Some say the world was made in seven days.
In seven days, it will end.

In the wake of a freak storm that’s devastated northern England, Archie, Daisy and Isabella find themselves trapped in a magical cave. Here, the walls are covered by mysterious paintings whose images tell of three stone tablets that must be discovered ...

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the deluge, a deadly virus threatens the whole of the UK. The ghost, Cain, hatches a plan to penetrate people’s dreams using his contaminated spider web dream powders. He plots to spread the virus rapidly around the world, causing pandemonium.
Can Archie, Daisy and Isabella harness their new-found physical powers? Can they trust in their unlikely status as the Heirs of Eden to escape the cave and begin their quest to find the tablets?

The race to claim the greatest prize of all has begun.

Spider Web Powder, the second part of James Erith’s Eden Chronicles series, continues the electrifying adventure of The Power and The Fury.

Restless after schooling, James traveled and experienced plenty of adventures. He has been shot at, scaled Pyramids, climbed mountains, been through earthquakes, police detained and even swum with beavers.

James specialized in getting lost quite a bit, like in the Canadian wilderness in bear season, as well as experiencing hypothermia, dysentery, muggings, altitude sickness, thefts, a broken neck, desert breakdowns, etc.

Inadvertently these experiences set James up for a big writing journey. (If only I’d gone into real adventuring like his old school-friend, Bear…)

In the 1990s James worked as a journalist for the financial pages of the Yorkshire Post, scooping the infamous Gerald Ratner; ‘Crap’ story.

James designed and built gardens for several years in London before upping sticks to a small village between the Dales and the Moors of North Yorkshire.

The inspirational landscapes of bleak hills, old monasteries, and expansive views were an ideal choice for the setting of the Eden Chronicles series. James commenced writing the series in 2007.

Following a brief and rather embarrassing appearance on ITV’s‚”Honeymoons from Hell” TV show (fleeing a psychotic African safari operator), James became an extremely minor celebrity. Fortunately, this happened pre-YouTube!

As a youth, James had his sights on playing the game of cricket for England, but a long list of injuries and a genuine lack of talent forced the issue. However, a notable sporting triumph in 2013 saw James row the English Channel and the 21 tidal miles of the Thames in aid of MND and Breakthrough Breast cancer.

James retains his childhood passion for making dens, tall stories, and stargazing.

This story is full of life and loss that keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering what is going to happen next. Then before you know it, you run out of novel, with a cliff hanger. Now I have to have the next novel, I need to know how this story pans out. I loved the series and recommend it.

I received a copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

"Spider Web Powder" is the second book in the "Eden Chronicles" series and is just as good as the first.

Unfortunately, the problems I had with book 1 (spelling, punctuation, etc.) are all present in book 2 also, which I found incredibly frustrating - hence the 4 star rating.

Kids, and adults alike, will get a lot of enjoyment reading the adventures of Isabella, Daisy and Archie de Lowe.

I am hooked on these books

Didn't think it could get any better. An amazing adventure that leaves you wanting to read more. These books should be mandated in schools. Imagine how much every child would love these adventures. You really must give these books a go. I read at night and fall asleep reading otherwise I don't sleep. Warning don't read it at night as you will stay up reading till your alarm goes off (that's what I did)

This is such a magical book, not as in the use of magic but in the sense it gives the readers as they follow our three Eden siblings on yet another adventure bringing back to life or death as the case might be, the Genesis part of the Bible with its floods, plague and famine which could bring the world to its end. The three young teens are the descendants who can save the world by opening up the Garden of Eden once again. They managed to survive the storm with the floods this brought with it only just, now they have to search for three tablets and decipher their meaning but so far they have only found one and time is running out fast. Old Man Wood is supposed to be helping them in this heroic endeavour yet he is losing his memory and is just bumbling along thanks to Cain's evil cunning. A most fantastical read which stops off at a cliffhanger leaving us dying to read the next book in this series. Can be enjoyed by all age groups.

A wonderful second installment. Lots of twists and turns. Will Old Ma Wood remember in time?
