sizzling chemistry you get a little hint of between them in this book is anything to go buy, I think we are looking at another winner come release day!

Jessica works for her father's restaurant management company and has dreams of being the CFO. Her father sends her to Falcon, Alabama - he demands that if she wants to CFO position, she needs to get restaurant owner Logan Wilde to sign on with them. From their very first meeting, nothing goes as planned for Jessica. Logan has a reputation for being wild from his high school years. He got himself into a lot of trouble back then and people in their small town don't forget. He's a different man now, he owns a successful restaurant and is an assistant coach of the football team. He's happy with his life and has no plans to leave Falcon.

My favorite thing about this book was Logan Wilde. I love heroes like Logan - he's sexy and strong but he's also got a sensitive and vulnerable side. He's like the perfect man, he's patient, sweet, good with kids (high school kids anyways), and he can cook!! This book had some amazing sexual tension and chemistry between these characters from the very first time they met. I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance! This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Each book is about a different couple and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

When I finished reading Slow and Steady Rush back in March, I could not wait for Logan's story ... and here it is :)

Jessica Montgomery is on a mission. She has to get restaurant owner, Logan Wilde, to sign on with her father's restaurant management Company. She always wanted the CFO position in her father's Company, and this is what she has to do to get it!

Logan Wilde is what you would call the town sweetheart (if you can call a guy that lol) .... his youth bad-boy shenanigans are no longer, he's grown into quite the charming man. He coaches football for the local HS, he cooks, he's charming, kind, good looking and all around nice guy.

Jessica Montgomery is the power suit in this story. On the outside, she's all business from how she dresses to how she presents herself. But on the inside, there's a whole other person. A person perfect for our hometown boy, Logan.

When the two first meet, it doesn't go as planned. So unplanned, that Jessica doesn't even figure out who Logan actually is until later! ... Let the games begin ... LOL

Laura Trentham did an excellent job of writing a small-town romance story. It was simple and easy without too much drama. Yes, both Logan and Jessica have things to work thru and there are 'society' issues that are presented as part of the story, but none of it took away from putting a smile on my face thru the whole story.

Yep, did it again. Started a series in the middle. Logan aka Mountain Man was simply yummy and the boy can cook. What's not to love. Did quite buy Jessica's life after leaving Daddy. She's too type A to sit around reading romance books all day. Loved the library old lady spies. I can't wait for the next book cause I know sparks are going to fly if it's who I think it is.

Caught Up in the Touch (Falcon Football #2) by Laura Trentham is a pretty typical contemporary romance with a main couple you root for. The hero and heroine have endearing and unique personalities, but the story has a been there, done that feel to it. Readers of small town romance will probably enjoy this one, including a hero, who loves to cook and who the heroine nicknames, “Mountain Man”.

Jessica, for all intensive purposes, is a shrewd business woman. Her power suits and high heels are her costume as she works for her cold and at times boorish father, who also gives her personal jabs that does a number on her self esteem. But Jessica hides her feelings because she wants to rise to the top of her father’s company. She has the experience and is dedicated to her work. But her father dangles that carrot constantly over her head. Montgomery Sr. is surrounded by “yes men” and is never told no. But Logan Wilde has done that. Senior wants Logan to come work for him and operate a flagship restaurant. In order for Jessica to get what she wants, her father sends to her Logan’s backwater town in Alabama to convince Logan to work for the Montgomery name by any means necessary.

Jessica treats this as a mission. Logan is a hometown boy through and through. When he was a teen, he was a a bit of a rebel, but after joining the army, and being much more considerate to his loving grandma, he matured and left behind his rebellious ways. He’s opened a restaurant in his home town, where he does all the cooking. He’s also the coach for the high school football team. Logan loves his life and doesn’t want anything more. But then Jessica comes roaring into it. When she first meets him, she has no clue who he is. Logan had a rough morning and is scruffy (think hot beard), dirty and exhausted. He doesn’t tell Jessica who he is. She thinks he’s just a member of Logan’s staff. She nicknames him Mountain Man in her head because he’s so tall, large and bearded (rowl). When she has car problems, he lends her a helping hand, including a place to stay for the time she’s there- a new B&B run by a friend. Eventually she figures out her Mountain Man is Logan, and that’s where the fun starts for both of them.

Jessica tries her hardest to convince Logan to take her father’s very generous offer. Logan refuses to be convinced, but he likes having Jessica around. She’s “Jessie” to him, and he’s very turned on by her long legs and her high heels. She also not skittish about hanging out with him in the woods when he wants to get away (even in those high heels she loves wearing). They bond, flirt and then their attraction blooms to the point that Jessica wants to chuck it all away and stay with Logan in his backwater town. But here are big obstacles for these two. Jessica’s father wants to win, and has a card underneath his sleeve regarding Logan’s father. Plus there might be a steroid problems among Logan’s players on the football team he has to deal with. Plus can Jessica give up everything she’s worked so hard for?

Caught Up in the Touch is a simple love story with nice characters. Even with the subplot of drug and steroid use in high school sports, and Logan’s family issues, as well as Jessica’s tempestuous relationship with her father, there aren’t many grand gestures here or explosive action. Logan and Jessica have good chemistry together, but they take their time before they act on their attraction (lots of kissing before the sex). But the “I love you’s” come on too fast to be believable. But overall, I did enjoy Caught Up in the Touch. The ending is too pat and predictable, but it has a HEA, which after all, works.

Caught Up in the Touch is a solid romance with likable characters. A pretty okay read to spend a few hours lost in.

What if what you have worked your whole life for a goal, just to discover that maybe it wasn’t really what you wanted? In a roundabout way, that’s what happens to Jessica Montgomery in Caught Up in the Touch.

Jessica is 29 and has spent her life trying to measure up to the expectations of her father who is also her boss. He sends her to Falcon to woo Logan Wilde to work for their company. Things don’t go as planned and Jessica ends up changing her entire life.

Jessica and Logan are both great characters; they both have struggled with themselves in the past and have come out stronger. I loved their interactions with each other and how they went from slightly adversarial to friends to a couple. One of my favorite themes in the book is one of acceptance and support. You see it in the relationship between Logan and Jessica, but also in the relationships of some of the secondary characters.

Caught Up in the Touch is the second book in the Falcon Football series, but it didn’t feel like it. For starters, it takes place roughly 2 years after the first book and while the main characters from the first book make appearances, their story doesn’t impact that of Logan and Jessica. This is an incredibly well written book that is both fun and heartfelt; I am looking forward to coming back to Falcon to see what happens next.

Jessica Montgomery has big dreams and one of them is to be the CFO of her families company. Fortunately her big chance has finally come unfortunately to get the job she needs to get Logan Wilde to commit to her families company.

Logan Wildes' life is finally coming together. His restaurant is a success, the football team he coaches is getting back into the towns good graces and now a sexy stranger comes into town and shakes up his life.

Will Jessica convince Logan to leave his small town and go to the big city or will Jessica get drawn into Logans small town life and find out exactly what small towns really have to offer? Read and find out!

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

This is the 2nd book that I have read from Laura Trentham and I really enjoyed every second of it. I always respect the fact that Laura Trentham always touches on subjects that other authors shy away from. My hat really goes off to her on how she hits on these sensitive subjects without making the book dark and boring.

I loved Jessica and Logan as a couple and from the beginning you know that some of the things revealed during the story are going to ruin there relationship but does Trentham stop there?...Nope there are more twists and turns that will blow your mind.

While reading this book I laughed and I cried and I loved every second of it. I can not wait for the next book. Please continue to bring on the heat because the romance world needs an Author not afraid to bring on something daring and different. Great job!

Caught Up in the Touch is the follow-up of Slow and Steady Rush and is the second book in the Falcon Football series. The story follows Alabama chef Logan Wilde - a reformed bad boy, assistant coach to the local football team and a southern gentleman - and Jessica Montgomery - a hard-at-work businesswoman, daughter of the boss and southern lady. Logan had a lot of problems growing up before going to juvie camp. Jessica has a sexist father - read here a big a*****e father - who undermines her at every turn and tells her that if she ever wants to be CFO of the family corporation she has to convince Logan to sign to be the chef of one of the family's restaurant. After a rather rocky start, Jessica and Logan begin a steamy frienship, leading on to much more.

After two chapters, I wanted to hit Jessica's father - I know it's a character but what an a** - and I was hoping that she would stand up for herself. I knew it would get better - I hoped anyway - and I forged on. This book was fantastic. The characters had some hard and amazing backstory, they had backbone and grit. Even if the story took place on a very short stretch of time, I didn't feel like I was short-changed on the story and characters development side of thing. I loved Logan and Jessica, they were so real, so touching. Now that I said all that, I'm gonna call my dad and tell him how much I love him and that he is absolutely the best dad ever - yep, it's that kind of book.

I love small town romances. They just seem more close knitted and cozy.

Jessica works in her fathers company and has big dreams on becoming the cfo. Her mission is to get Logan to sign on with her fathers company and she will become Cfo. The problem is that once she starts to get to know Logan and starts to love Falcon she realizes that dreams can change and things become more important.

I love when Jessica first meets Logan and she is confused by him. Since they met nothing has gone like she thought it would. Logan loves where he is and loves cooking.

Although had some issues when he was younger is a different man now. He is successful in business and a coach, but sometimes when living in a small town some things aren't as easy to forget.

Logan was sexy and determined but he also had this sensitive sweet side that I just fell in love with. Jessica and Logan just have this chemistry between them but all they share is kisses for a while which was sweet. It made the whole relationship go slow and felt more realistic.

I loved how Jessica finally sees what is in front of her and is willing to give it a chance. Logan really did help her decide what is more important and she needed to do what really made her happy in the long run. That's how good these two were for one another.

Overall I really enjoyed reading about these two and getting to know Logan on a deeper level. The characters were well written and this romance is definitely worth the read. I can't wait to read the next book in the series! Hopefully these books get better and better as the series continues.

I'm really loving this series! I loved the first book a bit more than this one, but I still really enjoyed this book. I loved Logan; he is just adorable, and he definitely spices things up with his hot manly side. He is such a sweetheart! I loved the meeting scene between him and Jessica, and I think they complement each other nicely, and I loved how they were there for each other to offer unconditional support. I liked Jessica, and I like that she stands up for herself, and her confidence begins to grow throughout the story. They definitely have some sizzling intimate scenes, very sexy! This book actually goes into some deep issues, and I think the author did a good job of portraying these issues, and it added an extra layer to the story. Just like with the first book, I love the small town setting, and having glimpses of the characters from the first book was great to read as well, and I also am really looking forward to Lilliana's book; her story sounds very interesting, so I going to be on the look out for that.

One paragraph in and I was immediately pulled back into the small town of Falcon, and so happy for the opportunity to revisit some familiar residents, and also meet a few new ones too. The author does an amazing job of developing very relatable and likable characters that you can't help but get attached to. I have liked Logan since the first installment of the series, and it was great to see him find his happy ending after all he has endured, and I think Jessie was the perfect woman for him! I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story, and I plan to revisit Falcon just as soon as the next installment of the series is released!

This series is definitely one of the best literary discoveries I have made in a while, and I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for the next book!

When in the outdoors and needing to go to the bathroom Jessica needs to get creative, "it’s… it’s… my panties.” He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times. She threw her hands up in a what-the-hell gesture. “Guys pee and they jiggle it, right? Women don’t have that luxury. It’s a lot more complicated." When his woman gives him the go ahead the boy goes ahead, "of course, I want you. I wanted you before I knew who you were. When you were rough and filthy and my Mountain Man.” His rumbling growl vibrated through her body . He dropped a hand to her thigh and rucked her skirt higher." Logan is always giving his woman attention and splatters her with love, "getting feisty again? I don’t think I could get it up even if the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders pranced through here buck naked and high -kicking, but I’d be happy to take care of you again." I enjoyed this book I loved Logan

This book was an action pack full of goodness. i love anything that has to fo with football and especially if their is a romance in a small town. Trentham did not disappoints. This was the first of her books that I have read and I need to go once click the first in the series. Small town romances are the best everyone has your back and in this book Logan found that kind of love from his town. Jessica being new to the town also found a new love for small things instead of stuffy uptight city living. I don't want to give too much a way in this books because it has lots of twists and turns, but I do want you to know one thing and that is this book is AWESOME.

Loved this one! A great small town romance that is well written with characters that are entertaining and captivating. Logan is pure perfection. Humble, kind, and with an inner strength that guides him through everything life throws at him. Jessica takes a little time to warm up to but once she lets her guard down and we get to know her, we understand why she is the way she is. I could feel the chemistry between these two and I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve. I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a good romance!

I loved the story and the characters. What I loved most were the people of Falcon. I am from a small town. Sometimes you don't like the small closed in feeling but people forgive easier and care more than anywhere else. Football is another fun part of this story making another layer to Logan and Jessie's life. Dads are a large part of their story too. The dads are wrong but both Logan and Jessica have given them respect but made their own way as necessary for self respect and growth. So much packed in here but not preachy at all. Logan is now my "mountain man"!

Another great read from Laura Trentham in the Falcoln Football series.
I loved Logan and Jessica, I thought it was wonderful the way their relationship developed and how it taught them their own self worth (I particularly liked Jessica's confrontation with her father and the revelations that followed). I also liked seeing Darcy and Robbie again as well as other character's from the town. I really like Trentham's writing style and the glimpses she gives of living in a small town in Alabama. Highly recommended.

Caught up in the Touch
Laura Trentham

This was such a nice, believable story about falling in love when you least expect it. I was so into the story and learning about the small town and the characters. Everything happened at a nice easy pace that I, as a reader, could buy. I love the small town feel and the author captured this so perfectly in this book. Logan and Jessie were made for each other. They hold each other together by bringing out the best in the other. I would definitely read more about the town of Falcon if the writer has additional books!

Caught Up in the Touch is the second book of the Sweet Home Alabama series by Ms Trentham. It’s pretty typical and there are no big surprises, but it’s still fun! Jessica is sent to Falcon, AL to recruit an up and coming chef to their chain of restaurants, namely the one in Atlanta, GA. Instead of the up and coming chef, the first person she meets when she reaches Falcon is Mountain Man; at least that’s what she calls him. It isn’t until later she finds out who he really is.

Logan has spent his life trying to either get his father’s attention, to figure out a way to tick him off or to prove he doesn’t give a damn about him. His father is his one sore spot. It’s the one thing he’s never quite gotten over. His mention of his father is also about the only thing that he completely loses it over. Couple his daddy issues with Jessica’s daddy issues and you get an interesting story.

Caught Up in the Touch is a quick and easy read with easy to like characters. There’s just enough going on to keep you interested and intrigued, but it never really goes over the top or puts you on the edge of your seat. It is fun, though!

Caught Up In The Touch is the second book set in Falcon, Alabama. I was so excited to be back in this environment again. This time the spark is around Logan Wilde and Jessica Montgomery. Their initial meeting does not go as planned but, it is the perfect set up for the dynamic of their relationship.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jessica comes to the town as a woman on a mission. The restaurant he has opened has become very successful and Logan has managed to get in the press a few times. Jessica's father wants Logan to work for them and it is her job to bring him on board.

Logan has come home and he loves his new life. His restaurant has become quite successful and he loves coaching football. He never really considers Jessica's offer and for that I really appreciated him. He could have made more money and been more successful, but it's not what he wanted.

Both Jessica and Logan are out to prove a point. Jessica is trying to prove to her father that she is capable of being a good CFO and Logan is trying to prove to the whole town that he is not the screw up everyone thinks he is. Somewhere along the way Logan and Jessica become friends and then much more than that. I think they both surprised each other when they realized the other was not what they thought they would be. While they may have not made great first impressions (I found their first meeting to be quite funny) on each other, they quickly realize that they are very compatible. Like really compatible. I loved both of them so I had my fingers crossed the whole time and would give a little fist pump/cheer when I like what happened.
“Thanks for dinner.” When he didn’t answer, she turned and walked toward the porch. He was at her side, his hands pushed deep into his pockets, his face serious. Their feet hit the steps in tandem. She’d never been walked to her door before. The gesture made her feel special.

A few slivers of moonlight broke under the dark portico. Did he feel the same electric longing shooting from her chest until she thought she might be electrocuted? So what if this attraction were ill-advised and ridiculous? She turned to face him.

Kiss me. The words threatened to explode from her like someone suffering from Turrets. Her tongue darted over her lips.

As if he was a mind reader, in a husky voice, he asked, “May I kiss you?”

She closed her eyes and reached out for him, feeling as if he’d offered her a Big Gulp after days of wandering the desert.

Based on his behavior all evening, she expected a gentlemanly kiss, a soft touch, like his kiss in the woods. Instead, he came in like a tornado, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her against his body, chest to knees. Her back bowed over one of his arms, and his lips came down on hers with a rough edge and burning intent. Perhaps his intention was her surrender.

What he didn’t realize was that she had already admitted defeat. She wanted him. Not because of a job, not because of her father, or his father. Just…because.

One of his hands cupped her nape while the other supported her back. His tongue flicked at her lips, and she opened her mouth, tilting her head and grabbing his shoulders with both of her hands, clutching and pulling the soft cotton of his shirt.

The hand on her back moved lower, over her bottom, and he pushed his pelvis into hers. Something hard pressed against her belly. An erection. His erection. He wanted her too. She slid her tongue alongside his.

Her mind refused to be quieted. How long had it been since she’d allowed passion to wrest her control away? What would happen if she did? Would he hurt her? Would she hurt him?

Hush, her body hissed.

(Side note: I love when a guy asks the woman if he can kiss her...I don't know why. I just do. So well done Logan.)

Like in the first book, there is a secondary story line involving a member of the football team. Logan discovers that one of his players is taking a banned substance and that plays into the story of Logan wanting to prove that he isn't the screw up everyone thinks he is. Not that I have experience with this topic, but I thought the author handled it well. You see these types of stories in the news quite frequently and it's good to see it addressed in a book.

This book is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read the next one. It's one of those love/hate relationships that I enjoy so much.

Received arc in exchange for an honest review; original post can be found at:

If you read book one in this series, SLOW AND STEADY RUSH, you kind of have a backstory on our lead male, Logan. If you haven't read S&SR, no worries -- this isn't the type of series that builds off of one another. I suggest you read book one, but only because I enjoyed it so much.

Logan is a good guy -- I loved him in S&SR and I really loved him in CAUGHT UP IN THE TOUCH. Logan had was raised by his grandmother, Ada, along with his cousin, Darcy -- our heroine in S&SR. Their relationship is one that I totally, completely enjoy. They may be cousins, but they treat one another like siblings. After a delinquent few years in his teens, Logan joined the military, where he met Robbie Dalton -- our hero in S&SR. Dalt and Logan coach the local high school football team -- and now we're getting to the beginning of the school year.

Logan, in addition to coaching high school football, owns and runs Adaline's (named for his grandmother). His staff is made up of a number of people, but many of his busers and such are his football players, so it's nice to see those relationships and watch as Logan is coach on both the field and in life. A good looking man with a ton of culinary talent, he and Adaline's has been features in a number of magazines, and because of one such article in Southern Living, Jessica Montgomery's father wants Logan to come work for their company.

Logan has said no to Reginald on more than one occasion -- to which Jessica did not blame him, if the numbers she saw that were offered were any indication. But now her father is having her go down to Falcon and sign him -- if she accomplishes this one thing, she will have better odds at getting the promotion she wants. If not? She can kiss her CFO desires goodbye.

We watch Jessica grow immensely in this book. She starts out as a woman who desires acceptance and allows her father/boss to walk all over her. He snickers and treats her like a lowly female in the board room, implying that she should flirt and use her womanly ways to get Logan to sign. He essentially harasses his own daughter, and I couldn't help but feel terrible for Jessica. Yet she put up with it, only because she knew she was capable of the CFO position and would do anything to get it.

When Logan and Jessica meet the first time, Logan is coming off of two weeks in the woods -- his home away from home. He prefers the solitude. Watching these two's interactions was so much fun. Neither introduces themselves and Jessica starts to call Logan "Mountain Man" -- which eventually becomes her little pet name for him (love it). When they do exchange names, Logan starts to call her Jessie, much to her dislike -- and eventually it grows on her, as she slowly grows into the lifestyle in Falcon. I much preferred Jessica in the laid back atmosphere that Logan and Falcon give her.

This book covers a few things -- in the restaurant life, in the football life, in the romance department, and in the familial approval department. I loved the Darcy and Dalt parts -- while Darcy and Dalt obviously have Logan's back for anything and everything, seeing them help Jessica and Logan was lovely.

I've truly enjoyed this series thus far and cannot wait to read more!

SYNOPSIS

REVIEW:  CAUGHT UP IN THE TOUCH BY LAURA TRENTHAM

Caught Up in the Touch (Falcon Football, #2) by Laura TrenthamMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Jessica and Logan each have something to prove. Jessica is intent on obtaining her place in the family business and Logan wants to be seen as more than an upstart jock. Hard to do in a town where everyone knows your name and your reputation proceeds you. Logan was every woman's dream. A handsome, caring and funny man wanting to do the right thing. Jessica is a more complicated character. She is willing to do whatever it takes as long as the end goal gets her where she wants to be. Laura Trentham uses two complete opposites to show her readers the importance of growth, life, love and happiness. Caught Up in the Touch is a look at small town life and big city goals. This series is a win. I received an ARC for an honest review.(www.goodreads.com/review/list/2555691...)
