If you are afraid to read this because you haven’t read the rest of the series, then worry no more! This is a stand-alone that flows seamlessly from the first page until the last. So many times I find the romantic/romantic suspense genre to be lacking in content. You get a lot of smexy scenes but no real content. “Compromised” surprised me because I felt for Sadie and Simon. They both had realistic characterization and I could feel the anger and pain from each. Of course, being this genre, there were a few eye rolling worthy scenes of “I love you” ‘I hate you” (as I think of beating off to the smell of your pillow) type moments, but it wasn’t distracting enough to make me want to put it down. I actually read the whole thing in a few hours.
I really like the author’s writing style. I could tell it wasn’t just words falling out of her head. She had to have had experience with military or put at least a little effort in the research because her facts were spot on.
As much as I loved Sadie and Simon, I found Garret to be my favorite character. He was so funny but he had Simon's back from the moment he set foot on the ground.
The only real drawback is I was left wondering what happened to Simon’s team. I’m hoping that will be addressed in the net installment. Speaking of the next installment… My main man Malone Garret will be starring in Risk of Exposure (Alpha Ops #6) set to release May 6, 2016. I, for one, can’t wait.

3 stars. Disappointing. Increasingly, I am reading stories where the hero is one dimensional. His single redeeming trait is that he is over-the-top protective. Although, it is an appealing characteristic, it cannot be the only reason to find him attractive. This instinct is often couched in bullying behavior. This does not appeal to me.

Sadie Walker is determined to move on with her life. She had decided, with a little help from the gun fight that took place on her wedding day that she didn’t want to live her life with a man who was always going to be in the middle of danger and could possibly bring it home with him. So she left Simon Tennant at the altar, but a chance encounter brings them face to face again and Simon is determined not to let Sadie walk away a second time.



I’ve been on a real romantic suspense kick lately but not all of them have met my “Must Have” which is a strong heroine who actively participates in saving her own ass even if it’s a losing battle. I had my doubts about Sadie from the very beginning because my first impression of her wasn’t a very flattering one. On the day of her wedding she came off as needy, insecure, weak and selfish. Flat out, she killed my high hopes for Compromised.

But wait! Almost a year passes from that fateful day to the present and in that time Sade did a total reversal of her former personality. Since her wedding day, she had applied for, been accepted and was already on an assignment for the CIA! Granted, it was a beginner’s assignment but still, Sadie managed to uncover something more sinister that brings her right back into Simon’s life. So how did she match up to Simon?

In a word: Awesome. The mousy, whiny Sadie was gone and in her place was a passionate, fiery, intelligent woman that wasn’t going to take crap from anyone, especially her ex-fiance. I had my “Team Sadie” banner out and waving waaaay before I reached the halfway mark. She was more than enough to stand with Simon, not behind him. She held her own in tough spots and knew how to defend herself. She may have lost some fights but she never let anyone make her a victim or a damsel in distress. I loved how she threw Simon off his game with all her changes, both physical and mental. It’s rare when a heroine truly leaves the hero off balance and unsure of her so I just couldn’t help but be impressed by her.

But how about Simon? He was a tricky one to figure out for most of the book. It was clear he wanted Sadie back but the question was, did he want her back the way he remembered her or did he want the new and improved Sadie? No doubt about it, she messed with this guy’s head and it may make me seem mean but I loved that he was so off balance with her! Simon was so sure about pretty much everything in his professional life, it was great to see him vulnerable and unsure about his personal life. It evened the playing field between him and Sadie.

The action scenes and suspense in Compromised began from the first page and didn’t let up until the last moment creating a brisk but smooth pace that kept me up late several times. If it hadn’t been for that darn “Adulting” I would have been able to finish this book in about two days. You can always tell how much I’m enjoying a book by how cranky I get when I have to put it down. I would rate my crankiness level an 8 out of 10 with this book. Basically a “Duck and Cover!” Situation where if you have a death wish then go ahead and interrupt but be ready to duck any objects thrown at your head. This is the first book I’ve read by Emmy Curtis but Compromised is the fifth book in the Alpha Ops series. It can be read as a standalone but this book hoarder needs to get her hands on the previous ones. It’s a good thing there’s such thing as “Throwback Thursday Reviews” on the blog!

Seriously though, I got so wrapped up in this book, over the course of a week that I 1.) Lost track of time. 2.) Burned my dinner twice and 3.) Got put on Mr. Pud’s “Poo List” for stepping on his tail (aka “Larry”) and ignoring the pile of shoes he was building from all the closets in the house (which he then exchanges for snacks).

Final Verdict: I got what I wanted out of this well written romantic suspense novel: A dangerous setting, a dashing hero and best of all, a totally independent, kick ass female who wasn’t going to be a damsel in order for a man to feel like a hero. Simon and Sadie were both heroes and most importantly, they were partners. This is a series I will definitely be following from now on.

Compromised, another fantastic book in the Alpha Ops series by Emmy Curtis! I have read & reviewed each and every book in this series and once again Ms. Curtis gives us a fabulous book full of intrigue and action ~ both in the bedroom & out!

After gunfire breaks out on the day of her wedding & her Fiance,Simon goes into action to save everyone, Sadie witnesses first hand how dangerous Simon's job really is and no matter how much she may love him...she just can't live her life wondering if he will return from every mission.

Fast forward one year and after much haggling with her father, Sadie is now overseas on assignment for the CIA and is watching over a possible human trafficker. Simon is also sent to Greece on assignment and discovers Sadie may be mixed up with some really bad people. Neither can blow their cover to explain to each other what is going on. Simon is determined to find out if Sadie is working on the side of good or bad and reclaim her for his own.

Compromised was a fast-paced, super sexy, edge of your seat read...one I just couldn't put down! I cannot wait to see what more Ms. Curtis has in store for this series!

Simon lived a life that was dedicated to protect and serve. But when that protect and serve came to his door step and his fiance experienced first hand the ramifications. She could not go any further. In the year that she walked a wary from him things have changed.

Sadie has loved this man like no other. She had given him up and worked to make life work. Then he walks back into her life. Sadie and Simon have much to sort out.

There was suspense, chemistry, intrigue and more. I have taken pleasure in the experience of the Alpha Ops, Compromised. Curtis has given me new ground to cover and devour. I will be going back to read the others in this series.

Mission sous couverture est le quatrième tome de la saga Alpha Ops écrite par Emmy Curtis. Si vous êtes un addict de l’espionnage, des filatures et autres secrets d’état ce livre est fait pour vous.

Je suis tombée par hasard sur cette série et en tant que fan du genre romantic suspens, je n’ai pas perdu une seconde pour la découvrir. Je n’ai jamais été déçue par les différentes aventures, même si elles ne sont pas toutes d’un niveau similaire, ces livres sont très agréables à lire. Ce nouvel opus est dans la lignée des précédents : intéressants et plaisant.

Ce que vous trouverez très sympathique avec cette histoire c’est la possibilité de la lire indépendamment des autres. De plus, vous prendrez un aller simple pour Athènes ville que l’on avait déjà pu parcourir lors d’une autre enquête. Vous serez intrigué par un prologue flashback qui vous lancera au cœur de cette relation en dent-de-scie. Vous rencontrerez Sadie, toujours sous le coup de sa rupture, qui cherche à faire ses preuves au sein d’une organisation tenue de main de maître par son père. Vous percevrez ses fêlures, ses doutes et ses interrogations. Vous aurez quelquefois envie de la secouer, mais comprendrez que sa souffrance est plus profonde qu’il n’y parait. Vous aurez l’occasion de plonger également dans la tête de Simon, membre des Delta Force connu pour son efficacité et ses méthodes nettes. Mais Simon est aussi un homme rongé par la culpabilité, affaibli par ses sentiments et désorienté par ses incertitudes. Vous assisterez à leurs retrouvailles ambiguës qui vous donneront envie de savoir où ira ce couple et comment ils feront pour débloquer la situation. Vous vous laisserez alors bercer par l’excitation, la frustration, l’incompréhension et le désir. Sadie et Simon vous emporteront vers un épilogue qui vous laissera sûrement un petit goût d’inachevé.

Je ne vais pas mentir, je ne suis pas subjuguée par l’ensemble de cette histoire. Néanmoins, j’ai passé un bon moment aux côtés de ce couple qui m’a tout de même fait palpiter le cœur à plusieurs reprises. J’ai aimé la trame plus mystérieuse de ce tome, plus axé sur les renseignements, les dessous de la CIA et des forces spéciales américaines. Les complots et les attentats servent de décor à cette relation qui ne demande qu’à renaître de ses cendres.

Mission sous couverture est un livre qui bien qu’assez linéaire se révèle être plein de surprise. L’enchaînement des événements est bon, les personnages sont ténébreux avec la pointe d’intrigue essentielle pour éveiller l’intérêt du lecteur. La seule déception que j’ai c’est ce final trop rapide à mon goût qui me laisse sur ma faim.

À haut risque paraîtra le 27 octobre et portera sur l’inaccessible Malone Garrett. Un tome qui je l’espère se révélera aussi explosif que le jeune homme.

I like this author a lot, but I didn't like this book. The story was just confusing to me. Simon is seemingly oblivious to just why Sadie is so changed and mad at him. Halfway through the story and their emotional connection is all but gone. So far, Sadie is playing games and Simon is trying to figure it out. The spy plot is weak and didn't capture my attention. Then the story just ends; no talk about their relationship at all. Just 1 chapter explaining how they would work in Europe after eloping. Such a contrast to how good her other books are in the series.

It's been a year since Simon Tennant has seen his ex-fiancé, Sadie Walker. When he spies her kissing another man while on a mission to protect the Russian Finance Minister, he turns into an ugly green-eyed monster of jealousy. Knowing he shouldn't reveal his presence to her, he does anyway and is surprised by what he discovers. She's different than he remembers, and he's determined to find out why, especially when he begins to suspect the worst of her.

Sadie Walker believes that the man she's tricked into dating her is part of an anarchist group planning to do something bad. The only way to figure out their plans is to make the group believe she's willing to betray the company she supposedly works for to gain their trust. But the deeper she digs, the more dangerous things become, especially when she learns of their plans. Yet, that's not her only problem. It seems her ex is determined to drive her crazy in more ways than one, and is willing to do anything to discover the secret he believes she's hiding.

Having not read the previous books of this series, I was pleased to discover that this story could be read as a stand-alone, and the way it began with the prologue definitely sets the fast-pace of the story. Immediately drawing me into the story with a well-descripted introduction into this couple's relationship and why it fell apart, even though they loved each other so much. Moreover, their relationship alone had me wanting to keep reading and see how things would work out. Could Simon manage to convince Sadie to give him a second chance?Would they be able to trust each other again with all the secrets they're keeping? Can they solve the mystery of their assigned cases before it's too late?

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the couple's history and the operations they've both been tasked with as part of their jobs. When they come face-to-face again for the first time since their break-up, there's a lot of hostility from the heroine's side, which made me really intrigued to discover the reason why. As Simon seemed to be the most genuine man when it came to his feelings for her, and yet, she suspects differently; believing that he may, of been using her.

I really liked both characters, although both had moments where they annoyed me. Sadie is strong, brave and tenacious. After witnessing the dangers of Simon's job, she's determined to make a difference in the world, which is why she joined the CIA. And with the assignment she's been tasked to handle, she's willing to do just about anything to complete it. Even if, it means swindling her way into her target's life by becoming his girlfriend. However, with Simon constantly around, it's hard to keep her cover. Because the more he suspects her of doing something wrong that could get her arrested, the harder it becomes to deny his persistence that she tell him what she's up to. Yet, what I liked most, is how she could handle herself. She really proves that she has what it takes to be a good operative.

While Simon, he's confident, tenacious and very protective of Sadie, even though she's a distraction he doesn't need, especially when she's constantly splitting his focus from his assignment. Moreover, his tenaciousness was what I liked most about him because he and Sadie deserved a second chance at happiness, and the only way that was going to happen was for him to win back her trust. However, that wasn't easy because she'd made some wrong assumptions about him revolving around the moment they first met. Then there's Simon's determination to figure out what's really going on with the man he's been assigned to protect and why he needs protecting?

Several hot scenes spiced up the story, and did justice to their intense chemistry, which was there from the beginning, and just kept getting stronger as the story progressed. Sadie isn't sure whether she can give Simon a second chance, but finds it hard to resist him because she's still in love with him just as much as he's still in love with her.

Overall, this was a really good book that has me looking forward to more books in this series. Especially if the secondary character, Garrett, is a hero in an upcoming book, because I really liked him. The epilogue wrapped this story up nicely, as Simon finally proves to Sadie that she' more important than his job. I would recommend Compromised by Emmy Curtis, if you've read the other books in this series, or enjoy strong heroines willing to prove their worth when it comes to a dangerous job.

Simon and Sadie's wedding ended up not happening. Even though Sadie knew that Simon was in some sort of intelligence agency and frequently their planned activities were disrupted or set aside because of his obligations, the year they had dated and fallen in love was enough to convince Sadie to marry her Black Ops soldier. Now she is finished with him, or so she thinks, even as she has moved on to become a CIA agent posted at the office in Athens. She is a "rookie" and thus she wants very much to prove to her dad that she can do the work of an operative and do it with distinction. She believes her relationship with Simon is over and that he is permanently out of her life until she sees him in Athens. It doesn't help that Simon sees Sadie "working" a mark for a project that requires her to flirt and romance a guy that is somehow attached to the Russian Mafia. Finding out just what the nature of that attachment may be is Sadie's assignment. Simon could well and truly upend all her efforts. On the other hand, Simon is struggling to understand what Sadie is doing, first in Athens, and then with this guy. He has no idea that she is not with the CIA and thus must somehow figure this out all on his own while working out his own undercover scheme.

Of all the novels in this series, I think this one is the most convoluted. It is far from simple and understanding how Sadie is thinking and perceiving Simon, and then reading how Simon is thinking and how he is perceiving Sadie is sometimes confusing and difficult to keep straight. There are peripheral characters that are helpful sometimes and sometimes they just seem to add to the confusion. This is also the latest in the series so there are mentions of other characters who have been featured in previous books. I found this book was a bit more work to read than the others and much more complicated that many romance novels I have read. That's not to say that isn't good. A tough and complicated read is good stuff from time to time. It's one of the reasons I find myself picking up a good mystery or a intriguing spy novel. Too much sugar, too much easy romance gets to me after a while.

I think this entire series is super and this latest book is a good addition. I particularly was fascinated to follow Sadie's anger at Simon, believing that he hadn't really loved her but had instead used her as a "mark." How these two resolve their upsets and manage to find ways to heal their wounds is very much a part of this story. I also think that this story tells about Sadie's journey of maturing into a woman who is comfortable in her skin, who is moving even further away from the machinations of her parents, her father in particular, and who is coming into her own as a confident and competent adult. There is no doubt that the ups and downs, the unexpected crises that ensnare Sadie force her to use her mind, her wits, her learning and training, and her considerable ability to ferret out the truth-teller from the con artist.

I really enjoyed this book because it was a more complicated book. Some reviewers seem to be turned off by the twisted and snarled nature of the action but that was a positive for me. I hope you will get this novel, especially if you are a lover of suspense and romance and spy stuff all mixed up into a glorious literary mess. You'll find that here.

Normally I love a good second chance romance, but this one just didn't quite make it for me.

I liked both Simon and Sadie, and there were some genuinely funny and touching parts. Simon's preoccupation with figuring out what Sadie was doing, for example, and Sadie's new ability to pull the wool completely over his eyes was amusing. The way that Simon still had feelings for her after their time apart, and Sadie's eventual realization that she did for him as well was a great moment.

However, there were other parts mixed in there that just didn't work for me.

Like why Sadie dumped Simon--on their wedding day--because she suddenly realized that what he did was too dangerous for her to deal with...and then she quit her own job and joined the CIA. Because that's a super-safe profession, you know.

And Sadie's complete hatred for Simon when she "found out" that he'd used his covert skills to woo her in the first place? Of course he did. Hasn't the woman ever seen a single James Bond film? Or even a commercial? If a guy's got mad skills, naturally he's going to use them to his advantage. Her resentment over that made no sense...and was quickly disposed of in about thirty seconds when her coworker let her in on the "secret". But in the meantime she spent a year hating the guy for no reasonable reason. After all, she's the one who'd cried off--where did she get the right to be resentful that he actually went?

Finally--try as I did, I just couldn't really feel the chemistry between the two of them for much of the book. Especially when Sadie turned their every early encounter once they reconnected into an emotionless example of stress relief...so not sexy.

They did have a better connection by the end, once each knew the truth about the other, and the conclusion gave me hope that the second time might indeed be the charm. The suspense and action bits were pretty good as well, which gives me hope that this one was just a one-off and the other books in the series will be more on par with book 3.

Though it's fifth in the series and loosely connected to the only other Alpha Ops book I've read so far ( Pushing the Limit --Harry and Matt's hookup is the night before the wedding that doesn't happen for Simon and Sadie), Compromised worked just fine as a standalone. Though I have to admit, what I've seen of Malone Garrett here has me chomping at the bit to read his story ASAP...

I have enjoyed the books in this series and I was excited to see that this book was about Sadie and Simon because of how things ended in Over the Line (Alpha Ops #2).

One year ago, Sadie Walker was riding a desk as an analyst with a federal agency but the attack at her parents' home on her wedding day opened her eyes to the reality of her fiance's dangerous job and unable to cope, she called off the wedding. Her quest to make some sense of the events of that day led her to the CIA and her first field assignment in Athens where she crosses paths with her ex.

Simon Tennant let Sadie break their engagement but he never stopped loving her, so seeing her so far from home and with another man throws him for a loop. This Sadie is confident, tough, hard to read and a far cry from the woman he was going to marry but will he get an opportunity to know her, especially with the security threats and danger they found themselves in the thick of?

Ms. Curtis never fails to impress me with how much suspense, action and intrigue she packs into her books. I love how Sadie took charge of her life and became a force to reckon with. Simon was always very confident and capably professionally, so it was a change to see Sadie keep off balance for most of the book.

While I enjoyed the flash and bang parts of the book, Sadie and Simon's romance left a lot to be desired. While their physical attraction was still very potent, their emotional connection was all but gone. It felt like they spent most of the book playing a game of one upmanship with each other and never resolved the issues that led to their break up. For a couple that had all but signed the marriage license, I expected that they would be able to deal with their past and grab onto their future but it didn't quite work out that way.

I'm holding out hope that the next book will be better.

Simon and Sadie met during an awful situation. Just as they are about to get married, a shoot out happens at their wedding venue. Sadie feels like although she knew what Simon did for a living, she is now seeing it up close and in person and she calls off the wedding.

A year later she is working in her first post as a newly graduated field officer for the CIA. When she gets a hinky feeling over some intel she comes across, she begins her own op to discover more. When dealing with her source, she literally bumps into Simon in Athens.

When Simon sees Sadie and her source, he thinks she's flirting with the guy and goes off the deep end. She ended things with him after all, why is he so upset at seeing her again? he links her to a local anarchist group and he worries that she's somehow involved in terrorism. Will Sadie be able to unravel the plot afoot in the cradle of democracy? Will Simon finally be able to let go of his feelings for Sadie? He has his own operation underway and his feelings for Sadie could compromise his effectiveness, or will both their operations sync and allow them to work together?

I really enjoyed this latest escapade but did find it quite hard to understand why Sadie blamed Simon for their relationship failing. Yes he was gone a lot of the time but she knew his job from the get go but still acted like a spoiled princess when he had to cancel their plans. later in the story we got a but more info which kinda made a bit more sense out of her feelings. Simon is the epitome of the super soldier! He puts those skills to the test by constantly breaking into Sadies apartment!

Sadie I feel "grows up" throughout the book. She finally realises that simon just used his skills to get to know her not to use her as a mark. She is also finally getting over the need to prove herself as a rookie spy and get out from underneath the shadow of her father. There is some witty dialogue and sparring between the characters and the issues between Simon and Sadie are't resolved immediately which is more believable.

There are some hot between the sheets action and a few funny escapades between the two. No spoilers but I will never be able to look at a mobile phone in the same way again!! I can't wait to see what happens next. Malone is next up and this charming but annoying Englishman may just have met his match!

Sadie was excited to marry the love of her life.

...but when his job literally came knocking on their front door, she had more than serious doubts and called off the wedding. The one who got away, Simon was taken aback when he sees Sadie in a hotel lobby in a liplock with another man a year later.

When they left one another, Sadie was not CIA -- it was their breakup that had her wanting the major change in her life. Well, she got it. While her current mission is meant to be 'soft', it's going to blow up in a whole new way.

Ms. Curtis lost me a little bit in the last two Alpha Ops titles. I enjoyed the characters and the chemistry both couples had, but for whatever reason, the story-lines had me forcing myself to read. With Compromised, I feel that we are getting back to the writing styles, character styles, and plot line styles of the first two titles in the series, and I completely enjoyed the journey Simon and Sadie embark upon.

Equally, I enjoyed the moments of character re-introduction. While some of these character lines felt so far off from one another, it was fun seeing how Ms. Curtis interwove them. Sadie is good friends with Harry from Pushing the Limit; Harry was to be Sadie's Maid of Honor. And as Simon and Matt were friends and partners in crime, the (soon to be non-)wedding of Sadie and Simon was what had Matt and Harry meeting one another.

I enjoy second-chance romance stories, and found that Sadie and Simon's journey was a good one. There were some moments that felt a bit longer than others, but once the ball started rolling with their romance and the two of them trying to move forward, nevermind that year gap, their story was enjoyable. Sadie may have made a rash decision in walking away from Simon, but it was seeing him in his element that had her wanting to understand, and I found that to be the biggest character driven quality in her.

These two will certainly never be 'normal', but their normal was certainly beautiful.

This is my first read of an Emmy Curtis book and Compromised, being #5 in the series, puts me at a disadvantage of any backstory that I may have missed. That being said, I wish I had some. We come into the story on Sadie Walker and Simon Tennant’s wedding day. Being new to the series, I don’t know if we had any of the courtship in previous books or any knowledge of what brought these two together. It was an oddity to me to take the love in a relationship for granted at the beginning of a romance without any of the romance. Sadie’s father happens to be the director of the C.I.A. Simon happens to be a Delta Force operative. Despite this combination, everyone is surprised when the wedding erupts in gunfire, most significantly Sadie. Really? While shocking and sad, Sadie can’t deal. She not only calls off the wedding, she calls off the relationship and sends Simon packing without even discussing it.

In fact, Sadie eliminates Simon from her life completely and spends a year becoming a field operative for the C.I.A. This is how she up in Athens, Greece, on her first assignment out of training. Simon also happens to be there on his own assignment. What follows is lots of angry make-up sex between two people who haven’t even spoken to each other in over a year. Sadie thinks ill of Simon; Simon assumes the worst about Sadie. It doesn’t make either of them especially likable. Furthermore, Simon keeps commenting on how much Sadie has changed since they were together and how much he likes the changes. Did he really love her before? I only found myself routing for their reconciliation because they deserved each other. In not having the love story upfront, their reunion felt like little more than chemistry. It never felt like there was a real relationship binding them together at a deeper level.

Sadie and Simon’s assignments do overlap in Greece, and I actually wished I had more of the intrigue, more of the covert ops stuff. The book is not an especially long read and I think could have benefitted from some enrichment without losing the pacing. Overall, I liked it, I just wanted more from it.

I love a book you can’t put down because of the mystery, secrets, lies and story that takes you to other destinations because the character’s work for the government. And super-hot government men that carry guns and stay confused about the woman they may or may not want in their lives. That is Sadie’s life. You would think she would be a happy woman! But there is always a kink in everything when you have her job. She has worked hard to prove herself to her father and the higher ups that she is the confident and worthy person they need to help with jobs. Most days and night she is just lonely. No one told her she couldn’t and shouldn’t trust any person male or female. When she stumbles on an operation that she has decided needs her attention. Then in comes a person from her past who was the love of her life. Simon is shocked that Sadie is there and is sure she is in cahoots with the enemy. Simon will stop at nothing to find out what she is hiding. Questions are spinning out of control till neither one of them know which way is up or if trust is even an idea that either one can entertain towards each other. He can’t figure out why Sadie is determined to lie and run from him after all they are both Americans on foreign land plus at one time where very, very good friends. Sadie is not the woman he thinks she is. She has become conniving, sneaky, and on top of that she has cut and colored her hair since he last saw her. He wants to know why she would do something like that. He is so mind boggled he has problems concentrating which puts him in grave danger. If Simon doesn’t get his head back in the game, he could very easily be killed. Sadie has a plan she is a girl who knows her job and plans to execute it with precision. Taking care of this issue will show everyone just how worthy she is. Question is having she taken it too far? I liked this book at times I was sucking air and at times I was laughing so hard. I would recommend this read.

Simon Tennant and Matt Stanning are hanging out until they leave to go to Sadie Walker's house. Simon and Sadie are to be married today. It's the perfect day for a wedding at her parents house. As Simon and Matt make their way to Sadie's driveway there's a road block. When the security guard approaches them, they notice he's sweating and nervous. They both realize something is terribly wrong and leave saying they'll be back later. Now Simon and Matt are both Delta Force and their something is terribly wrong radar is going off like crazy. So they go park and get into the property another way and sure enough there are gunmen everywhere. After the situation is under control and Simon finds Sadie, making sure she's ok. He leaves her to go finish cleaning up the scene.

Sadie's father is the director of the CIA. She's so excited for her wedding day but, wow, she had no idea what was about to transpire. After Simon rescues her, he leaves to go help rescue her father. WHAT!!?? He, once again, left her to go do work. What she didn't realize though, is he kills people. And, that, to her, was a game changer. She couldn't be married to him knowing what he did for a living. The danger is just to great for her to be able to cope with and they decide to break up.

Fast forward and Sadie is now working with the CIA and is in Athens. Of course, just her luck...it's her first case and who is also in Athens, but Simon!!

I loved how strong Sadie was and that she did something with her life after Simon. I was kinda/kinda not surprised at what she did (since her dad was CIA director). Simon's dedication to keeping her safe in Athens was so sweet, and the hell she gave him he totally deserved!!

When a joyfully expected wedding day, turns into a death, bloodbath and destruction, all it leaves behind is pain, sorrow, and resentment.

But the author doesn't dwell on the angst of the separation, but moves on in time for a year, in Athens, and things are very different for Sadie, as they used to be. She did more than cut her hair to get over the breakup. She joined her daddy's firm, the CIA, as an operative. And Simon can't believe his eyes, when she sees her again after a year, in Athens of all the places, and she is talking to a known terrorist.

This story was fun, amusing, and sultry action adventure. Athens is the first assignment Sadie is on after graduating from the Farm, and her frantic and anxious determination to do a great job makes her clumsy and hilarious at times. She desperately tries to fit in, and uses bad manners and language to be allied to the scene at the CIA cover up.

Meeting Simon again wasn't something she planned, and soon it seems their assignments are allied, but of course this isn't something they can share with each other. So they lie, deceive, accuse each other of betrayal, and uses sex as a power tool, to try and get a handle on the situation, on each other, and on the old feelings that seems to be coming back to the surface.
The story moves at a fast pace, the action, suspense is constant, the terrorist, obviously are planning for something, Simon and Sadie's cases collide, and are ready to explode the whole political scene in Athens.

I love books with strong alpha heroes who know how to get the job done, yet also have a gooey center for those that they care about.

Simon Tennant is that kind of man. Special Forces operative, he’s been in love with Sadie form the moment he met her. When she gets an up close and personal description of his job and can’t handle it, ending their relationship on the day of their wedding, he’s devastated.

A year later he comes across a very different Sadie. One who’s confident and independent. When he sees her with another man, jealousy flares, and he has the man investigated. What he finds leads him to following Sadie, determined to protect her-whether she needs him or not.

Sadie has learned a lot in the year since her break-up with the man of her dreams. She’s realized that the rose-colored glasses she used to view the world through were those of a woman sheltered from reality. She’s made steps to correct the past and for the most part, is happy with her life.

Until Simon returns.

This is a good story, filled with real emotion and fast-paced action.

Oh my goodness! How did I not know about this series?

COMPROMISED is the fifth book in the Alpha Ops series by Emmy Curtis and I was absolutely blown away while reading it! The story was so exciting! I loved the dynamics and the way the tables were turned on Simon. (He totally deserved it) I love how strong and brave Sadie is. Instead of giving up when her world crumbled, she persevered and became this fierce, powerful woman who I admired the hell out of!

The story was a non-stop, adrenaline-pumping ride of danger, intrigue, espionage and smokin’ hot love scenes! I could not put the book down! The characters are amazing and the storyline was outstanding! I also enjoyed the threads of humor intricately laced throughout the book. Hands down, one of the best books I’ve ever read!

If you haven’t check out Emmy Curtis’ Alpha Ops series, I highly recommend it! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get my hands on the rest of the books!

This is book # 5 in the Alpha Ops series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. It is my recommendation for full understanding and comprehension for the reader, this series should be read in the order intended. It does not disappoint.

Simon and Sadie have a complicated past. Now it appears they will have a complicated future as well. Sadie cannot tell him about her training and op. He cannot talk about his either.

Sadie was hurt by his actions in the past. Can she forgive what he does now? She cannot seem to stay away from the magnetic pull that draws her to him. The attraction still pulls at them both. The sparks are flying!

Simon is trying to figure her out, while also saving his mark from being taken. If only they had gotten it right in the past. Then maybe the future would look brighter. I think if I had more thumbs I would give it 5 thumbs up!

I tried. I really tried, but I just couldn’t do it and gave up on COMPROMISED a third of the way in. I’d thoroughly enjoyed the first two entries in Emmy Curtis’ Alpha OpsBLOWBACK, and didn’t find slogging through COMPROMISED worthwhile. I don’t know what it is about this series, but it went from sexy and fun to wholly un-enjoyable in the span of two books. Perhaps the last two thirds of COMPROMISED are stellar and I made a huge mistake giving up so early on, but I just couldn’t stomach the hero (Simon) or the heroine (Sadie) in the first 10 chapters... and we’re not talking mild indifference here, but rather active dislike.

This series is officially not for me anymore, but that’s not to say that others won’t find it enjoyable.

"Compromised" by Emmy Curtis. First, I haven't read the previous works in this series, however, I found that I could follow along fairly well. "Compromised" tells the story of Sadie and Simon. I really liked Simon - he's sexy, strong and powerful. I liked Sadie but found she made odd choices in jobs, based on her past experience with Simon. Overall, this is a sexy read - there's love and romance, action and adventure and even some intrigue. I have to say that I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I liked the author's style and found the story flowed. Thank you, Ms. Curtis, for a tale that had me roped in, eager to turn each page. (received copy for honest review)

I am new to this author and just loved her writing style and was glad I was able to read and review this book!! This is apart of a series but can be read as a stand alone. And, I wasn't disappointed !!

I love a book with a great alpha - just amazing!! I loved these characters - Simon and Sadie have been through so much. This book is explosive and there are so many twists and turns you don't wanna miss this one. And of course there are some really sexy scenes!!

I also loved the humor in this book as well, nothing like a great laugh to go with reading!

I cannot wait to read the remainder of this series!!

Compromised is a second chance romance and book 5 in the Alpha OPS series. This book kept me on my toes. Simon is a strong character from the beginning but only becomes stronger. Sadie grows from a weak woman to a strong one who could handle anything. He never stopped loving her and she couldn't forgive him, but the passion never subsided. This book will keep a reader glued to the pages as these two fight the passion they always had, the love that never died and the baddies that are all around. This second chance romance will singe your eyebrows! I recommend it to any who love a hot steamy military romance with a lot suspense.

When Simon has a problem he has no problem letting his girl know, “I’m… stiff?” he offered. She laughed and squeezed her muscles around a fast-hardening ***k. “Jesus, thank God you’re awake. I woke up like this, and I didn’t feel like I could move in case…” He groaned as she shifted her hips." I love it when men remove their heads from their butts, “past time , don’t you think?” he said, stroking her thighs. “I’m not going to leave you if you need me, ever again. I realized I’d missed so much of what makes you you. I don’t want to do that anymore.” I enjoyed this book I liked Simon.

This was a well written book. I really enjoyed Sadie's new found independence and Simon's self reflection. My only complaint was that the book seemed to end rather suddenly and without much resolution regarding the plot. I was left with a lot of questions about what was happening and no answers, and based on the sneak peek at Mal's book, I'm not sure how many answers will be included in that story.

HOLY SUPER SMEXY! I could not get enough of this book. Right from the start, this amazing enemies-to-lovers story gripped me and kept me obsessed the entire time. Fast talk and explosive chemistry reminded me of Mr & Mrs Smith, and I was so totally drooling over super sexy Simon. As part of Emmy Curtis's Alpha Ops series, again, I am not disappointed in the least! FIVE STARS!
