I’ve long been a fan of Penny’s information, and these books are no different. Here, she lays out a practical, no-nonsense approach to the inner workings of Amazon. I appreciate, more than anything, that she is someone who practices what she preaches—as a time-tested professional in book marketing—which creates a sense of confidence that her methods aren’t just half-baked theories or experiments, but practices that have the weight of experience behind them. Some of the info here won’t be news to anyone who’s been studying online marketing, but I came away with a number of practicable tips that I’ve never heard of or used previously. Well worth the read.

An excellent guide to Amazon, I think this book would be useful to both new and establish authors possibly slightly more useful to new authors as it starts with the basics like how Amazon really works. I particularly like the useful lists that are included in the book. Such as lists of useful reviewers, hashtags to use and many many more other handy tools for authors. I will be recommending this book to a lot of my indie author friends. Fab and more importantly practically useful read.

I requested this book for review out of curiosity, because a lot of books claim to have the magic secret to book sales and most of them have similar advice, so I wanted to see if the grand claims in the title had anything different to offer.

A lot of the familiar advice about building an author platform was there, but what was different about this book was that instead of just advising authors about tagging their books, it gave some good advice about HOW to tag their books effectively. I got an author friend to test some of the theory and at first, it worked. Her books came up within the first few pages of chosen search terms.

Of course the real trick to that is determining what words people are likely to search on to find your kind of book, but advice for that is given too.

Accompanying the book is a companion book about getting reviews. This was mostly familiar techniques; asking appropriate Amazon reviewers, joining review sites on reader sites, etc. My one niggle was the emphasis on Goodreads, which I would personally tell any author to tread very carefully on.

Overall a good choice if you're going to buy just one book on indie book marketing. It has all the advice the others do plus results of the author's own experiments, and a link to her blog where you can keep up on changes in algorithms.

Good tips

Easy to read and put the suggestions into practice. Good book for a newly published writer and for those who have a book but are looking to improve their marketing skills.

The book does have images and they are difficult to read.

I acquired this book after listening to a couple of webinars by the author, Penny Sansevieri. I definitely recommend this book to all authors who are trying to understand and penetrate the complicated Amazon world. Although, much as I might want to do so, I doubt I'll ever sell books by the truckload, Ms. Sansevieri has certainly given me tools to help increase my potential to do so.

I'm glad I purchased this book!!!

When I purchased this book I was looking for a way to get my novel out to a larger mass of readers. What I got out this book is so much more. I was better able to understand the world of Amazon Publishing services. I've applied what I've learned from this book and I have seen a buzz and ebook traffic increase. I recommend it to new and seasoned authors alike.

Let’s face it if we want to sell books then Amazon is the premiere place to sell them. The problem is not all of us know exactly the proper steps to take to get maximum exposure and get our books , not only out there, but sold and sold well. Now we can breathe a sigh of relief Penny C. Sansevieri has created the ultimate guide for mastering the Amazon marketing system. Ms. Sansevieri tells us how to 1) Get top visibility for your book on Amazon, 2) Leverage a secret tool to get hundreds of reader reviews, 3) Use Kindle Unlimited to your greatest advantage, 4) Use keywords and book descriptions that puts your book in front of tons of buyers and 5) Identify and locate secret categories that drive bigger sales. In many ways the answer to the question, “How do I sell a lot of books on Amazon?” is similar to the answer to the old joke question “How do I get to Carnegie Hall?” The answer to the latter is “Practice, practice, practice” and the answer to the former is “Write a great book!”
There is one reality that the author barely mentions and that is to sell a lot of books you have to have created something people want to buy. Absent that, even the most expertly run publicity campaign will not get you to the goals you have set.
Having said that, let’s continue on the assumption that you do in fact have a quality book. If that is the case, then this book will provide considerable aid. That is in fact what the author has done. The novice indie author knows very little about how to do things, the skills that allow you to create a good book are of little help in navigating your way through the overall pathways of the Amazon maze.
None of what you can do is really all that hard, Amazon makes most author operations rather easy, even for the novice. However, doing things like the proper selection of keywords, adding an author page and making respectable contact with quality reviewers is more an art that it is an algorithm. I am both a high ranked reviewer as well as an independent author and most of my education has been “on the job” rather than from consultation with an experienced person.
If you are an independent author, you will find this book very helpful. There was nothing new to me, but if I had read this book some time ago I would have avoided a few significant missteps as I entered the world of being an indie author. Generating publicity is hard and this book will help.

This book was made available for free for review purposes and this review also appears on Amazon.

As one who has been reviewing books for years and one who may pursue the possibility of writing books in time, this book was a great, simple, practical read. I was completely impressed with all the websites, screenshots, and advice the author gave. In fact, I think that anyone who wants to be an author should read and follow the advice of this book. This is one of those "must-read" books. The organization of the book is user-friendly, and I plan on referring to this book in the future. This is a much-needed book in the new world of publishing and selling books.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

Being an author, and having done well enough to make at least a semi-decent living at it, I am always interested in how other people go about getting their books an edge over the others on the vast Amazon shelves.

Ms. Sansevieri has done an excellent job of compiling some tips and hints (I won't call them tricks) to get your books in the hands of more readers. While I have tried and use many of these things mentioned, there were some new angles I had not thought of. The under use of keywords is a real eye opener and worth the book all by itself.

While she made a few points I did not see as being accurate (free books are a crapshoot at best in the over-glutted market, in my opinion) there was still a lot here to digest. Very worth the read.

This is a very helpful book for new, and I guess already published authors too. It contains a lot of hints and tips to help you sell more books. Reasonable prices, key words etc. This is a book I plan on re-reading in the near future and keeping close by at all times. Very informative and easily explained too.

I have never sold anything on Amazon, I have always found it to be intimidating, after reading this I feel I have learned a lot of important information about how to make the most of the tools that Amazon provide. Normally, for me at least, if I sell something online it’s just a case of short description an image and a price – that’s it. But now, it’s going to be different.

I love how Penny “talks” she explains things in a simple way were everyone can understand. There are also pictures included if you feel you are getting a little lost, which I find is a great help. There is so so much more mentioned in this book. I would highly recommend it.

I don’t know if I’m actually going to sell books by the truckload (how do you load e-books on a truck?), but this book offers plenty of clues on how to sell more books through the mega-company where almost everyone shops these days. Take keywords, those descriptive words or phrases we can attach to our books so people doing searches can find them. Mine were all wrong. You have to choose keywords that people actually search for and then embed those keywords in everything you write about your book. She tells how to use Amazon’s author pages, how those suggested books show up under the book you’re looking at, how Amazon rankings work, how to get reviews and what to do with them, how to work Goodreads to make more sales, and more. This is a very useful book which has already led me to revamp my own Amazon listings in the hope that if I don’t sell a truckload at least I might fill a shopping cart.

This guide dives deep into mastering high-volume book sales on Amazon, making it surprisingly actionable even for newcomers. Its strength lies in presenting proven tactics for sourcing inventory, optimizing listings, and generating truckload reviews through smart marketing outreach. The conversational tone and step‑by‑step process make the approach feel attainable. On the downside, the focus on quantity may underplay the importance of profitability per title, and the aggressive review‑gathering strategies could backfire if not managed ethically. Some sections assume a level of upfront capital and infrastructure that not all readers may have. Additionally, because online retail evolves quickly, a few techniques may feel dated or require adaptation. It’s vital to study competitors on Amazon to benchmark pricing, spot trends, analyze review patterns and identify under‑served niches before committing to large inventory buys.

If Penny writes a book on selling book,I read it .I had already read the last edition of this book and was not sure what to expect in the 2020 version. But  I was pleasantly surprised and I must say there is so much to do when you are self publishing that it's easy to forget the small lthings which help .This book is that much needed guidebook for all the things you need yo do for setting up your books to succeed.Information about keywords, book metadata,Amazon author page content and a super tip about leveraging data from your KDP Dashboard.A must read for all self published authors wanting to do it the right way, because undoing is often harder.

Kept to the promise if the title

I’ve seen and purchased planets of products that promise to help me sell stuff on Amazon. Invariably, the information is too old or nonspecific to be useful.

That’s not the case with this book.

Penny provides screenshots and step by step instructions that are relevant today not in 2015. This is a gold mine of uber practical and useful information that I’m already using to improve my Amazon results.

Lots of useful material...in fact, so much, that some of gets too skimpy a treatment. It helped me, however, to make the decision to start advertising on Amazon, and that's been of value. There are plenty of other things in the book that I haven't really got my teeth into yet, so I'll keep it close, as a reference for future attempts to break out of the slough my books are in!

I'm a traditionally published author looking to take my book marketing to the next level. This book was really helpful for me as my publisher didn't provide a lot of guidance about Amazon. This book will help those who have self-published and have more control over what they do on Amazon and authors who are working with a publisher to ensure everything on there is best practice.

BOOK REVIEW:
In this age of books losing their appeal over other forms of entertainment on one hand and too many authors writing in various genres on the other hand, actually writing a book that interests the readers, publishing it, promoting it and getting it reviewed – all on the way to finally making it a bestseller, is a herculean task. ‘How to Sell Books by the Truckload on Amazon’ is a book that describes best, the actual process of selling the books as an author on Amazon, one of the world’s biggest book sellers. It offers tips for authors that are guaranteed to help the sales of the book. But it is not only for authors. It would surely cater to a wide range of readers.
New authors would want to read this to get guidelines for launching and promoting their book. Authors with more than a few books to their credit can read this to learn new tricks to better promote not only their latest but also their older books. Book promoters and tour organisers can read this book to understand which points make a book a successful bestseller. Bloggers and reviewers can read this book to finally understand the various ‘promoting pitches’ that request a review. Or better, if you are an aspiring author, read this. It will change your whole perspective on publishing.
Having been in the blogging line for two years now, we have got review requests in every imaginable way. We have seen the best and the worst, we have seen review requests that made us want to turn away as fast as we could, review requests that interested us in their wording, making us take up the book even if the genre was not our most favourite. On a personal level, ‘How to Sell Books by the Truckload on Amazon’ taught me, as a reviewer, the realities of how big the site actually is and the way it advertises, promotes and lists books. This book is honest. It gives you perfectly usable, feasible ideas of how to exactly increase sales. It is not larger than life, it doesn’t offer unbelievable goals, and it respects everyone involved in this profession.
‘How to Sell Books by the Truckload on Amazon’ starts with a detailed, understandable explanation of the actual algorithm the site uses (in non technical, layman terms) so that authors and readers alike could understand a lot of things starting from Amazon’s book recommendations and why some books gain more publicity than the others. Then it moves on to usable tips and tricks for authors on how to make their book’s title sound interesting and how to use the system to their maximum benefit. It includes samples of successful books (Readers Muse is glad to note that one of the example books used in this book has already been successfully reviewed by us – the background of what actually happened was amazing to read!)
The final section on how to request book reviews and the tips for bloggers that emphasises the need for detailed reviews instead of just saying you loved or hated it, was very enlightening. It gave meaning to our practice of writing proper, detailed reviews. The images and the snippets detailing the ranking process were a valuable addition to the book. The author’s expertise in this field is evident in the tone and phrasing of the book.
On the whole, ‘How to Sell Books by the Truckload on Amazon’ is a perfect guide – to writing, publishing, promoting and reviewing a book. After all, it is the combined efforts of the authors, publishers, promoters, bloggers, reviewers, readers and every single person who contributed to make the book what it was, that makes any good book a bestseller.

It’s not enough these days to write a great book and to rely on traditional systems of publicity to market your book. You really need to understand the ins and outs of the current publishing landscape and be pro-active in the marketing process.

That’s why you need the How To Sell Books By The Truckload On Amazon Power Pack by Publishing Industry expert Penny C. Sansevieri in your marketing arsenal.

The How To Sell Books By The Truckload On Amazon Power Pack combines updated versions of two of Penny’s previous books:

* How To Sell Books By The Truckload
* How To Get More Reviews On Amazon

In the first part of the book, you’ll learn what publishing looks like today and why Amazon is so crucial to your success as an author. One takeaway from this section comes from Moz:
If you’re an author, you don’t care about ranking in Google, you want to rank on Amazon.

As an author, Penny emphasizes the fact that Amazon isn’t just a store – it’s a search engine – and she teaches you how to use this knowledge to your advantage.

In the second half of the book, Penny focuses on the importance of book reviews – why they’re so important – how to get them – and how to use them to your best advantage.

In addition to invaluable research and time-tested tips, Penny also includes two sets of portable Tip Cards which handily summarize the key points you’ll find in the book.

How To Sell Books By The Truckload On Amazon is an indispensable book that will teach you all of those practical, real-world tips that you need to know about being a best-selling Amazon author that you didn’t learn in English class!

The first time I learned of marketing expert and guru Penny C. Sansevieri was when I was a new author in 2008 and was doing research on how to promote my own book. I then read Penny's Red Hot Internet Publicity which taught me so much about book marketing, tons actually. I simply loved it!

That book had been eye-opening for me. This time, I've dug into her revised edition and power pack bundled books on how to get sales and reviews on Amazon. And this time, she demystified Amazon for me, its algorithm and how to find the right keywords and categories for a book.

If you're an author or are planning to release a book and you still don't know much about Amazon, which, whether you like it or not, is where most of your sales will happen, you need to get this book. You need to use it as an essential tool to understand how to best use Amazon to sell your book.

For me this book was both informative as an author and as a virtual book tour coordinator who works with authors who want to sell their books, especially on Amazon. As a book blogger, it made me realize how important it is for me to cross-post my reviews on Amazon.

So what does Penny cover in these two books? In the first one, it's all about understanding how Amazon works. She states, "Amazon is less of a store and more of a search engine." Understanding this simple but profound statement will make you understand why your book's title, keywords and categories matter. And Penny explains in details how to find the right ones.

In the second book, it's all about getting reviews. This is what I do for a living, so I can say that Penny's advice was spot on. There was nothing new in this section for me, but for authors looking to get reviews, the advice is very good. I can tell you that some publicists from the big NY publishing houses could learn a few things from this book about how to send out a good pitch as can self-published authors who don't do their research. And with reviews getting harder and harder to obtain, authors cannot afford not to know this stuff.

The Kindle version is now selling at $3.05 and the paperback at $6.99. At those inexpensive prices, you can learn valuable and essential information that can help you get your book off to a good start and selling on Amazon. Highly recommended as an excellent resource to add to any author or book marketer's library.
